Stories Sept 21,2009 - What a great summer! We've really made the most of it and will continue to do so! Since May, we've been to Ontario to visit my sister, to Strathmore to visit Nathan's sister, then we had both families here in August. We love our family and wish we could see them more often. We've also done a few other road trips. Kenosee with Karen & Tyrell, what a beautiful place! We had a great time with them, Cam's favourite part of his summer was the waterslides there. Then to PA to visit Cory, Terra, River, Jaxon & Emma! Watching all our little rugrats together was priceless. We made a day trip to Waskesiu also with the Shaw's. Nathan got his golfing in plus we got our shopping fix...end of the season sales 50-75% off!!! One of my fav moments was going to Saskatoon to Pat & Christa's wedding, Nathan & I danced! We love to dance and haven't since Cam was a little baby! That felt great, I love 2-stepping with my hubby!
We still have another trip to Sakatoon planned but this time without the kids!! Our first night alone without the babies. We are going to see Keith Urban! Then this weekend, we'll make up for time lost with the boys and all go see the backyardigans!
Curling season is just around the corner, we hope to get out and watch Nathan as much as we can. Cam has also started gymnastics again and Emily has started her classes, so I'll do Yoga with her. Yep, we're busy enough!
I'll try to get more pics of all our summer fun downloaded asap!
Have a good one!
July 20th, 2009 - We've been having a great summer, as you can see from the pictures! The zoo, the beach or just in out backyard...we've been soaking up the sun. Nathan has transformed our backyard into a little paradise for both mommy & the boys, so we're outside alot. Cam is growing into a great little boy, I couldn't ask for a better little man. The word tantrum isn't his his vocabulary. He loves playing in the water and digging in the sand. He's just a pleasure and so much fun. Little Easton isn't so little anymore. He's just about walking on his own but when he wants to get somewhere fast he prefers to crawl which he can do at lightening speed! We're planning his first birthday...tear. Easton loves to give hugs and kisses, he's very sweet. We're cherishing every minute with our boys. This update we want to dedicate to daddy - for father's day and just to say we love you! You are the best daddy in the world!! Camryn loves reading with his daddy, he can even finish the sentences in his fav books and read along with daddy. Cam looks forward to his 'daddy-time' and can't wait for him to come home from work everyday. Easton loves cuddling anf kissing daddy. Daddy is the only one Easton will fall asleep with by just cuddling. Easton gets the biggest smile on his face when daddy walks into the room! Both boys love to wrestle their daddy and pretend he is a horse and ride him around the house. Well, Cam rides and Easton is the pony the follows behind! As for Mommy, I don't know what I would do without our daddy - I love you! HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! May 22 - As you can see from the pictures, Cam has joined gymnastics! He looks forward to going every week and really loves his 'coach'. Cam is starting to be more of a little boy than our little baby. In fact, tonight will be his first night in his toddler bed...just like Hannah's. For May long we took our first long road trip with both the boys, we went to Ontario to visit the family. The boys travelled very well, thanks to the pit-stop in Carberry for the night with Jordan, Tanya & Baby Hannah! We had a great time visiting with family and friends. Easton is crawling like a pro and starting to pull himself up. He loves to keep up with his big brother and Cam loves to play follow-the-leader with Easton by getting down and crawling too! We look forward to a full summer of visiting with family and friends and spending time together. Hope to see you all! Taylor, I'll try to update the site more regularly! I do appreciate the reminders though! March 8, 2009 Camryn, our little baby boy, turned 2! Happy Birthday Buddy! Unfortunately we had to downsize his party this year due to sickness :( We celebrated last night with family (it's alright to get them sick). Even with the coughing and runny nose, Cam really enjoyed his party. Cousins, Carter and Taylor, came from Strathmore to party with us too! Taylor turns 9 on the 9th and Nana celebrated her birthday on the 5th, Happy Birthday to both of them! All I can say is, Life is Good! We have nothing to complain about and are blessed in so may ways. We're looking forward to an exciting summer filled with plenty of fun times with family and friends. That's if summer ever gets here! Nathan is loving his job and I am loving mine! The boys are growing fast and becoming great friends. They are quite a pair. Bye for now!
