Stories 4/27/07 I do not deserve to have such sweet little boys! They are so precious and every day I wish I could just "freeze" them at the ages they're at so they do not grow up too fast on me! One of my favorite things is to hold one of them when they're sleeping so I can snuggle them and kiss them and they won't try to run away! I know even in a few short years I am going to wish that I could go back in time and enjoy these sweet baby years again. Beau loves to help me in whatever I'm doing. If I vacuum the floor, he runs and grabs his Thomas the Train and follows my every step, and goes over everything I have just vacuumed. Today he helped me load the dishwasher! Of course I re-loaded it again after I layed him down for a nap. :) We have been driving around looking at houses quite a bit, and Beau loves to give us his input from the backseat. We hear, "Nice Yard!", and "Cute House!". It's too funny. He sure repeats everything we say! It's a good thing we don't swear, or he would have a sailor's mouth already! :) Well, I better get back to cleaning up the house! It's a never ending process especially when you've got kids! We're having an open house on Sunday. 4/22/07 Well, we put our house on the market last Friday. Hopefully we will have an easy time selling it and finding a new and bigger place. I put some pictures of the house on here so that all of you who have never been able to visit us, can see the house before we move. Beau and Judson are still sick! Uff da! We have been through the flu, the cold, conjunctivitis in the eyes, ear infections (for Judson) and everything inbetween! Can't wait till these summer bugs get kicked out of their systems! Judson is crawling everywhere and pulling up on the furniture now. He also seems to be getting hurt all the time now too. He wants to be wherever we are and is always falling over, getting his fingers shut in a door, or getting toys snatched away from him by his big brother. We think one of these days he will be bigger than Beau, so he will get his chance to get even! Tim got me a ticket to go see Itzhak Perlman the other night when he came into Knoxville! He is probably my very favorite classical violinist ever! It was amazing! Very inspiring- if only I had time to practice like I used too! The theater was so neat too!
4/16/07 I have been doing a terrible job at taking pictures and keeping this site updated! Last night Beau had his first experience with throwing up! He made it 2 years without ever having the stomach flu. Poor little guy, he was so miserable and didn't know what was going on! We didn't realize what was wrong either until he started throwing up. He had been crying and crying and was not acting like himself. We offered him everything we could think of to get him to calm down like licorice and pop (before we knew he was sick) but he kept saying,"No!" Daddy was a trooper too. He got vomited on all over his shoulder and face and didn't even flinch! Beau seems much much better today. He has been running around and playing like himself again. Judson has been fighting a yucky cold or something for the last few days. He has been coughing and has had yucky goopy eyes. I have been having some really painful stomach ulcer attacks at night. I would really appreciate your prayers for me to get this under control. I will try to go to the doctor when I can have someone watch the boys for me. They will have to be all better first though, because I don't want them getting my friend's kids sick too. Tim is doing great and so far has not come down with any of the bugs that are going through our house! 3/30/07 Oh what a day! If we had family close by, today would have been one of those days where I would've enlisted the help of a much wiser and more patient grandma or grandpa! The day started off by being told once again that a house we found and loved already had an offer on it. This is the third house we have found and thought, "this is the one!" and then found out someone had just placed an offer on it. It's not a big deal, but that was just the start of the day. Judson has been so fussy all day. He is not feeling good and so needless to say, my plans to get some things done around the house did not happen. He hardly let me put him down all day and when I did, he just cried. Later this afternoon, I decided to get the kids out and get some fresh air. So, I took them to Beau's new favorite spot, the fountain and duck pond in Fountain City. He loves to see the all the duckies and the pretty water. After arriving at the duck pond, I could not find a ramp to get the stroller down near