December 8, 2008 (Monday) Hello again everyone, almost three months later and so much going on. First off, Halloween was great, Eli was a dragon and Juliet a baby spider as you can see in their pictures. We had fun and Eli got a lot of candy. Eli saw Batman (a older gentleman dressed as) and he was in awe. Just kinda frozen with his lollipop and dropped his jaw, it was funny to watch! Juliet did really well, just got fussy near the end. For Thanksgiving we went to Wichita Falls, TX this year to visit Canenii's family. His parent's are based in Pipe Creek, TX but most of his cousins, uncles, aunts, and his grandmother is in Wichita. His grandmother Flossy hasn't seem the babes since they were born, so it was her first time meeting Juliet & Eli. Unfortunately, when we got there, his grandmother was in the hospital because she was feeling chest pains, but we did get to see her Thanksgiving day at the hospital and then the next day before we left for home, one last time. She's doing better now, and is out of the hospital. Eli also got to meet all his boy cousins. Some were around his age, they were all boys there so we started calling it Boy's Town while we were there. Juliet was the only girl so of course she got held a lot, also because she was the only baby. Juliet is rolling everywhere now, you'll put her in one stop and she'll end up all the way in another. She's also starting to eat oatmeal which she likes, and banana's which she also likes. We tried the applesauce on her, and she didn't like that to much, yet. She's laughing a lot, smiley, and loves her big brother. In fact, Eli can make her laugh more than any of us. She' getting bigger, chubbier and cutier everyday. Eli helped us with the ornaments when we put out Christmas tree up. He's 21 months and into everything! He can put on his pants and some shirts on all my himself. He can now say: Ball, bowl, Uh-Oh! Uh-huh. This, that, balloon, keys, cracker, baby, Hi, Bye, and is trying to say his name although it sounds more like: EEEe-iii. He can also feed himself, although it's still messy. We are going to start potty training him when he stops getting colds & tummy flu's which he's had these past couple of weeks. He loves Blue's Clues, going to the park, the mall, Pump It Up, and his Gymboree classes on Saturdays. I can't wait for Christmas so he can have fun opening presents. I hope everyone has a great Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Years!

September 20, 2008 (Sat) Juliet is 2 months now and had her two months shots last Tuesday in Bourne. We had to get hers done there because we didn't know when we would be able to get hers done back home because of the Hurricane. She did really well with the check-up and with the shots, well she cried for awhile but got over it pretty quickly. Eli watched her get her shots and just become really quite and still. The next day we went to the mall in San Antonio and got her ears pierced! She didn't like it at all, and cried and frowned. Canenii shot a video camera of getting her ears pierced. Afterwards we took Eli to the playground area and I feed Juliet on the bench.

We got back home Thursday when the power came on, and Eli was very happy to be back home. Juliet did a little better this time driving in the car for 5 hours. Eli is such a big help and a great brother to Juliet. He'll bring me her blanket or burp cloth we I ask him to. His vocabulary consists of arf (dog), this, that, bowl, uh-oh, go, cup, baby, bye and hi. He is a handful but so much fun to be around. Juliet is getting chubbier and cuter everyday. She coos, and ahhs. Has little conversations with you, lifts her legs up when changing her, can roll over when on a pillow, and loves to eat her hand. Makes eye contact and watches as you walk by. She sees Eli and smiles and likes to interact with him when he doesn't make her cry by kissing her to hard.

Well that's all for now. I will definitely post something after halloween. Eli with be a dragon and Juliet will be a spider this year. I will post pictures up as soon as I get their costumes in the mail.
Take care and we love and miss you all,
Celeste & Canenii Esparza

July 21, 2008 (Monday) Eli is now a big brother! Juliet Lucy Esparza was born on July 16, 2008 (Wednesday) at 11:23 a.m. and weight 6 pounds 12 ounces. 18 3/4 inches long. Eli is adjusting well, at first for the first couple of days he was fussy and needy. As the days go on, he has been more himself and less fussy. He has given his new sister kisses, but he smothers her with his kisses, covering her nose or mouth when he does it. He sometimes can be a bit rough with her, grabbing and pulling her hair or face. I really have to watch him with her and not leave them alone together at all! But I know eventually they will be able to play together and sleep together. Just for now I'll have to keep an eye on him with her. He's learning that he's not the only one anymore and there is someone new in the house, but he's doing really well and I know he loves his sister already.

June 9 2008 (Monday) I know it's been a long while since I updated and wrote anything on here. With baby number two coming along, it will probably be a bit longer until I do so again, but while I have a chance (when Eli is napping!) I will continue to try to update it as much as possible.

