 A little about our children.............

   Jakob had a rare brain disorder called Joubert Syndrome.  It is genetic.  Read below to find out more about his syndrome.  Jakob loved school very much, and his favorite show was Yo Gabba Gabba!  We are very sad to say, he passed away on Feb. 24th, 2009.  He had been having seizures for some time and we believe that is what caused his dealth.  We will forever remember him and love him dearly.

 
Ava loves going new places and seeing new things.  She also loves playing with her toys.  She enjoys books.  She loves her kitty Obama.  She loves playing outside the best, bath time, and brushing her teeth.

More about Joubert Syndrome:
What is Joubert Syndrome? Joubert Syndrome is a rare, genetic disorder that affects the area of the brain that controls balance and coordination. The disorder is characterized by agenesis (absence) or hypoplasia (underdeveloped) of the part of the brain called the cerebellar vermis and a malformed brain stem.
The most common features of the disorder include ataxia (lack of muscle control), an abnormal breathing pattern called hypernea, sleep apnea, abnormal eye and tongue movements, and hypotonia. Other malformations such as extra fingers and toes, cleft lip or palate, tongue abnormalities, and seizures may also occur.

3-3-10 Ava is officially potty trained!! I am so proud of her!! It only took about 2 weeks.  She is out of diapers for good!  She rarely has accidents unless she is just having to much fun.  Its so nice!! She also dresses herself everymorning and brushes her own teeth.

2-21-10  Well I am working on getting Ava on some waiting lists for schools.  I go next week to check one out.  I am going to go ahead and put her on a the list if I like the place.  I have found 4 schools to look into.  All have waiting list and all are expensive.  I just hope the wait isn't to lon...

1-26-10 We ended up going to the football game last weekend and the Saints won!! Wooohooo, black and gold at the SUPER Bowl for the first time ever!  We are super excited!
