06/01/09 - Happy Summer!
At least that's what Bryce, Avery and I are saying!
Mommy is hoping it will be a good summer since she'll have all 3 of us all day, EVERY DAY, for the next 9 weeks!!!
May was a pretty good month for us.
My first baseball season wrapped up and I received my very first trophy!
It's cool!
I got my cast off and just got done wearing my brace that I had to wear for two weeks.
My arm is doing good and ready for summer.
Bryce and I finished up school and are excited for next year.
I start Kindergarten next year and I am sooooooooooooooo excited!
I keep asking Mommy if I'm going to the big kids school yet when I wake up in the mornings.
Bryce starts Pre-K next year where I went to school and he asks Mommy the same thing every morning, too!
Between two of us we sufficiently drive her crazy with the questions!
Avery is doing well and continues to grow like a weed.
She says "Thank you, Mommy", "Hi, Bryce", "Morning, Kyle", "Night, Night, Daddy", amongst other things and she is so cute.
She knows parts of her body and points to them when she says them, and she LOVES shoes!
That's one of her favorite words.
She also loves yogurt, which she calls yo-yo, and oatmeal, which she says meal-meal.
It's been a lot of fun watching her grow!
Mommy and Daddy are doing well and keeping busy.
Daddy has really been busy at work and in this economy in the construction business we are very thankful for that.
Mommy is growing her Mary Kay business and has been enjoying it.
We are headed to Northern Virginia this weekend to Maw Maw's house and will be there for a week.
On June 11, our beloved Paw Paw will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery.
Please pray for him and our family on that day as we finally surrender him to our Lord and Savior.
He was a great and honorable man who will be forever missed but never forgotten.
We love you, Paw Paw!
We hope you all have a great June and have a happy and safe Summer!

05/04/09 - Hello everyone!
Long time no update!
We have been doing fine in the Bessho household and have been keeping busy.
We lied a little bit in our January update that we would be updating more often.
Sorry about that!
We are going to make an effort to get back on track with updates to the stories and the graphics.
Atleast you all have beeh able to keep up with us through the pictures!
To briefly tell you about what we've been doing since January we'll do a quick run down:
Mommy's birthday was on February 2 and she had a great one.
We had a sad occurance on February 18.
Mommy's step-father, our Paw Paw, passed away.
His health had been failing since June of last year and he is now at peace with our Lord and Savior and we know he is in a much better place.
Although we miss him bunches, please keep our Maw Maw in your prayers that she finds comfort in her life until she is able to be with him again.
I started playing baseball in February and my team name is the Phillies.
I was doing great until . . . (keep reading)
I turned 5 on March 8th!
I had an awesome bowling party!
Avery had her 18 month check-up in February and she was 32 inches tall and weighed 24.5 lbs, both in the 50-75th percentile.
We went to Northern Virginia to Maw Maw's house for Spring Break in April and had a lot of fun spending time with her.
On April 16th we were playing in the backyard when I decided I wanted to try the Monkey Bars by myself.
Bryce was holding my legs when I slipped and fell and hurt my arm.
Mommy and Daddy just thought it was sore but called our neighbor who is an orthopedic on Sunday.
The next day I went in for an x-ray and discovered I broke both the bones in my left forearm.
Mommy felt so bad!
I've been in a full-arm cast for two weeks and am going to get a new cast to my elbow today.
Our Aunt Lindsey got married on April 25th and I was a ring bearer with my cool red cast which matched the wedding colors.
Mommy and Daddy celebrated their 6th anniversary on April 26th.
We are all doing great and are growing like weeds!
Keep checking our site as more updates and changes are on the way!
We hope you and yours are happy healthy and look forward to hearing updates from you all, too!

01/01/09 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!
Hope you and yours had a very Merry Christmas and a happy and safe new year celebration!
It's been awhile since we've updated you on the Bessho household through stories, but atleast you've had an idea of what's been going on by the pictures.
We'll briefly recap the last 5 1/2 months for you.
In September we celebrated Princess Avery's big first birthday!
She got three cakes because we celebrated once with Mimi and Peepaw, once on her actual birthday, and once for her birthday party!
Man, was she a lucky girl!
At her one year check-up she was 29 3/4 inches tall (50-75th percentile) and weighed 22 lbs. (50-75 percentile).
She has lost much of her baby pudge but is still as cute as ever!
She cut her first tooth on Nov. 11, when she was 14 months old.
She's currently almost 16 months old and that lonely tooth is the only one she has.
Can you believe it?!?!?!?
She is large and in charge and let's herself be known.
She climbs like CRAZY which keeps Mommy busy.
She's a handful but she's a lot of fun, too!
Bryce has been doing good and enjoyed school this first half of the year.
He is a vivacious and energetic 3 year old that likes to push Mommy and Daddy's buttons on a regular basis.
From the moment he wakes up until the moment he goes to bed he is non-stop action!
He can carry on a conversation with the best of them and for a 3 year old he's pretty well versed.
He cracks us up sometimes with the things that come out of his mouth!
As for me, I really enjoyed school, too, and will actually be attending a new school this second half of the year and am looking forward to meeting my new teacher and making new friends.
It's closer to home and people praise the program so Mommy and Daddy decided to move me.
I'm excited!
Mommy and Daddy signed me up for baseball this spring and that's all I can talk about!
I'm so excited and obviously we'll post pictures and update you all when I start.
The holidays were pretty good for us.
We celebrated Thanksgiving at Great Aunt Reba and Great Uncle Johnny's house with Daddy's side of the family.
Right before Christmas we took a road trip to Mommy's old stompin' grounds to see her side of the family and to attend Aunt Brittany's graduation from the University of Maryland.
Congratulations Aunt Brit!
Mommy and Daddy were also able to visit with our PawPaw who has been in and out of the hospital and the rehab center for the last 5 months.
He's been pretty ill and we continue to keep him in our prayers and hope that you include him in yours, too.
WE LOVE YOU PAWPAW!!!!!!!!!
We drove back home in time to celebrate Christmas at home and see all the new toys that Santa brought us.
It was great and we spent the day at our house with just us and then a couple of days later we drove to Nanny and Poppy's house to celebrate some more!
We love this time of year!
As you have read before or as you see on our home page, Mommy is a Mary Kay consultant and hopes to ramp up business this year.
If anyone is interested in buying Mary Kay or starting your own business, let her know.
In addition, she has been interested in trying to do her part to go green not only for the environment but for all of us to live a healthier life.
She's gotten involved with a company named Melaleuca, which sells green health and wellness products.
She loves the products, but it's also a business opportunity.
If you are interested in living a healthier life and doing your part to protect the environment, check it out at
www.melaleuca.com
and contact Mommy with any questions you have.
Well, that's the last 5 1/2 months in a nut shell.
Didn't want to drag on too long with details, you would stop reading probably!
Anyway, we resolve to do a better job at updating the story.
Maybe we'll try shorter updates more often.
Hope you all are happy and healthy and wish you a wonderful 2009!
