December 2008
Brynne was baptism on December 11th at St. Bonaventure Church. Her Godparents, Allison Clewett & Josh Baker are official and accepted their new titles.
We took a family day and went to Knott's Berry Farm with Cousin Lara and her boyfriend Albert (aka the prince), grandma Betty, James, very pregnant Shelly & G-man. Knotts was decorated for Christmas and helped get us into the holiday spirit. Brooke got to ride several amusement park rides for her first time and Jack rode many adult rides because he's taller than the 48" height requirement. Some rides were a hit, some were a miss. November 2008 Exciting stuff... Began the month by going to vote. This is the first presidential election in Brooke & Brynne's lives. While our candident did not win, we are excited, hopeful and optimistic about change for our country. John's coaching is leading Jack's soccer team the Blue Sharks to a 8-1 Season. Love Jack but soccer isn't his sport. He seems to have fun and enjoy the play time with other kids but really is not agressive or competitive. We've gone as a family to a few football games for Mater Dei High School (John's alumn). One game we watched them beat Servite and continue a 20 year winning streak. We attended the homecoming festivities where Jack loved watching the game, Brooke was into cheering with the cheer leaders and Brynne was happy just to be there. Mom & Dad took the girls on their first trip to the Long Beach Aquarium. Brooke's favorite was watching the seals and Brynne seemed happy just looking around. Jack is doing really well at Patti's Preschool. Weekly reports are showing great growth and improvement in his learning. Always a good thing. He is praticing for their Holiday show (December 3rd) and I think from all the singing he's been doing they will sing Jingle Bells. Both Jack & Brooke are quick to point out anything Santa related and remind us that 'Santa' is coming. With great saddness I share the loss of my grandma Harris. She was going to be 93 on Brooke's birthday January 30th. The loss has been greatest on dad/grandpa Jay. Life is short and one is never ready to say good bye to the ones we love. Take a moment today to say I love you, show your love and do something kind. Enjoy the day. October 2008
Celebrated Halloween by visiting the pumpkin patch, went trick or treating downtown HB. Jack was Handy Manny (Disney cartoon), Brooke was a stylish good witch and Brynne was all smiles as always dressed in Halloween Pumpkin pj's. SEPTEMBER 2008 What a month! We took our first family of 5 vacation with tutu to Hawaii. We had almost 2 weeks of Hawaiian bliss, sunshine, swimming and great dinners made by dad. The kids all traveled well. Jack started 3 days a week at Patti's Preschool (the Harvard of HB preschools) this month. AUGUST 2008 Our mighty Angels baseball team is having a fantastic season and we are taking in as many games as we can. Jack is gearing up for his first season of soccer. John is going to coach his team, the Sharks. Brooke is on the go as ever - keeping up with Jack Brynne is still sweet as ever. She's now 24 inches and 12 pounds. We are looking forward to our annual Hawaiian vacation the first few days in September. Wish us luck traveling with 3 kids. JULY 2008 We are just returning from a week in La Quinta and came home with a little extra something. A cousin - 28 year old Mike from Ohio is staying with us. He's considering moving to Southern California. He's looking for work in OC and out in La Quinta. Where ever the job is... he will go. So, in the meantime we are trying to show him around town. Cousin Greyden turns the BIG 1 July 2nd. Proud parents, James & Shelly let us all know they are expecting #2 in February 2009. Jeff & Andrea returned home from their honneymoon in Costa Rica. They had a great time and are getting settled into their first home. Uncle Colin & Cindi are planning a Caribean vacation. Uncle Mitch graduated UCSD and has moved into his first "non-college" home. He's been hired at SAIC We celebrated the 4th of July by going to the parade. This is the first time in 5 years we haven't participated. Change is sad but sometimes good to watch from the sidelines. We joined the Bonillas crew (Bob, Yoyo, Rob, Steph and their kids Hailey & Jake). Our kids did fantastic as it was all their first time to watch the parade. Yoyo had balloons w/an air pump that us adults would blow up and the kids would throw into the parade marchers. It was fun. We ended the day at a friends backyard BBQ. Jack is swimming without floaties. He needs supervision but is self sufficient. Brooke is grumpy and has a constant runny nose - she's cutting 4 teeth - uggh! She pooped in the potty for the first time on 4th of July. It's a parental mile stone we celebrated. Brynne is sweet and calm as ever. I'm telling you, she's a keeper. She's outgrown newborn diapers and is now into size 1. It too is a parental milestone. Sad how fast she is growning. I know, she's only 7 weeks old but to