Aidan is finally 1! This is a good thing for all of us. He's certainly much more agreeable now than he was a year ago. He definately keeps us giggling. He absolutely loooooves music. We have lots of toys that sing and his favorite thing to do is to get them all going at once. Funny thing, though, sometimes they get lost for a day or two... Even though he can stand up now like he's been doing it his whole life, he's fairly uninterested in walking. This is fine by me. He'll care eventually and when he does, I'm doomed. Our house is doomed, the cats are doomed... Even more than music, he likes to push buttons. He got a little bit obsessed with the TV after he found the buttons on the side and started spending every waking moment pushing them. Darrin's closet is also a big source of entertainment. It's in a room just off of the living room which has Aidan's toys and my desk (my "studio" space :D ). I spend what time I can making things at my desk when he's finds that agreeable. After he gets bored of sitting under my chair looking at books (translate growling at the books and chewing on them) he likes to get in Darrin's closet and throw his socks and underwear out. And is of course, very proud of his accomplishment. Aidan had a wonderful first birthday. I remind him often how lucky he is (and we are!) that he is loved by so many fabulous people! He got so many cool things for his birthday, you'll see a lot of them in his pictures. We had two birthday parties, one in Southern Illinois and one here in Louisville. Gramma Alice bought him his own little birthday cake. He hadn't ever really had any sugar, so he was pretty confused. It ended up everywhere, even on his Nana's wall. Nana was a very good sport about this! :) Life is pretty much the same for Mom and Dad. I've been making lots of jewelry and am also now writing a weekly feature for an on-line magazine, Posh Mama. I absolutely love this site. If you're a mama, you should check it out. They keep up to date on toy re-calls, have amazing (and often large!) giveaways, and lots of general good information and people. They're also very supportive of independant designers (like moi), so you'll find lots of people that sell nice, safe, handmade things. Safe seems to be so much harder to do these days. :( Anyway, hope this finds you well! Much love from the Herron-Kerrs!
Aidan will be 1 in only six weeks! Where did a year go? He's such a big boy. When he went to the doctor for his 9 mo check up, he was in the 90th percentile for height, and 95th for weight! I fear the boys against girls mutiny... He is also learning sign language. He can say "more" and "milk," which he asks everyone for. We're working on "kitty," but he's usually to busy chasing them to watch us!
Sorry it's been so long since the last update! You'd think I'd have more time on my hands since quitting my job! No such luck, Aidan is a relentless taskmaster. We've been busy moving over the last month as we finally gave in and bought a house in Louisville. We were lucky enough to find a great house in our neighborhood, we're only two blocks from our old place. We love all of the other crunchy people and can still walk to lots of fun stores and restaurants. Our house is a craftsman bungalow, built in 1915. It has lots of character and we're really enjoying making it our own. In fact, last time Darrin went to Home Depot they gave him an apron, thinking he must work there... Our new address is: 2715 Fayette Ave. Louisville, KY 40206 Our phone numbers are the same! Lots of love to all!
Aidan just survived his 2 month shots! Probably because he's almost three months old, ha ha. What a good boy he was. He cried a little as he was getting the shots, but quieted down very quickly when mama picked him up. He was very glad to get dressed again! He was also kind enough to poop for the nurse.
His weight is now 13 lbs. 11 oz, in the 95th percentile! He is now 23 7/8 inches long, and in the 84th percentile, and his head circumfrance is 16 1/8, in the 75th percentile. Go Breast milk!
It seems the grannies can't wait another minute! After the news yesterday, they decided it was time and will be coming to Kentucky some time today. Darrin will be glad to have someone else to fetch me Oreos...
