Stories

4/13/2010 Aaron is officially a walker!  He is still hesitant going up and down steps but he’s constantly doing laps around the house.  Aaron has also started with a couple of words.  When there is something he really wants he points in the direction and says “THIS!, THIS!” or “THAT!, THAT!”  When he’s a bit tired the TH is replaced with a D.  Mom is mah mah when he’s happy and when he’s upset it’s mummummumm .  Dad is Dada.

4/3/2010 Time continues to fly by.  We've had a couple of great camping trips.  One of which was in our new trailer.  We have more space for the kids to roam around on the inside and more for us too!  Keira continues to do wonderfully in school.  I just wish we could send her there more often.  She loves it so much and they love her.  Keira got her first haircut in a salon last week.  She had quite a bit taken off but it will be perfect for summer.  She is so proud of it and especially the fact that it was done at a place just for kids.  Aaron is growing by leeps and bounds.  He had a fantastic first birthday with Keira's friends and our family.  It was pouring rain but we managed to have a nice activity area set up in the garage that the kids had a blast in. Aaron new that day was all about him and loved it when we sang him happy birthday.  He really enjoyed everything about that day.  Aaron started walking for Grandpa Mike's birthday last week.  That was a nice present for all.  He continues to gain stability but hasn't quite mastered standing from sitting down and still pulls up on furniture.

2/17/2010 Two whole months have passed.  We've had several camping trips and are getting ready for a big trip to Texas in June/July.
Keira is an amazing spirit.  So social and she and the whole family do not know the meaning of stranger.  Eventually we'll be introduced to the whole world and will in fact be able to tell you how small it really is.  We tried to go to the zoo on Sunday but it was too crowded and there was nowhere to park.  We settled for going to the playground down the road.  When we got there, Keira literally got out of the car and saw this girl walking by. She said "I like your dress, it's very pretty, we're going to the playground you wanna play". To which the little girl replied, "Yeah Nana, I've got a friend to play with". And off they went holding hands all the way up to the playground. Keira knows all of her numbers from 1-20.  She knows all the sounds of the alphabet and is even learning Spanish.  Keira is thriving at preschool and looks forward to every day she gets to go.  She's looking forward to her 4th birthday where she says she's going to be all grown up.  She's really into making exaggerated facial expressions to really emphasize what she's trying to tell you.  Her imagination is also growing too.  She's always telling us stories of how things come to be.  Right now she's also heavily obsessed with being the "mamma" of everyone.  Keira has also been very helpful around the house and is able to do quite a lot.  Lately she's been helping me cook and said someday she would like to go to cooking school with me.
Aaron is also another amazing little creature.  He is also just the most joyful, fun baby.  He'll smile or laugh at anything.  Sometimes he even laughs himself to sleep which is a riot to watch. For the past couple months he's been clapping and somehow he picked up the sign for look or watch.  The only place we can all figure out where he got it was maybe watching one of Keira's shows. Aaron has taken a couple tentative steps but isn't really keen on walking just yet.  He can stand in one place forever.  He loves to stand in the shower with his hands up playing with the water above.  He's also a water baby.  He loves water but prefers it to be warm whereas Keira will go in despite the temperature. He's gotten quite comfortable playing in the bathtub with Keira.  Keira loves having the extra company and Aaron loves to splash her.

12/16/2009 Wow time is flying!  Let's see.....what have we done for the past couple months?  We had an awesome time during the rest of our camping trip.  We visited Bryce and then Escalante National Monument.  Escalante we'll have to come back to as it's so vast and so much to see.  Keira really loved waking up every morning and walking by herself over to Aunt Nancy and Uncle Tom's trailer.  We really enjoyed our morning and evening rituals with them.  We really missed it when we got home.  During this trip Aaron learned to crawl properly.  We expect it's because they have a rug in their trailer and our house has the hard wood floors.  Aaron also learned to shake his head no during the trip.  He enjoyed everyone doing the same thing he was and the fact it made us laugh.  After our travels in Utah we headed to Sedona Arizona to visit with Uncle Ken and Aunt Kim.  Keira and Daddy surprised and confused Uncle Ken with a silly question about halogen fluid.  Keira had fun running around his store.  Uncle Ken says that Keira is a mini version of mom and reminded him of how Mom was when she was a girl.  So full of energy (he doesn't know the half of it!). Aaron greeting Aunt Kim and melted her heart with a big hug and wet kiss.  Which was even more amazing since he was still very clingy to Mom due to his ear infection.  Later that night we met for dinner.  Keira dazzled everyone with her sweet and social personality.  Aaron did much of the same with his sweet big smiles.  It was a short but nice visit.