the water so I thought I would try strolling down the steps. Bad idea! Dumb mommy! As I was almost to the bottom of the steps, it got really steep and poor Judson flipped out of the carseat that was attached to the stroller! He landed upside down buckled in his carseat but did not escape without a bump and a bruise on his little forehead! I rushed to the bottom of the steps to rescue him from this frightening position when Beau came tumbling down after us! So there I was, two screaming children and a bottle, sippy cup, stroller, carseat, and blanket in random places all around on the ground. I have decided that in each family, there should be 3 parents! One mommy, one daddy who goes to work, and one more daddy who can stay home and help the mommy! Wouldn't that be nice? I guess it's days like this where if we were rich, we would hire a live-in nanny to help me go on outings with the kids, or maybe just stay home and clean my house while I take the kids out. Or maybe we would have a nanny and a fulltime housekeeper! I guess I just need to have experiences like this so that I will know better next time! It's a good thing that kids are so resiliant and hopefully will never remember days like this! 3/26/07 Today is a beautuful day here in Knoxville. It has been in the 80's and sooo sunny! I think all you guys need to come and visit! Or maybe you all just need to move here to be close to us! Judson is taking a good nap right now and I was hoping to get Beau to lay down during the same time. But, he is as energetic as ever right now and I know if I laid him down, he would just make a bunch of noise playing in his room and probably wake up Jud. So, right now he is running around the house chasing Molly and snorting! He just figured out how to snort like a piggy today. Beau has been talking so much! He amazes Tim and I every day of what he can say. He's putting more phrases together and everything he says is usually at least 2-3 words. Today he told me that his favorite puppy is a girl. He also said daddy was a girl but I assured him that daddy was a boy just like him and Judson. Everywhere we go Beau scans the sky looking so hard to find a plane. He loves it when he spots more than one. Then he says, "Two planes!" or "Three planes!" Yesterday as I was bringing him into the nursery at church, he heard a train whistle. He wanted to tell everyone inside the nursery that he heard Thomas outside! I hope you all are having a wonderful day and I feel so blessed to be able to stay home with our 2 boys and enjoy this wonderful weather outside! p.s Jud has 2 teeth now!
3/20/07 Beau was great today during all my violin lessons! He did not cry or fuss at all when all the people came. I was so happy! Judson finally got his first tooth about a week ago. He ran a little temp. but nothing too bad unlike every time Beau got a tooth! Hopefully this is how it will be everytime he gets one. He also does a mean army crawl! He can sure get around with his army crawl! He's getting alot "sturdier" and feels more like solid muscle! He's also lost almost all his baby fat now. He's not skinny at all but he used to be so chubby and cute! He's still cute, but I guess all that exercise moving around has gotten rid of his baby fat. Well, Tim and I kind of have the bug again for house hunting. We had stopped for a while and hadn't been looking at any, but recently we find ourselves glued to the computer looking at all the real estate websites. Well, we will just have to pray and if it's the Lord's will, we will find the perfect house for our family. We figure if we're going to have another baby someday, we will need to move anyways. So, as long as we're not in a hurry, if we find the right house, we might as well go for it. Our house has been great for us and we really love it, but I don't think it's a house that we can grow old in. 3/17/07 CONGRATULATIONS TO NICK AND JENNY CORDRAY ON THE BIRTH OF THEIR DAUGHTER, BROOKLYN ROSE!!!! Every baby is truly a miracle from God! We wish you the best!
3/13/07 Beau was such a pleasant little guy today! He was a little joy to be around and soo sweet! Rebekah told me about how 2 year olds can have major hormone fluctuations (even as much as a pregnant woman!) and I think that's true! Anyways, his hormones were great today! :) Haha, we had lots of fun playing outside today and cleaning out the shed in the backyard. He loved to yell," Yuck!" everytime we picked up something dirty in the shed. He also enjoys filling Molly and Titan's water bowls with the hose. Although, once we get them filled, he always dumps all the water out.