08/18/08 - Hello everyone! Hope you are as well as we are! We enjoyed our summer as much as we could given how hot is has been! We're looking forward to the end of August and the beginning of September when it's still hot mind you, just not as scorching as July and August are in the ATL.
I'll kick off our update of the last two months with Bryce turning the big 3 years old on July 4! And boy, is he independent let me tell you! He had a great birthday celebrated with Mimi and Peepaw over for dinner, cake and presents with us and then fireworks outside with the neighbors. The next day was his birthday party which was a Monster Truck theme. Mommy made an attempt at making his monster truck cake, but in her opinion it turned out looking like a jalopy! He loved it anyway and had a great time with the friends and family that came to celebrate with him.
We both went back to the dentist for our second visit to get our teeth cleaned on July 7th. We did great! We love the dentist and all the cool stuff he gives us for being good boys. Bryce had his 3 year old check up on July 15 and he was 34 lbs. 4 oz. and 39 1/4 inches tall (both 75-90th percentile). He's growing great! We're both all boy and extremely active which keeps Mommy busy!
Before school started, we were able to visit with Nanny and Poppy twice. However, I broke my pinky toe on my right foot on July 29, a couple of days before we went to visit the second time! I was climbing on the bar stool in the kitchen and it slipped out from underneath me and fell on my toe. Talk about pain! It didn't slow me down though. We took our John Deer tractor down to Nanny and Poppy's and rode all over their yard! Nanny even got us a pool that we could swim in while we were there. It was great to be able to cool off in it.
Crazy enough, I started Pre-K on August 6th! Crazy because our county was the first to start school of the metro Atlanta counties (a week before), and because most areas of the country don't start until later. Mommy remembers that when she was in school, they didn't start until after Labor Day weekend. It's a big change because I'm in school five days a week from 7:45 to 2:20. I've been having a great time and love going to school. Bryce started pre-school on August 13 at a new school right down the street from where I go to Pre-K. He goes M-W-F from 9-1 but soon will start after school and stay until 2:30. It's a big change for Mommy, too, because she's so used to a crazy house all day! Now she gets girl time with Avery three days a week!
Speaking of Avery, she has gotten so big! Her big accomplishment is when she started walking on July 29! She started with two steps at a time, then the next day she would take 6-8 at a time, then by the third day she was easily walking all over the house! She has been large and in charge ever since! She's gotten quite a "tude" on her, as Mommy says. She wants what she wants when she wants and don't dare take something from her, whether it's something she can have or not. She lets you know how unhappy she is, let me tell you! Mommy is concerned that Avery is already exhibiting such a temper. She didn't think that came around until the teen - pre-teen years!
The next big event in the Bessho household will be the first birthday of Princess Avery on September 12. We are looking forward to celebrating with her and will post pictures and share with all of you, too. We hope you all have a happy and safe school year. Keep in touch!
06/18/08 - Happy summer from the burbs of Hotlanta! We are enjoying our summer but haven't gotten outside much because it's been so darn hot and humid! We've been pretty busy beautifying our home over the last month. We've painted the house, added new shutters, sodded the back yard, built a pergola over our stone patio and fireplace, and stained the fence and pergola! Phew! Everything looks great and we love being in the back yard now!
We have a sad update on our hard drive issue. After sending our old hard drive to a lab to retrieve the data off of it, the diagnosis was that the drive had "too much damage to the platter" to recover any data. Therefore, we are rebuilding our lives trying to obtain info that was contained on our hard drive through other sources and will be backing everything up from now on. One word of caution that was given to us was to be careful if using an external hard drive to back your data up because it could crash eventually also.
Mother's Day was great for Mommy again this year. We took her to IHOP for breakfast (Mommy loves IHOP) and had a great day spending time together. We went to the beach for vacation May 17 - 25 in Panama City Beach, FL. As you can see from the pictures we had a great time! The place where we stayed, called Splash, had a water park on the bottom ground and it's a great place for kids. We were sad to leave when it was time to come back home!
When we got back from the beach, Bryce and I had swim lessons for two weeks. It was great and both of us love the water. Mom says were a couple of fish and we would stay at the pool all day if she would let us! When it's time to leave, we are not happy campers.
Avery is doing great and growing like a weed. She is a speed crawler and is pulling up on everything she can. She will even let go and stand and balance for a few seconds and then grab back on or fall down on her booty. She's even already attempting the stairs! She'll be running around here before we know it. She had her 9 month check-up on June 12 and as we already knew, the doctor said she was perfect! She was 20 lbs. 8.5 oz. (50-75th percentile) and 28 inches long (50-75th percentile). She says Momma and Dadda and is always so happy. Bryce and I have such a great time playing with her. She holds her own with us!
Father's Day was great! We let Daddy sleep in since it was his day and then we loaded up the minivan and headed to Nanny and Poppy's to spend the day with Daddy's side of the family. It was a hot day, but as usual we had a great time playing outside and got to ride the tractor with Daddy. It was a lot of fun!
Mommy, Daddy, Bryce, Avery and me hope you all are doing well and keeping safe this summer. Keep in touch and leave us a message in our guestbook to let us know how you are doing. Take care!
04/26/08 - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MOMMY AND DADDY!!!!! Five years ago today they said their vows and pledged their love to each other forever! Five years later I think they've shown us how much love they have for each other and produced 3 kids! Our family is as happy as ever and only keeps getting better with each passing day. We love you Mommy and Daddy!
Well, you all may be used to it now but we're sorry for the delay in the update. We unfortunately had a tragedy occur that we hope we can open everyone's eyes to and help you all avoid the same fate. We experienced what we all think, "It'll never happen to us." Our hard drive on our computer crashed!!!!! It has been very heart-breaking for us because we had so much saved on the computer - pictures, documents, more pictures, address and phone lists, more pictures, etc. Like many we had been meaning to back everything up and save what's most important to us on DVD's but never found the time. Now we wish we had found the time. For those of you who don't know, it is EXTREMELY, OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive to have someone attempt to retrieve the data and they cannot retrieve 100%. Please learn a lesson from us and find the time to back up your important info on your computer!
During our spring break, we went to Northern Virginia with Mommy to visit Maw Maw and Paw Paw and Mommy's side of the family. Mimi drove up with us and she stayed with Aunt Brittany for the week. We got to see Uncle Mike, Aunt Brooke, cousins Carter and Jonathan, Aunt Michele and Uncle Mike, cousins Taylor and Micheal, our other Aunt Michelle, and Aunt Brittany. Mommy also had some friends over at Maw Maw's house one night and they brought their kids so we got to play with them. It was nice visiting, but we missed Daddy so much and we were glad when we got home! When we got home we had a suprise in our backyard that Daddy got for us when we were gone - a teeter totter that's an airplane! We were so excited when we pulled in the driveway and saw it! Daddy's the best!
