Stories October 12, 2008 Wow, has it been a long time since I updated this site - babies keep you busy, I guess! Caroline continues to amaze us. At 4 months she is reaching for things, laughing and sitting well with support. She weighs almost 15 lbs and is 25 inches long. Mommy went back to work last month. It was a hard transition, but we're all adjusting. I promise to try to update Caroline's site more often! August 12, 2008 Caroline is now 10 1/2 weeks old! She weighs over 12 lbs and is at least 24 inches long! What a big girl! She is so animated these days. Mommy and Daddy have long conversations with Caroline all the time - she loves to coo and gurgle at us. Caroline and Mom went for a long walk today around the lake in Wakefield with her cousins Shaylan & Chrissy - what fun! We are enjoying our last couple weeks together before Mommy goes back to work. July 9, 2008 Ms. Caroline is growing like a weed! At her one month appointment she was 9.8 lbs and just one week later she was up to 10.6 lbs!! Mommy and Caroline are enjoying their summer home together. They go for walks, go to a Mommy group and Caroline loves when Mommy gives her a bath! The heat and humidity this week is leaving us all a bit cranky, but we'll get through it! Caroline smiled at Mommy and Daddy for the first time yesterday. We woke up at 7am and looked into her bassinet and she was wide awake and smiled right at us! She sure is pretty when she smiles! June 25, 2008 Caroline and Mom & Dad have been having a great time getting to know each other the last 3 1/2 weeks! Mom & Dad just can't stop staring at their beautiful little peanut - she is so perfect! Caroline is a good sleeper, so Mommy has been getting some decent sleep most nights. All in all she has been a good baby. She has her fussy periods, but mostly she is very content. :) We get out for walks almost every day - we are thanking our lucky stars for the good weather! June 13, 2008 Caroline had her 2 week appointment with the peditrician today. She is doing very well! She has surpassed her birthweight and now weighs 8.3 lbs. Our Dr. was very happy with that and said the nursing must be going well! Caroline keeps Colin and I entertained all day with her silly faces and loud poops! We brought her to Lynch Park tonight for her first picnic on the ocean! June 8, 2008 Caroline Maryann Kearney entered this world on Friday, May 30, 2008! Colin and I brought her home this past Tuesday and have spent this week getting to know our beautiful daughter! She is doing great and we couldn't be prouder parents!! Can't wait for you all to meet her. May 28th Today was my last day of work. I worked a half day and then had a pre-op appointment with Dr. Burrow's who will be doing my c-section. We are ready for Friday! I have to be there at 5:30AM and the surgery starts around 7:30, so we should have our little baby early Friday morning! We are so excited to see if it's a little girl or boy! I will be in the hospital 4 nights, so I will get lots of care before we head home. We will do our best to keep you all updated! May 24, 2008 I haven't updated the site for awhile so...big news - Baby K is arriving next week! This little baby has been in the breech position for weeks now and just won't budge. Mommy has done everything possible to get baby to move into the head-down position, but it's just not happening. So, the docs have scheduled a c-section for next Friday, May 30th. Mommy & Daddy are so excited to meet the little one! April 25, 2008 OKAY - I had another wonderful shower! My girlfriends at work threw me an incredible baby shower. They completely surprised me and they even got Colin there! It was a great way to end my week. The nursery is basically ready for the baby's arrival!
I was sad to miss Heidi's shower this past weekend though. But a drive our to NY was just too much for this pregnant Momma right now! April 20, 2008 This weekend Kim threw me an amazing shower! All of our friends and family from the North Shore came to this shower, plus all of my FPC friends. We had a really great time and again we were blessed to receive so many generous gifts. Baby K certainly is a lucky baby! Colin had some of his friends from FPC come up for the day and the Daddies and friends went golfing! April 12, 2008 My mother in law threw me a wonderful baby shower! We had so much fun. We played the Poopie Diaper game and Paula actually made little poopie looking things to go in the diapers! If you got a poopie diaper you won a prize - ha! We also played the String Game and everyone had to cut a piece of string that they thought would go around my tummy. Everyone's string was WAY TO BIG! Jessi won though. Check out the pictures page to see pics from the shower. April 5, 2008 I feel like we had a great appointment this morning! I am 31 weeks and measuring 31 centimeters, which is right on target. My blood pressure was great, I gained 5 lbs and the midwife said the baby was head down! I was kind of worried that the baby wasn't head down because I'm not getting kicked in the ribs as some girls describe and at my last appt 3 weeks ago she said the baby wasn't head down yet. The midwife showed us where the bum was! We knew it was either the head or the bum because I've been feeling something hard stick out for a couple weeks! Now we know it's a bony little butt! Colin heard the heartbeat through the stethoscope today and he said it sounded great. Heartrate was right around 140 again today! March 24, 2008 At my last appointment I had gained a total of 17 pounds. We heard the heartbeat again and it has consistently been at 140 the last few weeks, which is right in the middle of the average range (120-160). I had to be tested for Gestational Diabetes because one test came back a little high, but the second test ruled it out! So, we're happy about that. We are now working on the nursery! We set up the furniture this weekend. We got a convertible crib, bureau and armoire! See pictures! We still have a lot to do, but we have a good start. February 15, 2008 Well, I guess I finally gained that baby weight. I have gained a total of 13 lbs, which the midwife said was textbook perfect. We heard the heartbeat again and it was strong and steady! We plan to register at a couple Baby stores this weekend. Wish us luck - we have no idea what we need!! February 10, 2008 Well, I think I "popped" a little this week! Colin and I woke up Tuesday morning and saw a rounder tummy emerging! Colin and I attended our friend, Samantha's baby shower, yesterday. Some other guy friends came as well and after a little while the boys took off for the local bar while the girls opened gifts. Before Colin left he got some baby practice by holding our friend, Karen's 6-month old son, Mason. What a cutie! I have my 24-week prenatal appt this Tuesday. My appetite has certainly increased since my last appointment, so I'll write soon with a weight update! At 20 weeks I had only gained 5 lbs. January 10, 2008 Thank you for visiting Baby K's site! Colin and I are so excited. I am currently at 19 weeks and growing! We had our first ultrasound last week - it was so amazing. It was a great moment for Colin and I to share. Everything went well and it was so great to see the baby moving all around. I couldn't feel movement during the ultrasound, but I have been feeling the baby for a couple weeks now. On Christmas Day Colin and I got our favorite present when the baby made itself known with it's first real movement. I think it did a somersault in there! For those wondering...we've decided to wait until June to find out whether it's a boy or a girl! Stay tuned for more updates...