Eli is 15 months now and is getting in to everything and anything he's not suppose to. He's biting and kicking and hitting right now, and we are teaching him not to. He doesn't do it as often, but when he does he gets time-out; which is time in his crib for a couple minutes or in his room with the baby gate up. He doesn't like being in his crib at all. Only on rare occasions does he sleep in it, and only for a few hours. But were working on that. I am determined to have baby 2 sleep in a crib from the very beginning so we don't have another stinker sleeping in bed with us. He's very needy, he loves to cuddle when sleeping and has to have an arm around him before he falls asleep, most times.

He's eating very well, but not as much as some kids his age. He loves fruits, but veggies, not so much. His favorite is hot-dogs (cut up) and cut up apples/watermelon/cantaloupe. Of course, popsicles and ice-cream, but only sometimes. His favorite book is this Noah's Ark pop up book that he will play and (baby) talk to himself about for awhile. It's cute.
He's walking everywhere and is even starting to run now too. He's a monkey, climbing unto chairs, tables and couches. We go to the pool a lot, and he loves it, he's gotten a nice tan already for the summer. Not talking yet, just says momma, dadda and bobba (bottle). His check-up is coming up with week, and he'll get some shots, it'll try and post about that when it happens.
I don''t think I've left anything out. He's definitely looking more toddler now than baby. He's a very active toddler though, not laid back at all like some toddlers his age, I hope the other one turns out pretty mild to balance each other out and give me a break! If not, then they will be wild children together. I think Elijah will do very well with the new baby, he's already good about sharing toys and food with others his age, it'll just have to watch him that he doesn't try to "love" the baby too hard, because he won't know any better.

December 10th, 2007 Eli is 9 months now and he's just getting into everything! He's such a smart baby, he's able to find ways to get out of the little "prison" we have him in sometimes in the living room, where we have all his toys, and things blocking him so he has a large area of space to play in. He finally got a tooth coming in, his first one and it's on the bottom front. He's starting to bite on things now, like your hand to teeth, but we giving him cold refridgerated teething rings, and baby oragel. He's starting to get a temper, screams when he doesn't want to do something lke get a diaper change, or dressing him. Anything like that or holding him while in public so he can't crawl on the dirty floor. He's drinking a lot of juice now from his sippy cup. He looks like a drunk guy drinking from it, the way he holds it himself all unsteady. It's been hard trying to get his used to sleeping in his own crib now, but these past few nights I have started to have him sleep in his crib at night. He'll cry and fuss until about midnight (and that's trying from 9 p.m.) and then wake up around 5 a.m and fall back asleep at around 5:30-6:00 a.m. for a couple of hours. I have jus started doing this, because I am tired of him sleeping in bed with me, and want him to start sleeping in his own crib. This goes for naps as well. It's been rough, but I've been consistant no matter how tired and hope it won't be long until he's finally able to sleep in his crib without crying when I put him in there. Other than that, it's been a joy to have him. He's so funny, and he laughs so cute. It's such a funny little laugh, and he just loves his nursery books, and kisses the ducks in the book. He knows how to waves bye-bye. And when we say bye, he waves. He learned "high-five" when you say it and holds his hand out to give you a high-five. Christmas lights and the tree amuse him, and he's just in awe of all the lights and the ornaments on the tree. I can't wait until Christmas when he can finally rip up the wrapping paper, not that he already rips up magazines, paper, baby wipes and paper towels! Anything else he can rip for that matter. He's standing on his own while holding onto furniture and can "walk" around the living room but holding on to the couch to the other couch. Well God Bless everyone, and have Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Krazy Kwanzaa and all that jazz!

November 3, 2007 Elijah has been getting into everything! Crawling, standing up while holding onto something. Lately he's been hanging onto the couch while trying to "walk around." He's about 19 1/2 pounds now and 28 1/2 inches long.

He eats oatmeal every morning, a fruit or veggie at luch and a veggie and sometimes a dessert for dinner. He's still being breastfed, but eats a lot more now, and drinks a lot less. He doesn't really like juice, but we've been trying to get him to drink some anyways.

He just got his first haircut today, which I will post the pictures up sometime very soon! He did really good, the lady that cut his hair gave him a lollipop and that kept him happy while she was able to cut his hair. He looks like a little man now! No more of people thinking he is a girl because of his long curly hair, although I do want to kept it curly and a little longer, but keep it trimmed. I think he likes his new haircut because it keeps the hair out of his face, and you can really see his face a lot more.

For Halloween he was cookie monster, and I will have to post those pictures up when I get them on a CD as well. People would say, "He's so cute" and "Oh he's cookie monster, how adorable." They loved his costume and he got a lot of candy! He had fun, but near the end, feel asleep while his daddy was carrying him home.