As far as Bryce, Avery and me, we're all doing great! Bryce and I are happy that the weather has been nicer because we love to play outside, and Mommy loves it, too! We still have a lot of sibling rivalry and Mommy hopes we grow out of that soon. Avery started sitting up about a month and a half ago and now she's commando crawling by pulling herself around with her arms. She is also saying Mama and Dada! She had her 6 month check-up on April 3 (which was closer to her being 7 months) and she was 26 1/2 inches long (50th percentile) and weighed 17 lbs. 10. 2 oz. (50-75th percentile). Mommy thinks the nurses must have done something wrong because if you saw Avery you wouldn't think that she was in the 50th percentile. She is a big girl! But she is so darn cute and cuddly you just want to eat her up!
We hope you all are doing well! We now have a new hard drive so our computer is functioning and we can access the internet, but our computer is not back to functioning as it was. We have to reinstall software and such so it's a hard road we're on right now. Keep us in your prayers that we're able to retrieve as much information as possible off our old hard drive, especially our beloved pictures. We love you all and take care!
1/28/08 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! Ok, so it's not so new anymore, but it's only January! We may be a little behind giving you all an update, but that constitutes still being a new year, right?
Let's jump right in, shall we?! Sorry it's a little long. I'd go make some coffee first if I were you!
Daddy's birthday was December 9 and Mimi and Peepaw came over for dinner and to celebrate Daddy's birthday with us. We got him a yummy Carvel ice cream cake and then finished the night off with Daddy opening his presents. The big presents were a digital picture frame from Bryce, Avery and me and a Nintendo Wii game system from Mimi and Peepaw. We all enjoy playing games on the Wii!
One day we went and visited Nanny and Poppy and couldn't believe how nice the weather was in December! We spent all day playing outside and got to ride on Poppy's tractor! Our favorite! Mommy and Daddy also had their share of Christmas parties to attend and one night Mimi and Peepaw came over to watch us. We made Christmas cookies with Mimi and Peepaw and had sooooooo much fun decorating them! Well, actually we had more fun eating them, but it sure was fun decorating them, too!
On December 20, Bryce and I had our Christmas play at school. Mommy, Daddy, Mimi and Aunt Brittany all came to see us perform. After the play we had lunch in our classrooms and wished all of our teachers and classmates happy holidays since we wouldn't see them for a few weeks. We went to the mall afterward to see Santa and tell him what we wanted for Christmas. We all did very well this year, although Bryce was a little leery of Santa. I was a brave boy this year and loved sitting with Santa!
Grand Daddy Rice's birthday was December 22 and Mommy was a little sad that day. She spent a lot of time thinking about him and knows that he is always with us and shares memories of him with us. December 23 was a happier day, as Daddy's side of the family came to our house to celebrate Christmas. We all ate a lot and opened a ton of presents! It was great!
Christmas eve came around and we baked cookies for Santa and left them with some milk for him. Mommy and Daddy woke up early Christmas morning to set up the camera and the video recorder to capture us waking up to see all the toys Santa left for us. As it turns out I did not have the reaction that Mommy and Daddy expected. I was a little less than happy because Mommy put a contraption on my door knob to keep me from getting out. That just upset me and sent me straight into a tantrum that took me awhile to overcome. Once I recovered (approx. 20 minutes later), I came out of my room, saw the presents, went and got Bryce from his room, and we raced downstairs to see all the toys and presents that awaited us. We had such a great Christmas! It was so cute to see Avery celebrate her first Christmas, watching Bryce and me with big eyes and knowing that she wished she could jump right up and play with us. Next year will be great, Avery! Mommy and Daddy had agreed not to get each other presents this year, but as usual Daddy cheated! He got Mommy a gorgeous birthstone ring that had each of our birthstones surrounded by baguette diamonds! Mommy was speechless! Then, he gave her an envelope and when she opened it there was a certificate indicating that he got us a membership to the local YMCA which just sent Mommy into a tail spin and she started bawling crying (surprising? Not if you know Mommy!)! She'd been wanting to join the Y for a long time! Daddy is so good to her and us! He's the best Daddy and husband!
Avery had her 3 month pictures taken on Dec. 29 and she was so cute! You can checkout the pictures that are posted on the pictures page. On Dec. 30 we went ITP (Inside the Perimeter for those of you who don't know ATL lingo) into Buckhead to Lenox Square Mall where Macy's had their annual Pink Pig ride, which has been an Atlanta tradition since 1953. We all went for the first time (except Daddy rode the pink pig when he was a kid) and had a great time! We hope to do it every year!
New Year's eve was pretty calm and quiet just celebrating at home. We partied a little bit with our noise makers and hats. Bryce, Avery and I settled down around 11 p.m. and Mommy and Daddy stayed up to watch the festivities in NY and downtown Atlanta on TV and then settled down themselves a little after midnight. New Year's Day we went to Mimi and Peepaw's house for dinner to break in the new year with them and Aunt Brittany.
We started off the first week of the new year with our first trip to the dentist. I was a little scared at first but the dentist really took his time with me and got me comfortable with all the tools before cleaning my teeth. However, I freaked out when he got the pointed tool to "count my teeth" he said, but I wouldn't let him get anywhere near me with it. I was over the whole experience at that point and barely let him do the fluoride treatment. Once I got up and got my prize I was good. When it was Bryce's turn I was as brave as they come, coaching Bryce through every step. He did really well and he had to have an x-ray, which I didn't have to have. We both did, however, have chips on one our front teeth but the way Bryce's was chipped made the doctor want to do an x-ray to make sure there wasn't any trauma under the gums. He is pretty accident prone! All was well though and nothing of concern!
January 12 we went to our first Monster Truck Jam! It was awesome! It was pretty loud and startled us at first, but once Daddy got the ear plugs for us it was great! We loved it so much that we plan on going every year! Bryce talks about it on a daily basis, still! My favorite truck was Monster Mutt and Bryce's was Blue Thunder. Bryce's truck won the race! Woohoo!
Avery had her 4 month check-up on January 15. She was a happy and healthy 14 lbs. 15 oz. (75th percentile) and 24 3/4 inches long (50-75th percentile). She is growing well and rolled over from her back to her stomach for the first time that week. She rolled over once during the week, but on that Saturday Mommy put her on the floor on her back and Mommy and Daddy were reading the paper and when they put the paper down she was on her belly! She is such a happy girl and Bryce and I just love entertaining her and loving on her. We're both really big helpers!
We had our first (and most likely only) snow fall on the 16th, a Wednesday night. We got suited up and went out to play for awhile because we knew it would be gone come morning, and it was. It snowed again on Saturday with a little accumulation but most of it was gone by sunset. It was fun for the one night!
I attended a karate class for the first time to try it out. I really like it a lot and hope I'll be able to take classes. Mommy thinks it would be good for me to learn discipline and respect. Don't know why she thinks I need that :-)
We hope you all had a wonderful and happy holidays and that your new year has started off well. Keep in touch, we love the guest book entries!
12/5/07 - Ok, Ok, Ok! We know! We've been neglecting you all and not keeping you updated on what's been going on in the Bessho household for nearly 2 months and you haven't seen any new pictures for awhile. WE'RE SORRY!!!! No good excuses here, just been slacking a little bit. We'll do better!
