Stories 3.17.09 Well our little girl is officially one year old! So hard to believe - she has blossomed before us and it's been an amazing year. We celebrated her birthday on Saturday and she had her first taste of birthday cake and loved it!!! She was so cute with her cards and presents preferring the cards over the presents at times :) She is eating more table food and taking her sippy cup with ease and sitting with us at the table at times like the big girl she is becoming. She is traveling the furniture and walks with certain toys but still no first steps on her own - every now and then she'll let go but shortly thereafter falls down. Her personality is shining through and she's full of it for sure!!! She babbles away in her own conversation and have started to say Harley, Ashleigh, Hi, and we think we hear an I love you every now and then (or at least all of the above through the mimic in the sound of her voice). She at times let's a bit of that "Irishness" in her show through as she can quickly get a temper when she doesn't get her way. She loves Elmo, the outdoors, and her dog Harley - as we sometimes see the two of them laying side by side on the floor. She loves to clap and dance and sing (especially with Elmo) and playing peek-a-boo is a favorite. She has started a swim class with mommy and daddy and loves the water!!! Splashing is her favorite and she's a natural in the water (just like her daddy). She has a special way of sitting one leg out straight and one leg tucked behind her - when she had her one year pictures taken we didn't even notice as she sat on the floor she moved herself around that she ended up in that exact position (those pictures to come). So much more to come and so much to experience as we wait for the warmer weather to come back so we can get outside and play and swing! We go for her one year check up on Thursday and will update how much we have grown at that time!! 3.5.09 So much happening so fast - Raegan's 4th tooth (2nd on the top) has officially broken skin - hard to believe they are just popping in one after the other!!! 3.2.09 Raegan enjoyed her very first snow storm. We received approx 9 inches of snow here from yesterday to today. We took her outside and she just loved looking around and laughing at her sister playing in the snow. Daddy took them both for a little sled ride around the yard. She enjoyed her first "Snow Day"!! 3.1.09 Raegan's 3rd tooth has officially cut through!! She is getting really good at cruisin the furniture and her stroller. She's saying words like Mama, dada, up, 'hi', bye-bye, nigh-nigh (for night night), we think she's trying to say ash (for her sister). She babbles a lot more in her own conversations with us - it's extremely funny. She also thinks she's quite funny with her faces and babbles and mannerisms sometimes she is worth millions in free entertainment. We are amazed every day at how fast she is learning and growing. Raegan and Mom had a swim class (parent and tot) and of course as we knew she would - Raegan loved the water. She loves music and dances away with it!! She loves to play pat-a-cake and peekaboo as she is finally "understanding" what it's all about!! We are looking forward to her 1st birthday party and can't wait to share pictures!!! 2.17.09 Hard to believe only a month to go and our little one will be a year old. She is keeping us on our toes as she masters strolling around the furniture. She's learning how to do everything except what we want her to do and for that had to invest in two very sturdy gates :) - she's a fast one that's for sure. She started mastering the pincher grasp and has been eating some table food here and there and loving it (especially the mess she gets to make). She is growing into an extremely sweet little girl - we love to hear her laugh and her smile just warms your heart. Where oh where did that lil baby go? Can't wait to share all the wonderful pictures from her 1st bday!! Till then... 2.3.09 "Not only did we celebrate big sister's 8th birthday today I showed Mommy and Daddy that not only can I now crawl fast but holding onto my stroller watch me go - I walked behind my baby stroller all the way across the living room. Daddy was very shocked when he came home from school to see my new talent. Boy are they in trouble" Not much longer and our little girl will be walking - hard to believe!!!! 1.24.09 Happy New Year everyone! Hard to believe time is flying by we are now 10 months old and busy busy busy! We are on the go as we finally got the hang of this crawling on the knees and boy are we fast!! I love to pull myself up to my toy box and empty it all out toy by toy! I'm having fun pulling up and standing at my toys to play. Raegan is even trying some table food and taking great to her sippy cup! Hard to believe we are just a few short months away from her 1st birthday! 