Stories 5/3/05 Well, sorry it's been so long since I've updated Beau's site! We have been very busy traveling! We flew to Minnesota and Beau got to meet his Grandpa Christensen for the first time along with all his cousins, aunties, uncles, and great-grandparents! We had a wonderful time but it went soo fast as I knew it would. We got to visit and stay at Rebekah, Grant, and Haakon's adorable home and we also got to visit Bridget and Ryan at their home too! It was fun to see where everybody lived in Minneapolis. Beau did so good on all his 1st plane rides! The last few days we have been in the Smoky Mountains staying at a cabin with Heath and Becca Copp. It was so fun to see them again! They spoiled Beau while they were here! I can't believe I forgot to take pictures of the beautiful mountain views at the cabin! 4/13/05 Today Beau and Daddy went grocery shopping while Mommy gave violin lessons. We have started to have Beau sleep on his back now instead of in his carseat. We figure the sooner he learns to sleep flat on his back, the sooner we can move him into the crib in his own room. He didn't have any trouble at all switching from his carseat to laying flat. He continues to smile more and more each day. He loves to be sung to. He likes the songs the "B-I-B-L-E" and "You Are My Sunshine" and he especially loves to play peek-a-boo! You are guarenteed a smile when you play that game! 4/9/05 Well Beau turned two months old yesterday! I can't believe how fast the time goes! He is getting bigger and cuter every day. More and more of his personality is starting to show. Today he was so happy and smiling all the time! He has started to coo and make other noises now too! Beau and I are excited to go see all the family in Minnesota! We are going to be there April 20th-27th. Beau has been sleeping consistantly about 6-8 hours a night now! It is so nice! 4/5/05 Today I had my postpartum checkup. Everything was great and Dr.Broady said unless we have some happy news, I won't have to go back there for a year. We don't plan on having any more happy news for at least a year and a half or two years! I have been pregnant for 18 out of the last 24 months so I'm looking forward to trying to get my body back to normal! We got to see all the nurses and doctors again that we got to know so well when I went in twice a week during my pregnancy. Last night Beau watched tv for the first time! It was so cute. Tim and Beau watched the final college basketball game. I think he really liked seeing all that movement and the bright tv flashes. Beau will smile alot when I tickle him now. It's so cute. 3/31/05 Last night Beau slept sooo good! He slept from 10:00 pm till 5:00 am and then after he ate, he went back to sleep until 9:00! We got a new mower today! Now we don't have any excuses for having long grass. The weather has been so nice and the grass has really been growing!
3/29/05 Well we all had a wonderful Easter weekend with Papee, Gramee, Uncle Brian, and Auntie Niki! It was fun to see everyone in Georgia again. Auntie Niki made the most delicious Easter dinner! Mommy needs to take some cooking lessons from her! Molly and Beau were so sad to see Gramee and Papee leave! They sure got spoiled while they were here! Papee babysat Beau a few times while Gramee and Mommy went shopping! We weighed Beau and found out that he weighs about 11 pounds! It was actually 12 but he still had his diaper and his clothes on. He sure his growing! When he was first born, I was so worried that he wasn't getting enough to eat. I guess he's getting plenty! 3/24/05 Beau is excited to see his Gramee and Papee tonight! They are driving down from Pennsylvania to be with us for Easter. Sunday morning we are going to drive to Georgia to be with uncle Brian and auntie Niki. Beau has been focusing alot more lately. He loves to stare at Molly and anything with bright colors. A lady that Tim works with got us baby monitors and it shoots a projection up on the ceiling of moving fish and water. He absolutely loves it! It also plays very calming music and ocean sounds. It's the only thing that will stop him from crying sometimes when he's fussy. His eyelashes keep getting a little bit darker. Now they are a very light brown. He has developed a little diaper rash so I've been trying to change his diaper as often as possible to keep him dry. But, that's hard when he's always dirtying his diaper! Tim loves his new job! It's so nice to have him home with us every night! :) 3/22/05 Beau got to see his cousin Haakon! He just thought he was the neatest thing ever! My cousin Rebekah got to stay with us for a night on her way to Florida. We had lots of fun catching up and talking about "mommy-hood". It is so fun that we both have boys! Now they will have someone to play with when the families get together! Haakon is such a beautiful little boy, he was so happy and smiley! He is 3 months old already and growing like a weed! I am so excited for Beau to get to that stage where he smiles and starts to "talk". Beau is 6 weeks old already! I can't believe it! I am so glad that I don't have to work so I can stay home with him. I couldn't imagine leaving him now to go back to work! I miss him when I have to leave him for an hour let alone a whole day!