Lately we've been trying to teach him how to wave "bye-bye" and he's trying to learn it, sometimes he waves "bye-bye" to his toys. I've also been reading to him, from his leap frog reading toy, and he takes interest in that. He'll be 8 months on Thursday and everyday he learns something new and grows bigger and brighter. He's such a smart little man!

September 28, 2007 Elijah is getting bigger ans stronger, he is now about 18 1/2 pounds and 28 inches tall. He already had his 6 month check-up with shots, and he did really good. He did cry of course but recovered pretty quickly. He got a little fever afterwards like he usually does, but all was well after a couple of days.

He is crawling everywhere now! And getting into everything! He loves popsicles, and is eating about two baby geber foods a day with milk and juice. He also just started to stand up while holding on to something. He's doing everything early, except getting teeth. He's not had any teeth yet, still a toothless grin.

He has such a grip and loves to go out, go for walks and watch the dogs. He's hair has gotten so long, but I'm not going to cut it yet. Oh yes, and he's also said some baby talk, like "dadadadada" and "maw-maw." I'm not sure he knows what it means, but he sure likes to say it enough, as well as his razz-berries with different sounds going with it. If I can think of anything else I'll make sure to come back and write some more!

August 17, 2007

Where to begin, Eli's doing so much right now! He's begining to "creep" really trying to crawl, but he goes BACKWARDS, which is kinda funny. And he gets an inch or two out, then gives up for the day. He is doing the razzberries again, and is eating a lot of baby food now. Loves bananas, oatmeal, vanilla custard, and carrots. Not so much peas and peaches though. Oh and he loves to take a lick or two of our popsicles, when we have one.

He is getting LOUD, with his voice. Screams very loudly and laughs, giggles and chuckles. It's so cute. He is starting to grap at EVERYTHING around him. He still pinches and pulls your hair, but not on purpose of course, he just loves to hard. He is still getting breast milk, but doesn't drink as much now that he is eating baby food twice a day. He is starting to get "stranger anxiety" and cries sometimes when I  leave him. I am starting to work more, about 4 days a week now, and while I am gone, grandma or daddy usually takes care of him, which is good because he is familiar with them already.

He sleeps through most of the night, besides waking to eat and then goes right back to sleep and wakes up after about 12 hours of sleep. He doesn't take hardly any naps during the day, usually two and they only last anywhere between 30 mins to an hour. He loves to pat you to show he loves you, and kick and jump. He loves to jump in his new jumper toy (thanks Great-Aunt Rosemary!) and play with his toy piano (thanks Grandpma Esparza!) but mainly just likes to go out on the town with us. I'll let you know soon enough when he starts to crawl and walk! Take care everyone. xoxo

Thursday July 12th 2007 -UPDATE- Eli is doing mini-baby push-ups. He's lifting his head really high now. He's also just learned to pull himself up witht the help of you holding his hands, but he does it all on his own! He's getting very strong. He also got his 4 month check-up on Monday and now weighs 16 pds 8 oz. Also he's 26 inches long. He did really good with his shots, cried just a little, he cries harder and longer when he's in his car seat and wants to get out!

Wednesday the 4th of July!

First off, happy 4th of July everyone! Eli is going to be 4 months old this Sunday, and boy has he grown and learned already. It's amazing how he's only four little months and he's already doing some thing most 5 months old are doing.

For starters, he's already mastered rolling over on his tummy to his back, but now he likes to roll over on his back to him tummy! I think it's because it's more of a challenge for him. He also just started eating baby cereal, and seems to take to it very well. He also seems to have a love/hate relationship with bananas, some days he'll like it, some days he wont. He seems to be about 19 pounds now, but I won't know for sure until his four month check-up coming next week, where he'll get more shots.

He has a very LOUD voice, which he uses quite often! (he got that from his daddy) And he loves to baby babble with that very loud voice of his. He likes to also compete with his voice over yours. When he gets fussy while were driving, all I have to do is either play this one Maroon 5 song or Michael Buble's "Everything" and he all of a sudden stops crying and gets very quite to listen. Sometimes I have to repeat the song 2-3 times in a row iuntil we get home or to our destination.

He graps at things all the time now, and if you have your hair down, it's going to get pulled! He has such a strong grip, that people comment on it. He can stand on his own for some time with mommy holds his baby hands, and when he gets really upset he starts to quiver his lower lip, you want to laugh; but try not to so you don't hurt his feelings. He sleeps through the night, besides waking to eat, then he goes right back to sleep. He loves going out and about and taking walks, and soon I plan on taking him in the baby pool we got him, and then the community pool.