Jan 7, 2009 First...Happy Birthday Auntie Brenda and Auntie Kelly! We had a wonderful Christmas. My sister & family came from Ontario to spend it with us and we're so glad they did. It was a houseful and it was great!! It was hard to watch them leave. Nathan's sister & family also came from Strathmore and Kelly & Sam moved home from Moncton. Christmas Day all the families were together, a Christmas we'll never forget...especially when the day ended with a sick Cam-poor boy. Boxing day we received the sad news that Nathan's grandfather Emil Grudnizki had passed. He will be missed. Andy & Lisa were unable to make it to Southey for Christmas so we all went to Moose Jaw to celebrate with them on the 28th. They made the most amazing meal and had great time playing Wii, playing pool, and just being all together. And now a new year is here and we're excited to see what is to come. Already this year our family has had a big change, Nathan started a new job at PTI - a wonderful company. But that means no more daddy at home, it will be a big transition for all of us, mostly Cam - he's a real daddy's boy. This change means great things for our family and we are excited for this new beginning to another chapter in our lives. Cam is growing taller and has a large vocabulary. He's a funny little guy and always very happy (unless he's hungry)! So far we've been very lucky, no temper tantums! He's very content & easy going. He is our shy-guy. Easton is our little social boy, he's not shy and loves to be held by anyone. He has bit of a temper, if he can't reach a toy, he'll let out quite the yell. Easton also wants to move, this frustrates him, he just wants to run with his brother! But just like Cam, he's always happy (unless he's hungry)! All the best to all our family & friends for 2009. Dec 12, 2008. Easton turned 4 months old yesterday and he received 2 little teeth! We were quite surprised to see them although with the amount of drool Easton produces we should have guessed! Easton is developing quite the personality. He has quite a little temper! When a toy is just out of reach of his mouth he can sure get upset! Otherwise he is very happy, easy to make smile & giggle...he's very ticklish. Camryn is all about the talking. His favorite word is NO! It seems like every day he learns a new word. He's growing into quite the little boy, he's a genuine good guy and lots of fun. Cam's favorite shows are Barney, Bob the Builder, and Diego. Happy holidays to everyone. We will see you in the new year. Love from Char, Nathan, Camryn, and Easton
Nov 1, 2008 The busy halloween season has come and gone. We always have fun this time of year. Curling season is in full swing, the leaves have fallen, and it is pumpkin carving time. Our annual pumpkin carving night with our friends, Karen and Tyrell, was very interesting. It is a little harder carving pumpkins with a toddler who wants attention and a baby with a belly ache. It was still a great night and the pumpkins turned out great. Halloween was extra special this year. Cam was really excited for it. He loved his costume and learned pretty quick that if he holds his bucket up he will get candy. It was great to share our halloween with our good friends Cory, Terra, River, Jaxon and Emma from PA. Jaxon and Cam always have a lot of fun together. Easton is growing up rapidly. He is almost 3 months old. He smiles constantly at us and is starting to giggle more. His sleeping is getting better and mom really is happy about that. Easton has strong legs. He likes standing on them and bouncing. We have started putting him into the exersaucer and likes when Cam shows him how to use all the toys on it. Char and I had a great evening with Bob Dylan. The concert was fantastic. To see this legendary performer in our home city was truly amazing. It is now time to think about Christmas; the most wonderful time of the year. We will keep you posted on our holiday plans. Nathan, Char, Cam, and Easton October 6, 2008. Easton is 8 weeks old today and Camryn will be 19 months tomorrow. We're having so much fun with our boys. Camryn continues to love his little brother showing no signs of jealousy. Easton is getting more interactive with big smiles and cooing noises. He sure knows how to use his arms & legs, he just wants to go! Camryn is amazing us with his words, out of the blue he'll repeat words that we say so clearly. He can tell us what he needs which makes things much easier. He continues to love cars and has taken up 'cooking'. He has a kitchen at Nana & Papas and he must 'cook' his cookies before eating them...too cute! Remember if anyone needs to get away, we're always up for company! August 20 - Easton is now 9 days old and has been at home for a week already. We are fortunate to say that Char and Easton are doing great. He is a good eater and sleeps as well as can be expected. He is a very content baby and only gives us a cry when we have waited a bit to long to feed him. Cam loves his little brother. He makes sure that when he gets a kiss, Easton gets one too. Easton has received many high fives from Cam. Cam shares his blankies and holds Easton many times during the day. So our family of 4 is adjusting well to life. We are holding a "Come meet Easton BBQ" Sunday the 24th. Please feel free to drop by around 3pm. Give a call if you need our address.
