9/27/07-- After a month of being busy, Jacob's Mommy tries desperately to remember everything that has happened and write it on the homepage...! 9/23/07-- Jacob was very patient while Ella had her pictures made so he was able to pick out a book from the bookstore. He chose "Clifford Takes a Vacation." 9/17/07-- After taking Tomo to the vet and Ella to the doctor, Jacob announced that he wanted to be a doctor. Kris asked, "Do you want to be a doctor for babies, a doctor for animals, or a doctor for people?" Jacob said, "A doctor for babies." So now Jacob likes to give Ella (and his cars and monkeys) check ups. 9/12/07-- Back to California! Jacob is great on both airplanes and has a great time. 9/11/07-- Jacob spent the day playing at Grandma's house. He really likes to go see Abrams, play with airplanes, and play with his new train set. 9/10/07-- Grandad came to visit Jacob today. He and Jake played with the train set that he'd received from Mommy-O and Daddy-O. Jacob had so much fun driving the train all over Grandad! Grandad was able to stay most of the day then headed back to Fort Worth. 9/9/07-- After Uncle Mike and Aunt Peggy headed back to Seminole, Mommy-O, Daddy-O, Aunt Melody, Jonas, and Kaemon came over to visit. Grandma made a huge breakfast and even made a special Mickey Mouse pancake for Jacob. Jake, Grandma, Jessica, and Ella headed to church for a bit and did a meet and greet with the Holliday folks. Jacob was a little shy and informed everyone that he was "all done say hi!" After church Jacob met up with the Rhodes clan again and went to eat BBQ for lunch. He and Jonas had a great time playing and even got to sit next to each other for lunch. Later in the afternoon, the Rhodes family headed back to Mansfield. 9/8/07-- What a fun day! The entire family (and a few friends) went to Lake Arrowhead for a picnic. Aunt Peggy and Uncle Mike came along and Uncle Mike helped Jacob catch his first fish! He then proceded to catch three more... Everyone had a good time snacking and eating burgers. Later, Uncle John showed Jacob how to fly a kite. Jacob and his new pal, Ethan O'Brien, had a good time watching kites, playing in the water, and petting the dogs. Once it got hot, the picnic disbanded and Jake headed back to his Grandma's house. Kris filled up a swimming pool in the front yard and Jacob and Ella swam and swam for a long time. 9/7/07-- Jacob spent most of the day playing with airplanes and cars and even got to visit his buddy, Abrams. That evening, Jake met up with his Gram and Aunt Paula, Uncle John and Aunt Nikki for pictures. Afterwards, the entire family, including Grandad and Grandma Linda, met up for dinner and a surprise wedding shower for Uncle John and Aunt Nikki. 9/6/07-- Jacob's parents woke him up bright and early to head to the airport. He was really excited to ride the airplane to Grandma's house. After a little "accident" on the first flight, everything went perfectly. In fact, Jacob got to ride all by himself on the trip from DFW to Wichita Falls. Grandma picked the family up at the airport and they all headed to Holliday to see Uncle John. 9/5/07-- Today Jacob had a picnic lunch with Bridget, Kate, Hope, Ethan, Brooke, and Harry. The boys played on the playground for a long time after eating pb&j and peaches. 9/3/07-- The family went with Bridget and Kate to the Aquarium of the Pacific. It was really crowded, but it was nice to be somewhere with an air conditioner. The aquarium has a special exhibit on surf culture and Jacob got to see a video about surfing and a hula dancer. Jacob was in love with the hula girl and gave her a high five. Later Jake saw a diver in a tank, but insists that it was a robot. We ate dinner at Outback (where he had his first ever restaurant temper tantrum) and headed home. 9/1/07-- The family went to the Farmer's Market to pick up Jacob's new favorite fruit-- peaches. 8/24/07-- Jacob, Ella, and Jessica went with Bridget and Kate to meet Kris and Mark for lunch. We ate outside at the University Center and Jacob impressed some Japanese students with his soccer ability. 8/23/07-- Jacob got a call from his pal, Rami, today. What he said was unclear, though the alphabet was definitely involved. 8/22/07-- Today Jessica, Jacob, and Ella had a picnic with Hope, Ethan, Bridget, Kate, Brooke, and Harry. The shade of a tree made a perfect spot to share sandwiches and fruit. A good time was had by all. 8/21/07-- Jacob has been doing great with his vocabulary. He has picked up a lot of new things like "Scusies" when he wants to get by and "I'll be right back!" which doesn't always mean what you might think it means... With his friends he has picked up an unfortunate "whiny vocabulary" with phrases such as, "Gimme!" and "No! Not yours!" When prompted, he once again goes back to "please" but it's a tedious process. Jacob still loves to run around outside and ride his tricycle back and forth. Right now his favorite thing to do is puzzles, but he also likes drawing and cars. 8/10/07-- When Jessica came home from work, she noticed something odd about Jacob's clothes. Upon closer inspection she saw that not only were his shorts on backwards, but they were Ella's! Proof of how hectic life with two children can be... 8/9/07-- Kris showed off Jacob and Ella to a couple of his coworkers today. The school secretary said, "Well, hello, Jacob. Can you shake hands?" Jacob replied, "Yes!" and shook his arm in her direction.
