Stories

Jaxon has had 2 trips to the doctor.  He is doing great!!  He had lost a few pounds after birth, but he gained them back by the first dr. visit, and by the 2nd visit he weighed 6 lbs. 4 oz.  He definitely likes to eat!!  He also likes to stay up for several hours late at night, so we are not getting too much sleep.  His Grandma and Granddaddy have been here visiting, and that has been a big help.  Actually Grandma (or Gwennie, as she likes to be called) has been here for 3 weeks.  They are going home tomorrow and we will miss them terribly, but hopefully they will be back soon.  I don't know what I would have done without my Momma here to help me all these weeks!!!

Jaxon Franklin Doyle has finally arrived.  We checked in on March 30th for my scheduled induction.  After being in labor for 24 hours no progress was made, so my doctor decided it would be best for a C-Section.  I didn't want a C-section, but after all this, I was up for it:)  Craig was able to be there with me, and it was great that he had those first moments with our son.  He got lots of pictures and was able to cut the cord.  Jaxon was 5 lbs. and 10oz.  and seemed to be doing great except for a little grunting.  After we went back to my recovery room, he was able to try breastfeeding for the first time.  He did pretty well but was still grunting.  Although the grunting was cute, they indicated that he was having a little trouble breathing well, and this is why he was grunting.  They decided that he needed to take a trip to the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit).  We had hoped it would be a short trip, but he ended up staying a full week.  I was able to go home on the Friday following my C-Section, but Jaxon had to wait until the next Tuesday.  We made daily trips to spend time with him, as his lungs matured.  We are so happy to have him safe at home.  He is the most adorable little man, and he looks just like his Daddy (except he has his Momma's lips:)

A lot has happened since my last posting.  I had to quit work early and go on strict bed rest due to my blood pressure being high.  My doctor also informed me I had mild preeclampsia.  She said we should get ready to deliver early around 36 weeks.  Mom and Craig had a surprise planned, and they both knew Mom was coming for a visit before the birth.  Once I found out about my condition, Momma had to tell me she was coming after I repeatly told her I needed some help, as I was not ready for the baby.  I expected to have until April 25th to finish my baby shopping, but now that was not the case.  She arrived March 11th, and she went with Craig and I to my dr. appt.  I now have a regular dr. appt and a high risk dr. appt. every week.  While she was here mom attended those appts with me, since Craig had to work most days.  She and Craig worked hard to get everything ready for Jaxon, and it was a great relief to us to have Mom here.  Mom went home on March 20th, while I was unfortunately in the hospital.  I had an incident where my BP was climbing, and I could not get it down.  I was in for 2 days, but released after maintaining my BP.

Today, March 23rd, I went back to the doctor for my regular check with my OB.  Craig and I were hoping to wait until April 1st, but my doctor said we are going March 30th, next Monday.  I can't believe in one week, we are going to have a baby.  We are both beyond excited!!

Well, we all know I'm not the best at keeping this website updated.  I should have done so much more in the 2nd trimester because once I hit the 3rd, things got much more difficult.  I have had some issues with my blood pressure, swelling and carpal tunnel, but I am trying to stay on top of things.  Going to a low-sodium diet has proved most challenging.  Didn't realize just how much my salt intake was.  Part of that has to be a "southern" thing. You know we like our food flavorful!!  Just trying to eat right and take it easy when I can.  It's difficult with work being as demanding as it is now, but I am trying.

The baby is doing great, and he is really moving in there.  I finally saw movement from the outside, and boy was that strange.  I really do enjoy his movement, and I do think it is something I will miss.  My cousin, Brooke, told me that, but I could never believe it.  We had our first Birth and Breathing Class last week, and I have to say it scared me to death.  Tonight we go back, and the topic of discussion is Pain Management and Epidurals.  Yea!!  I can't wait for that.  I'm thinking it may ease my mind a little.  Craig seems to enjoy the class too, and we are learning so much that we didn't know.

We have the bed, dresser and glider/ottoman ordered, and they should be in soon.  As soon  as I can get the nursery completed, I will post pics.  I think it is going to come out really cute.

