Stories January 2, 2009
Over Christmas Sophie had gone with her Grammy to a Christmas party at The Howard's house. When she asked where they were going Debbie told her they were going to a birthday party for Jesus. When they go there Sophie was devastated to find that Jesus wasn't there. So Debbie explained to her that Jesus is in her heart and she was ok.
I tell you that to tell you this. Soph woke up last night complaining of a stomach ache and we took some medicine and went back to sleep. I wake up this morning to her throwing up all over herlself and all over my bed. So I give her a bath and braid her hair. As we are driving to my Mom's (cause I have to work today), she says she needs to throw up again. "Crap!" I am thinking, I set the bucket by the door and then drove off without it. So I tell her to try to hold it. She tells me "I can't, Jesus is pushing it out!"
I just thought that was too cute so I had to share. Hopefully she won't be sick all weekend. Happy New Year everyone! December 29, 2008 Wow, I have been worse at this updating thing that I anticipated. I have also been really bad about taking pictures lately so maybe one is a direct result of the other. I'm grasping here, I know. John is still working in Nashville for the time being and the kids and I are here so that can sometimes be overwhelming, but we are good. Soph is doing gymnastics at the Little Gym and she really enjoys it. I think I am going to put Drake in karate up there also. Brice is in his senior year so he has always got something better to do and someone more important to see. Eh, such is life. No, John and I still haven't gotten married so don't bother asking. I don't want a wedding so don't be looking for an invitation any time soon. I don't want the stress, the debt or the people staring at me. So if we do something, it will be just the two of us and maybe a party afterward. I understand some of you don't agree with it and that is ok. You are entitled to your opinion, each of you so enjoy it. Christmas was good, very busy, but good. I have thought a lot about what possible New Years resolution I am going to make and I have decided what I am going to do is focus more on myself, John and the kids and less on everyone else. That is my goal. I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful New Year and I hope that 2009 turns out to be your best year yet!!!
Hugs & Kisses to you all!! September 18, 2008 - It's been crazy lately. John came home from New Mexico the third week in August and since then it has been non-stop going and craziness! We had the Berger Reunion on Labor Day weekend. The following weekend Big John fell and almost cut his leg off! Then twelve hours later Brice ended up in the hospital. So for the first three days of that week I was at one hospital with Brice while John was at another hospital with his Dad. They are both doing good now though so that is good. Big John will be immobile for approximately eight weeks so John and Sophie are spending most days and nights during the week out there with him and the boys and I are at home, work and school. The following Friday after the hospital trips, Hurricane Ike hit affecting Debbie, Tom & Josh and also Derek, Bette & Anthony (and of course, Clint, Stephanie, Keeleigh and baby bump) because DTJ live in Pearland and DBA live in Clear Lake. So it has been lots of ups and downs and pretty much constant chaos around here...but we're making it. That's what we do! July 1, 2008 - Well the summer seems to be going by so fast. It's already July and I feel like it just started. Anyway, all is well. Sophie broke her leg on Memorial Day when the dog tripped her but she got her cast off on June 26th so that is good. That was kind of a pain! I am going to New Mexico to see John so that will be fun I am sure!! Sophie is in Houston with Debbie for a couple of weeks and Drake is going to be going to Ohio with his Dad soon. Brice is doing summer school and getting himself back on the right track. Thank God!! But right now everything is good. I hope you all are doing just as well. May 15, 2008 - Ok, I know, I am HORRIBLE at keeping this up. I have just had so many things going on that honestly I just let it slip through the cracks. She has gotten so big. She is so FUNNY! John is in New Mexico working and has been since August 24, 2007 but he should be back in August of this year. We are really looking forward to being a family again, we have missed him. Brice has had his issues with school but he is getting them figured out and trying to make things right again. Drake, well he is great, as always. He has been in choir this year and just having fun being a kid. June 11, 2007 Well, everything is winding down on our end. Thank goodness! Hard to believe that since March my sister has had a heart attack and a mini stroke, my best friends husband was in a horrible car accident, my house was broken into, my nephew was robbed at gun point, my brother passed away and my brother-in-law has had triple bypass. Whew, that is a lot to fit into such a short time period. So, I am hoping that we are past all of that now. On a lighter note, the birthday party for Sophie, McKinley and Anthony went great. The kids had a blast. And this past weekend I went to Samantha's birthday party as well. It was great to see her. She is just absolutely beautiful. Well, I am hoping not to do a whole