STORIES

12-24-07  Caleb is very excited to have Santa come to his house!  We went and sat on his lap last weekend and Caleb just walked right up to him and let him know what he wanted.  Such a big boy.  There was no acting shy or anything.  He had a mission and he completed it!  Oh, he is going to be so much fun this year!  I can hardly wait for Christmas morning!  He is just going to freak!  We wrapped everything this year, so he will lots to unwrap.  After Christams is over he spends the next day with Daddy and then he is off to Colorado to visit Pee-paw (who he calls something new now?), Gramma and Uncle Drain (Dwayne) and (Almost)Aunt Stephanie'.  Dwayne and Steph are flying in from Paris today.  Dwayne loves Caleb and they will be happy to see eachother.  I really don't know what Eric and I are going to do for 4 days without Caleb.  Eric assures me that we will be fine.  He has no idea...

Happy Halloween!

11-14-07

Caleb had a great halloween this year! He was Superman.  Long gone are the days of dressing up in cutsie little elephants, puppies and carebears outfits.  Eric just isn't having it!  So, this year it was Superman.  He loved it!  We went to the festival at school/church and he got to ride a horse(the kid isn't afraid of anything) and play some games. He liked trick-or-treating too.  Of course, we only made it to Uncle Boyd's house and Herb and Josie's (the neighbor's).  Josie made sure his bucket was full though!  This Thursday he has a Thanksgiving play his class is doing.  His first performance!  I am so excited!  Other than that things are just rolling along.  I can't believe that he is 3 1/2 already!  Time is just flying by!

06-04-07

Today was Caleb's first day of school!  Eric and I took him and the minute he stepped into the classroom he was GONE!  Eric told him that we were leaving (because I couldn't see through my tears) and Caleb was fine.  I called this afternoon to check on him and the lady said that the whole class was napping.  She said that he had a good morning and was playing well.  I'm curious to see how he is going to react when Eric picks him up this afternoon.  I'm thinking he probably won't want to go home!

04-01-07    We are well on our way to being potty trained!  Caleb went poo-poo on the potty all by himself tonight! He's has been running around here half naked all weekend and just going to the bathroom by himself when he got the urge but tonight he went poop on the big boy potty!  He his growing up so fast.  We also got Caleb's acceptance letter in the mail this week for the private Christian school.  He has to be potty trained to be in that class so it looks like we are going to make it!!  Yea for Caleb!!!!

2/27/07

Nicki and I took Camryn and Caleb to the zoo today!  We had so much fun!  Cammie really liked the otters and the petting zoo.  Caleb really liked the gorillas.  They were both in real good moods while we were there.  Caleb was ready for a nap by the end of it though.  Actually, they both fell asleep in the car on the way home.  I don't know about Nicki but I came home and took a nap too!

6/16/06

Caleb had his 2 year check-up today.  He weighed 35 lbs and 4 oz and was 36 3/4 inches tall!!!  He is 3 feet tall!!  Can you believe this amazon child?  She said that he was obviously healthy.  We don't have to go back until next year!  He also got his Hepatitis C shot and cried for about a 1/2 a second.  He was very good  at the doctor's office!

6/11/06

Caleb had his official 2nd birthday party!  He had such a good time and Bubbie and Daddy did such a good job!  He played outside with Bo and Jenae ALL DAY in the 90 degree weather and only stopped to eat.  He was especially excited when he found his brand new tractor! Now the only problem will be getting him off of it.

May 6th - 16th 2006

Caleb went on vacation to see his Grammie and Grandpa, Great-grandma Shirley and Great-Grandpa Ronnie, Auntie Kaeleen, Uncle Bryan, Uncle Jeff, and Uncle Matt, Great Auntie Me-Me, and his cousins Tracie, Travis, Jacob, and Justin in Colorado!  He had such a good time playing with all the farm animals and riding the tractor and the quad with Grandpa Ronnie.  He really liked that he felw on an airplane!  In fact, he still will look at hthe sky and tell the plane to 'Hum-ere!"  If it was only that easy!

12/28/05    Caleb had a wonderful and blessed Christmas and we hope that you all did as well! I think that Caleb has finally recovered from Christmas.  It was a big day for Caleb.  He woke up about 6:15 wanting to go upstairs and play with his "choo-choo"(he had found the train earlier in the week!).  He was so surprised to discover ALL those other toys!  His face was just priceless.  It was a look of confusion then surprise, awe, and glee.  So precious!  Luckily, I got it all on video! He got lots of trucks and cars and buses. His favorite is still the choo-choo that sits on his new wooden table and chair set that Momo got him.  He looks like such a big boy sitting in that little chair playing with that train.  He's getting too big!