So let's see, since the last update in October we've just been living life as usual and loving being a family of five more every day! Avery is really showing her personality a lot more and loves to smile a lot! She is such a happy baby! As for Bryce and me, we have the typical sibling rivalry which causes Mommy to play referee all day. We just like to keep her on her toes! It's been kind of hectic, but since the weather's been pretty cold we get stir crazy in the house. Mommy doesn't venture to take us somewhere by herself so she has to go when someone can go with us or someone is going to be where we're going that can help! We keep her pretty busy!
At Avery's 2-month check-up she weighed 11 lbs. 9.6 oz. (75th percentile) and 22 1/2 inches long (50-75th percentile). The doctor said she was just perfect (like we didn't already know :-)) and very healthy. He did tell us that she must have broken her collar bone during delivery because he felt a bump on her clavicle where it had been broken. How crazy is that?! He said it's not uncommon for that to happen and not know. I would think she would have been screaming when it happened but it must not have bothered her! She's a tough cookie! She has to be if she's going to survive Bryce and me!
Bryce and I had our worldwide singing debut in our school's Thanksgiving program on Nov. 15. Mimi, Daddy and Mommy came to see us perform. Bryce was an Indian and I was a Turkey (no wise cracks, please!) After the program was over we went back to our classes for a Thanksgiving meal with our family and friends. We had a great time!
We spent Thanksgiving with Daddy's side of the family at Aunt Reba and Uncle Johnny's house. We had such a good time and we all ate a little too much, but what is Thanksgiving if you don't?! We enjoyed spending time with them and headed home later that evening to pass out from our food comas!
That weekend we put up our Christmas tree and helped Mommy decorate it. We got an artificial tree for the first time because it's easier to deal with and we won't have all the needles from the tree dropping all over the place. It's really pretty and 10 feet tall! We love big trees. Makes for more room for Santa to leave presents under it!
Well, we're heading into a crazy time of the year, but we are never too busy to think about all of the wonderful family and friends that we have been blessed with in our lives. We hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday season and stay safe! We love you all!!!
10/12/07 - Happy 1 month birthday, Avery!!! It's hard to believe that one month ago our family expanded into a family of 5! Bryce and I have been so good with Avery and love on her all the time. I hope she doesn't get sick of kisses because we love to give them to her! We all are adjusting very well and look forward to all of the memories ahead!
Avery and Mommy came home from the hospital late Thursday night, the day after Avery was born. Mommy couldn't wait to get home and get out of that uncomfortable hospital bed!!! Since our pediatricians aren't admitted to the hospital where Avery was born, she had to go see them in their office on Friday, Sept. 14 for them to examine her. Mommy also scheduled Bryce to get his flu shot at the same time. About a half hour before they left, Bryce was acting up (can you imagine?) and ended up running into the corner of the kitchen table and got a pretty good cut under his left eye. Luckily they were already going to the doctor! It was bad enough for stitches but the doctor used Dermabond (it's a glue for skin) instead to patch it up. The next morning he was on the bed in the guest room with MawMaw and in the split second she turned her back, he jumped and hit his forehead over his right eye on the foot board and cut it pretty good. Mommy took him next door to our neighbor who is a doctor and he patched it up with some Dermabond, too. THEN, later that afternoon we were wrestling under a blanket in the living room and when Bryce ran out from under the blanket he hit his head, right at the hair line over his left eye, on the window sill!!! Folks, we couldn't make this stuff up! Daddy then took him back over to our neighbor's house and patched that one up with Dermabond, too!!! Needless to say, life was a little crazy that first weekend that Avery was home! All has been well since, thank goodness!!!
At Avery's 2-day check-up she was down to 7 lbs. 15 oz., which is just 1 oz. away from 10% of her birth weight. The doctor said that wasn't too bad since she hadn't quite caught onto nursing well yet. Then, at her two week check-up she was 21 inches long and weighed 8 lbs. 5.5 oz. Typically babies should be back up to or over their birth weight by two weeks but she was still healthy. The doctor asked Mommy to bring Avery back in the next week just to be sure she was continuing to gain weight. The next week she was up to 8 lbs. 12 oz. so they were happy with that. Then, as it turns out, Mommy had to take Avery back AGAIN today because she woke up with her right eye crusted shut. Of course the first thing Mommy thought of was pink eye but was lost as to how she would have gotten it and not the boys since they're the ones in school. Turns out that it is a clogged tear duct but the doctor gave her a prescription for eye drops, too, just as a precaution. They also weighed her and she is up to 9 lbs. 6 oz. She's eating constantly!! Mommy isn't nursing her anymore, just pumping since it's too time consuming to sit and nurse Avery while the two of us are running around! Avery drinks a 4 oz. bottle and then usually polishes of another 2 oz. after that!!! She's gaining weight good now!
Last weekend we went to the Atlanta Children's Museum for a birthday party for Hampton, who is one of our BHP friends and his Mommy has been a friend of Daddy's family for years. We had a lot of fun and wore Mommy, Daddy, MiMi and Peepaw out! We can't wait to go back sometime soon!
All in all, we're all doing well and are happy and healthy. Yes, it is pretty crazy and hectic except for when Bryce and I are taking our naps, but we have adjusted to life with Avery in the house and we are so happy she's a part of our lives. Keep checking in with us as we will continue to post pictures as often as we can. Take care!!!
9/15/07 - Hello everyone!!! As you have seen, our little sister, Avery Elizabeth Bessho, finally made her grand entrance into the world on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 3:35 a.m. She weighed 8 lbs. 10 oz. and was 19 inches long. Her journey into this world was quick, unlike how long she took to "bake" in Mommy's belly!
Mommy thought she had been feeling contractions from time to time throughout the previous week, but it wasn't until Tuesday morning that she knew for sure she was having them. Mommy and MawMaw took Bryce and me to school, went and had breakfast and ran some errands and she felt a few during that time. Then as the late afternoon/early evening came around she decided that she would start writing down when she was having her contractions because she wasn't quite sure how often she was feeling them. They seemed to be around 20 to 30 minutes apart so there seemed like there was plenty of time to wait. She went to bed (or tried) around 10:00 p.m. and by 11:00 they were pretty intense and about 8 minutes apart. Getting stronger and more frequent, at around 1-1:30 a.m. they were all of a sudden 3 minutes apart and so intense that Mommy was frantically waking Daddy and MawMaw to go to the hospital. Avery wasn't waiting much longer!
By the time they got to the hospital around 2:30 a.m., Mommy was already 8-9 centimeters dilated and frantic! The pain was unbearable and Mommy was begging the nurses that were prepping her for labor to get the anesthesiologist STAT!!!! She was soooooooo afraid that she would dilate too much that it would be too late to get an epidural and she did not want to try to have Avery naturally!!! The nurses said she had to have 500 cc's of IV fluids before she could get her epidural. Mommy's favorite word was "HURRY!!! HURRY!!!" to everyone! Eventually she got the epidural but it didn't have time to kick in much before it was time to start pushing. She pushed for less than 10 minutes and at 3:35 a.m., Avery was born! Mommy and Daddy were so happy to finally have their little girl!