3/19/05 Poor Beau has not been feeling good at all! He has been running a little fever and has been crying and crying! He sure is making mommy worried! I'd give anything to make him all better, I just hate seeing him so uncomfortable. Well, hopefully whatever this is will just run it's course and leave his tiny little body! He needs to get better so he can have fun playing with cousin Haakon when he comes to visit in a few days. Beau's eyelashes are changing color. Instead of almost white like they were, they are now a dark blonde. I bet they'll turn brown. I think his eyebrows are changing too. He has been growing so much lately, his head is outgrowing his hair! It kind of looks like he has a receding hair line now! 3/17/05 Well, not much happened today. Beau is starting to focus on things alot more. He will follow an object if you move it around in front of his eyes. He also likes classical music! We were having a hard time calming him earlier today so I put in a cd of Itzhak Perlman playing the violin and he quited down right away! Maybe we have a future violinist! :) I think he is starting to realize that if he cries, someone will come and hold him. When he was first born, he never cried unless he was hungry. Now, he will cry just to be held. I love to hold him but now it is getting even harder to get things done! So tonight while I was cleaning up the kitchen after supper, I strapped on the baby carrier so I could hold him and do the dishes at the same time. He has been doing pretty good about sleeping at night. He only wakes up 2 to 3 times a night now. 3/16/05 Yesterday we went to Cracker Barrel with Rick and Natalie and Beau got soooo much attention from all the waitors and waitresses! Last night we went to Dave and Michele's house for dinner and Beau met his friend Anthony! Anthony is 9 1/2 months old. He's a cutie pie! Today, Tim babysat Beau again while I taught violin lessons. They went shopping and had a wonderful guys day out. :) Tonight at church Beau got to see Auntie Niki again. She was up here visiting from Georgia with a couple girls from their church. Then we came home and took pictures with daddy before he went to work. 3/14/05 Today Tim, Beau, Molly,and I all went to the park and got some exercise! It felt good to get out of the house! We found a nice running track and some tennis courts! We need to get some tennis rackets so we can play! It's a shame not to take advantage of this beautiful weather we've been having. We are going to the store now to pick some things up so we can grill out. Beau slept great last night. He went to sleep at about 10:30 and didn't wake up till 4:00. Hopefully this is a routine he's starting! 3/13/05 It was another beautiful day here in Tennessee today. I think it was between 65 and 70 degrees. I picked the wrong day to wear a wool sweater to church! Tonight my pager went off just as church was ending and when I got to the nursery, I could hear Beau screaming all the way down the hallway! He was sooo hungry! I think Beau is starting to lose some of his hair now. The last couple days I've noticed that he doesn't have quite as full of a head of hair as he used to. Oh well, maybe it will all fall out and come in a different color like blonde or dark brown. Right now it's a mixture of blonde, red and brown! Nobody can tell what color it is. 3/12/05 This morning when Tim got home from work, he and Beau just had the best time snuggling in bed! It was so cute, Molly even joined in on the family fun! It is a beautiful, sunny, and warm day here in Tennessee! Beau and I went to Dillard's and met Natalie for lunch at the mall. It was the first time I got to use the stroller! It was wonderful, I love it! I thought at first that it might be a hassle because it's so big but it glided around so easily I didn't even feel like I was pushing anything. Also, it's nice and easy to fold up and put in the trunk. Well, I got to show Beau off to all the ladies I used to work with at Dillard's. They all thought he was pretty cute! Well, it's time for Beau to eat again and then we're off to the grocery store! 3/11/05 Well, today was a lovely day with Beau! He hasn't had any gas or anything so he's been a happy boy today. He slept really well last night! He slept from 9:30 p.m to 4:15 a.m! Then he went back to sleep and didn't wake again till 7:45. It was wonderful. I kept waking up thinking to myself, "I can't believe he hasn't woken up yet!".I think he slept so well because yesterday he was awake practically all day crying. Unfortunetly, we didn't get to have his doctor's appt. today due to some complications with our insurance so we didn't get to find out how much he weighed or anything. Tim, Beau, and I all went to Chili's today. Tim had boneless buffalo wings and I had Chocolate Chip Paradise Pie. MMMmmm MMmmm. 3/10/05 Poor Beau did not have a good day today! I think he must have had alot of gas pain again. He has been crying off and on all day long. :( I tried giving him those Gerber infant drops and it seemed to help for a little while but as soon as they wore off, he would start crying again. I hate it when I can't stop him from crying, I feel so bad for him. He also spit up quite often today which he normally doesn't do. One time he spit up and it all went right down the front of my shirt! It was really warm and nasty! :) Well, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for him. He has a doctor's appt. tomorrow so it will be fun to see how much he weighs now and how tall he is! 3/9/05 Last night after talking to cousin Rebekah, we decided that we needed to buy a baby swing! We thought that it might help the babies feel like they're being held so the mommy's can get something done! So, we got one at Target and so far I think Beau really likes it. I'm surprised Molly doesn't bark at it since she barks at anything that moves like the vacuum, electric tape measure, Beau's stroller, etc... Anyways, Beau just sits in the swing with his eyes wide open and looking around. He seems to be really content in it. Daddy babysat Beau today while I gave violin lessons. They had "guys day". It worked out really well. Beau had another good night last night. He only woke twice again to feed. It made it much easier to get up this morning having gotten a little more sleep. 3/8/05 Beau is one month old today! I can't believe it! In some ways it seems like it was just yesterday that we were in the hospital having him, but then it also seems like we've always had him. He slept sooo good last night! He only woke up twice to eat. It was very nice for both mommy and daddy! He started crying again last night around bedtime so we gave him some Gerber drops for gas pain and a little bit later, he was alseep. Right now, daddy and Beau are just hanging out watching hunting on t.v. He is wide awake looking around at everything. 3/7/05 Mommy and Beau are hoping to take a trip up north to Minnesota to visit all his family there sometime in April. He is anxious to meet his Grandpa C.! I have been telling him stories of all the white snow there so we will have to bundle him up to stay nice and warm!
3/7/05 Beau has been such a good baby! He hardly ever cried at all until just recently at bedtime, he started this crying phase. I'm not sure if it's gas pain or what. Last night, he slept good except for waking every 2 hours to eat! I do not mind feeding him every 2 hours but I have to be honest, I am really looking forward to the time when he sleeps through the night.
