5/29/08- I went to get my GA driver's license today. The boys were pretty good and I was glad to get that taken care of before little girl comes.
Daniel is actually showing signs of potty training, but I don't know how we can start that with a baby coming. He's been telling us when he has to go #1, but he hasn't figured out #2 yet. We'll take him when he asks to go, or says he needs to go, but I'm not putting the training pants on yet.
The boys are getting really excited about their new baby sister. She's almost here!
5/27/08- We had a good weekend! We enjoyed the pool, celebrating Caleb's birthday, relaxing, and having a nice picnic with Grandma Medvedik, Jeanne & Tim, Robin, and David. Mommy enjoyed just laying around and resting most of all- can't believe baby sister is almost here!
5/24/08- Well, the boys weren't up at the crack of dawn...but, they were up early! They actually helped themselves to cereal and milk, so that was nice!
We got our stuff packed in the car to take Jackson back home on our way up to Nana and Papa's. It's Memorial Day weekend and we are looking forward to just relaxing and swimming in the pool!
5/23/08- Well, it's the last day of school today. Lots of mixed feelings! Caleb hugged and told all the teachers goodbye and I held it together the whole morning until one of the 2nd grade teachers came down to the music room with tears in her eyes, to say goodbye. That did it! I was a wreck from that point on, because I knew that I had to say goodbye to everyone before I left. It was hard, but I knew we had lots of exciting things to look forward to in the new chapter of our life. And we're only a few weeks away from having our sweet baby girl!!!
Caleb's friend, Jackson, came home with us. We stopped at a McDonald's on the way home and the boys all played. Then, we went home and the kids took naps while I got things ready for Caleb's little party that we had in the evening. We kept it small and simple and the kids had fun playing outside. Jackson spent the night and that actually went great!
5/22/08- Happy 5th Birthday, Caleb!!! I can't believe my oldest boy is 5 YEARS OLD already!!!!
Caleb wanted to go to the Tennessee Aquarium on his birthday, so I went ahead and got a membership, because it will be nice to go throughout the year with the kids, and easy with the baby. We had lots of fun & got to go through the new building, which we hadn't done before.
We went to CiCi's Pizza for lunch, and then took Caleb to pick out a new bike with the birthday money that Grandpa Collins sent. He spent a lot of time trying out bikes to see which one he felt most comfortable with. He finally decided on a blue & green Hot Wheels bike that has a water bottle attached to it. He was so cute walking it up to the cash register and telling everyone "it's my birthday today and I'm 5, and I'm getting a new bike!"
5/21/08- Today was the last full day of school, so I brought a Spiderman cupcake cake to Pre-K for Caleb's birthday. The kids were having pizza and just playing outside, so they enjoyed having the cupcakes. The red and black icing was smeared all over their faces!
4/25/08- I took off today, because the Cornbread Festival is this weekend and we were just having a staff development day at school, so Caleb didn't actually have class.
The plans today are to get the playset started and put together the boys' bunkbeds! Gigi and Papa O came over for a while to help get the ground set and level for where the playset is going to go, and to take another dead tree down. Nana and I put the bunkbeds together inside and they went together really well.
Unfortunately, our portable basketball hoop fell on the van and dented the top part above the windshield and cracked the windshield. Somebody...(um, our dearest, oldest son!) moved the concrete cement block that we had on the back of the base and the wind just knocked it right down. Thankfully, insurance it going to cover it.
The boys were excited to sleep in their new bunk beds tonight! Yay! Caleb has a bed, after 4 months of not having one!
4/24/08- Nana and Papa came down last night to be with us a few days. Papa is going to put up the playset over the weekend so the boys will have it to play on over the summer. It will be nice to have them for a few days!
4/11/08- I took the day off today, because I had a doctor's appointment, and it just wasn't worth it to drive all the way to South Pittsburg for half a day. Since I did this, I was able to paint the area where all the doors meet, just outside the kitchen. It was a small area that didn't take long to do, and I was able to use some paint that we used in the Jasper house.
The appointment went well. Baby girl has flipped! She is head down! Yay! Aaron was able to meet us at the appointment, which was nice and the boys always enjoy going.
4/9/08- Daniel has started doing the funniest thing in the van. Sometimes, if I have to stop short, I naturally go, "uh, uh, uh, uh!" I don't know why- I just do. Well, Daniel imitates me doing that, and it's HILARIOUS! Kids really do pick up on everything you do- I better watch out!
4/7/08- The boys and I started a game where pick something to count on the way to school. We did buses last week and saw over 145 buses in one week! Wow! They want to do buses again this week and beat the number that we say last week. We shall see...
4/5/08- Today, I just focused on getting the kitchen done. We got all of the boxes unpacked in the kitchen and dishes washed and put away and it makes such a difference in there. YAY! That's all I'm doing today.
