March 9, 2006- Sarayah is better from her little sickness. The doctor seems to think that she has allergies, which doesn't surprise me because Josh and I both have them. She is blabbering so much now. When she sees a picture of herself she starts laughing and kicking her legs. Then whenever I am talking she tries her best to talk right along with me. Well, it really sounds like an owl....who who who. She is so funny. Josh and I laugh at her all of the time. Sarayah loves the dogs. She laughs at them too...well she pretty much laughs at anything all of the time. I have a very happy baby and thankful for it! She is already my little best friend.
February 28th, 2006- Well, Sarayah has yet another cold. It is driving us crazy. We are neither one getting any sleep because she can't breath. She is however very active. She is to the point now where she hates to lay down. Anytime she is standing on my lap is much better. Poor thing is chewing on everything in sight and drooling like a leaky faucet. I hope this cold is because of her teething. She has definately become a mommy's girl. She screams when I'm not around. Josh doesn't seem to be too fond of it. She is eating her fruits with rice cereal in it and loves it. She wears more than she eats. She is so funny because she gets so excited in between each bite like there isn't going to be anymore. I think we have a big eater on our hands!
February 14th, 2006- Sarayah went to the doctor today for her 4 month check-up. She weighs 13lbs 11ozs, which puts her in the 50th percentile. She is 24 1/2 inches long, which puts her in the 60th percentile and her head is in the 50th percentile. So all in all I have a pretty average child. Dr. Laney said that everything looks very normal with her. Josh went with me today because she got more shots and I wasn't going through that again. She did better than she did last time. She is however still grouchy. I can't believe she is 4 months old already. Time goes by way too fast!
February 17th,2006- Sarayah carried on her first conversation this morning. I couldn't tell you what she said because it was in a different language but it was cute as can be. She is so active and interactive. Just thought I would pass on that information. Oh yeah.....this has nothing to do with the baby but I'M BACK INTO MY OLD JEANS!!!!! Finally!
January 30th, 2005- Well, Sarayah still wasn't any better today so I took her back to her real doctor. The junk in her head has set in bedhind her ears and caused an earache. He gave her antibiotics and cough medicine to take so hopefully that will make her feel better.
February 7th,2006- Sarayah knows how to kiss now....watch out! She opens her mouth so wide when you say "can I have a kiss?" She does it especially to her daddy. She knows her name now too. It takes her a minute to find you when you say her name but she does it. She loves to sit in her exersaucer and chew on everything. Last night she was watching Sesame Street and Big Bird popped up and said "HEY" then Sarayah got scared and started crying. We are going to have a scaredy cat on our hands. It was still funny. Sarayah's cold is getting a little better. She has been on antibiotic for 9 days now and still has a bad cough. There is only two more months until she has surgery on her ears. I dread it so much! We are still having the time of our lives with her!
P.S. at the hospital friday she weighed 12lbs 14.8ozs.
January 28th, 2005- Last night was a blast...sitting in the urgent care for 3 hours for the doctors to do nothing. Here is how the story goes....yesterday, Sarayah acted like she didn't feel that great but she wasn't running a rever so I didn't call her doctor. Then at 6 o'clock last night, I took her temperature and it was 100.3. The first fever she has ever had and it scared me to death because the first thing that I thought of was RSV, so I took her to the emergency room. I gave her a dose of tylenol before we left here and by the time we got to the hospital her fever was down so they thought that I was crazy. They sucked snot out of her nose and are supposed to call me with the results to see if the RSV test was positive or negative. They didn't say that she had a cold or anything. She definately has something or she wouldn't have ran a fever. I hate Catawba Hospital! Last night was a little better than the night before. She is very hoarse now and still doesn't feel very hot, but I guess every baby has to get sick at one time or another. She also hates me because I am the bad guy that sticks the bulb up her nose and gags her when I suck the stuff out! I hope this gets better soon! I love parenthood! It's very stressful sometimes.
January 27th, 2006- Well, my baby has her first cold. She is pitiful. Last night was the worst night since she was born. I think I saw every hour past midnight. We are both tired and not feeling good. Not a very good combination. Even though it is not fun that she has a cold, it is however good that she has made it three and a half months before she has gotten one. Let's just all hope and pray that we get rid of this crud before too long.
January 17th, 2005- Well, Sarayah laughed outloud for the first time tonight. My cheeks were so sore from laughing at her. It was the absolute cutest thing ever. She really didn't know what to think about it at first because she had never done it before but after she got the hang of it she laughed for like 10 minutes while she was in the bathtub. I love it when she does something new. She is growing up so much. This whole thing is bitter-sweet. I'm glad she is learning new things but at the same time I am sad that my little baby is already growing up.
January 10th, 2005- Sarayah turned over for the first time last night. She rolled from her back to stomach which is opposite from most babies. She is a strong little sucker. She will be 3 months old tomorrow and growing like a weed. Her little personality kills me because it's so cute. I did however leave her for 2 whole days while Josh and I went away for an early anniversary weekend. It was definately hard but I made it through. She can hold herself up on her elbows now. i can't believe how my little baby is growing. I love it!