me, she's already 7 weeks old. This baby is growing faster than the other two did. JUNE 2008 What a month we have ahead of us...Jeff & Andrea get married June 7th. Both are moving from parents home in together for the first time. James & Shelly celebrate their 1st wedding anniversary (06-07-08). Uncle Mitch graduates University California San Diego June 21 with his BS in Engineering. His graduation party is June 14th. Bridgett's Godson, Camden Clewett turns 2 on June 23. His parents, Brandon & Allison are celebrating their 30th Birthday's with a combined celebration - pool party & bbq bash June 14th. A family reunion for the Cook family (Bridgett's mom's side) is happening June 21-28 in Palm Springs. It will be the first time for Great Grandma Cook & baby Brynne to see each other along with all the extended family to meet her. Life at the Carmody home is ever adjusting. Brynne is very calm, sweet and quiet. She's a great baby, enjoys her sleep and lets mom get much needed rest, often. I'll keep her! Brynne had her 2 week check up and is 22 inches and 9lbs. 12oz. Healthy and growing. Jack also had his 4 year check up. He's 51 inches and weighs 48 pounds. He's an awesome big brother. Doting on Brynne and being very helpful around the house. He's also telling us everything Brooke is into (usually trouble). Jack's learning so much at Patti's preschool that he's moved up to the big kid (pre-K) classroom this week. Brooke is the one I worry about most. She's very head strong, stubborn, full of opinions or personality and loud. She's getting more gentle with Brynne but has a ways to go. She's all of the sudden very posessive of mom & dad but only when we are touching Jack or Brynne. Then Brooke wants to be held, hugged, kissed - basically have all the attention and eyes on her. Brooke's growing again - cut 4 molars and outgrew the 12-18 month clothes. MAY 2008 Little b, sparkle, mini brynne has finally arrived. Refusing to come out - she got kicked out of casa de momma on Saturday, May 17th. After being turned away from Hoag Wednesday, Thursday & Friday because I was a non-emergency delivery and they were full. I didn't know if there was much longer I could take being pregnant. We arrived Hoag a little after 7AM. Got examined still dialated 3 cm, hooked up to the iv of pitosin around 9AM, an epidural at 11AM and about 1:30 things began to feel wierd. It was go time... and my doctor was delivering another baby down the hall. I asked the nurse if she had caught many babies? She said yes. I said you didn't drop them? No. She realized I wasn't kidding, examed and found I was dialated to 10 and that the baby had lots of hair - don't move. My doctor got into the room about a minute later and while putting on her gown and asked me for a test push. One push and the head was out. She said ok, don't push any more. Delivery was fast, 4 pushes in all and she was here. Brynne is very calm, quiet, relaxed and easy going. A very nice addition to the family. She fusses when she has gas, needs to birp or is getting her diaper changed and that's it. She likes to sleep, a lot. As much if not more than mom does. I whisper daily to her that all parents have a favorite child and if you are a good baby (let mommy sleep) you could be our favorite. So far, it's working. Jack loves his new little sister and is more helpful than ever with Brooke & Brynne. Brooke is a bit of a brute, not sharing mom & dad and still getting use to having Brynne around. All are healthy, happy & a little tired (to be expected). We're adjusting to life as a family of 5. APRIL 2008 Our month began nwith great saddness as we celebrated the life and passing of Granny. She passed away March 31st in her home. She was 91. There was no illness or lingering health problems. A great lady full of class and spunk to the end. She will remain in our hearts forever. Jack is doing fantastic at school. Loves (identifying) letters/spelling on signs, books and everywhere we go. He's become quite the comedian telling jokes that make no sense to me but he finds very funny. He's a great help around the house and very attentitive to Brooke. Brooke has finally begun to walk. Crawling is still her main mode of transport but it is wonderful to see her taking her first steps since breaking her leg St. Pats day. With much encouragement, cheers and claps she continues to go forward but only if it is on her terms - very stubborn I mean willed child. Her vocabulary is building and knows mom, dad, Jack, dog, this, that, juice, milk, cracker, cookie, fruit, cheese, yogurt, noodles, nose, ear, tummy, eyes, mouth & toes. She eats everything in sight and is not at all picky. She's becoming a really fun kid. The house is officially ready for a new baby. Maybe it's just me? Jack has moved into his new BIG boy room. Brooke has her new BIG girl room complete with new closet built (thanks grandpa!). All the rooms have been freshly painted, new carpet installed, pictures hung, decorated, laundry is