Later that morning, Daddy came home to relieve our neighbor who came over to be with us when Mommy, Daddy and MawMaw left to go to the hospital. He fed us breakfast and got us dressed to go to the hospital to meet our new baby sister. We were so excited to finally meet her and gave her lots of kisses to welcome her. Mommy and sister stayed in the hospital until Thursday night and then they came home. We are so excited to finally have her here and have been a big help to Mommy! We're all adjusting but all in all, we've been very good and look forward to the years ahead of protecting her!
Thank you to everyone for your well wishes and your patience in updating the site until we've had a moment to breathe! We wish you all well, too, and hope you continue to check in on us as we adjust to being a family of five now. It should be interesting! Stay tuned!!!
8/30/07 - Hello all! Sorry it's been so long since we've updated you on what's been going on in the Bessho household. It's been pretty calm for the most part. Mommy is getting bigger by the moment and groaning every day that she can't wait until Avery gets here. She's been ready for about a month and is hoping and praying that she's early. At her check-up on Tuesday she was a little over 1 cm dialated and approximately 70% effaced, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything is going to happen soon. Because the doctors won't let her go past 41 weeks she had to go ahead and schedule a c-section for September 14, but Mommy hopes Avery makes her debut before then! She's started trying to "pursuade" Avery to come out by using some methods she found ont he internet and talking to her doctors. She's been eating quite a bit of pineapple, but noting seems to be working. Guess Avery doesn't want to come out just yet! Hopefully soon! Bryce and I are excited to meet our baby sister!
It has been pretty hot in here for the month of August. We have hit record highs breaking the 100 degree mark multiple days and with the heat index, factoring in the nasty humidity that we have, the temps have broken 100 degrees many times. We have not been able to do much outside of the house and Bryce and I get cabin fever and like to drive Mommy crazy! She has gotten a little relief since we started school on August 14 for 2 days a week from 9 to noon. At least it is something! We have had a tough time adjusting but are getting the hang of it and are starting to like going to school. I also started playing soccer and like it a lot. With the weather being as hot as it has we haven not had full practices, but for my age group it is fine because our attention span is not that big!
One day we went with Mimi and Aunt Brittany to visit Nanny and Poppy for the day. We had a lot of fun and always get spoiled when we go to visit so it is hard for us to leave. Also, one weekend Mimi, Peepaw and Aunt Brittany took Bryce for the weekend, but I got to join in the fun that Sunday when they came to pick me up and we all went to a farm owned by friends of Mimi, Peepaw and Aunt Brittany. We got to go fishing, see their animals and play with their dogs. As you may have noticed from the pictures, we had a lot of fun! We loved it!
Since baby sister is coming, Mommy and Daddy decided to go ahead and upgrade Bryce to a big boy bed. They got him a twin over full bunk bed and got him cute car bedding and accessories to decorate his room. The same weekend he went to stay with Mimi and Peepaw, Daddy spent the weekend painting his room. We were all sad to see the Nemo theme that his room was painted go away, but it was time for Bryce to have a new theme. It looks really good and just a few minor touches are left to do. We will take pictures and show you when it is done!
Two weekends ago, Dawn and Rhonda, friends of Mommy, had a beautiful baby shower for her and Avery. The friends and family that attended gave Mommy such beautiful gifts and she is so grateful for wonderful friends and family! MawMaw came down from Virginia for the weekend to visit us and attend the shower. It just so happened that Uncle Lance got in town from Hawaii on Saturday to attend a conference for the week. He spent time with us on Saturday and stayed the night and then had to head back into the city on Sunday afternoon to attend his conference for the rest of the week. We were so excited to have both of them in town at the same time!
Well, for now that is the latest on what has been happening here on our front. We will definitely keep you all posted as things progress towards the arrival of our baby sister. Hopefully not too much longer, but no one is more anxious for her to get here than Mommy! We hope everyone is doing well and we will update again soon!
Take care and we'll keep you posted! Let us know how you all are doing, too!
7/8/07 - Hello everyone! Hope you all have been doing well. We sure have. Mommy says she feels like she's getting bigger by the minute but we're all looking forward to when Baby Girl Bessho enters the world. We're narrowing down the names and think we've got one picked out, but Mommy and Daddy aren't 100% sure so they're not saying yet in case they change their mind at the last minute! We'll let you know as soon as they're sure!
We had a pretty calm Memorial Day weekend this year. We didn't do anything except hang out around the house and, of course, Daddy worked in the yard. We took it easy because Mommy can't handle much activity, especially in the hot humid heat that we have to live with here in Hotlanta! We just enjoyed some family time together.
On June 5th, Mommy packed up the car and loaded up Bryce and me and we headed off to Virginia and Maryland for two weeks to visit her side of the family. On our way up there we stopped by Virginia Tech, which is Mommy's alma mater. It had probably been about 10 years since she had been back, but especially given the events that took place a couple of months ago she wanted to make a special effort to go on our way home. While we were visiting Va Tech, Mommy got a somber call from her sister that her Daddy, Grandaddy Rice, had fallen and was in a coma and was not expected to make it. We stayed at Maw Maw and Paw Paw's lake house outside of Roanoke, which is about 45 minutes from Va Tech, for the night and then headed to Northern Virginia the next morning. Mommy dropped Bryce and me off at Maw Maw's and then headed to Ocean City, MD, which is approximately 3 hours from Maw Maw's, to see Grandaddy in the hospital and say her good bye's. The next morning Uncle Lance and Aunt Angie made it to the hospital after traveling from Hawaii all night and they were able to say their goodbyes, too. The family made a hard decision to remove Grandaddy Rice from life support and he slipped away to be with the Lord 20 minutes later. We love and miss him very much but know that he will be in our hearts forever!!! We will always let Baby Girl Bessho know how special Grandaddy Rice was and know that he will always be looking over us. We love you Grandaddy!!!!
Daddy flew up to be with us for Grandaddy Rice's memorial service, which was on June 15, where Mommy did her best to sing Amazing Grace. It was hard for her but she did it for Grandaddy! Later that evening, all of the family on Maw Maw's side drove down to their lake house to spend the weekend, which was Father's Day weekend. We had a great time and I had a lot of fun fishing. We got to go out a couple of times on Uncle Mike's boat and had a blast. Sunday morning came too fast as we had a family breakfast to celebrate Father's Day and then we hopped back in the car to head home. It was a great trip but it was hard being gone for two weeks. We were glad to be back home!