12.20.08 Raegan had her 9 month check up yesterday. She weighed in at 17lbs 10 oz and 28" long. Doctor says she is doing well - has a small head (lol) for her age and is bound to be short like her mama - but she is very healthy and happy. She has been on Stage 3 foods and have tried some table food with her as well - she loved the rice. We had our first visit with Santa today and she did WONDERFUL!! No tears whatsoever - we were so excited. She is crawling everywhere and can now push herself into a sitting position. It is amazing how much she is changing. 12.17.08 Hard to believe our little one is now 9 months old - what a milestone to reach - she just over the weekend cut her 2nd tooth!! She is ever changing and leaving her parents wondering where did the time go - she has FINALLY learned to crawl (more of an army crawl) but she gets where she wants to go and fast!!! We've learned she has inherited a bit of that good ole Irish temper when things don't go her way - we are so looking forward to the holidays with her as she has been such a delight. We will try our hand at visiting Santa over the weekend and are crossing our fingers it goes well - we've been preparing her by showing her pictures and playing with her Santa doll - We want to wish all of our family a wonderful and happy holiday! 11.27.08 Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!! Raegan enjoyed her first Thanksgiving feast - including mashed potatoes, candied yams, and even a Turkey leg to top things off!!! Man oh Man!!! It was everywhere but it was good!!! Let's say she didn't take long to figure out that the hands work as a spoon and where the food is suppose to go! She knew she was even funnier the bigger the mess she made!!! We are enjoying watching her grow so much - any day now we expect her to take off crawling.. for now she is trying to master the "army" crawl and trying her best to achieve a sitting position from laying down. We can't wait for Christmas to come!!! 11.7.08 NEWSFLASH!! Raegan has officially cut her very first tooth - it was a little rough leading up to it but we knew it was coming. We could officially feel tooth on Friday and now you can clearly see the "white" of the tooth. She continues to sit up and enjoys playing with all her toys around her. If she ends up on her belly she wants to move but she hasn't quite figured out that feet and hands have to be on the floor in order to do so - right now she just "superman's" it and gets frustrated b/c she isn't going anywhere. Hard to believe she's almost 8 months old - time goes by way too fast!! 10.20.08 Well it has been a busy busy two months - we hit milestone 6 mths and now we are 7 mths old. So much has been going on - we now weigh in at 16lbs even. We have moved on from stage 1 foods to stage 2 and are enjoying yummy combinations like Apple/sweet potatoe, butternut squash and corn, harvest veagetables, pineapple/pear, bannans/apple/peaches, pear/strawberry granola, mixed grain cereal, oatmeal and all of my standard favorites. We even had some beef and gravy! She is rolling all over the place and if something is out of reach or she wants to get somewhere she'll just roll :) - Raegan is sitting up on her own now and is also beginning to push up even more on her hands and knees - crawling should be around the corner. We are a big girl when we go out to dinner and she gets to sit at the table with Mommy, Daddy and big sis in her big girl high chair. She's babbling up a storm with ma-ma, ba-ba and plenty of squeals and laughter (she apparently things she's a very funny girl). We think she's beginning the 'd' sound which makes Daddy super excited. Changing her diaper is quite a chore for Daddy as she is a wiggle worm (and I think she just enjoys getting Daddy flustered). She enjoys exercising in her jumper and her exer-saucer. She hasn't got her first tooth yet but we feel a nub and she is constantly chewing on anything she can get her hands on! We are looking forward to her first Halloween as she will be a pumpkin! 