3/18/05-Update time! Apparently nothing is abnormally wrong with Delaney tummy, whatever was wrong corrected itself.  Her doctor said that if she continues or gets declines again they may consider putting her back on Reglan, but she dosn't want to go back in for surgery. Onthe topic on surgery though...Delaney is finally scheduled for her second reconstruction for her clefts.  They will be working in her mouththis time.  I'll let you know what they are actually doing when we go to her pre-op appointment next Friday 3/25. By the way her surgery is on April 5th.

2/24/05 - DELANEY IS 6 MONTHS OLD TODAY!!! Well, we still don't knnow much about what's going on inher little tummy.  We saw a specialist yesterday and he's hem & hawin' about stuff, want to talk to her surgeon and get back to us later. So I was quite frustrated yesterday. On a brighter note, Delaney's baptism is on Sunday, hopw to see many friends and family.  Her Great-Nana is coming to see her for the first time.

1/12/05 - Hi everyone, Happy 2005!  Delaney is doin' great just quite urpy in the mornings.  She will be having an upper G.I. soon to see if her fundoplication of her stomach has slipped.  Save the dat (Feb. 27,2005) Delaney will be baptized that day.  Also, Dr. Cohen will be scheduling her next surgery soon. Around the first part of March. At that time he will repair her hard and soft palates and make some adjustments to her lip.   We would like to wish Grandpa Roberts a Happy Birthday (Jan 10th) and Papa Dolan (would have been 65 today).

10/9/2004 - Delaney's surgery was a success. She now has a gastrostomy "button" on her tummy. She started getting feed through it yesterday and they are gradually adding 10cc to her feedings every three hours. We will have to wait and see how things go with oral feedings. Last night she weighed in at 9lbs 8oz!

10/3/2004 - Dleaney had a Upper GI study done on Wednesday last week. It showed that she has a Hiatal Hernia. Which is good and bad. Good because now we know why she hasn't been eating and why she has so much vomitting/spit-up. The bad new is that she is back into surgery on Wednesday the 6th if October to fix it and to have a GI tube put into her tummy for feedings. So no more NG tube into her nose, it will go directly into her tummy now. Hopefully not for too long. We were hopping that the doctors would fix her lip at the same time, but they would like her to weigh at least 10 lbs. Good news though, she weighed 9 lbs. 1.2 oz. today!

9/28/2004 - Well, Delaney didn't come home over the weekend. Her Pediatrician wants her to have three good days in a row. Meaning gaining weight, eating and not too much spitting up (more than just a "wet-burp"). She has two good days then a bad day. Monday she would only eat 10 to 30 cc of formula at a feeding and she can eat up to 100cc at a time, So we now she can do it. They are thinking of upping her calories again and if that doesn't work they may need to put her NG tube back in.

9/22/2004 - 8lbs 6.6 oz. and growing!!! Delaney pulled out her feeding tube night before last, Nurses and Dr. decided to keep it out, lets see what happens. Well, she's doing great!! She is now taking 3 oz of formula every 4 hrs. Her nurse said that the NG tube was probably interfering with breathing and irritating her throat and tummy.

Drum roll please.....she comming home this weekend, maybe as soon as Friday!!!!!!

9/18/2004 -Yesterday we had a meeting with Delaneys' Dismorphalic Doctor (I'm not sure if thast's spelled right) Any way, she looks into way Delaney has these problems, if ther are related and if there is anything else that she may have.
Well, it went well and she passed all the genetic tests that would show any catastrophic syndromes. Her MRI went well and it is just a wait and see what happens now. The next step for her now is to continue to get better at eating and to continue to gain weight. She will have her lip repaired some time between 2 and 3 months of age. Her palate some time btween 6 months and 1 year of age. And some other refinements to her skull some time between 4 and 5. That all along with many trip to the Dentist too.