done... we are ready for baby B! To quote Godfather Brandon, "Carmody's arrive life early and spend the rest of their life being late" (Jack was 3 weeks early and Brooke was 2 weeks early). So where is little miss b? Will she come out on her own or do we have to kick her out? We will keep you all posted on her arrival. MARCH 2008 Hard to believe our Jack turned 4 this month. Seems like only yesterday we found out he was coming our way. His birthday was the best day ever for him. Bounce house, pizza, and cars cup cakes! Brooke has made family history being the first child to visit the ER on March 17th and first family member to break a bone. Actually she over achieved the record by breaking two bones her tibia & fibula (two bones between your knee cap & ankle). She has a little soft cast and is on the mend. We go back to the doctor in 2 weeks for a progress report. Mom & Dad still feel awful and are doing what we can to comfort her day by day. Baby #3 is growing BIG. She's about 4 pounds and 16 inches due in less than 45 days - YIKES! Where'd the time go? I'm really not ready for another baby and the house certainly isn't ready for her. Overall she's doing pretty good. I had another ultrasound last week. She's turned and is head down ready to make her grand entrance. Ultrasound doctor still can't make her right arm move causing him great concern and distress. I know she's moving lots and is just being difficult for the camera. We've got some great photos of her sleeping through the latest ultrasound, lounging and a few photos of her yawning & rubbing her eyes. Really amazing peeking and seeing what's really happening in there. The doctor just won't take my word that she's constantly moving so I go back in 3 weeks for another ultrasound. Easter was fun filled and very relaxing to spend the day quiet with just the family. Easter bunny left baskets for the kids. Weather has been a warm and welcome change. Feels more like summer than spring. We had an egg hunt outside in grandma Betty's front yard. FEBRUARY 2008 Our year is off to a good start. Positive and pretty exciting. Jack is so excited about turning 4. He asks daily if today is his 4th birthday because when it's your birthday, it's the best day ever! We try to explain no, it's not until next month. No reaction. Point to the calendar and show it will be a few more days. He says, two days? Ahhh, to be a kid and excited about a having a birthday. Brooke is officially an old lady. She's the BIG one! We celebrated her first birthday with a second trip to Disneyland. Another day filled with great weather, few crowds and both kids acted fantastic. We stayed all day, had such a good time I'm looking forward to going back. Baby #3 update - healthy, growning and 75 days to go! I'm excited to meet her, see her, hug her & share her. Part of me can't believe we've got to wait 75 more days and the other part of me can't believe she will be here in only 75 days. We (being mommy) is in full nesting mode. We are fixing up the house - painted what was jack's room is going to be Brooke's Big girl room. We're doing a a summer sunshine yellow with hot pink & white bedding/accents. The (ugly brown) closet/desk thing is removed, Grandpa is building a new closet organizer for Brooke this weekend. The home office is going to be relocated to the 1 car garage. Summer heat & Winter cold will modivate me to work quick while out there. The office room will become Jack's new bedroom. The closet will covert from office storage (paper & work supplies) back into a clothes closet and I will get it painted in the next 2 weeks (I hope!). He's getting a tan & blue room. Lastly, the nursery will be painted (probably pink). Furniture will be moved around so she has a fresh space that's all her own. We still do not have a name picked out for #3 so give us your suggestions. Please, no stripper names - Candy, Sparkle (grandpa's current favorite nickname) or Roxy. I'm begining to think we will just call her #3 forever. I've sorted all the hand me down clothes into bins by age/size. Seeing all the newborn baby clothes again is getting me excited and motivated to finish all the house projects. I figure it will be another month before I wash and get those put away. I want to be ready just in case she decides to arrive early like her big bro & sis did. I had another baby ultrasound last week because I'm "old" = high risk. #3 doesn't move her arms during the ultrasound. I've explained to the doctor that during the ultrasound is the only hour she isn't punching me and therefore must be tired. I sware, she moves, lots. Just not when you are looking at her. He doesn't believe me so I go back for another ultrasound in 3 weeks. I meet with the surgeon about my gall bladder Tuesday. Will update on that then. For today, I've got a gall bladder until post delivery. I'm staying positive (really just trying to not think about it). The doctor's all have me so confused - take it out, leave it in, we must do it today, no