When we got home, Daddy showed us the surprise he had been working on for Mommy while we were gone. He finished sanding, priming and painting the dresser Mommy bought at Goodwill for the baby's room, put bead board up and painted the baby's nursery. Mommy was so happy and impressed! She loves it! Daddy is so good to Mommy! Also, Uncle Richard and Aunt Heidi in Arizona sent all of their baby clothes from Cousins Kendall and Carley, and Mommy was amazed at the amount of clothes and shoes they sent. Just to give you an idea, Mommy organized all the stuff, and the 6-drawer dresser and the closet are already packed! Baby Girl Bessho is hooked up and will be dressed in style!
We took some time to get back into the swing of things after being gone for so long and then it was off to Madison, GA for 2 days to attend Great Aunt Reba's surprise 50th birthday party. Bryce and I stayed at Nanny and Poppy's house with them while Mommy and Daddy went to the party. We had a lot of fun with them. Mommy and Daddy got back to Nanny and Poppy's after the party and went straight to bed. The next morning we got up and had breakfast, spent some time with the family, and then headed back home in the afternoon.
Then, Bryce's birthday was that Wednesday, July 4th, and he turned the big 2! MiMi and Peepaw came over and we had dinner, then cake and ice cream and then Bryce opened presents. Later, after MiMi and Peepaw left, we stayed up late to watch the fireworks that the surrounding neighbors were setting off. It was a fun day!
This weekend we had Bryce's birthday party where family and a few friends came over to celebrate. He had a cool Lightning McQueen cake and we all enjoyed it very much. He had a great time (and so did I!) and got a lot of nice presents from everyone. Now it's mostly down time for us until Baby Girl Bessho arrives, that we know of, and we're going to take that time to enjoy our family of 4 until we expand to 5.
Don't forget to check out Mommy's Mary Kay website and place an order with her if you see anything you need or would like to try. The website is www.marykay.com/lbessho.
Take care and we'll keep you posted! Let us know how you all are doing, too!
5/24/07 - Things have been going well around the Bessho household. Since the last update, there's been quite a bit that's gone on. Mommy and Daddy's 4th wedding anniversary was on April 26th and Daddy broke his promise to Mommy that they wouldn't get each other any presents, just spend some quality time with each other. Mommy got over it pretty quickly though once she saw the beautiful ring that Daddy got her, as you may have seen in the pictures. The diamonds are set much like the ones in her wedding ring and band and there are three diamonds, which represent the three children. Of course she cried and Daddy captured it in the pictures, too. Mommy made Daddy a special dinner the night of their anniversary. That weekend MiMi and PeePaw took us to visit Nanny and Poppy for a night while Mommy and Daddy had some alone time to celebrate. They said even though they missed us, they really enjoyed the time they had together. They went to an awesome Brazilian steakhouse and gorged themselves on all the wonderful food. Afterwards they went and had ice cream, so by the time they got home Mommy was so tired she fell asleep sitting up on the couch!!!!! We won't give her too much grief since she is pregnant!
On May 4th, we took a trip to Chattanooga, TN (which isn't all that far from us) with Mommy, Daddy and MiMi to ride Thomas the Train. We had so much fun. The event was at the Tennessee Valley Railroad depot and they had all kinds of other trains there that we were allowed to explore, too. They had tatoos, a gift shop, animals, a hay maze, bubbles to play with and other activities. Our favorite part of the trip though was when we got to ride on the train. It was Mommy's first time on a train, too! We really enjoyed it and didn't want to get off! That was a fun day.
The next day, Mom Mom and Grandaddy came to visit on their way home to Maryland from their winter home in Florida. We really enjoyed spending time with them and they brought us nice presents. Unfortunately they couldn't stay very long and were on their way home Monday morning. We hope to see them again soon because Mommy is planning on taking a trip with Bryce and me back to her stomping grounds sometime soon.
The next weekend was Mother's Day and we went to Nanny and Poppy's to celebrate the day with Daddy's side of the family. We had a lot of fun! Nanny and Poppy have a huge fenced in yard and Bryce and I can go crazy. However, Bryce, being as adventurous as he is, got into a HUGE ant hill and had to be stripped down and thrown into the tub. He had a few bites on his legs but he handled it pretty well. We were exhausted by the time we left there and slept pretty good on the way back home.
Mommy ordered the crib bedding for the nursery and now is trying to decide how to paint and decorate it. Where they're going to put the nursery is currently the guest room, so Mommy and Daddy need to get all of that furniture out before they do anything. There's a lot to be done in the next 3 1/2 months before our baby sister gets here! She still doesn't have a name yet but Mommy and Daddy keep throwing names around. One will eventually stick!
In the recent months, Mommy decided that although she does want to try it again some day, there is more to real estate, financially and time wise, than she anticipated and decided to change her license to be a referral agent only. That means that she still has an active license but she can't represent someone wanting to buy or sell a home. She can refer potential clients to a real estate agent and still get a referral fee.
In the mean time, Mommy has started up a Mary Kay business and is now a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. She's used the products, off and on, for years and decided that she would start up her own MK business to get products for herself and to help others who need help with taking care of their skin. She says she's not getting any younger and probably shares that feeling with others, so why not help them, too. If anyone is interested in any Mary Kay products, please contact her either via email at lbessho@marykay.com or visit her website at www.marykay.com/lbessho. She's hoping to make at least enough to continue sending us to preschool in the fall so she can have her reprieves when the baby comes!
You may have noticed from the pictures that Daddy has been hard at work in the yard. He takes great pride in his yard and is known all over the neighborhood for it. We're known as the people with "The Yard." Daddy's most recent project was the stone patio and fireplace in the backyard. He's landscaped around it and now it's Mommy's favorite place to hang out. He hopes to get the pergola done before too long. We look forward to spending a lot of time back there!
We hope that everyone is doing well and thank you for the continued well wishes in our guest book. We appreciate all the kind words everyone always has and look forward to reading them as much as you all like checking in on our website. Take care!
4/17/07 - It's a girl! It's a girl! It's a girl!!!!! Mommy hasn't stopped grinning since this morning. She says her cheeks and jaw hurt so bad but she just can't stop smiling! Bryce and I are very excited as well. Although we don't quite understand what this means for us yet, we will both be so excited to have a baby sister to protect. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. They really paid off! Mommy said He does listen!
Other than that big news, we've been doing very well. We had a great time celebrating Easter, as you can tell from the pictures. We have more candy than we know what to do with, but Mommy limits us to picking one egg a day and we can eat whatever is inside. Of course we always want more though!
We are typical boys who have big time sibling rivalry over all of our toys. Mommy says that the baby is going to come out screaming because she hears us screaming all the time. Mommy and Daddy keep saying they hope it's just a phase because it gets out of control sometimes. But, at the end of the day we hug and kiss each other because we'll always love each other!
We're looking forward to the months to come and Mommy is looking forward to decorating the nursery and all the girl stuff there is to be had. She said that she may need to go back to work to afford her habit now! Daddy is still in shock I think, but he's very happy to be getting a daughter, too! She'll help balance him. Mommy says there's too much testosterone in the house! Now it's just a matter of picking the name!
Hope you all are happy and healthy! Thank you again for all the well wishes and we look forward to sharing our journey with you all! Take care!
