Well, I'm finally doing it! Tonight at swim class I swam laps in the pool wearing my swim belt and Mommy and Daddy not holding on. I've been able to do this but I always whine about it. Tonight I just decided I'm a big boy and can do it without help. I swam laps the ENTIRE time! FUN! I only have one more time as a Perch in swim class and then I graduate to Pike. Mommy and Daddy will no longer be swimming with me then. Do you think I'm ready for it? My Uncle John was on TV where he lives. He says he has a face for radio. Wonder what that means? Here is the link. Click on video story to see it. Well, I made it through the holidays. Santa came and luckily I was a very good boy all year! I left Santa some cookies and chocolate milk. I left carrots for his reindeer. It was quite the treat! I even used a fancy snowman plate for the cookies and carrots and a snowman mug for the milk. On Christmas Eve I went to Olive Garden for dinner. I ate so much salad! I left a little room for my spaghetti. After dinner we went to Christmas Eve Mass. Father Frank was supposed to do the mass. Boy, was I surprised when Father Bob came in! I think Father Bob was a bit surprised himself. He even forgot to wear his collar. Mass was great as usual. I did a very good job remembering to do the sign of the cross and praying. I clapped along with the songs and even remembered to cross my arms when I went up for my blessing during Communion. Father Bob even called me "Big Guy." He told me to come back in a few years when I reached for Daddy's host. After Mass we hopped in the car and went to Great Aunt Debbie and Great Uncle Paul's house for the Gross family Christmas. Santa was there when we arrived. He had a present for me. I got some cars and trucks, a V Tech Alphabet Town and really cool musical instruments. When I got home I opened pajamas from Nannie and PoPo and got Santa's snack ready and went to bed. When I got up the next morning I saw that Santa had visited my house! I guess he saw my "Santa Stop Here" sign and used my "magic Santa key" to let himself in. I opened lots of presents and then had a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs (Eggbeaters....never too young to watch your cholesterol!), grits and fried potatoes. I watched my new Cars DVD and then got a good nap so my grandparents could come and we could open more presents. I got a lot of cool stuff for Christmas! I'm sure I got way too much. I think I'll go through my old toys and donate some to kids who don't have much. I got a Wiggles accordion, Big Red Firetruck slippers, a few pairs of pajamas, LOTS of books, Bee Bop drum set (like I play in music class!), Cars DVD, 3 pack of Wiggles DVDs, playdoh, stickers, Elmo TMX, cars, wooden vehicles and road signs, a Cars buddy pillow, talking Jo-Jo doll, Itsy-Bitsy Spiderman, lots of CDs and DVDs, a cool stuffed penguin CD case, 3 shirts with cool sayings on them, work boots like my PoPo has, Sesame Street saxaphone, stuffed Backyardigans toys, Sesame Street CD player, Backyardigans boombox with microphone, a harmonica and more! 9-23-04 In honor of the first day of fall I have once again updated the look of my website. I have also added some new pictures that have just been hanging out on the computer waiting for me to do something with them. I hope everyone who visits my little home on the Internet enjoys the updates! 9-10-06 Friday Night Lights Friday night Daddy, Mommy and I went to a Tippecanoe football game. I got all dressed up to support my team. I wore my lucky red "Po-Po hat" and my Tippecanoe shirt. I sat right up front by the fence in my stroller near the concession stand. I had the best seat in the whole stadium, I tell ya! I sat with my football and my big "Go Tippecanoe!" sign. My team played the Wilmington Hurricanes. Their mascot looked like one of my favorite restraunt's mascot's, Big Boy! That was funny to me! I saw cheerleaders and the band. Mommy and Daddy both said I was very good and I even got a special treat from the concession stand....Swedish Fish! (My mommy's favorite.) I got to stay up late so that made it even more fun! I really like going to the games and always have so much fun. I can't wait to go to the next one. YMCA! I'm starting my new classes at the YMCA. I'm going to be busy with 6 classes this time. The classes I am taking are: Kids Music and Movement This class is offered to children from 2-4 years old. 9-3-06 Last night I went to Chuck E. Cheese for the first time. Since I am allergic to all dairy products I can't eat cheese on my pizza. I like to talk about the pizza guy all the time but usually won't eat it if Mommy orders it without cheese for me. I went out Daddy and Mommy, Nannie and Papaw, and Grammie and Grandpa. What a busy and exciting place it was! There were kids everywhere, games and music. I didn't eat a bite of food because I was so excited. I even got to meet the Pizza Mouse, Chuck E. Cheese himself. Be sure to check out my picture page for new pictures of my trip out to eat and play. I have once again switched the look on my site as you can see. This time is in honor of my mommy going back to work. I get sad when she has to go back to work. I get whiney and clingy and want to sit in her lap and rock. I know she doesn't want to go back to school because she has a great summer with me but she has to go teach the big kids. I know I will have fun with Nannie. I also know that my mommy will come home after school every day and tell me all about the fun things she did at school while we snuggle. I can't wait until we snuggle up together after school! 8-20-06 Can you believe it?!?! I went to another Wiggles concert! That's right! I had so much fun! I wore my shirt from the last concert and had my Feathersword hat and sword. I took roses for Dorothy, a bone for Wags the dog, and a big sign for Captain. He saw my sign and said "Ahoy there to you as well!" I had such a great time! I met Lynn a Wiggly dancer and got a cool shirt that says "I'm a great Wiggly dancer." I love those guys!
5-11-06 This weekend is an exciting one around my house! Saturday is my Wiggles themed 2nd birthday bash complete with Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, and Henry the Octopus. Oh! And we can't forget my treasure chest filled with goodies for my friends like Captain Feathersword's treasures and a Wiggles pinata! I can't wait to have all my friends and family come help me celebrate. Sunday is my birthday and also Mother's Day. I know Mommy and Daddy have a HUGE surprise planned for me. I wonder what it is!
My Mommy, Daddy, Nanny, and I (better known as Team AJ Gross) went to the school that Mommy and Daddy met at and graduated from, "Good Ole' WSU" (as they call it) and did my Walk America for March of Dimes. We raised over $200 in less than 2 weeks time. There were lots of kids, adults, and puppy dogs there! It was a mad house I tell ya! People were everywhere. Mommy, Daddy, and Nanny all wore signs saying they were walking for someone one they loved...ME! I wore one saying I was walking for me and the other preemie friends I have. My grown ups walked and I rode in my stroller because there were too many people for me to take off running like I wanted to. We walked (rolled) all over Wright State. I even ended up taking a quick little nap along the way. We ended up walking 4.5 miles in about 45-50 minutes! Boy, were we fast! After we were done walking Mommy and Daddy took me shopping for new birthday clothes. I went to some of my favorite stores: Old Navy, Baby Gap, and The Children's Place. I got cool new stuff. You can see most of it in my new 2 year pictures. Later that evening Team AJ Gross went out to celebrate our great walk by going to my favorite restraunt, El Sombrero. I even got to ride the concrete donkey that is out in front! :) Look for concrete donkey pictures in the pictures section of my website.