Hope everyone is doing well, and we can't wait to see you all!!!   Much love!!!

We hope everyone had a great holiday and only wish the best for your New Year!  Monday before Christmas I had another ultrasound scheduled to check the features not fully developed in the last visit.  It went well, and everything was completely normal:)  We are always extremely happy to hear that!  I am starting to feel him more and more everyday, and we are getting so excited for his arrival.  Hopefully soon, I'll be able to call him by name, but we are not 100% sure on the full name yet.  Stay tuned.....

To all our family and friends, we miss you all so much, but never more than at the holidays.  Hope it was a special one.  MUCH LOVE TO ALL!!

The day I have been waiting for finally arrived.  We had our Ultrasound scheduled Nov. 26th, which happened to be Craig's birthday.  He decided the night before to find out with me what the sex was going to be.  He thought it may cause me a little undue stress trying to keep that secret.  We both had it in our heads that we were having a little girl, so boy (no pun intended) were we suprised when we saw the anatomy.  It's definitely a boy!!  We are so excited to have a little man to share our lives with.  They went through many other anatomy checks, but with me being only 18 weeks, the lips and heart valves were too difficult to see well.  For that reason, I get to have another ultrasound in 4 weeks just so they check those items off.  I'm just glad to be able to see him again.   Craig and I are both on vacation, so we plan to get started on the nursery and registering.  In fact, we have already went out and bought the nursery bedding and a few accessories.  I have always wanted a jungle room, so with a little boy, makes it easy.  It is all so cute, and I will share soon.  We had a quiet little Thanksgiving with just the 2 of us, but I cooked lots of food.  Wish we could have spent time with family, but all in due time:)  Love to all!!

I know it has been sometime since my last posting:)  The morning sickness had passed!!  Yea.  Can't tell you all how excited I am about that.  I feel great except for the minor aches and pains of this growing belly, and boy is it growing.  I will soon post a pic of my stomach profile.  I have had early genetic testing and AFP bloodwork done, and both tests came back completely normal, so we are very happy for that.  My doctor, only as a precautionary tactic, had me go to a cardiologist because of some past issues experienced.  I will soon have all those results, and I will be sure to let ya'll know.  Craig & I went to our first prenatal class called "Growing your baby."  Very interesting and a little scary, but we had fun.  Craig was one of the few fathers who asked several questions, and I didn't expect any different.  He's definitely not shy:)  Next week, on November 26 (also Craig's b-day) we go for our next Ultrasound.  This will be Craig's first time seeing the baby, and we can find out the sex.  I can't wait, but Craig is still trying for the surprise.  Anyone that knows me, knows this will be an almost impossible task for me, but I will try as long as I can to keep the secret.  As soon as I find out, I am going to register and prepare the nursery.  Craig will help with the nursery, but it will be limited, as it is going to be gender specific.  We hope everyone is doing well, as we head into the holiday season.  Look for more posts soon.  Our Love to all!!!

and P.S. We want to welcome Harper Briley and Junuh Grey into the world!!  Congrats Brooke and Steve.  They are 2 of the most beautiful babies I have seen:)

You may know already, but Craig and I are expecting our first baby April 25th of next year.  We are very excited but also terrified:)  I'm sure we will figure it all out, but it can be a little daunting taking care of a little one when you don't have any experience.  I have been to the OB/GYN twice now, and everything is going well with baby.  Can't say the same for me, as "morning" sickness has taken over, but I know it all be worth it in the end!  The baby's heartbeat is very strong with a beat of 161 bpm as of yesterday.  The baby also is moving around quite a bit as seen on the ultrasound yesterday, but of course, I can't feel anything yet.  I can't wait to feel it move for the 1st time or to find out the sex.  We really don't care if it's a boy or girl, just want a healthy baby.  We both wish we were closer to family in Georgia, Texas & Oklahoma, but maybe this can keep everyone included in the experience.  Thanks for sharing this with us.  Love to all!!