We hope everyone is doing well and keep us posted on how you all are doing, too. Take care!
-----------------------current------------------>
3/14/07 - Can you believe that we're already almost through the first quarter of 2007?!?! It's crazy how fast time has flown already this year! Well, I had quite a 3rd birthday last week (the 8th) and thank you to all of you for your birthday wishes! Mommy made a cookie cake to take to school to celebrate my birthday with my buddies. It was great! The morning started out with Donuts with Dad and Daddy came to school to have breakfast with Bryce and me. We loved it! Then my class had even more sugar for our snack time when we ate the cookie cake. All the Mom's were loving us that day! It was a great day!
The month started out a little rough though when the 24 hour stomach bug crud made it's way around our house. Bryce started out with it first, then Daddy and I got it, then Mom was the last one. Maw Maw (Grandma Coupland) came to visit for my birthday and the bug must have still been lingering because she ended up getting it as well. Poor thing was quarantined to her room because we didn't want to get it again. Luckily we're all feeling better.
So, as you probably have seen, we're going to have a new baby brother or sister soon!!!! Mom is praying and asking for everyone's prayers that it's a girl, and her motto is "Think Pink!" Although a healthy boy would make her happy too, she's really dying when she goes out shopping and sees all the cute stuff there is out there for girls. Daddy said he'd have to get a second job to afford all the stuff Mommy will buy if it's a girl! Either way, keep us in your prayers that it's a healthy baby!
We're all doing well and Bryce and I are still growing like a weed. Bryce is talking up a storm although he's not saying much that's comprehendible. Some of his most frequently used words are plane, truck, car, cookie, juice, and sorry. Me, I continue to amaze Mommy and Daddy everyday they say. I try!
Daddy is getting spring fever and can't wait to get back to work in the yard again. He's working on putting in a patio with a fireplace in the back yard as his current project until the grass greens up and he can spend time on his prized yard!
We hope everyone is doing well and keep us posted on how you all are doing, too. Take care!
2/9/07 - Hello everyone! Just a quick update on how we've been doing. Not much has been going on in our household that's newsworthy. Mom can't believe that it's been almost a year that she quit her job and has been home with us (Feb. 17, 2006)! She says time has flown by, but that's just because we're so much fun to be with!
I am talking more and more each day and catching Mommy and Daddy off guard with the grown up things I say. Just the other day Mommy's chin dropped when we got in the car and I said, "Buckle up, Mommy!" She's still trying to figure out where I got that from! I've become even more independent than before but Mommy is letting me explore and help with things where appropriate. I like to help her cook, like stirring things, getting things from and putting things back in the pantry and refrigerator. I've been a good big brother to Bryce, too. I'm very loving and like to take care of him. I can also assert my authority over him, too, and show him who's boss. However, it's not as easy anymore because he doesn't put up with it like he used to.
Bryce is growing leaps and bounds. He had his 18 month check-up (but he was actually 19 months when he went) and he was 34 1/4 inches tall (95th percentile) and 27 lbs. 3.2 oz. (50-75th percentile). Mommy couldn't believe he hadn't broken the 30 lb. mark! As she has always said, I'm going to be the football player in the family because I've always been in the 90-95 percentile range for height and weight so I've got the bulk to be a football player. Bryce is going to be tall and thin so he'll be the basketball player. He's saying more words all the time and surprising Mommy. His favorite words are paci, cookie, cracker, juice, Daddy, shoe, Baxter, ouch, uh-oh, poo-poo, pee-pee, nose, mouth, kiss, just to name a few. He's growing up so fast! Still only has 7 teeth though. Guess the others will make an entrance when they feel like it!
On a closing note, as you may have read, our Great Uncle Ronnie (Mimi's brother) left us to be with his Lord. We love him and will miss him very much and hope that you all keep him and our family in your prayers. Thank you for all of the kind wishes and thoughts as we've been going through this time. It's so special to us to have such great friends and family!
We hope that all of you are happy and healthy. Take care and keep in touch!
1/8/07 - Happy New Year!!! We hope everyone's holidays were as good as ours! We're glad to have life slowed down and back to normal, though! Believe it or not, Mom is glad to be done with shopping! The holidays were a world wind and as you can tell from the pictures, Bryce and I didn't get very much (hee-hee!) so we don't have much to do (yeah, right!). Seriously, Santa must have thought we were pretty good because we got lots of toys and other goodies. Our grandparents and great-grandparents spoiled us, too! We could get used to this every Christmas!
We woke up Christmas morning to all the presents that Santa brought for us and some that Mommy and Daddy got for us. Then we had breakfast and got ready and went over to Mimi and Peepaw's where we celebrated the rest of the day with Daddy's side of the family. It was a long, great day and we slept like rocks that night; especially Mommy and Daddy! Then, a couple of days later, Mom Mom and Grandaddy Rice came to visit us for two nights on their way down to Florida. We had lots of fun with them. We wore them out one night while Mommy and Daddy stepped out for a little while. We were sad to see them go! The next night Mommy and Daddy went to the Chick-fil-a Bowl, which was Virginia Tech vs. Georgia. It was a sad night for Mommy since VaTech lost, but she didn't mind because she's not a sore loser and if Georgia lost Daddy would not have been in a good mood. It was best for all of us!
After two nights out, Mommy and Daddy didn't do anything special for New Year's eve, although they were able to stay awake until midnight. The fireworks woke me up, so Mommy, Daddy and I watched them outside my window until they stopped. This past Saturday, Mommy and Daddy went to go see Cirque du Soleil with Mimi, Peepaw and Aunt Brittany and loved it. They say if you haven't seen one of those shows it's a must see! Now Daddy's gone back to work and we start up school again tomorrow. It's back to our regular schedule!
We wish everyone a happy, healthy and safe New Year! Please keep Uncle Ronnie and our family in your thoughts and prayers! Visit us often and let us know how you are doing! Take care.
12/01/2006 - Wow!!!! Can you believe it?!?!?! Thanksgiving has just past and Christmas is only 24 days away!!!! Man, where does the time go? Bryce and I are excited though because that means we get presents from Santa soon!!!! Mommy and Daddy keep telling us that we have to be good boys so Santa brings us good presents but right now we're still testing that theory! We are good most of the time, but like any little kids we love to act up a lot!
As you may have noticed from the pictures page, we had to make a very hard decision and found a good home for Herschel and Sugar. We weren't able to give them the time and attention they deserve and we wanted to give them to a good home that could. With Bryce and me being so small, the dogs were just too big for us. They are very loving dogs but they don't know their size and strength and we couldn't play with them. They have lots of land to run around on now at a farm and will have a lot of fun. We miss them a lot!