We managed to make it home in time to celebrate Halloween. We went up to Grandma and Grandpa Crean's house to celebrate.  Keira got to scoop out and carve a pumpkin with Grandma.  She really liked that.  We discovered that Aaron matches pumpkins quite nicely.  Later we dressed up both the kids to go trick-or-treating.  Keira was a purple fairy princess and Aaron was a lion.  Keira had no fear going up to people's houses to get the goods.  Aaron just liked socializing.

A few weeks ago Keira went to her first Birthday Party (just for kids).  We celebrated Cahle's Birthday by painting flower pots, wearing feather boas, and eating cupcakes.  The girls all had a blast hanging out.  Aaron had fun chewing on all the good toys, smiling and socializing.  Later that night we celebrated Mom's birthday party and got to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa Bulat who were only back a week after being in New Zealand for a month!  Both Keira and Aaron were so happy to see them.  Keira had a lot of fun playing with Toree, Danan, Rachel and Emily.  We could barely get the kids to sit down to eat.

We hosted Thanksgiving at our house.  Circumstances allowed both families to celebrate together.  Even a post surgery Auntie Nancy braved our wee house to join us. It was a really nice change of pace and everything was wonderful.

Last Saturday was Keira's 1st Christams recital.  She sang up on the rooftop and a special version of the 5 days of Christmas.  She knew all the words and sang very well.  She had a lot of energy and was so excited to be up on the stage but she stayed in her spot and did all the movements associated with the song.  Mom and Dad were very proud and happy to see her shine.

Aaron's latest achievements:  Now has a total of 5 and almost 6 teeth that have come through with many more standing in line.  Aaron has been pulling up on the sofa and other objects to a stand.  He hasn't quite mastered the shuffle to move around those objects but is almost there.  Mom has found him in a squatting position on both feet a couple of times so she thinks he's going to just launch any day.

10/20/09 We had a goodbye dinner with Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Gedy last week.  Grandma and Grandpa Bulat are leaving for a whole month to travel to New Zealand.   While at dinner Aaron learned how to drink through a straw and learned the same way Mom taught Keira.  We told him he's getting all of his formula that way, he didn't find it funny.  That same night Keira went into her own stall of the bathroom and went all by herself, such a big girl.   Needless to say she's been a bit independent lately.  Sunday Aaron's first tooth broke through.  Looks like another one is going to come through today.  Today Keira learned how to ride her big girl bike and is doing REALLY well.  Dad adjusted her bike seat since she's grown so much and it seemed to make a big difference.  She is even braking very well on the down hill.  Today Aaron learned how to sit up all by himself.  Looks like the kids are both going to make some progress.  Oh!  I forgot to mention while Grandma and Grandpa are out of town, half of the time we'll be camping.  Right now we're staying in Zion until Thursday and we'll be moving on to Bryce Canyon and possible a couple other places.  When we return Aunt Nancy and Uncle Tom and then Grandma Pat will be watching the kids for a couple weeks.

9/30/09 We've had a busy few weeks with lots of activities.  Last Saturday Mom took Keira to see her first movie in the theater.  Keira was enamored by the experience and how big everything was.  She enjoyed the 1st half of the movie but got sleepy about halfway through.  After we walked to look at puppies and played with some golf clubs in a sporting goods store.  Keira was very tired from the experience but she had a nice afternoon out with just Mom. Last week Keira had her first school picture taken.  We loved the samples we got and ordered some for the family.  She is doing really well in school.  So well in fact that they will be moving her up a class.  We'll find out more next week what that means and what her new experiences will be.  We are so proud!

Aaron has become quite social.  He loves to make different sounds and to interact with people in conversation. He's quite good at saying Momma.  Particularly when he gets stressed out.  We haven't decided if he's saying it deliberately but it's fairly consistent.  Aaron has also become quite the crawler.  He's still doing an army crawl but that doesn't stop him from scooting around the entire house in a flash!  He has been getting up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth but no real action just yet.  He's so long he's able to reach things so well from just the floor, we're a little nervous of what he's going to be capable of when he can walk!

9/6/09  Happy Birthday Daddy!  To celebrate Keira and Mom made waffles for Dad.  Aaron decided it was time to learn to crawl, and has begun with an army crawl.  He crawled the width of the living room to his toys.  Way to go Aaron!