December 27th, 2005- Christmas was fun. Sarayah slept through the opening of the presents while I opened them for her. I can't wait until next Christmas when she kind of knows what is going on. She is still growing like a weed. We took her to see Santa last week. She did very well...didn't cry and wasn't asleep. I can't believe she is almost 3 months old. She can laugh outloud a little bit. I can't wait to hear what her voice sounds like. We are having so much fun!!!
December 13th, 2005- I have a 10 pounder! We went to the doctor today for a 2 month check up and Sarayah weighs 10 lbs 3 ozs, which puts her in the 50th percentile. She is 23 inches long, which puts her in the 90th percentile. My tall, skinny little girl. She also got her shots which had to be the worse thing I have been through so far. She was so pitiful.......I cried. I hate seeing my baby hurt and I can't fix it. Other than that she is great. She is still the best baby in the world. Oh yeah, her head is in the 25th percentile...little head! There is nothing like being a mommy. I am making Josh go to her 4 month check up and see what I had to go through. She is a little cranky tonight. My poor little baby!
November 18th, 2005- Now that it's finally getting cold I can put snow on here. Sarayah is so much fun! I love spending every waking moment with her. There isn't really much to report except for the fact that she is getting huge!. I think she weighs close to 10 pounds now. She can fit some of her 0-3 month clothes. Her face is filling out very nicely. Everyone comments on how she doesn't look real, that she looks like a baby doll. I love my little baby doll!
November 9, 2005- Sarayah will be a month old on friday and I can't believe it! Time is going by way too fast. I sit and stare at her all day just so I won't miss anything. I think she smiled at me last night (and it wasn't gas!). She is getting so big now! People out in public comment on how tiny she is but I think she is so big. She is holding her head up very well now and she looks like a little turtle, it's so cute! I also love how she can be asleep and I can be out of the room and she starts crying until I come back in the room. She might have a touch of colic but it's not unbearable yet. It starts up at like 7:30 and is off and on until 10. Atleast it's not constant. She has her daddy's personality, which is, she knows what she wants and if she doesn't get it immediately then she gets mad. Words can't describe how in love I am with this little girl. I think it's neat how I have an automatic best friend for life!
October 25, 2005- Sarayah had her 2 weeks dr. visit today. She now weighs 6 lbs 10 ozs....growing litle piggy. He said that everything looked good. She is 20 inches tall now so that puts her in the 50 percentile. She is only in the 10th percentile for her weight but she is trying to grow. Sarayah is becoming very alert now and starting to focus on things that are close to her face. I am having so much fun with her!
October 23, 2005- Sarayah is doing wonderful. We had to take her to the doctor on Friday because her umbilical cord was bleeding. The Dr. fixed is and then it fell off yesterday so she is officially ours. At that visit she weighed 6lbs 7ozs which puts her back over her birth weight. I don't know what I have done to deserve such a good baby but I sure am thankful for it. She is such a content baby. She loves to lay and watch everything. Even though she can't focus on anything past 6 inches in front of her face, she likes to see movement. We are going to get her pictures made sometime this week. I'll put some on here when I get them back. I can't believe how she is already growing so much We go back to the doctor on tuesday for her 2 week check up. I will let you know how much miss piggy has gained then.
October 18th, 2005- Sarayah is one week old today and I keep falling in love with her more everyday. She is the best baby. The only time she cries is when she is hungry or naked. I can already tell that her cheeks are filling out and she is gaining weight. This is the best time of my life. Everything seems to be so much sweeter now that she is in our lives!
October 15,2005- We took Sarayah to the pediatrician for the first time yesterday and he said that she looks perfect. The past two nights haven't been as bad as they could have been. The first night home was great. She woke up when she was supposed to just to eat and slept great the rest of the time. Last night was a little bit different. She woke up at 1:30 and stayed up until 3 crying because she had a tummy ache. I feel so sorry for her when she does that because there is nothing that I can do immediately to stop it like I would like to. Josh is amazing with the baby. He acts like he has been doing this his whole life except for the fact that he will not change a poopy diaper. He is a different person now. I could not have planned a better family than what I have now!
October 14th, 2005- My precious little girl has decided to make her appearance 3 weeks early. Here is how it went....... At 3:30 tuesday morning someone decided to break into Josh's truck and take a few things and then unlock the deadbolt to our house but never came in. To tell you the truth I think that is what started it all. I then had a Dr's appointment at 10:30 tuesday morning. He checked me and I was 2 cm and 80%. From 11-3 I was having contractions every 5 minutes apart. We finally went to the hospital at 5. From 3-8 they were 2 minutes apart. The Dr. broke my water at 8 when I was 3cm, I had the epidural at 9:30 and was 7cm, 5 minutes later I was 10cm and ready to push. I started pushing at 9:45 and she was out at 10:25. She weighed 6lbs and 6ozs and was 19 1/2 in long. She is beautiful!! She is definately Josh made over. The only thing that is mine is her feet. We are at home now and I love it. The first night was excellent. Nothing to complain about. I am so glad that our precious little angel is here and is perfect!