The kids had fun playing outside and with the neighbors next door. Ethan and Moriah are so nice. It's great to live next door to such a great family.
4/4/08- We made it through the first week! We decided to get pizza on the way home- a nice and easy treat after a busy week...and the easiest thing for me to do! I think this pizza on Friday nights might become a regular thing. :) We watched a movie together after our pizza and had popcorn. The boys love having popcorn. I love to hear Daniel say "popcorn." He doesn't say the "c" sound, so he says, "pop-norn." It's so cute!! Daniel loves to get the bowls out while it's popping, and then "deliver" everyone's bowl to them. Such fun...
3/31/08- Today was the first day for the boys and I to drive all the way to South Pittsburg. It took us about an hour, so now we know how much time we need to allow. I had taken the day off so I could go and clean the Jasper house, but I knew it would be best to take the boys to school and then pick them up at the end of the school day.
It was really weird for the Jasper house to be so empty. I cleaned every bathroom and worked on all the hardwood floors- I was so tired by the time I had to pick up the boys. I can't believe how much has gone on during this pregnancy! Thank goodness it's all going so well.
I went to the school for a faculty meeting first, before I picked the boys, because today I was going to tell the faculty that I was moving to Georgia and would not be coming back. Well, with everything that went on through the weekend, and then cleaning the Jasper house all day, my emotions were riding high, and I just fell apart. I was a basket case during the meeting and had to have the assistant principal tell everyone that I would not be back. I am really going to miss the school and the faculty. There's just a lot of changes going on in our life- lots of exciting things. But, with new things, you have to leave behind the old.
3/29/08- Well, our night did not go as planned last night. Daniel woke up before we went to bed, throwing up everywhere. He was so sick, so that meant that packing was done for the night. I unfolded the sleeper sofa downstairs and we tried sleeping on it, but he just kept getting sick. He would cry each time and then he started saying, "belly hurts!" in this absolutely pitiful voice. It was precious and pitiful all in one! He and I maybe slept for 3 hours altogether. I lost count of how many times he threw up. I don't know what he ate or got, but he really got him.
Everyone showed up by 7:30am, and we were out of there by 9:30am! Everyone was so great and so helpful. We got everything moved in the new house and had lunch by 1:00pm! We appreciate everyone's help so much.
3/28/08- Well, it has definitely been a crazy, crazy week. We have been packing like crazy! Daniel cracked me up one day this week as I was getting some things packed in the garage. He found a winter hat in the garage and put it on his head. Then, he got his little John Deere push mower and his flip flops on and pretended to "mow." He looked so funny!
I had a doctor's appointment today and they did the 4D Scan today! I got to see her in 4D! It was so neat!!! Everything still looks great!
Tomorrow, the guys from church come to help us. I can't believe it's our last night in this house. I am very excited about moving over to the new house and I LOVE that house, but I can't help but think of all the memories we've had in the Jasper house. It has been a great house and we were able to do so many great things to it. It's where we brought the boys home from the hospital; it's where they learned to walk, go up and down stairs (they had to learn that in a tri-level home!), and just learn so many things. But, it's time to move on to a better place for our family.
3/22-3/23/08- Saturday, Grandma and Jeanne came down and we celebrated Grandma's birthday and did an egg hunt for the boys. They were so cute finding ALL of the many eggs that were in the backyard.
Sunday, the boys got all dressed up and looked so handsome. We had a great worship service and a great lunch. Daddy headed on his little trip to Kentucky, since he's Spring Break is this next week. Then, the boys and I headed home later in the afternoon and went to church in Sewanee.
Back to school tomorrow! This is our last week in the Jasper house! We move this weekend!!!!
3/17/08-3/21/08- The boys had such a great week at Nana and Papa's. They did so many things and went so many places. One day, they went down to a train museum near their house. Another day, they went and saw the movie "Horton hears a Who" in the movie theater. Another day, they did Glow Golf at the mall. They had dinner with Matt one night and spent the day at their new property, with a picnic and ATV riding! Thanks for a great week Nana and Papa!
Meanwhile, I was busy packing, having the stove and fridge delivered at the new house, and also the piano moved. I tried to get as much done as possible while the boys were out of town.
On Friday, Daddy and I headed up to Columbia to spend Easter weekend and then pick up the boys. It was great to see the boys again and we're glad they were so good and such a great time!
3/16/08- After morning services, Papa loaded up the boys to take them back home with him for our Spring Break, so I could finish packing and take care of things. They were so excited to go- I know they'll have a great week.
3/15/08- Today, Papa and I went to Lowe's to pick up the paint for baby girl's room and the new locks for all the doors. Then, we went to the house and he installed all of the locks and painted the room- it looks so good!