3/10/07 Thursday night we loaded up the kids and took Titan to PetSmart. After we had gotten out of the truck, I opened up the back door to get Beau out and noticed somehow we had forgotten to put his shoes on! So, of course Beau did not want to just ride in the cart while we were in the store. So, he was running around in his socks and then Titan piddled on the floor. No biggy, I was on my way back from getting cleaner and paper towels from the "oops" station when Beau ran right through the pee on the floor. (In his socks!) Yuck! Well, we got Titan a collar and some toys and talked to a nice lady about puppy obedience classes. I think that would be a good idea for him. I want him to be a well behaved dog and not have to worry about him running away or destroying things! Beau has problems when people come over to our house. He gets all clingy and whiney and completely annoying when company comes over. He demands to be held and screams and fusses if we put him down. All our friends must think he is a terribly badly behaved boy! I don't know why he does this. Maybe because our attention is not completely on him? I don't know. Hopefully it's a phase that will pass VERY soon! Spanking him during times like that doesn't really help either. He just screams louder. I swear he has a bottom made of steel because spankings don't even phase him anymore. I have been starting "time-outs". I know, I sound like I've been reading too many parenting books, but really it's the only thing that seems to work right now. I put him in his room and let him calm down for a few minutes and then he seems to be much better. The Lord knew what he was talking about when he wrote in the Bible about "training up a child" It really is training and it's alot of work! So many times I find myself too tired to argue with him and sick of telling him "no". And he's only 2! It is amazing that a 2 year old can have such power! Pray that we will be strong and loving parents and give him the guidence and boundaries that he needs! I so want him to be a well behaved boy and have wonderful manners. At times he can be so willful and hard headed and stubborn! Of course, just when I think I must be doing a terrible job as a mother and can't take any more fussing, he comes up to me and gives me a kiss and says "love you". Oh this little guy has us wrapped around his little finger! We love him sooooo much and want only the best for his future. Judson is still a sweet little pumpkin! I think he is going to be our "softy". He seems so tenderhearted. Although, only time will tell. For now I am enjoying his sweet and happy personality. 3/06/07 Beau can't get enough of the outdoors! I wouldn't doubt it if he ended up being some kind of nature guy or forest ranger! He loves to be outside! He gets sooo excited when I tell him to get his coat and shoes on so we can go out. Titan and Molly love to play with him out there too. Titan is fitting in well. He's been such a good puppy! His favorite spot to be is on his blanket right outside the back door. We tuck him in every night under his blanket out there and he sleeps all night right there. It's so cute, he's all covered up except for his face peeking out from the blanket. We had Marlie come over and watch the boys for us today while we went to the funeral for the baby boy from our church. Marlie got Beau to fall asleep on her! I couldn't believe it! He would never ever do that for me or Tim. Judson is so close to crawling. He rocks back and forth and brings one knee up like he's gonna take off. Any day now and I will be chasing him around too. He's such a sweetheart, I can't kiss those cheeks enough. 3/04/07 So, I know you're thinking, "what were they thinking!" Yeah, so are we! No, we're a little crazy but how can you say no to that sweet puppy face? Here's how family member number 6 made his way into our house! Tim, was at work Friday and saw a cute Weimeraner dog and mentioned to me how cute he was when he came home that night. Then he started looking at pictures of them on the internet. Then I said, "I wonder if there's any here in Knoxville?" Next thing we know, we're driving out to someone's house this afternoon to "look" at the puppies. Yeah, we should've known that you never just go "look" at puppies! Well, the rest is history and now we have a new puppy named Titan! He's such a sweetheart and so precious! He will be an outside dog only! Once in a while I MIGHT let him in the kitchen, but other than that he will be an outside dog. I know Tim will be sneeking him inside while I am out running errands though! Oh well, just wanted to post some pictures of him for you. p.s I finally caught up on updating the pictures on here! Tim and I left for the cruise right after Beau's birthday party so I never got them on here until now. I have some cute ones of the boys playing outside that I took a couple days ago that I'll try to put on here in a day or two. 3/03/07 Our hearts break tonight for a couple in