lot this weekend. Maybe finish up Sophie's room as best I can. Other than that I just want to relax at home with Soph since the boys won't be there. She is in that stage where she is a total brat but dang she's funny. She wanted me to read a book the other day and said "read this Mommy" and again "read this Mommy" and then there it came, finger pointed at me "Do you hear me? Read this Mommy, NOW!" Oh yeah, I am fairly certain we are approaching the terrible two's and that is crazy cause she has only been two for three days. Anyway, I better cut this one short but I hope to update you guys soon with more pictures and stories. I know I have gotten away from the stories lately and I will try to get back to that soon. I love you all. Take care. May 17, 2007 Well this weekend is Cash's birthday, he will be one. I know we will enjoy it once we get there but I was really looking forward to a weekend of staying home with everything that has been going on lately. Next weekend is McKinley's birthday but we won't be doing a party for that. We are going to do a party for McKinley, Anthony and Sophie all at same time on June 2nd. I guess I need to get my butt in gear and order a cake huh? I am wanting to get Sophie a swing set but man they are expensive. Even the metal ones aren't cheap! I will keep looking and see what I can find. I know that I have to work because financially we need it right now but man I miss being home with her. She is at daycare ALL day long and I feel like I miss out on so much. And our weekends are so jam-packed that I don't feel like I really get to spend any time just playing with her. And now that Drake gets out of school next week for the summer I REALLY wish I were home. I feel like I hardly see him anymore. I know that he is getting older and likes to do other things but he still likes to play games and watch movies and stuff. Maybe we can start doing more of that soon. Well, I don't have much else to say right now so I will try to update the pictures tonight and maybe update again after the weekend. Hugs & Kisses To All... Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!! October 17, 2006 Well this weekend is Miles reunion at Cato and next weekend it is off to Houston for an awards ceremony at which Debbie is being honored. It will be a busy week so I doubt that I will update any time soon. By the time I get home I don't even look at the computer normally. I will try on the weekends but lately the weekends have just been too busy. I also wanted to take a minute to remind anyone who is interested that Bridges To Life will be starting another Restoring Peace session at Hutchins State Prison in January of 2007 and we are ALWAYS looking for volunteers. Keep in mind it is a 14 week commitment for once a week for two hours. But it is so great. I really think you would love it. Anyway, if you are interested please post here or send me an email and let me know and I will email you an application so that we can get it all taken care of and have you ready to start come January. HUGS & KISSES TO EVERYONE AND HAVE A SAFE HALLOWEEN!
September 22, 2006 Well, Sophie spent the week with her Daddy in Houston visiting her Grammy. I am sure she had a good time but I am so glad to have her back. We will be moving next weekend so it quite possibly could be a while before the page is updated again. Like that's a change! Anyway, everyone is doing good and I will update later. Here are a few pictures of her and Cash playing. They'll probably get the chance to do that a lot more now that we'll be neighbors so maybe I will post some more soon.
I have setup a site for Clinton at www.babyhomepages.net/clintonclydecole I did not know that they had already started on one so sorry guys. When you are ready I will give you the info on how to change the stuff or I can do it for you. I don't mind. I know you have very little time for things like that. Hugs & Kisses XOXO
Well, Miss Sophie is ROTTEN!!! She is the biggest ham. She has grown some curly hair and has an entire head full of teeth. She cracks herself up and thinks she is the funniest person she has ever met. And she is smart. She understands so well. She doesn't always necissarily mind but she understands. And sneaky...man is she sneaky! But she tries to count to five and she tries to say her ABC's. She can say, or at least you can noticably tell that she is trying to say Mama, Daddy, Grammy, Papa, Buster, baby, Eddie, Drake, Brice, NO, Stop, Don't...you know, all the important words.
We recently went to the Berger Reunion (John's Mom's side) at Lloyd Park and here are some of the pictures from that. Let me tell you, my sweet baby couldn't have looked more white trash if I had set her in front of a trailer with nothing but a diaper on. It was also Debbie's and Susan's birthday so that was fun. Oh, and on Saturday, September 2, 2006 Clinton Clyde Cole was born three months premature and weighing in at 2lbs 6oz. He is doing good but please keep him in your prayers as he has a long road ahead of him. ALL YOU MISSOURI FOLKS...I SURE DO MISS YOU AND HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON! HUGS & KISSES TO ALL. Her First Birthday Pictures...Isn't she a doll?!
There is also a Miles Family Website for those of you Miles who would like to check it out and stay informed ( www.thefamilypost.com/milesfamily )
March 22, 2006 Hugs & Kisses everybody.