8.25.08 Raegan is now 5 months old. Hard to believe how fast she is growing. She rolls front to back - back to front - She is beginning to steady herself in a sitting position - shouldn't be long now and she'll be sitting on her own. We've had tons of new experiences over the past month - She began with cereal and has now tried bananas, pears, applesauce, squash and sweet potatoes - we are moving on to carrots. We bought her first "major toy" (and the putting together of pieces and parts begins just as we were exiting that stage with Ashleigh lol) She loves her exersaucer and gets so excited!! She is teething like crazy - the drooling and the biting on everything! Through it all we have weighed in today at a whopping 15 1/2 lbs!!!!! She is babbling on and on and on - we are truly enjoying her!! 8.1.08 Raegan had her 4 month check up today. She weighed in at 13lbs 6oz and is 25" long - her head circumference was 40cm. She had to get 4 shots (2 in each leg) and was a trooper - the Doctor said she was doing excellent and was a bit ahead of her milestones with grabbing the feet, reaching and her strength. He also gave us the green light to start veggies and fruit whenever we felt she would be receptive. Right now she's still getting used to the rice so we will wait a bit for that new adventure! She's like watching a clock when it comes to her schedule and its wonderful!!! She's sleeping 12 hours at night. We couldn't be more blessed. She's laughing and smilin and LOVES the attention - go figure (lol). Love to you all! 7.20.08 Raegan had her very first trip to the beach - We spent the weekend at Virginia Beach and celebrated Daddy's birthday! Although she didn't quite know what to think of her feet in the sand she did great! She will have no problems "chillin" at the beach with her family for years to come. She is reaching up and out for toys and starting to reach for everyone's face - it's amazing to watch her. Her new favorite activity is blowing rasberry's and she laughs afterwards (although Mommy doesn't think it's that funny when our mouth is full of rice cereal lol) We are weighing in now at a whopping 13lbs and growing so strong everyday! 7.14.08 - We enjoyed Raegan's 1st 4th of July in Beaufort, SC where she got to meet her new cousin Jax! She even had her first experience with cereal at this time - we haven't "gotten" that the point is to keep the cereal in the mouth lol - instead her favorite thing to do is just as she has a spoon full - she loves to give a rasberry in which all the cereal just runs down the front of her mouth - oh well we will get there - She sleeps in her own crib now like a big girl and lets us know when she is ready to go to sleep (like her mama she likes a schedule lol). We are rolling all over the place and grasping and reaching for our favorite toys. Hard to imagine that she has met so many milestones so quickly. 6.30.08 - Everyday is something new - Raegan is laughing out loud, she can grab her toes (it's her new favorite toy), she's holdng onto rattles and the most exciting is she is rolling over and over and over. She starts out on the middle of the mat and you blink and she's off the playmat onto the carpet. She is so much fun - we can spend hours just playing with her and laughing at all the new funny faces and new skills she's learning. She's on a great schedule and is truly a happy baby!! 6.17.08 Hard to believe our girl is officially 3 months old! My how she has changed - she's such a joy - we are truly blessed! She sleeps through the night approx 11 hours - she remains every so happy go lucky but trust me she will let you know when something is wrong!! 6.11.08 - Welcome to the flip side :) - Raegan has officially rolled from her tummy to her back and is oh so close from rolling from her back to her belly - she gets about 1/2 her body over but not the feet. I was able to capture on video her rolling from belly to back - we will try and take some more video and post it if possible - she is becoming so much fun with something new everyday!!!! She can just about hold her own in coversation now (lol). She is sleeping almost 10-11 hours at night (mommy and daddy are oh so happy!) All in all we are doing great - love to you all! 6.2.08 Our little girl is going on her 11th week - hard to believe - she is changing so much - what is even harder to believe is that I had to pack away the newborn clothes!!!!!! We are guestimating weight approx 11 1/2 - 12 lbs. We don't go back to the Doctor for an actual weight check / check up until August 1. She is talking up a storm cooing and babbling and even a laugh here and there. She is so much fun to interact with and is becoming a wiggle worm on the floor!!! We saw her roll over onto her side for the first time last week- if she could fit her fist in the mouth she would (believe me she tries) sucking on our fist has become our favorite past time. She is on a great schedule goes to bed by 8/8:30 every night - sleeps till midnight (when mommy wakes her to feed) and then goes back to sleep and sleeps till 5 / 5:30am. Between the smiles, the spit bubbles, the babbling - we are truly enjoying these moments - all of us!