let's wait. JANUARY 2008 Happy New Year! We can't help but look back to 2007 and recall all the great first's we had and what a great year it was. We are looking forward to 2008 and all the new first's we will have. We've begun 2008 with many celebration's. The baptism of Bridgett's godson, Camden Bruce Clewett was January 12 at St. Bonaventure. Most memorable was him refusing, sorry voicing his opinion, that he did not want to go swimming alone. He wanted nothing to do with the baptism font even after getting dressed. It was a beautiful day and memorable celebration. We went to Disneyland January 21st to celebrate Brooke's 1st Birthday. We went with friends from Templeton (SLO) the Kemps (Caleb, Heather, Leo-3 and 6 week old Allie) and Heather's sister's family (Joe, Stephanie, Haley-9, Shane-7 & Katie-5). The day was perfect start to finish. This kids did awesome all day. There were no melt downs, drama or issues (not even waiting in line) from any of the kids. No small feat when going with so many different age kids and trying to hit rides, parades for all ages. We look forward to going again to Disneyland. Brooke's first Birthday was celebrated with family (mom, dad, BIG Jack, gma, granny, gpa, tutu, james, shelly & greyden, jeff & andrea, colin & cindi, and her godfather, Brandon Clewett, Allison & Cam.)Brookie's "best birthday gift" was her first kiss from Cutie Cam. Baby #3 update - healthy, growning and less than 100 days to go. Some issues for momma (gall bladder) and 2 doctors ordering me to have surgery and the surgen saying to wait until after I deliver. The mixed messages have me a bit frusterated and feeling in the wash cycle. I know it will work out so I'm staying positive. We are still having a girl and she doesn't have a name. Give us name suggestions. DECEMBER 2007 Bring on Christmas! The kids went to visit Santa. Jack asked for his first bike and that it be red. Brooke cried and cried and just wanted away from the furry, bearded man. We had formal pictures taken of the kids for the first time. They did really well and even ham'd it up a bit. I can't believe looking at the photos how big they both look and wonder how they got so big, so fast. Where did the time go?
Jack is so excited for Christmas. Everyday he asks, "Is today Christmas day? Because that is my favorite day." Routine at home is to say good morning/night to our christmas tree - we can not begin or end the day without doing so. Once it's dark and Jack can see the neighbors lights come on, he wants to drive the neighborhood to see all lights. He seems really into all the decorations. It's fun to see the world through the eyes of a child. It's a reminder to slow down and enjoy all the simple (and free) joys that make us happy if we take the time to look. Patti's
preschool (aka the Harvard of HB Preschools) had their holiday performance last night which was a hit! Short & very sweet. I don't know why but I cried. Jack was made to stand next to the teacher for the performance. It was with/on purpose I'm sure.
Everything else going on with us is the same. We are healthy, happy and enjoying whats left of 2007. Looking forward to all the great things happening in 2008 - a new baby, the wedding of Jeff & Andrea Carmody and uncle Mitch Harris' college graduation (UCSD) top our thing we are looking forward to list. NOVEMBER 2007 12th - Had our first ultrasound today. Show's we are 13 weeks pregnant with a very, very active little person. It will be a while before we find out if we are expecting pink or blue (around Christmas time). Today we got a great view of 10 fingers & 10 toes. All looks healthy. Brookie had her 9 Month check up today. Her stats are Height 29 3/4 inches = 97 percentile and Weight 19 pounds 8 oz = 50 percentile. She has cut another tooth! She's had her bottom 2 for a few months now. She broke her upper insisor about 2 weeks ago and yesterday felt the front right tooth break the gum. Before long we will have a toothy smile. She's very active and always talking. We have to keep tabs on her now as she's very busy scooting around the house. Jack is doing fantastic at Patti's Preschool (the Harvard of HB Preschool's for those not in the know). He's made great new friends. We've attended two 4 year old birthday parties for classmates in the last 2 weeks. I'm scared to see what people do for a fifth birthday or double digit celebrations. Returned from our Hawaiian Vacation. Had a wonderful time with Tutu. Our friends the Dekker's were also vacationing at the same resort - same time as we were so it was fun to play with friends away from home. Returned vacation and hit the ground running. Went for our first no kids weekend since Brooke's birth to the Bay Area. We went up with good friends, the Clewetts (also on their first kid free weekend.) Saw many of Brandon's old college haunts, visited his frat house and attended the CAL v. USC game. Had a wet but fantastic time. Everything else going on with us is the same old, same old.