We spent Thanksgiving at Great Aunt Reba and Uncle Johnny's house with Mimi and Peepaw, Aunt Brittany (aka Aunt Peepee), Nanny and Poppy, Great Aunt Debbie and Great Uncle Ronnie, and 2nd Cousin Renee. We stayed the night and spent the day Friday at Nanny and Poppy's playing in their big yard and riding the tractor. We love to ride the tractor! We had a great time with everyone and ate lots of food (like who didn't?) and came back home that night. We took it easy on Saturday and then Sunday we got our Christmas tree. We haven't put it up yet but we wanted to make sure we got a good one before they were all gone. Last year we waited until about 3 weeks before Christmas and drove to a bunch of places looking for a good tree. We didn't want to do that again. Mommy and Daddy said it's not going to be fun trying to keep Bryce from playing with the tree. I'm good at telling on him though, so I'll help them!
I am talking more and more everyday and surprise Mommy and Daddy all the time with new words or phrases. One day Daddy showed me a picture in a magazine and said, "Look Kyle, a bird." I quickly had to correct him and said, "No Dad, owl!" Daddy was so shocked that he was speechless for a minute. He couldn't wait to tell Mommy and she was surprised, too. I'm learning a lot at school and from watching TV. My favorite shows are Wonder Pets, The Backyardigan's, Go, Diego! Go!, Caillou and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, just to name a few. Bryce doesn't have any interest in TV right now. He likes to play with toys and follow Mom around. We both love to play with trucks, cars, tractors and trains. We're your typical boys! Bryce still only has 5 teeth! Mommy can't believe it, but everyone keeps saying that the longer it takes for his teeth to come in the more healthy they'll be and the less problems he'll have. Let's hope so!
We hope everyone is having a great holiday season and hope you'll check in often! We're going to be finishing decorating the house and will post pictures often throughout the season. Take care and Season's Greetings!
10/25/2006 - Happy Fall everyone! We hope you all are enjoying the weather where you are as much as we are. We are glad to be rid of the sweltering heat of the summer here in Hotlanta and into the beautiful fall weather. It's much more fun to play outside now than it was before. We love the outdoors!
Bryce and I have both been enjoying our preschool and look forward to going every Tuesday and Thursday morning. One way Mom is able to get me to bed at a decent time on Monday and Wednesday nights is to remind me that I'm going to school in the morning and I practically jump right into bed! I have so much fun and Bryce does, too. We're big boys now and don't give Mommy any fuss when she leaves. We walk into our classrooms and don't look back. We know we're going to have fun and Mommy's going to be back for us!
Bryce is now sporting 5 teeth! Mommy can't believe how slow his teeth are coming in. But that's about the only thing that is slow about him! He is all over the place and into everything all the time that Mommy and Daddy have no rest! I have even stepped in as the big brother and let Mommy know when Bryce is doing something he shouldn't - which is a lot! He is a handful! I have my moments, too, of course. I like to test Mommy and Daddy's authority quite a bit, but I am very familiar with time out. I know what that is and I sit very well because I go there a lot. Bryce doesn't know what it is yet but I have a feeling he'll be learning just as soon as possible!
Maw Maw (aka Grandma C) came to visit and take care of us for about a week in the beginning of October so that Mommy could attend her post-license training. It all paid off too because Mommy got her first listing!!!! She is so excited and now just nervous about making sure her clients are happy. She'll be fine though. We all have faith in her! We had such a great time with Maw Maw! Mommy would call about twice a day though to check on her and make sure we hadn't tied her up! We really enjoyed spending time with her and miss her lots! Come back and see us again soon, Maw Maw!
We're getting ready for Halloween and can't wait for all the candy! I'm going to be a cowboy and Bryce is probably going to be an Indian. Mommy was going to try to create Bryce's costume but might just scrap it all together and just buy a costume for him. Look for the pictures after we go trick-or-treating to see what the final outcome was. We had a lot of fun at the Apple Festival in Ellijay this past weekend with Peepaw and Grandma B and then to the pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins. It was such a long day and we all slept good that night!
Thank you all for visiting our website and leaving such nice comments for us all the time. We enjoy reading them as much as you all enjoy visiting! Take care, happy fall, and happy Halloween!!
09/07/06 - OK, OK, OK, so as the old saying goes, better late than never, right? Sorry it's been so long since we've updated you all on the happenings in the Bessho household. August was a busy month for us. As you all heard, Mommy got her real estate license in July and in the beginning of August she signed on with Prudential Georgia Realty. You can visit her website at:
www.laynebessho.prudentialgeorgia.com
If you or anyone you know needs real estate help, let her know! Even if you're out of state, she can refer you to an agent that can help you in your area. OK, OK, enough marketing! She's been busy trying to get her business up and running.
We are doing good and Bryce and I are growing like crazy. He still only has the 4 teeth but should be getting the rest of them in before too long. I'm doing good at pre-school and have learned the letters A & B and the colors red and black and this month we're working on the color orange. I like going to school and get excited when Mommy tells me I'm going. Bryce likes to go, too, and has gotten used to being away from Mommy for a little while. He's used to his teacher and his classmates now to where he walks right in and Mommy just slips away. I sometimes still have trouble with Mommy leaving me but that's just because I want her to know I'm going to miss her. I toughen up at soon as she's gone, though. We love it there.
Daddy and Mommy are both doing good. Daddy still loves the work that he does and we love that we get to see him at home at a decent time and get to spend time with him. We hope you all are doing well, too!
On Aug. 7, Bryce started Parents Morning Out and I started pre-school! We go to that at a local church twice a week, so that gives Mommy a little bit of time to do some of her real estate stuff. It's kind of overwhelming for her but she's excited about it!
On Aug. 12, we loaded up the van and went on our family vacation to Panama City Beach, Florida! We had such a great time! Thanks to Aunt Brittany, Peepaw (something Kyle just blurted out of nowhere at the beach and has been calling Grandpa B ever since) and Peemaw (who does NOT want to be called this...hahaha), I learned to swim while we were there. Mommy and Daddy had a date night so the rest of us went to the pool that evening. Aunt Brittany told me I couldn't get in the pool until I put on my floaties/water wings. I pouted for a little while because I wanted to do what I wanted to do, but eventually I gave in and put them on all by myself and jumped in! From there it was smooth sailing! You couldn't get me out of the water! I love the water so much now and all I want to do is swim. Bryce tried it out, too, and did good also. He swam well with the floaties and another floating device that attached to his front and back side. We're like little fish now! The excitement of the trip came one night after Bryce and I were already asleep, Mommy had fallen asleep early, and Daddy and the others were just headed to bed around 11:00 p.m after watching a movie. Peepaw just happened to go outside out front of the condo we were staying in and noticed the fire alarm lights were flashing and people were out in the parking lot!! Peemaw told Daddy and got Mommy up, they scooped us up and we all trekked down 14 flights of stairs to the parking lot. Moments later the fire trucks arrived and after not even 5 minutes they told us it was safe to return to our rooms! They did their check and said they didn't find any fire. All that for no fire!!!!! So, up the elevator we went (heck no, we didn't take the stairs!) and back to bed. What a night! It was a lot of fun at the beach and we can't wait to go to the beach again next year. Mommy and Daddy laugh because every now and then I say to them "Beach?," and they tell me next year. I guess I can wait.