our church. Their names are David and Stacy. They had a sweet baby boy who was born at 24 weeks due to complications with her pregnancy. He lived for about 5 or 6 days and this evening he passed away. His name was Dylan. I hope they don't mind me putting this on our website but I thought I'd ask you all to pray for them. We know the indescribable pain of losing a child and we also know the grace that God can give them during this time. I was visiting Belle's grave today and I was praying for their family while I was there. I hoped and prayed that they wouldn't have to endure such heartache, but we know Dylan is very much alive and does not have to struggle anymore. I bet he's being kissed and held by Jesus and the angels now. Please remember them in your prayers 2/27/07 Well we are back from our cruise! Cozumel was soooo beautiful! I wanted to stay! The only reason I was looking forward to coming back home was to see our babies! Beau kept giving me big hugs and squeezing my neck and saying, "Hi!". It was too sweet. Judson didn't forget how to nurse. He wants to nurse all the time now. Too bad it's going to take a little while to get enough milk back for him. It's nice being able to give him a bottle every now and then though. He's still mommy's boy! The ocean was gorgeous! The water was soo blue in Cozumel. We had so much fun just spending time together as husband and wife and not just as mommy and daddy! We love our children but our first priority is each other. That's something that I have to work on when we're at home with the kids. They take up so much time and energy and sometimes it's easy to forget the one you love the most. It took me a while to realize we could just get up and go wherever we wanted whenever we wanted. Every time we got out of the car on our way there and back I had to remember that we didn't have to get the kids and diaper bags out too. I think it was so good for us to get away together. We have decided we want to do some kind of trip like this once a year if possible! We couldn't thank Gramee (and Grampee!) enough for watching the boys for us! There is no way we could pay them what they deserved for that! Well, I have to run, I'm in the real world again and babies are calling! I will try to get Beau's birthday pictures on here soon too. 2/15/07 I hope everyone had a fabulous Valentine's Day! Ok, ladies, I just have to take a minute to brag on my husband! Yesterday, he came home with 2 huge freshly cut steaks, baked potatoes, fresh bread, strawberries, cake, and icecream. He made dinner and dessert and it was so good! Did I mention that I had already gotten 2 dozen assorted roses and chocolates? The funny thing was, when the roses arrived they were a little sad looking so he called and they sent out 3 more dozen! Now I have 5 dozen beautiful roses all over the house. There is nothing as beautiful as fresh colorful roses! Also, while I was at church last night, (he stayed home with Beau because he's sick) he cleaned the house for me! All us moms know that that's one of the most romantic things you could do for us. Especially when you have young children! Ok, I'm done bragging now... :) Hope you all are having a fabulous day eating leftover candy and chocolate! 2/09/07 10:56 pm Judson said "dada" tonight! What a little stinker! He was supposed to say mama first! Oh I bet you can imagine how happy Tim was! You know the old wives tale that says if they say "dada" first, then we're having a boy next time! Beau really enjoyed having Noah here! He never did learn how to share very well though while he was here! This morning I found them giggling so hard in his bedroom and they were both under a blanket. Hmmm... what were those silly boys up to? Us mommy's took the kids to Portrait Innovations to get their picture taken together while Nat and Noah were here. It was Thursday on Beau's birthday, and he decided that it was not a fun thing to do on his birthday! He cried the whole time. We really didn't go there with high expectations, hoping to get a really good picture. We just thought it would be a fun thing to do. It turned out pretty funny and I'm sure Beau will laugh at it someday. It was so hilarious trying to get 5 little kids to pose for a picture. Beau's newest phrase is, "I need a kiss!" Daddy taught him that. It's too cute. Tim earned major points this week! He was such a good sport with all the company we had and watching the boys for me so us girls could get out. He's such a great daddy. 