8/12/09 Last weekend we had a BIG celebration of Grandma and Grandpa Bulat's 40th wedding anniversary.  Keira was a bit shy and clingy at first but quickly warmed up to all the attention and played with Toree, Danan and Teddy.  She had a blast and stayed up SUPER late, all the way until midnight.  Aaron did really well, smiling for everyone and letting almost anyone hold him.  He made the rounds, charming his way through the crowds.

Yesterday was Aaron's 4 month checkup (at 5 months).  He's gone down in weight some and is now 15lbs 15 oz. and 27" long.  He's got nice thick thighs but the rest of his body is proportioned just right and he's super long.  He cried a bit during his shots but quickly came around to being his smiley self.  Later last night we went to Uncle John and Aunt Jess' house for a birthday dinner for Grandma Pat.  They cooked a great meal, we stuffed faces and sang happy birthday.

8/3/09 We've had a very busy few weeks.  Last month we flew out to Minnesota for Danika and Daniel's wedding.  Both of the kids did really well on the plane.  Aaron only fussed at the beginning of taxiing to the runway. Keira loved talking to the guy behind her and reporting what she was seeing.
We arrived just in time for the Groom's Dinner.  It was complete with good food, lots of family, and fun.  Keira and Aaron got to meet Avery and Kadence got to meet Aaron.  We stayed at Danika's house the whole time we were there.  Kadence let Keira sleep in her big girl bed which was just like Keira's at home.  Aaron wasn't keen on Avery's crib and slept with us on our air mattress. Keira and Kadence got along really well. The one night that Kadence stayed the night somewhere else Keira was upset in the morning not to find her there.  Mom enjoyed having another red head (Avery) and she seemed enamored with Aaron.

The following morning we went to Danika's bridal shower and had a really great breakfast.  More fun and silliness was to be had.  Keira enjoyed playing with Reagan and Kadence in the wagon like they did the night before.  After we went back for naps.  Mom and Dad watched Kadence, Avery, Keira & Aaron.  All the kids slept very well, maybe a little too well in Kadence's case as she had trouble sleeping later that night.  Mom loved cuddling the two red heads on her lap.  The girls played so well before hand running up and down the hallway they tired themselves out so nicely.  Later that night we joined Grandma & Grandpa Crean, John, Jess, Mary and Reagan for dinner.  Afterward we played in their neighboring hotel's playground. We played on the swings, slides, and even played some basketball.  Mom and Dad went out to do some shopping while Keira and Reagan had a nice bath.

Saturday was the big wedding day!  We woke up pretty late as Keira had been exhausted from all the activity.  The wedding was beautiful but very chilly.  Apparently we experienced the coldest temperatures ever for that time of year.  Something that none of us were prepared for clothing wise.  After the wedding we drove to the reception where Keira danced, and Aaron snuggled most everyone.  Keira had so much fun playing with all the kids.  She did however tucker out quite early so we headed back to the house to crash.

Sunday we met up with the family for brunch.  The girls played while everyone chatted and ate.  We later took some great family pictures. After brunch we drove around stopping off at the dam.  We viewed the dam while Keira played on the really great playground.  We drover around more seeing Grandpa's old farm house, neighborhoods and towns.  We went out to dinner with the family and had a surprisingly great meal.  After dinner we started heading back on a remote road.  Aaron was hungry so we pulled over and watched the fireflies.  That was the first time Mom and Keira saw them.  It was quite magical.

Monday we flew home.  Keira slept just shy of landing so she got to see us coming through the clouds and the city coming up.  We had a hard time keeping her in her seat for safety reasons because she was enjoying it so much.

Last Saturday we had Keira's big 3 birthday party.  She wore herself out in the pool and had so much fun with the kids.  But once again, she was too tired to open presents with the exception of one from Maretta and Craig.  She got lots of great gifts, including a special gift from Grandpa and Grandma Bulat, Aunt Nancy & Uncle Tom and Gedy and Kristen.  They all bought her a great big swing set which will be delivered later. Grandpa wrote her a note under the picture of the swing promising to set it up when it arrives.  She doesn't understand how that's exciting or why mom is so thrilled but I'm sure she'll understand how cool it is when she's riding on it.