12/14/05- Caleb went to the doctor's today for his 18 month check-up and his DPT shot.  He did really well with the shot and only cried for a second.  He even told his nurse 'Bye-Bye' before we left.  Below are Caleb's stats:

Sex = boy
Age = 18 Months
Length = 35.0 inches
Weight = 29.75 pounds
Head circumference = 47.5 inches
Which means:
Length = above the 100th percentile
Weight = between 75th and 90th percentile
Head Circumference = above the 100th percentile

11-02-05

Sorry it's been so long since we've updated.  Our computer has been down, but we are back up now!  As you can see, Caleb was a CareBear for Halloween.  He loved it! (Even if Daddy and Uncle Jeff didn't!)  He may hate it in later years but this year he LOVED it!  He thought it was so cute.  He had to kiss himself in the mirror.  So, thank you Grammie for our Halloween costume!  It was an excellent choice!

9/7/05

Caleb is getting so big!  It is such blessing to watch him develop and grow.  He is a very independant and stubborn little person. Oh and is he quick to let you know when you have a conflict of interests.  He is a funny guy!  He has some new words as of late...bird, eye, juice, woof-woof, num-num, book, cup, Abbey, and he is just trying to say light.  He loves outside and his trucks.  Oh he LOVES his trucks!  He likes to take them and slide them down his slide.  He just giggles!

8/3/05   Well, Caleb had his first big boy boo-boo July 23rd.  He and Haley were running on the concrete and he tripped and fell on his face.  He was a trooper, though.  He cried for a second and then he was back at it again!  Daddy was proud of him! It's all better now...just a little pink mark above his eyebrow.  Caleb's been busy this summer.  It seems like there is always something to do or somewhere to go.  When we are home he would prefer to stay in the living room and play with his trucks and cars, unless you open the front door!  Then it MUST be time to go outside!  His favorite!!!  He loves to play with his wagon and his 4-wheeler.  He is a busy boy.  Go-go-go!

06/27/05  Caleb had his year check-up today.  He weighed 26 lbs. and 11 oz. (89%), his height was 32 3/4 in. (98%), and his head circumference was 45 3/4 (55%).   What a big boy!   He got two shots today.  One in each thigh.  He was NOT happy about that!  Thankfully, he usually does pretty good with the immunizations and he won't fall ill.  In any case, he'll be with Grandma Pat tomorrow so she'll give him some extra TLC!  He got the chickenpox immunization (mercury-free, Mom) so Dr. Nakos said in about two weeks we may see 5-10 chickenpox appear.. but that's it...no worries!  Oh yeah, pray for cousin Haley, please.  She ran into a wall a church and split her little forehead open.  She had to go to the emergency room and everything!

06/05/05   We made it!!  Caleb is offically one!  I can't believe it.  Sometimes it feels like forever ago and sometimes it feels like yesterday.  He is such a blessing to everyone.  His little smile can just wash away the worst of days.  To date Caleb has 12 teeth (he just cut his bottom baby molars), is walking EVERYWHERE,  says a whole bunch...we just have trouble deciphering it, and his favorite word is still Dada.  No stats yet on how much he weighs or anything.  He goes to the doctor June 27th for all that and more!

5/28/05  Birthday party...Round 1...We survived!!! We had an early birthday party for him because Granma & Pee-paw are moving to Colorado this week and won't be here for his actual birthday.  Caleb thought he was big stuff because he had his very own birhtday cake!  What a mess he made with that!  Naturally, he had a captive audience and needed to put on a show though.  Mommy AND Daddy had to bathe Caleb right after he was done.  It was everywhere! All over us, too!  Since this was the pre-birthday party maybe we will have it down pat next week!?

  5/26/05 I am not winning any Mommy points this week!  My poor negelected baby!!  Caleb has been trying forever to get his eye teeth in with no luck.  So, last night I asked Eric to hold him down while I looked in his mouth.  Bless his heart...his eye teeth still aren't through but one of his one year molars are through and on the other side is a blood blister under the gum where the other will soon be!  Mind you, Caleb has been ornery for the past week and a half and HELLO MOMMY, duh!  I can't imagine having to cut teeth with no pain relief!  My poor baby.  Needless to say Caleb will have his fair share of tylenol until this other one comes through.

5/20/05  Caleb has one speed...GO...all the time!  The boy never stops!  Now that he's fluent in the skill of walking we never get a moments peace. ( I'm sure this is what my mother was speaking of when she said "I hope you have kids just like you one day." Thanks Mom!)  He finally got into the dogs water bowl.  Grandmother was happy about that.  I think Caleb's favorite thing in the world is to go bye-bye.  He gets so excited and waves and says buh-bye!  He's so funny!  He isn't saying a whole lot...that we can comprehend.  He just babbles away though!  The other night we were at the dinner table and Eric said 'thank you' and we swear it sounded like Caleb repeated him.  Of course he only said it once.  Crazy kid!  In addition to all of these other milestones Caleb has also learned how to open doors!  Yes, he can reach the door knob and turn it! Luckily, we already have chains on all of the doors so now it's just the remembering to chain them that we have to worry about!

5/08/05  HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!  Caleb's very own present to Mommy was drinking out of a straw all by himself...for the first time ever!  What a big boy!  He and Daddy made Mother's day great for Mommy!