2/08/07 Yay! Our Bubba is 2 years old today! Thank you everyone for the sweet birthday wishes! We are not really celebrating his birthday very much today because we're waiting for his party on the 17th. We have been telling him Happy Birthday all day and he got to open his present from Natalie and Noah Ross who have been staying with us from Ohio. They came for a little visit and we've been having lots of fun! Beau loves to play with Noah and Noah is even a little bigger than Beau! I will post some fun pictures in a couple days when our company goes home. We've been so busy here lately and even now as I'm writing this, there are kids everywhere! Beau, Noah, Carter, Judson, and Ariana! Hope everyone is well and we love you all! 2/03/07 We'd like to wish cousin Bridget a very very happy birthday today! We hope your day is as beautiful as you are! We miss and love you Bridget! Today, we spent the better half of the morning (and afternoon) putting up a chandelier in the kitchen. Tim worked hard on it and got it up and then we were so happy when it worked! The funny thing was, we couldn't turn it off! After some troubleshooting with my dad, and a few shocks and sparks later, Tim figured it out and now it turns on AND off. :) He even installed a dimmer switch for it. Now we can have mood lighting. :) I found this really neat website off ebay called www.moderndanish.com. They have some beautiful bathroom fixtures and lighting. Ok, yesterday I was putting on my makeup in our bathroom and Beau and Molly were in there with me. Molly jumped in the tub( she likes to do that) and I swear Beau said, "Oh look at Molly in the tub!" I'm not kidding! It was clear as day and Tim does not believe me. He usually never says anything more than little 2 word phrases but I'm taking this one to the grave, I know that's what he said! 1/30/07 Today we are thinking of Belle. She would be 3 years old today. So much has happened in the past 3 years. The Lord has given us 2 healthy beautiful boys! I can't imagine life without them. The other day I was at the cemetery and I met a lady who was there visiting her son's grave. He died at 16 a couple months ago. I never asked her how he died but can you imagine losing a child after 16 years? She was so sweet and she gave me a hug and was talking about how some day we'll get to see them again! I'm so excited for that day. I often wonder what Belle would look like now. Would she have her daddy's funny personality and her mommy's blue eyes? I always think she would've looked alot like Beau. I'll never forget her extra long eyelashes and her pretty dark brown hair. She was a lucky little girl to get to go straight to Heaven! The Lord must have thought she was too special to endure the pain and suffering of living here on earth. Well, I finally got some more pictures on here. They've been in my camera for a while! Pretty soon we will be celebrating Beau's 2nd birthday! We will be having his party on the 17th so Gramee and Grampee Lott can be here from PA. He is getting to be such a big boy. I can't believe how much personality he has already at almost 2! He is crazy just like his daddy! Judson is doing really well with his antibiotic. I think we've kicked the ear infection out now! We still have a couple more days to take the medicine but I think he's good as new. 1/25/07 So, what is the best age and time to start potty training? Am I already behind on this? Beau will be 2 in a couple weeks and honestly, I can't really picture him using the potty any time soon! He says the word "potty" but thats about it. We ask him if he wants to go potty on the big potty and when I sit him on there, he thinks it's funny. I don't think he knows what I'm trying to do. Should we use pull-ups? If yes, how do we explain that he should try not to go potty in them? Oh my, I am not ready for this stage! Although, it will be nice to only have to buy diapers for one baby! The other night, Tim was giving Beau a bath and when he asked him if he was ready to get out of the bath, Beau said, "No way!" I think it's because he knows that after his bath, it's time to get jammies on and brush his teeth and then it's time for bed. His nighttime routine makes it easy to put him to bed. He doesn't put up a fight because he knows it's going to happen whether he wants it to or not. We are working on a morning/daytime routine. So far it goes like this... 8:00-9:00 Beau wakes up we change him and get him dressed around 9:30 Breakfast and a Bible story 10:00-11:00 playtime while mommy takes a shower and straightens up the house somewhere around 12:00-2:00 Nap time 2:00-3:00 wake up, eat lunch, play and that is pretty much where our schedule ends and then we wait for daddy to get home!
1/22/07 11:04 pm We had a doctor's appt. set up for Judson tomorrow morning but decided we didn't want to go through one more sleepless night without knowing what was wrong with our poor Jud. So, I packed the boys up and we got in this afternoon. Turns out Judson has a pretty nasty ear infection in both ears. Poor little guy, no wonder he has just not been himself. We got an antibiotic and some ear drops and we're praying he gets better really soon! I'm a little worried about giving him this antibiotic because we had to give the same one to Beau last year and it made him sooo sick. It was terrible! I think Beau might just be allergic to it. Hopefully this will not be the case with Judson. We just want our sweet baby back!
