JANUARY 2009 Where has the
month gone?
We celebrated New Year's with friends playing games at the house and lighting off fireworks much to the displeasure of all the neighbors. We hosted a New Years day brunch with more friends to continue the celebrations.
Brynne celebrated her first New Years by staying awake with everyone. She quickly fell asleep not long after 12:01. To date
Brynne maintains her sweet, calm and happy go lucky disposition. She enjoys a good cuddle, still sleeps 10-12 hours a night. And whatever we do, wherever we go she's just happy to be there. Let me tell you... I L-O-V-E this baby and everything about her! She's talking gibberish with a few mom & dad's mixed in, has a great laugh and the warmest smile I've ever seen. She's eatting real food these days and is done with mom. It's a bitter sweet and sad milestone for me as mom and I'm trying to get over it. Her favorite foods are fruits (banana's, apples, blueberries, grapes) and ceral/cheerio's the nomal stuff an 8 month old enjoys. For a treat I've shared a few bites of Mexican (rice, meat) and she smacks her lips, gets excited and pounds for more. Can't blame her there. She's happiest when in the mix and middle of what ever jack and brooke are doing. Brynne is becoming the dare devil of the family and is fearless. She's crawling all over the house, pulling herself up, into and on everything that is Jack's or Brooke's. I think Jack is use to his stuff being messed with by Brooke so he doesn't put up a fuss. Brooke on the other hand has a different opinion about sharing her toys.
Brooke's celebrating her 2nd Birthday and is telling everyone BIG PARTY because she's 5. Her vocabulary is vast, complex and very descriptive. She now puts together multi word sentences and takes a great deal of time to tell you a story. Don't rush her or cut her off early. Her favortie toys (things to play with) are her Elmo kitchen, talking on her phone, anything with her baby/dolls and getting dressed up in her high heels with fuzzy's on them. You can hear her clip-clop all through the house.
Jack is doing great in school. We have parent teacher confence next month. He's able to spell out words (letter recgonition) and put sounds together. We are working on 3-4 letter words. Jack's favorties to spell are mom, dad, dog, stop, hot, brooke & brynne.
We interviewing St. Bonaventure school this Sunday and will be making that crutial kindergarten decision soon... how broke will sending him to private school make us vs. walk to the great, free public school. Jack is signed up for his first season to play Tball. His team is the LSU purple & gold lions. We are excited to see how this sport goes for all of us and will update you about the season.
We've taken our first trip to Disneyland as a family of 5. It was a great fun filled day. Brynne's first ride like Jack & Brooke's was Pirates of the Carribean.
Aunt Cindi & Uncle Colin took Jack & Brooke for a day of fun to visit the snow.
We had cabin fever at Tutu's and decided to take a day trip to the living desert. Kind of a zoo for desert creatures big and small. It's divided into continents with deserts from North, central & south America to far off Africa. It was a hot (85*+) but fun filled day.
Extended family news... James & Shelly are officially past due with baby #2. He will be kicked out of casa de mama on February 3rd if he doesn't arrive by then. Other news - Jeff & Andrea announced they are newly pregnant with their first child. Baby C (no name, unknown if it's pink or blue) will arrive in September.