OCTOBER 2007
Latest & Greatest news... we are expecting #3. Unplanned and a complete surprise. More like a shock. Should you see us acting a bit different - pregnancy is what's going on. We know it's very early on and anything can happen.
August 2007
BIG BROTHER JACK started his new school today - Patti's Preschool & Kindergarden in HB. It's the Harvard of HB preschools. I felt the pressure just walking in. Seriously, I think the school is really focused on early childhood development and will teach Jack more than daycare. Jack's growing taller and taller each day. Last measurement was April and he was 42 inches and weighed 41 pounds. He's officially potty trained! WOO-HOO!!! Would rather drink from a regular cup than use the Sponge Bob straw, spill proof cup. Swims like a fish without floaties, rings or any assistance. He's learning to dive. Jumps in (forwards & backwards), picks things (rings, toys and such) off the bottom of the pool. He has a wild imagination, vivid story telling and is a bit of a comedia. When not showing off he's very curious as to how thing work, operate and constantly asks us why. Hope he gets some of the mechanical personality his uncle Mitch has.
March 2007 The first 36 days of life with Brooke have been very loud and long for us as parents. She screams for hours on end and then sleeps for a while, cries, screams, sleeps, cries and then sleeps. Add in lots of eating and diaper changes and you get the idea. Her doctor put her on an acid reflux medicine thinking she's got heartburn & that's why she's always so upset. We will keep you posted on progress.
We had our first family of four vacation March 9-11. We flew to Arizona for Angels baseball Spring training. We got our first glimps of hope with Brooke. That she is our child. Perhaps the medicine is working? Whatever it was, we'll take it! She was the best baby while there. For the first time in her life, I can say she is/was calm. That or as her Tutu says, "she likes the finer things in life, travel, vacations and going places." Can't blame a girl for that. Jack turned 3! We celebrated like only a 3 year old can at Chuck E. Chees's with lots of pizza, games. We were joined by Greg & Abby Daniels, Uncle James & Shelly, Granny, Grandma, Grandpa, Tutu, Uncle Colin & Cindi, Uncle Jeff & Andrea, Justin, Tanya. Friday we went to the St. Bonaventure fish fry with friends Alli, Brandon & Cam (9mo.) Clewett, Josh, Kelly & Jillian (18mo.)Baker, Grandpa, Grandma. Other family news & updates... Uncle Jeff finally proposed to longtime girlfriend Andrea Chappell. A Summer 2008 wedding is being planned. James & Shelly are having a boy due July 2007. They announced his name will be Cole (Shelly's grandpa's name) Knox (Granny's maiden name & James' middle name) Carmody. Cindi & Colin are very close to buying their first home. We hope they will be in escrow by month end and close escrow by June 1st. Cindi graduates May 30th from CSULB with her B.S. Nursing (RN). Colin is doing great in his first year with the City of Long Beach, Fire.
I hope to update the site monthly with new photos stories of what's going on with us. February 2007 - She is here, she is here!!! Brooke Elizabeth arrived on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 2:52 AM. She shares her birthday with her Great Grandma Harris who turned 90. Brooke weighs 8 pounds, 2 ounces and is 20 inches long. Labor and birth went well. We checked into the hospital just after 7PM. We walked the halls until 10. I got an epidural at 10:30. By 2:30 AM it was time to push. What I thought was only a few pushes later, we had our Brooke. I learned after delivery that her heart monitor would not stay in place. Every contraction showed her without a heart beat. This caused great panic for the doctor, nurses and dad. When delivery did happen, she was born face up (face down is normal). Because she was face up I'd push, she'd crown and go back up. So, there were a few extra pushes to get her out. Lastly, her umbilical cord was wrapped round her neck giving the doctor, nurses & dad one last stress before the delivery. I guess to sum it up best... just about everything from pregnancy, labor, delivery and the first few days home with Brooke has been opposite of what I experienced having Jack. His pregnancy was a breeze. Labor was long, painful but delivery was uneventful. The first few days with Jack I felt like super woman-mom. Able to do everything and anything at a moments notice. With Brooke, pregnancy took forever. Labor was a breeze, delivery was uneventful to me. Since she's arrived, I can't seem to eat, sleep or feed her enough. I'm exhausted before my eyes open. I'm tired, hungry and restless all at the same time. I'm glad Brooke is here, healthy and seems to be a happy baby. I'm most glad to not be pregnant any more. I'm probably one of the only women around to say I'll take labor & delivery anyday, everyday, for 