To everyone visiting my site, welcome. My parents created this site to keep all of our friends & family {both near & far} updated on my journey from conception to birth and beyond. To those making the journey with us, feel free to come in, look around, and leave us a comment or sign our guestbook.

Sit back, relax and watch me grow!!!

♦ Recent News ♦

Oh, have we been busy. We went up to my parents' place in NE Missouri around the middle of January, an unexpected trip due to a death in the family. On our way back home I discovered that Dakota was cutting a tooth. So, the middle of January brought us our first tooth. Approximately two weeks later, we got another tooth (both of the middle front teeth on the bottom). About two weeks after that, we got two more teeth (at the same time), these were the middle front teeth on the top. We're currently trying to break through four more on the top. You can just barely see some white, but they haven't broken through yet.

Also, we've learned to crawl forward - finally. We went backwards for a long time, but we've finally mastered forwards. Now that we can crawl, we're always on the move to see what we can find or get into. We're also pulling ourself to a stand along items: sofa, chairs. We're beginning to edge along those things, but not real big into walking at this point. We're feeling out the situation at the moment. He forgets occasionally and actually lets go, but then he wobbles and falls down.

We've added a new album to the pictures page: Dakota Various - 8 Month.

♦ My Videos ♦

(If you want to hear the sound in the videos without the music playing in the background, you need to mute the background music. To do this, there is a slidebar at the bottom center of the screen (this is the background music). To the left of the "X" on the right end of the bar is a speaker icon with the volume bars. If you click directly on the speaker icon it will mute the background music).

Baby to Love

Beginning with the moment we learned you were on the way,

You stole both our hearts from that very first day.

From that moment on our love for you grew,

Whether boy or girl no one yet knew.

Almost from the start our troubles began,

But giving you life was always our plan.

Struggles and fears paved a long rocky road,

Yet you continued to thrive in your humble abode.

Despite all odds our journey progressed,

So as expecting parents we readied the nest.

Just two weeks early was your time to come,

At the end of the day we’re blessed with a son.

We waited and watched and then our time came,

The moment we held you our lives weren’t the same.

The joy of your arrival was the news to share,

With all family and friends that would always be there.

We brought you home and settled you in,

We love you now as we loved you then.

Watching you learn and watching you grow,

We love you more than you’ll ever know.

It’s amazing to us how the time flies by,

You’ve gone from our little boy to our big guy.

We’ve seen the wonder of many learned firsts,

Watching you discover our hearts could just burst.

You’re face is handsome and disposition sunny,

You laugh from your belly as if everything’s funny.

Into our lives you’ve introduced new things,

We look forward to seeing what each new year brings.

Into our lives we’ve brought you my dear,

Ever losing you is our greatest fear.

We don’t know what the future may hold,

But you’ve blessed our lives more than diamond or gold.

We thank God in the heavens above,

For blessing us with our sweet baby to love.

Mar. 12, 2010 -  Well, here we are once again. We're going to keep this short if I can, but still hit the high points.   Dakota has been battling a lot of congestion this winter, so we've done a bunch of nebulizer breathing treatments; as of this week, he's doing much better.   We're learning so many new things. Jan. 12, 2010 -  Hello again everyone, welcome back. Let's do a quick catch up, shall we?   On December 23, 2009 we opened presents with Dakota at our home. It was so much fun watching him open his presents. He got pretty good at ripping the packages open. I think it was the colorful paper that drew his attention, but it was still fun...

Oct. 12, 2009 - Hi everyone, it's update time again. There really isn't a whole lot to tell this time. For those of you that have been following along, on our last update, we had just begun using some antibiotic eye drops on Dakota's eyes. Well, as of this weekend, we've completed the cycle for those, but they really didn't do anything. I'm not for...

Thanks for the update on Dakota. I am sure everything is going great. Glad the transition to Daycare and Mommy back to work went well. It is hard to leave them but it helps to know they are in good hands.
I am still waiting for him to come visit me.
