May 9, 2009: Happy Birthday KYLE! We love you. Things have been SO busy. We celebrated Rylin's birthday at the zoo, a weekend in Indiana for Atticus' birthday and then Jason and I were able to spend 4 days without kids in Savannah, St. Simon's Island, Georgia for one of his classmate's weddings! Thanks to Pool Papa and Grandma for coming to take care of the kids and for the painting, lawn mowing, curtain making, pillow making, spoiling, spoiling, spoiling!
The trip was fabulous! The weather could not have been any better or the company! We flew to Savannah on Thursday and met up with Shea and Mac. They took us to all the old "haunts" from their days in Savannah. The pizza was awesome, the talking and laughter even better. Shea and I are definitely the oldies (we kept saying, let's go back to the room and read:) That is what a good friend is...someone that you can just go sit with and read together and be PERFECTLY happy! On Friday, we went into Savanna and Shea and I went shopping for shoes for me for the wedding and the boys went walking around the parks and stuff. We met up for brunch at Paula' Deen's restaurant. It was great although I wasn't used to that fried food on an empty stomach (I'll spare ya'll the details!).
We then headed to St. Simon's Island and the minute we got there, we were able to see friends from West Point and sit by the pool. That night, we went to the rehearsal dinner (a low-country boil and barbecue...where has that been all my life?) The food was delicious and it was so good to see Jackson and Rachel (I hadn't met Rachel yet). What a great girl! We had tons of fun listening to stories of old school days.
Saturday. we went into the village marketplace for breakfast and a little shopping and then spent the WHOLE day sipping fru-fru cocktails by the pool! Could not have been anything better in the whole world! That afternoon was the wedding and reception...both beautiful. The Jackson's planned a SPECTULAR weekend and we are so thankful we were a part of it. We wish you the very best marraige has to offer. Sunday, we came home to a house full of finished projects and happy children. I have bedroom curtains now! They are awesome.
It has been IEP season for me and that means many, many, many late nights at work. But...I am done the 29th for the summer so can't complain too much. Jason finished a semester and immediately began another. Two nights a week and some Saturday's! We CAN NOT wait for him to be finished but are so thankful that P and G continues to offer tuition reimbursement. Many students in his classes had their companies stop the reimbursement due to the economy.
Ayden finished soccer and is almost done with preschool. Rylin is demonstrating MUCH independence lately (you can read between the lines there)!
April 13, 2009: We had a great spring break and are enjoying the last day off...too bad its a high of 46 today! I cna't wait for warmer weather. Pool Papa and Grandma came to have cake for Rylin's b-day and brought Atticus and Jackson. The kids had a great time playing together. Then, Orange Grandma came up Tuesday-Thursday of Spring Break and the kdis again had a wonderfu time. It was a big help to mommy too.
We stayed in ohio for Easter and we actually had a great time. The Easter Buuny came and then we headed to church. We had to change our plans though when we showed up and there wasn't 1 parking spot! So, we headed to breakfast, the grocery store, and then back to church for the next service.
When we got home, our neighbor was beginning to build his daughters' play set in their backyard. Ayden went out and helped him for like 2 hours! It was really cute. Ayden loves the tools and stuff and Brad is SO patient letting him help. We then hid plastic eggs all over the front yard for the kids. We had about 40 coupons hidden in different eggs, everything from: ice cream treat, sleep with mommy and daddy, to McDonald's for dinner.
Back to school tomorrow. Only 33 actual school days left!
3-29-09: I can't believe that Rylin will be 3 tomorrow! Grandma and Papa Watson are headed up today to have cake with Rylin and are bringing Atticus, Jackson, and Kyle. Should be FUN! The boys love to play together so I will take plenty of pictures. Rylin i so excited for her birthday that she will think she is a princess! Well, she is! Enjoy the new pics and video:)
3-22-2009: I promise to take more picture and try to update. First of all, congratulations to Chad and Abby...Jason and I are going to have a new niece or nephew (the first on his side) and we are VERY excited for the parents to be.
Ryin turns 3 on March 30 which is just unbelievable! Seems like just yesterday she was born. Although, if I look back at pictures from this website...it was like 36 pages of photos ago! She has grown into such a sassy little girl with so much personality. We will do cake a gifts with her on her birthday but are waiting a few weeks to do her official b-day party. It will be at the Toledo Zoo so we wanted to wait until the weather warms up a bit.
I have 2 weeks until spring break. Can't wait. No huge plans. I am going to try to touch up trim around the house and just play with the kids. We will try to hit the local parks and such. Next year, we are planning Disney for spring break so we will keep it low-key this year.
Ayden has his Kindergarten screeing on April 1! Again, so hard to believe.
Jason and I are good, just busy. He has classes on Monday nights and Saturday mornings this semester. Ayden's soccer will be Tuesday and Thursday so that is good that he won't have to miss any games.
We are staying in Ohio for Easter. Jason has class that Saturday so we jsut decided to stay the weekend so we aren't rushing around.
2-15-09: We had such a wonderful weekend in Indiana. Ayden was home Thursday and Friday sick, but that did allow us to meet Daddy in Toledo (he was gone all week and just got back Friday afternoon) to drive to Indiana. We celebrated Jackson's 3rd birthday and Ayden's b-day with families. We were able to see Michaela play a basketball game too! Thanks to both sides for all the food and fun! Saturday morning, I had a WONDERFUL facial and massage compliments of my husband even CALLING and making the appointment FOR me...very nice of him! Then, on the way back to Ohio today, he went in to get our coffee's and even surprised me with mint-meltaways:) He must like me! Rylin is now sick so we hope it doesn't last! Will post pics soon.