August 9th, 2008 - Well, I definately didn't think I'd be sitting at the computer right now...still pregnant! We are very ready and trying our best to stay busy to help with the waiting anxiety. On the positive side, I feel well and baby is healthy but still can't wait to meet this little one! Carey, Russ and the kids were here for a visit. Camryn loved being with his cousins and is really going to miss them. I think being with his older cousins aged him by about 6 months! He seems like a much bigger boy.Cam is talking more and has added many words to his vocabulary. Nathan & I celebrated our 2nd anniversary on July 29th and can't believe how fast 2 years has past and just how blessed we have been. We'll let everyone know when this baby arrives. Take care. July 12, 2008 - Wow...time flies. We are now on the countdown! Only a little over 3 weeks until Baby's expected arrival! I am on mat leave already and enjoying my family time at home. The days seem to be passing too quickly though, I'm not quite ready but close...I just have to pack my hospital bag! Camryn continues to change daily. He makes us laugh every day, he is so happy. It amazes us how much he knows and how many words he has in his vocabulary now. It makes it very easy to figure out what he needs. Cam's first word was Dad then Mama, then he started saying Car-he LOVES cars!. Now he can say Nana, Papa, Grandma, Ball, Done, Yes and tries his best to copy other words we say to him as well, even Gorilla! Well, better get to bed - rest while we can! April 11, 2008 - We're a bit behind! Cam turned one year old last month, March 7th to be exact. On the weekend of his birthday we had a big party for him with all his friends. Cam had such a good time, all the kids were great. Everyone played together, no hair pulling or pushing, actually quite a few hugs (mostly from Oscar). Birthday # 1 was a success. We went for ultrasound #2 to take a peek at our next little angel. Everything is perfect, baby looked very healthy. We counted 5 fingers on each hand as baby waved hello to us. Baby is moving around now, daddy can even feel it. Cam is getting curious about mommy's growing belly, he likes to poke mommy's belly! Easter weekend we made a trip to Strathmore to visit Carey and the family. Cam had lots of fun with his cousins and even had a sleep-over with a bed of pillows & blankets in the rec room with Taylor. Camryn is walking very well, pretty much running! He's had his fair share of bumps & bruises, he's quite the boy. Next he'll be climbing...he tries when he gets the chance! We can't believe how fast a little baby changes into a little boy. It won't be long before he's talking to us either, he talks now but we just don't understand his language! We want to send a congrats out to Curt & Lana with the birth of their new baby boy, Brady. We can't wait to meet him, we're thinking of you!
Feb 10, 2007 - BIG NEWS....Camryn is going to be a big brother!! We are so excited about our expanding family. Char is already over her morning sickness, which lasted much longer last time, so that makes her very happy! Baby is now 15 weeks and looks to be very healthy. Camryn is very close to walking on his own. He still prefers a little helping hand but does get courageous and will venture off on his own. He's made it about 10 feet all alone. This seems fast considering at Christmas he wasn't even crawling yet. Cam has started "swim lessons", he's only made it to one class so far due to weather and bad colds...he didn't really enjoy it but we'll see how next time goes. He is getting very tall and weighs 24 lbs. Char starts back to work tomorrow! Yikes...time flies! Cam is going to stay home with Daddy and also be with Nana when Daddy needs to work. We're very thankful for this. Besides battling bad colds like everyone else, the family is doing very well. Hope all is well with all of you!
OUR YEAR
2007
Our year started off by waiting, waiting, waiting...counting down the days until "Baby Grud" would arrive. Char worked up until the end of January and Nathan was done his work mid-February, then the days got even longer! That was until March 7
th, the day we became a family. Camryn Samuel came into our lives and filled a void we didn't even know we had. Unfortunately, those long days seem to pass in a blink now, so we have learned to treasure every moment. Camryn changes daily and we've enjoyed watching him grow and develop, he amazes us. We look forward to our future together.
Nathan was enjoying his time at home so much with his baby boy that he didn't want to work out of the house again, so he didn't. Nathan started his own home-based business called HR Matters, a human resource consulting business. With Char on mat-leave and Nathan working from home, we are cherishing & enjoying our time together. We only had one problem, all the trips we were making to Nana & Papa's house, we just couldn't seem to get enough visiting in. So, we had to move! In September, we became residents of Southey. We're feeling settled into our new home and love being 'home'. We look forward to our first Christmas as a family.
We wish everyone a happy and healthy Christmas holiday. We wish we could be with you all.