Aaron is getting bigger by the day.  We keep threatening to weigh him but haven't recently.  He's super long and as of last month was 16 pounds.  He's lifting his head up with ease. He's starting to pull his knees up under him but hasn't really taken that first knee step yet.  He does however roll back and forth, and is very successful at scooting across the room. Mom has nightmares of him bypassing crawling and walking and just going straight to running.  We'll see how close that truly is.  Aaron has also started really talking.  He makes lots of sounds but his regular sound is "ba ba" which converts to "ma ma" when he gets upset.  He's still just a really smiley and happy baby.  Keira is still so in love with him.  She thanked me for having a baby brother just for her last week and said she really loves him.

7/15/09 Wow time is just flying with two and all the activities we've been up to lately.  I have to look back at the pictures to remember it all.  Good thing we document well in that department.

Keira is thriving at her new school.  The teachers love her and she loves the school.  She's still adjusting to being there all day and is a bit clingy before and after school but talks excitedly about the days events.

Last month we went to Bill and Donna's wedding up in Palos Verdes.  The church, the wedding, the reception were all beautiful.  Both of the kids did really well through the ceremony.  Keira made some friends after it was over and we got some great shots of her running.  Aaron was just happy to be hanging on Mom's hip during all the chaos.  He had fun watching his big sister run around though.  At the reception Keira danced, and danced, and danced.  She apparently picked this up from her mother who did the same thing at Al and Patty's wedding years ago.  Keira partied until 10pm and was willing to keep going.  She had so much fun and we had fun watching her.

Last weekend we went camping up to Dos Picos.  It was HOT but we ended up having a lot of fun.  The campground had a lot of small children, big beautiful oak trees, a lake with fish and ducks and the BIGGEST of playgrounds.  What more could you ask for?  Keira had a blast and was so good for us even though she had very little sleep.  Aaron was as easy going as ever.  He liked watching Keira run around and being outside.  At night we saw little bats chasing after bugs and even a sattelite while we were watching the stars.  Saturday morning it was a bit warm to do much so we drove to town for some ice cream and water guns.  Keira LOVED playing with the water guns and having mom and dad chase her around the camper.  Poor Aaron just got soaked, we couldn't let him miss out on the fun.  Aaron also got his first camper bath in the sink.  We don't think he'll fit in there as long as Keira did as he's already more than half her height!

Tomorrow we're off to Minnie-Soda for Dannika and Daniels wedding.  This will be Aaron's first flight and Keira's 3rd.  Thankfully John and Jess will be traveling with us to keep Keira entertained and give her a change of venue.  Keira is just excited she gets to go to another wedding and DANCE!

6/23/09 Keira had her 1st day at her new school yesterday.  She's going to La Mesa United Methodist which offers a real preschool with a wonderful, structured program.  Mom made her a special blanket that is just for school for her naps there.  She had her first full day with nap yesterday and did very well.  Apparently a girl named Katie was injured on the playground and was crying.  Keira consoled her and gave her lots of hugs.  She and Katie are now best friends and were inseperable during the day.  The teachers said Keira was very helpful and very friendly and did really well.

Aaron made a couple of new achievements last week.  He's now rolling over from front to back and back to front with ease.  He's also tolerating being on his tummy a bit more now. His neck is plenty strong despite the lack of time on his tummy.  His favorite thing to do is to hold on your fingers and stand up on your lap.  This makes him quite happy.  Last week Mom was jumping up and down with him in her arms and Aaron let out a big giggle.  Mom kept jumping and Aaron broke out into full blown laughter.  He has the best, most infectious laugh.  We've been hearing him laugh for a while but it was only while he was asleep.  We LOVE that he's doing it while awake now. We spend most of our time with him trying to figure out what will get him to do it again.

6/9/09 Mom had her first week back at work and Aaron had his first week with Grandma and Grandpa.  Both of us did really well.  Aaron has also adapted to drinking from a bottle quite well.  So much so in fact that he drinks more than Mom produces.  He's up to 13 ounces a day while at their house.  Aaron learned how to roll over from his back to his front last week.  He's not to happy with the outcome since he does not like being on his belly.  This also means we haven't had too much time to discover the ability to roll over from his front to back, but we'll get there!  Keira was in heaven to be back at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  Especially since they were gone for the past couple of weeks on vacation.  She adjusted very well considering she no longer had both of their undivided attention.  It's nice that they can tag team to make sure she's occupied and happy.

5/26/09 We just registered Keira for a new school.  We think she'll do very well there.  The preschool she's at now is more of a daycare so she's regressing a little bit.  She's so darn smart she needs a challenge!  The new school will give her just that.  She starts at La Mesa Methodist on June 22nd and will be going full days vs. half days.  We're excited and she just loves the playground.
This past weekend Mom and Keira planted a very small vegetable garden.  Keira was into watering the plants but will get the full effect when things (hopefully) start bearing veggies.  We water them every day and note how much they've grown.