Dear Friends, Did you know that premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death in the first month of life? It affects half a million babies a year in the United States. Those who survive may have lifelong health problems. And premature births are on the rise -- up to 30% since 1981. That is why I am asking you to support me in March of Dimes WalkAmerica. Because premature birth can happen to any pregnant woman. In nearly half the cases, the causes are unknown. The March of Dimes is leading the way to find answers by supporting research into the causes of premature birth. I am joining the fight, and so can you.
Your support helps fund: Please join in and help fight prematurity. Visit my webpage and sponsor me in the Walk that saves babies!
Thank You!

Move over Oprah! There's a new book club in town. Announcing the AJ GROSS TINY TOTS BOOK CLUB ! Are you a tiny tot who enjoys stories? If so, you can become a member of my book club FOR FREE ! To become a member all you have to do is remembr our club motto: Books are our friends. "What does this mean?" you ask. It's simple! No throwing, chewing on, or ripping the pages out of books... ESPECIALLY LIBRARY BOOKS ! To begin reading I have made a list of things you will need. First, you need to visit the HOT TOT BOOK SPOT in this article for some suggestions. Next, you need to invite some guests. A grown-up (mommy, daddy, grandparent, or other) is a good choce. He or she can read you the story and provide the lap for you to sit in. Most grown-ups prefer a comfy place to sit while reading. I suggest a rocking chair or the couch. Noises off! Rememer to turn things like the TV off when listening. It's hard to enjoy a good story with Dr. Phil blabbing in the background. Refreshments are nice for hosting a book club. My favorite? A nice chilled vanilla rice milk served in a festive sippy cup. What time is best for hosting a book club? ANYTIME! Some especially good times are nap or bedtime. a book. Please check out THE HOT TOT BOOK SPOT . THE HOT TOT BOOK SPOT (Good books you'll want to read over and over again.)

3-17-06 BIG BOY BED On March 15 I spent my first night in my big boy bed. Everyone was afraid I would get out of bed and get up to play or read a book. I was a very good boy and stayed in bed all night long!
3-13-06 FLUSH! Today was a big day for me. Mommy sat me on the potty to go peepee and I went poo instead! I thought it was so cool. I had to look at it and I even flushed it down all by myself!
SPIKE Move over Maddox Jolie, there's a new kid in town who is sporting a spiked mohawk and his name is AJ GROSS!
3-12-06 FEEL BETTER SOON Mommy took me to the doctor the other day because I wasn't feeling so great. I was complaining that my right ear was hurting me. I was right. As it turns out, I have an ear infection and I'm now on pink medicine 3 times a day. I hope my ear feels better soon. On a brighter note, I got to stand on the big boy scale and get weighed. I will be 22 months on March 14 and now offiicially weigh 21 lbs. Can you believe it? I'm getting soooooooooooooooo big!
HELP ME GROW
My friend Miss Pennie came from Miami County Help Me Grow to evaluate me. She came on my 21 month birthday which also happened to be Valentine's Day. I had a Koala Brothers card and a heart filled with my favorite candy, Conversation Hearts waiting for her. She had Valentine's gifts for me too. I got an extremely cool wooden tool puzzle, a book about monkeys jumping on the bed, and a card that can color on. That was very nice of her! She evaluated me in all the usual areas. I'm use to her coming and playing with me. In the areas of social/emotional, fine and gross motor, self-help, and language I am performing at the same level as a 3 year old according to something called the Denver Diagnostic Scale, whatever that is.