2-7-09: Who ever thought I would update again! Ayden had a great b-day. He celebrated with his friend's at a gymnastics party (thank you Johnson's for making the drive). The next day, Papa and Grandma Watson drove to Ohio and we went to lunch and a movie for his birthday. Then, Jason was gone a week for work so we were in survival mode! We have just been enjoying Daddy hom before his next trip (next week!).
Happy b-day this month to Lesley, Mac, Jackson, Papa, Grandma, and Tripp! Happy Anniversary Natalie and Christian. I will put a few pics from the last couple weeks. We are headed to Indiana next weekend to celebrate many b-days!
January 4, 2009: Back to school for us tomorrow! I can't believe Christmas break is over. Today, we will go to church and Funday Sunday at a local museum of Children's books illustrations. Once a month they have a day of fun for kids. This month, the theme is outer space so it should be right up Ayden's alley!
Yesterday, Jason took the kids ALL day to Cosi Columbus so I could finish painting the bathroom and get the house back in order. I hated to miss the day of fun, but I did get everything except the toy room done (that could take a day in itself). And, I got it all done completely stress free.
Jason starts class again this week as well so we are back to a regular schedule. Ayden turns five on the 21st so we are having his Friend party on the 17th at the local gymnastics place. It is his first friend party. We also have his KINDERGARTEN meeting Wednesday night....I can't believe it! He is growing way too fast.
Rylin is also such a big girl now. She is hilarious and sweet and also doesn't put up with anything from anyone! What a blessed life we lead. Hoping 2009 is wonderful for all!
12-29: We had such a wonderful Christmas. We went to Indiana and celebrated with both sides of our families. The kids had an amzing time. The cousins are big enough to play now so it is really cute to watch. Santa visited our house and spoiled the kids rotten! We were blessed to have the grandparents here to see! Pictures to come!
People ask us "Why do you mis Germany...check out the picture that shows an ordinary summer day in the town near where we lived (where we shopped and spent many weekends)...you'll see why! (Thanks Sue K...I stole your pic...hope you don't mind!)
12/11: For my birthday, Jasno took me to an authentic German restaurant in Ann Arbor and we enjoyed schnitzel and delicious apfel strudel with ice cream (it was just as I remembered)! We then went to see Handel's Messiah. We had a wonderful time and thanks Brad and Toni for watching the kids.
I am slowly working on Christmas cards and am mailing them as I get them addressed. Please be patient...they are coming:)
December 9, 2008 Merry Christmas!
November 30, 2008: I have a tons of pictures to upload and just haven't had time to do it. Last weekend, Jason's dad made a trip to Ohio and stayed for the weekend. We celebrated Jason's birthday with a yummy trip to Outback. The kids really enjoyed Grandpa's willingness to read the SAME story as many times as they wanted (which was like 100)!
For Thanksgiving, we headed to Indiana. Papa was sick so had to stay in bed and looked miserable. Please pray for his swift recovery. Thanksgiving was held at Uncle Dave's house. They had a nerf gun that Ayden loved and Rylin loved sitting at the dual computer monitor with headphones on and pretending to be a doctor. Both kids had a great time. Pool Grandma even made Papa's famous green beans and they were great!
The next day, Jason took Ayden on the annual pheasant hunting trip (I was very worried but Uncle Tom assured me he would be safe). Ayden kept saying his job was to "bring home the meat". He ended up having an absolutely amazing time. He talked about every detail all weekend. He wasn't scared and acted like a big boy. Jason said he had to carry him on his shoulders quite a bit when Ayden got tired but no big deal there. He was able to describe Brandy's job to the letter (the dog).
Jen and I awoke at 2:30 on Friday for our annual Black Friday trip. Grandma stayed with Rylin this year since Papa was still sick. Michelle is sunning herself in Florida so it was just Jen and I. We were at Kohl's at 4, Toys R us at 5:30, Target at 7:30, the mall at 9ish, and Hacienda for fuel at 10:30. Then we went home with a minivan full of presents and took a nap! Then at 3:00, Jason woke me up and Ayden shared his love of the hunting. We went to Jason's Uncle Bob's for their Thanksgiving, then went out to Hacienda with Mindy, Steve M. Amber, Jake, and his fiance Liz. It was my first chance to meet Liz and she is just wonderful! We don't get to see those friends very often.
Saturday, my mom and I baked cookies, Mindy and her mom came to visit and see the kiddos) and then we left around 1:30 to get back to Ohio. I'll post pictures soon.
AND...I also started being a representative for Usborne books. I sent some of you emails (those that I know like books for kids). I won't send you out any more emails unless you let me know you would like to know when the good sales are. They are my FAVORITE books. I have been buying them for years and we continually read them! My very favorite is the Christmas Advent Nativity book. It is wonderful and makes for an excellent holiday tradition. My website is
www.ubah.com/Z2504. Check it out and you'll fall in love with the books. EXCELLENT quality and excellent stories. You can host a party (email or book) and earn free books or can just order on my website. I am not a salesperson, dislike "parties" so for me to do this...they are great!
Jason also got the nicest email from my Uncle for his book...made me cry...thank you Uncle John!
10-31-2008: Happy Halloween from a home filled with more candy than any family could possibly need. Hope you and yours had a marvelous time trick or treating!