Aaron is growing more and more.  He seems heavier every time I pick him up.  He smiles at everything.  He has also turned into quite the momma's boy.  He's not too thrilled about going to other people lately, with the exception of Dad and Keira.  This week he really starting talking more and more.  He'll maintain a conversation for several minutes.  He does not really get very much tummy time since he likes to be held so much but did a 180 in his bassinet and flipped to the opposite shoulder when he was down for a nap.

Last week Mom, Keira and Aaron joined Dad in LA while he was scanning frequencies for work.  We got to see the LA Farmer's Market and the Grove, La Brea Tarpits and the firehouse from Dad's favorite show as a kid, "Emergency". Both kids did really well on the trip.  Especially since Mom could fit in the backseat in Dad's roomy truck.  We all had a really great time.

5/17/09 Maternity leave has almost come to an end.  I have had so much fun with Keira and Aaron.  I've really begun to get a handle on doing the day to day stuff with the two of them.  Keira is a HUGE help and really enjoys being a big sister.

Last month we spent a long weekend traveling to Sonoma for Miss Reagan's 1st birthday.  It took about a day and a half to get up and back but both kids were really good.  Keira was amazing handling all the excitement with little or no sleep.  We camped on the way up and back as well as in front of Nonna and Papa Tuck's house.  Aaron did amazingly well and actually slept most of the way back.  Keira got a really nasty cold but was in pretty good spirits.  After a great afternoon celebrating Reagan's birthday we drove out to Calistoga to meet up with Mommy's cousin Danielle.  Keira really took to Danielle and Aaron was sweet and cuddly with her.  We unfortunately didn't get to spend much time with her but we did have a nice dinner and walk.  The next day we went to Beringer winery tour for Uncle John's birthday.  Both kids were very patient and Keira even found someone to play with during the end of the tour.

Last week Aaron had his two month well baby visit.  He is HUGE!  He now weighs 12.9 pounds and is 23 3/4 inches long. He's obviously a great eater.  His personality is really beginning to show.  He loves to be held and cuddled and doesn't tolerate being left alone in any one place for very long.  If he's been fed and is clean he loves to socialize and cuddle with anyone who will have him.  Aaron is also very strong.  He is already doing push ups and can get his shoulders well into the air.  He also can do a full sit up from laying down on his back with a slight incline.  Last week Grandma Cheryl watched him while Mom went to the gym for the first time in months.  He did pretty well.  He was only slightly fussy but won't really take a bottle.  He'll get a crash course when Mom goes back to work in a couple weeks.

Last Sunday we had a very nice Mother's Day celebration.  We made brunch for Grandmothers/Mom's. Keira and Aaron enjoyed the audience (mostly Keira).  Aaron shared all his new wonderful smiles.  Last Wednesday Mom took the kids to work for a retirement potluck for one of her bosses.  Both of them did really well.  Keira had fun playing with Mom's friends and Aaron loved being passed around and cuddled.

4/20/2009 Happy post Birthday Grandma Cheryl! Saturday we celebrated Grandma Cheryl's birthday.  Aaron got lots of family cuddles while Keira played with Toree and Danan.  Both of the girls were exhausted from spending all day at Knott's Berry Farm the day before but managed to keep up with and entertain Keira.  Despite leaving at such a late hour, both kids had a great time and did really well.
Sunday was supposed to be miserably warm at home so we packed up the car and trailer and spent all day at the beach.  The water was freezing but it didn't faze Keira one bit.  She rode her boogie board, splashed in the waves and played in the sand.  In the afternoon Cahle joined Keira for more splashing and playing in the sand.  The girls had a blast and did really well despite not having naps.  Later Mom made dinner and we ate and watched the sun set.  It was a gorgeous day.
Friday was Aaron's 1st trip to the zoo. He mostly relaxed in the stroller while big Sis ran around enjoying the animals. We were only there for a couple hours but enjoyed our time before the heat kicked in.
Aaron started really smiling this week.  Although it's quite elusive when I try to capture a picture of it. In the past couple days he has also added some really sweet cooing sounds.

4/11/09 Last weekend was Aaron's first camping trip.  The weather was very chilly but we all had a great time.  Aaron did really well with the altitude despite having a slight cold.  Keira also had a cold but isn't the least bit aware of it when she's having fun.  We got to go on a nice hike on Saturday morning.  Keira walked all the way to the lake and almost all the way back on her own.  She is quite the trail blazer as it was almost three miles.  Aaron slept really well both evenings and Keira enjoyed sleeping in her tent.  Keira also likes to hang out in Grandma and Grandpa's trailer as it's small enough to be her own personal playhouse.