9 months if I had to. Anything, over pregnancy. This pregnancy was rough and I'm so glad it's over. Now we get to enjoy a beautiful baby girl. John's let me know that boy children belong to their mom's and girls belong to their dad's. Jack will always be momma's boy and Brooke will always be daddy's little girl. To say the least, Brooke has John's heart wrapped around 1 of her pinky fingers. He is totally head over heels gone in love with her. She goes from full cry to calm when he holds her, talks to her or snuggles her. Something even as mom, I can't do...yet. Still no baby. I don't think Jack gets very soon there will be another person added to our family. We ask him daily who's room the nursery is. He says, " It's Brookie's" We ask where is Brookie right now? He very cutely says, "O, she's working." I guess he's right. Latest pregnancy update... my blood work was redone to check up on my gall bladder. Everything came back normal/fine. I've been 1cm dialated, cervix is soft for a week. I've lost more weight thanks to the low fat diet I mean lifestyle modification. My blood pressure is lower than it's ever been. Except for aches & pains associated with being pregnant, I feel good. We have a small family pool going as to which day the baby will arrive. John says it will be any day he has a tee time. Grandpa's requested I hold out for Jan 30 because it's his mother's 90th birthday. Tutu's requested February 4 because it's her (deceased) fathers birthday. I want today so I can finally see and meet Brooke. If I were betting in Vegas, I'd put money on her coming Super Bowl Sunday which is February 4th. We plan on attending the Casa de Clewett 2nd annual Super Bowl Party and dip off competition. I know that the busier we are, more pre-set plans we make, the more likely she will come. I'm doing everything I can to get her to arrive. I'm working like a crazy woman because I know I'll be taking a week off when she arrives. I'm walking, cleaning, cooking, organizing, trying to prep and get as much done for the next week or two. I've even tried showing her all the pink clothes, shoes, hats and outfits she has waiting for her. I'm offering her jewlery, a Summer in Paris after graduation, her first car, extending curfew promising her everything and anything to come out. Nothing is working. We will update you when it's "go time" and of course, when she arrives. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! The Christmas holiday came and went as sort of a blur again this year. We took a very chilly boat ride through Huntington Harbor to look at all the holiday lights. Jack seemed more interested in playing with the other kids on the boat than looking at the lights. Maybe next year. This was the first Christmas I think Jack "got it". He was very into seeing houses decorated in lights, woke up and would run to see his tree and towards the end, became excited about the arrival of santa. He liked getting presents this year. The hits were anything to do with the Disney movie Cars (his current favorite), tools/tool box, and he got his first set of lincoln logs. I got to re-learn the valuable lesson; a child is just as happy to play in & with the box of a toy than the actual toy. Pregnancy news everything is fine. Still haven't gained any weight thanks to the low fat diet modifications. Blood pressure is actually lower and I am still measuring ahead = Could mean she's coming early. FINE BY ME!!! Christmas eve I got that tickle in the back of the throat and just figured I was doing too much, too fast and was run down from the day. By Christmas afternoon my head was pounding, sinus' were a mess and I watched the clock until Dec.26 when I could go to the doctors. Turns out I had bronchitis and a major sinus infection. I was put on bedrest (again) from Dec.26 - Jan. 2. I've been on anti-biotics since the 26th, re-visited the doctor, increased the Rx and am still not 100% better. Minus the headcold & congestion, I am feeling better about the pregnancy knowing it's less than 30 days from being over. My aches & pains (hips to heartburn, lack of breath) have subsided for a few days now putting me in better spirits. Despite the grandparents wishes for more grandkids... I think we will let our sibblings take over for a while. We received some G-R-E-A-T hand me downs from The Jacobi's & The Baker's that stocked Brooke's closet for months to come. I've been organizing and putting stuff away for a couple of days. Seeing all those little pink clothes is something that gets me excited about her arrival. Her bag is packed for the hospital. John got down a suitcase for me. We've got the 911 grandparent system in place for when I do go into labor to help us, take care of Jack, the dogs, house, etc. One of the many benefits of living a mile from all your family. All in all, we are excited for her arrival and can't wait to meet her and finally see her.