All our love,
Nathan, Char & Camryn
Nov 16th 2007 - We started this month with a trip to Emo for Beppe's 94th birthday. It was a great celebration with relatives from all over the world. We met Beppe's cousins, Renze and Autie, who live in the Netherlands. All of Char's uncles made the trip to Emo as well. One highlight of the trip was bringing back Char's dads 1950 Chevy truck. It is a cool looking truck and we are looking forward to fixing it up over the next few years. Thanks to Andy and Lisa for letting us borrow your truck and thanks to all the uncles for helping load it. Also, happy 31st birthday to Andy (Nov.14th). Cam continues to grow before our eyes. He loves eating turkey, beef and spagetti, apple sauce and most other foods. He is learning how to squirm and wiggle when things aren't going his way and will cry if he wants something bad enough. We are looking forward to his first christmas. We plan on spending his first christmas in our house and then over to Nana and Papa's for the rest of the day. But that is still a long ways away. Take care out there, Nathan, Char and Cam Oct 29th 2007 - We had a good week-end. Good friends Karen & Tyrell came out to Southey for our annual pumpkin carving night. I suggested that we get more detailed with our pumpkins....when they were all done, one didn't really belong, guess who's pumpkin that was! I can give advise but I don't really take it myself! Camryn enjoyed the fun. We started our adventure with a road trip to Lumsden to pick out our pumpkins. What a great place, I can see that being an annual trip that the kids (and the parents) will look forward to. Camryn is sitting tall all by himself and is very content to sit and play with his toys. He now has 2 little teeth, which I think makes him look more like a little boy. Camryn is getting quite the personality too, he can sure make us laugh. Especially when he gets tired, he gets the giggles! What more can we ask for, most tired baby's cry, not ours...he gets silly with big belly laughs! And of course, he's getting cuter by the day! We lost a dear friend, Sally, who we will miss very much. In her last few days though, Camryn brought her plenty of joy. It was great to see Sally smile everytime she saw Cam, her face would just light up. Cam let Sally hold him too (usually he plays shy and cries for mommy & daddy). We will miss you Sally. We're heading on another road trip to Ontario to see the family and celebrate Beppe's birthday. So more pics to come! Happy Halloween Everyone!
Sept 24th 2007 - Sorry, it's been a while. As you all know, we were moving! Nathan, Cam & I are now a small town family, living in Southey. We're nice and close to Nana & Papa and feel like we have come home. We love our new home. Camryn has changed dramatically. He turned 6 months on Sept 7th and now weighs 20 lbs. He rolls all over and tries his best to crawl, I know it will be any day now and it actually makes me sad, babies change much too fast. Solid foods are now a part of his diet and Cam loves to eat. A few funny faces at first from the veggies but now we can't feed him fast enough for his likings! Camryn has expanded his giggle, he can really laugh now. He's so easy to make smile and laugh. Sometimes just a look will send him into a big laugh. He's also very ticklish, even when sleeping, I have a hard time cutting his little toe nails - those toes are sooo ticklish! Just today, Camryn said his first word....Dada! Once it came out it didn't stop...too cute! Camryn is his Daddy's boy, if he wants his dad - he gets him! If Nathan walks into the room, Cam won't let him leave, Nathan must take Camryn with him. Yes, I admit I'm jealous but I get my snuggle time too! Daddy also had his birthday, August 31st, and Nathan's bestfriend Cory also got married. Congrats Cory, Terra, River & Jaxon! We had such a great time at the wedding, which was in Waskesiu! It was beautiful. We look forward to seeing you all again soon. Until next time.
August 23 2007 - First off.... HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY JAXON! Also Happy-not first-Birthday Cory! How old are you now? I believe you're getting very close to having 3's in your age? Well, our little family is making a move! Our house is sold and we're on our way to Southey to become small town folk. Actually back to our roots. Nathan and I are both small town kids at heart. Nathan & I have been dreaming about our new house...flooring, paint colours, furniture and of course a new big screen TV for Nathan (well I guess I'll watch it, if I have to)! Camryn is a big boy. I'm not quite sure on his weight, so I'll get back to you on that one. He is growing fast and getting a big appetite so he started cereal this week (check out the pics). He LOVES it! After the torture of watching us eat and imitating us, he was ready. Camryn has also perfected the giggle, that has to be the best sound in the world. Being able to make him laugh is such a very rewarding feeling. Nathan & I also celebrated our 1 year anniversary, July 29th. It was a quiet evening including supper out, without Camryn! That was the first time out without him. We weren't too far though, he was at Nana & Papa's and we were about 3 blocks away! Hey, what can I say, I guess I'm one of those parents. I'll slowing work on being away from him. We have some trips planned to enjoy the rest of this summer, then we'll come back to reality. I must say, I will never forget this summer...being together as a family has been priceless. Hope everyone is happy and healthy. Till next time, take care! July 20 - The days have been flying by. The house is in tip-top shape thanks to big help from Nana & Papa. Note: If you give Emily a can of paint, she won't stop until the can is empty...she's a painting machine. We never would have got it all done without them - Thank You! Camryn endured his 4 month immunization shots but not without big tears...from mommy & Baby! Our big guy is also 18 lbs! He's definately no little baby anymore. The doctor said he's perfect, no concerns at all. In fact, she said he was so cute that he belongs on a calender! I'll take that compliment. Camryn also no longer likes sitting or laying, he must stand. He's getting stronger everyday. Hope everyone is staying cool in this heat. Our next house is having central air for sure!