Today Keira went to her first Easter Egg hunt.  It didn't take long for her to get the concept of finding eggs but she wanted to linger to see what she got in them before moving on.  This also meant we didn't come home with an abundance of candy which we were quite happy with.  Mom's friend Mandie from work brought her daughter Cahle.  She is only a few months younger than Keira.  They seemed to hit it off really well.  Cahle also got to meet and hold Aaron.  Both Cahle and Keira took turns driving an electric Mustang around the yard. Although both were too concerned with the radio to do any proper driving.  Keira also went into a jumper for the first time and loved it.  She got quite daring and did some great stunts down the slide.

4/2/09 Oops, I'm falling behind already.  Mom isn't sleeping well but thankfully Mr. Aaron is thriving.  We had his 3.5 week check up on Monday.  He is already back at 9 pounds 10 ounces.  Aaron is starting to really giggle a coo in is sleep. We can't wait for the time he actually does it for us while he's awake.
Last week Auntie Mary and Reagan came down for a visit. Both of them fell in love with Aaron.  Reagan was absolutely fascinated with him.  Keira was all too proud to show him off.  Keira and Reagan had a blast playing with each other throughout the week and Aaron got lots of cuddles from everyone.

3/22/09 Aaron is now two weeks old.  We can't believe how time flies.  We were surprised to find that we were not too far out of practice with a newborn.  We however can't get over how much Keira has grown.  Having tiny Aaron really puts it into perspective.  Keira absolutely loves being a big sister.  She still can't get enough of him and constantly tells Aaron how much she loves him.  She's enjoyed bragging to her classmates about having a baby brother.  Mom has also made a couple of appearances at her school with Aaron so she can show him off.  We've also had a few family visits and he is quite content cuddling in everyone's arms.
Keira is having difficulty leaving Aaron's side to do independent things.  She sits by our sides, eagerly awaiting her next opportunity to hold him.  She is just now starting to play nearby and now believes that he is not going away and her turn to hold him will come again soon enough.
We have had a couple of family outings to run some errands.  It's a bit more of an undertaking that we expected, but a lot of fun being a bigger family.  Keira is very helpful and likes to stay by Aaron's side which eases our stress quite a bit.  She loves riding in the double stroller with him which is something very new for her.  Aaron on the other hand is not to keen on his car seat and would rather be held.  Aaron is a very easy going baby, he fusses very little and loves to be cuddled.
Aaron's demands for milk at the 24 hour mark were astronomical. Mom actually supplemented with formula to keep up with his demands for days 2 and 3 while her milk came in.  Since he was feeding so heavily mom's milk came in with a vengeance and now she's producing enough to feed him and the neighborhood.  He has learned to eat really well and is putting his weight back on nicely.  He lost 9 oz by his 4 day appointment but we're certain he's already exceeded his birth weight.

3/10/2009 On Friday evening, about 6:45 we were all having a very funny family moment, which made mom's water break. We called L&D and they said to come on down. Keira was picked up by her grandparents and we went to the hospital. After 20 hours of labor, and 3.5 hours of pushing Aaron still was no closer to being born. Mom decided that she had no energy left and decided on a c-section. With the help of an assertive doctor Mom had to push really hard for only 15 minutes more.  Aaron finally made his entrance into the world at 4:08 PM Saturday, March 7th. He was 8 lbs. 9 oz., 22" long. His APGAR score was 8, 9.
Just after the birth, Keira along with Grandpa and Grandma Bulat came to visit Aaron.  Keira instantly fell in love.  We had been preparing her for his arrival for months which paid off.  She absolutely can't keep her hands off of him and stop kissing him.  Grandpa filmed a video that captured how much she loves her little brother.  Keira spent three nights with Grandma and Grandpa and did really well.  That was very difficult not to see her for that long but we were happy she was entertained and got to rest.

3/5/09 Well Mr. Aaron, you missed your birthday.  I guess we'll celebrate your birth sometime next week.  Mom is scheduled to be induced on March 11th.  We tried to give you a fair shot at coming out on your own but you are far to warm and comfy.  I have a feeling that you are going to appreciate swaddling for a few months given your extremely tight living quarters lately.  I hope that means you'll be a serious snuggler.  That would be nice.