February 21, 2006 Well we went out with the Lockheed guys over the weekend for my birthday (32) and Michelle's birthday (30). We had a really good time. Weston, you two should have come. But I can understand being pregnant and not wanting to go anywhere. Anyway, here are the pictures Ryan took. Enjoy and thanks you guys for coming out, it was a lot of fun! I am gonna try to put up some more videos of Sophie by the end of the week. Hugs & Kisses everybody. I hope you are all doing great!!! February 17, 2006 Miss Sophie now has four new teeth on top. She got the first one (to hte left of her front teeth)on Wednesday the 15th, one on right the 16th and the two front teeth are breaking through today. Yeah!!!! for Sophie. I wanted to tell the Tims how happy I am that everything turned out so well for you guys. We love you very much! I also wanted to tell Logan that he is in our prayers and we think of him everyday and look forward to being able to see him soon. January 12, 2006 ...I know, I haven't done any better at updating this than I did in the past. I apologize but I am not going to promise anything will change. I can only promise to do my best. Now, what I will do is put some videos up when I get them so that you guys can see for yourselves the wonderful progress that this beautiful girl has made in such a short time. Some of these videos get a bit blurry at times because I took all of them with my digital camera. Thanks for keeping up with her, we truly appreciate it. Just for this morning, I am going to smile when I see your face and laugh when I feel like crying. Just for this morning, I will let you choose what you want to wear, and smile and say how perfect it is. Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play. Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together. Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles. Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck, and I will buy you one if he comes by. Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned. Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you trying to fix them. Just for this afternoon, I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.. Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you. Just! for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry. Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars. Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favorite TV shows. Just for this evening when I run my finger through your hair as you pray, I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given. I will think about the mothers and fathers who are searching for their missing children, the mothers and fathers who are visiting their children's graves instead of their bedrooms, and mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly, and screaming inside that they can't handle it anymore. And when I kiss you good night I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then, that I will thank God for you, and ask him for nothing, except one more day.............. Saturday, November 26, 2005 ...I know, I have been horrible with the whole updating thing. Well, Miss Sophie is now 5 1/2months old and in the last week she has got two teeth and learned to hold her bottle on her own. She isn't crawling yet or rocking or anything, but McKinley is! I think that she will be crawling by the end of the week. We will be going to Houston this coming Friday to see Grammy and go to the Big XII Championship game. She is getting so big and she is so happy I wish you all could see her cause you just can't help but smile. I don't know how her cheeks don't hurt from smiling so much. Well, I am not really in a story telling mood so I am just going to post some pictures from this past month and I will try to update sooner next time. Hugs & Kisses to all and I hope your holidays are wonderful.
Wednesday, October 5, 2005: SHE DID IT!!! SHE ROLLED OVER. I am not sure that this will work or not but I tried emailing the clip and it was too big. So...here we go. I am hoping that I can put this on here and it will allow you to view it.
OH, be sure to click the pictures link at the top of the page to see all of the pictures that are posted, the home page only shows four. Hugs & Kisses September 6, 2005: We went to Missouri this weekend and Sophie finally got to meet her Uncle Mark and Aunt Bob. :) It was a great time! She even got to meet her Great Uncle Dennis, who I haven't seen in 20 years myself. It was really neat to have the whole family together at one time like that. I don't have but a second to put up some pictures then I am off to work since we just got back in town. The pictures from our encore appearance at Mark's house will be up tomorrow probably. They were on the camera that Mom had since my camera had died so visit again tomorrow to see those. Enjoy! Love and Hugs to All!!! She is HERE!!!! And she is a cutie, if I may say so myself. We would like to say thank you to everyone who came to the hospital and/or sent flowers or gifts, we appreciate you all. I was kind of out of it some of the time so if you came during that time I apologize if I was not real talkative. It had been a LONG day. We have had a lot of people ask about what we need for her so I am going to go ahead and post that we are registered at Babies R Us and Target under my name, Julie Vader. Please do not feel obligated to buy anything that is in no way what this is intended for. Your visits and wonderful thoughts are plenty. We got the gift we wanted when she came out healthy. She is a doll! For those of you who haven't seen her, you are missing out. She is very good natured and content. We really lucked out there. I am not sure who she looks like. I can see parts of both of us in her but I think she may look more like John. I think that is something that we will have to determine over time. I also wanted to take a minute to say thanks to my Mother, my sister Candi, Aunt Skimo and Grammy Debbie who came and helped with her and the house after she was born. You girls really helped a lot and I, personally, really appreciate everything you did. I love you all very much! Well, I am gonna cut this short so that I can get some pictures posted before John gets back with Sophie (they went to Grandpa John's work to meet his friends). I will try to keep it updated as much as I can. Please call and/or come by and see her. We are usually home but you may want to call first just in case. Big Hugs!
