STORIES

Delaney turns four on Sunday the 24th. She will also start Pre-K on Monday the 25th. No big birthday party plans, just hanging around the pool at "Grami" Carole's house.

June 2008- Here we are again and another surgery checked off the list! Delaney had rhinoplasty on her nose to thin it out some and to add a tip.  Her Dr. took cartillage from her right ear and grafted it to the tip. Her "nose=cast" won't be taken off until Wednesday (two days from now) and you can already see a huge difference.  Delaney also had a few revisions to her upper lip. After her surgery we keep calling her Angelina.

Healing well - Hi 'all, Delaney had the surgical staple removed for her suture site yesterday. What a brave girl. I've updated some of her pictures so you can see the progress of her healing. Just amazing!

SURGERY - Delanewy got through her facial suegery good yesterday.  She is in ICU and on a ventilator for now, due to swelling.  She may have to go back into O,R, if the swelling dosn't improve in her throat.  Her tonsil have been really large and her doctor wasn't really going to take them out until sometime this fall. Otherwise everything is going well and her Drs and family are pleased with the outcome. Thanks for all of your prayers.

Happy Fouth of July! - Here's the latest.... Delaney does not have Celiac disease!  I guess she's still a bundle of misteries.  She is however going to be monitored for her esophageal problems.  She also scheduled for her facial reconstructive surgery on the 7th of August. Delaney and Daddy are going to have a fun fourth at a friends house, Mommy has to work :(.

Happy Spring All - Latest update; Delaney had an Endoscopy of her GI track on the 18th. So far her Dr. says everything looks great. We are waiting for lab results to get back from a biopsy that was done at the same time to see if she is intollerant to gluten. Cross-your-fingers! The other thought on why she still throws-up is that her tonsills are HUGE. She has an appt. with her ENT Dr. on Monday so we'll see about those then.

As of last month, Delaney is scheduled for facial reconsructive surgery arounf the 7th of August. We were hoping it would be after her bitrhday. I guess we'll just have to celebrate early!

I'll update new photos in the near future. Ie tomorrow.

1/3/07 - Hello 2007!  We hope everyone has a prosperous, healthy new year!  So much has happened since my last posting.  Delaney Started 2yr old Preschool in September. Her vocabulary went gangbusters. She really like her teachers Ms. Karen and Ms. Kendall.  She also loves to march and dance to music.  and in typical toddler fashion, she like to try and rearrange mommy and daddy's favorite things around the house. She hasn't had any surgerys since her last ear-tube place ment last spring.  We should be meeting with her cleft team sometime this month to find out when she has her next surgery.

April 9, 2006 - WOW, time flies... Delaney had new tubes puyt in her ears two weeks ago.  You would never know she had put put under. Two hours later she was laughing and running around with her friends Matt and Amanda.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!

Delaney is finally over 20 lbs!!!! So we can officially turn her around in her car seat, even though we've had her around since her birthday.  She is growing like a weed, she's over 31 inches!  She still has her feeding tube.  She eats some, but has good and bad days still.  Delaney loves to get into all of mommy's kitchen cabinets and take out soda cans and tupperware.  She also likes to play try and get me.  She has an all day meeting with the cranio-facial team at Children's on the 19th of January.  Hopefully we'll have some idea of what we have to look forward to in the way of surgeries for 2006.

Oct. 4th, 2005 - Delaney got fitted for her first pair of glasses today!  We pick them up on Monday after her O.T. visit with Miss Kim. They are real cute. We'll make sure to post a picture soon.

Oct. 3rd, 2005 - Hi, we just got back from visiting "Aunti" Jonette and "unkle" T.C. in Georgia.   We had lots of fun and can't wait untill the next time we see them.  Delaney is now on a higher calorie formula. She has been on it about two weeks.  We see her nutritionist in a couple of weeks to see if she's gaining any weight.

August 24th, 2005 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DELANEY!!!! Our little girl is ONE today!!!

In the news today, the baby giant panda at the San Diego Zoo, is a GIRL!!!

Aug. 21, 2005 - We had a little family "party" for Delaney today.  I made strawberry flavored cupcakes decorated with Strawberry Shortcake. She had fun skwish her hands in the frosting and getting all messy.  However she didin't like the taste, oh, well!

Aug 1,2005 - We found anothr tooth on the 30th.  She got em, but were curious because there not coming in the normal order. She has gotten 1 upper incisor(left) and her 1st molar also on the left side.  I've read that it is common for "clefties" to be missing teeth.

July 29, 2005 - Happy Birthday to my GodFather Mark!  Also, Big NEWS, I got my first tooth today!!!!!!!

July 20 - Hi everyone! I't been a few weeks since I last posted any stories about Delaney.  We've been busy moving. Delaney is growing, up to 18lb10oz!  She crawls all over the place and is very intrested in everything she not supposted to be in. No word on any new surgeries yet. She is still going to O.T., but now only every other week.  Eating is still up to Delaney's mood, some days see's up to taking a few spoon fulls, but mostly not enough to count as a real meal.  She love to take water from a bottle, but not much else.:(

I hope everyone is having a good summer, we are trying to go to T.C.'s retiremnet party in September. It will be Delaney's first plane trip. TTFN!!!

5/26/05 - In Loving Memory - "Unkie" Brian, you always got a smile out of me.

4/17/05 - Delaney had her soft palate reepair on April 5th. She did really well, her recovery was fast.  Thankfully for Mom and Dad, she didn't have any other repairs that day.  Her doctor decided to wait to do refinements on her lip. Hooray for Delaney, she didn't have to wear her splints for more than a few days! Off on our next adventure...May 1st we are traveling to Idaho to see great-gramdpa & great-grandma!

3/18/05-Update time! Apparently nothing is abnormally wrong with Delaney tummy, whatever was wrong corrected itself.  Her doctor said that if she continues or gets declines again they may consider putting her back on Reglan, but she dosn't want to go back in for surgery. Onthe topic on surgery though...Delaney is finally scheduled for her second reconstruction for her clefts.  They will be working in her mouththis time.  I'll let you know what they are actually doing when we go to her pre-op appointment next Friday 3/25. By the way her surgery is on April 5th.

2/24/05 - DELANEY IS 6 MONTHS OLD TODAY!!! Well, we still don't knnow much about what's going on inher little tummy.  We saw a specialist yesterday and he's hem & hawin' about stuff, want to talk to her surgeon and get back to us later. So I was quite frustrated yesterday. On a brighter note, Delaney's baptism is on Sunday, hopw to see many friends and family.  Her Great-Nana is coming to see her for the first time.
