11/27/05-- Jake definitely knows "mama" and also says "baba," though we're not sure to what he is referring. He also makes a whispered "ba ba ba" which sometimes turns into a "pa" or a "da." He uses his feet to move things and can stick them in his mouth. He's still only eating Cheerios, but we sneak food into his mouth in between bites. 11/24/05-- Jacob's 6th tooth has come in and earlier today he was able to stand unassisted for 2 seconds. 11/24/05-- Jacob (and mom and dad) went to a friend's house for Thanksgiving dinner. He ate Cheerios and took a nap. The whole family has a cold, so despite being very cute, he was very tired and sniffly today. /k,./ b bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb4 bbb mbggggggggggggggmvvv ,./ Love, Jacob 11/19/05 11/19/05-- Tooth #5 has come in! Jessica was trying to remove a large ball of cat hair from Jacob's mouth when she noticed the new tooth on the top left-hand side. 11/18/05-- Eight months already! Jake had his third haircut yesterday and also went to his first movie--a midnight showing of Harry Potter. It was wonderful! He slept through the whole thing! 11/17/05-- Jacob has decided that he will no longer be fed with a spoon. Instead, he will feed himself...sort of. After trying the veggie puffs, he liked finger foods so much that his regular baby food is gtting turned down and all he wants are the puffs. Mom and dad are frantically working on ways to get Jacob to eat. So far, cubed tofu and avocado sometimes makes it into his mouth. 11/11/05-- Another visitor, another milestone! Jessica's dad and step-mom are here for a couple of days, so Jake decided to start babbling. He can now make a "ba" sound and was happily mixing it with "ma" for an entire conversation. We all went to the Getty Center--Jacob's first art museum-- and had a great time. The ride back wasn't so great (try horrible), but he's always a gentleman in public. 11/7/05-- Jacob has learned to turn the lights off and on. He thinks this is hilarious and giggles nonstop. He had previously learned to turn the water off and on at Grandma's house, so this is just furthur evidence of this little monkey's ability to use tools. 11/6/05-- Update: Shopping has become much easier since Jacob has learned to sit by himself. He just sits in the shopping cart and looks around at everything. He's getting so heavy that this latest milestone seems to have been perfectly coordinated. He's also discovered yelling--he'll yell at us then when we look over, he laughs. His dexterity is improving and he likes to pick up blocks and balls. He is still trying to eat everything he finds, but luckliy some of that is the food we are feeding him. He will soon be eating mango, avocado, tofu, and peaches. 10/30/05-- And now he's had his first bath sitting up. 10/30/05-- Jacob sat in the grocery cart without any help today. He had a great time and smiled at everyone. 10/27/05-- Look Ma! No hands! Jacob has gained the ability to sit upright by himself today. 10/26/05-- What a busy week! Jacob and Jessica have been all over Texas going to a wedding and visiting relatives. He was, as always, perfect on the plane. 10/18/05-- Jacob is 7 months old already! It's hard to believe... We're getting ready for our trip to Texas. Everything's clean, everything's packed... just have to get the clock to move a little faster! 10/10/05-- FINALLY! Jacob's top two teeth are coming in! Happy days are here again... 10/8/05-- His two top teeth will be appearing soon... then maybe we can all get some rest! 10/7/05-- Jake has been getting very proficient at crawling. He still reverts back to the "inch worm" and the "grab and pull" methods a little, but for the most part, it's hands and knees. Today is day four of pears, so it'll be pumpkin next, followed by bananas. 10/06/05-- Jacob was able to sit in the high chair at the mall food court. Almost ready to sit on his own...
