1/6/08-  It's time to get busy!  We plan on getting the house on the market this week and need to get some major and minor things done.  Thankfully, we have Papa and Gigi and Papa O to help us with these things!  Thank you!!!!

1/4/08-  Today, Papa Goodall came down so he could work on a few things and also see the house that we are seriously considering.  We met Kam at the house and he went over it just trying to find something wrong.  That's what we wanted, because we couldn't find anything majorly wrong, but we knew he would.  In the end, he said it was a great house and a great deal and that we should go for it.  We made an offer and signed the papers, and waited to hear.  It was a Saturday, so it would take some time, but at least we had started the process.  With it being a foreclosure and such a great deal, we knew we had to act quickly.

1/3/08-  I had an inservice day today at school and I told the faculty and staff during the facutly meeting that I was expecting again.  They were all excited, but of course, wondered what my plans were going to be.  I wasn't ready to explain all of that, because we weren't sure what our plans were at the moment.  It all depended on this house deal and the selling of our house.  But, I wasn't ready to tell them about the possibility of us moving.  One surprise at a time...

Also, Daniel has officially been out of the crib since we came back from Nana and Papa's.  He slept in their big bed the whole visit and he didn't want to go in the crib at home, so we need to figure out what we're going to do!  I guess it's time to think about bunk beds!

1/1/08-  Happy New Year and Happy 9th Anniversary to Mommy and Daddy!  God has truly blessed us in so many ways and we are so thankful for all of his blessings.

Today, we went to the funeral of Brother Bill Holt Sr.  The boys were great and very well behaved.  I was so glad, because Aaron was a pall bearer and sat with the other pall bearers.  Caleb had made a card for Sister Holt and it was so sweet.  They had made them in Bible Class and his teacher had asked them before they made their cards, "how can we help Sister Holt?" and Caleb said, "we can help her clean and vacuum," so that's what he drew on his card:  a stick figure of him vacuuming.  The card obviously needed a bit of an explanation, but she thought it was adorable.

Daniel was so cute in the van as we were driving over to the burial.  All of the sudden, he started talking about a ball, and he'd hold up his hand and bring it down slowly and go, "fshhhhhhhh," and then clap his hands.  At first, I didn't know what he was doing, but then I realized, he was imitating the the New Year's ball dropping!!  It was adorable!!  Then, he got excited that we understood what he was doing, and then he really got into it.  So cute!

After the funeral, we went to look at 3 houses with Kam, and one of them was the one that she had e-mailed me last week.  First of all, we were blown away when we drove through the neighborhood.  The homes were so nice and the neighborhood was beautiful.  I had driven through it last year, but Aaron had not, so his first question when we drove in was, "uh, can we afford something in here?"  We got to the house, which we had already found out was a foreclosure, and just fell in love with it.  We loved everything about it.  It was in EXCELLENT condition for a foreclosure.  The only things wrong were: no oven, some door knobs on the inside were off, some of the doors were off the hinges, and there were a few scrapes in the drywall in the stairwell:  all fixable things.  The garage and the bonus room above the garage in this house were HUGE!!!  And the bonus room has these 5 little doors for storage that all connect and are finished.  The boys had a blast going through those.  Kam could not get over this house and the condition it was in.  She was in love with the view behind the house, which was of a farm and a pond and cows.  We are definitely going home and praying about this one.

12/31/07-  It's New Year's Eve!!!!!  We relaxed for the day and made sure the boys got good long naps before we went to the Watkins that night for the New Year's Eve party.  Daniel has been so cute about this whole baby thing.  I'll say, "Daniel, there's a baby in Mommy's belly," and he'll giggle and say, "no, I baby!" and then he'll lift up his shirt!  So, I'm not sure if he's saying, "no, I'm the baby," or "no, I have a baby in my belly!"  Either way, it's so funny!

We had a GREAT time at the New Year's get together with everyone from church.  The singing was great and half way through the singing, Aaron announced about us expecting kiddo #3!!  Everyone was very excited for us and surprised that I was so far along!

The boys were both still up when it was almost midnight.  Daniel wasn't too sure about the fireworks outside, but he did enjoy watching the ball drop on TV.  He was so excited as they did the count down, but then when everyone shouted "Happy New Year!" he got scared.  It was cute.

12/28/07-  Grandma and Jeanne and Tim all came down for the day and we had a nice visit.  It was fun to see their reaction when we showed them the book with the ultrasound picture.  They were all really excited.  It was neat to spend the day together and just relax.

12/27/07-  Daniel really wanted to ride on Papa's ATV, so Papa got him all strapped up and gave him a ride.  Daniel just loves riding that thing!  He is so cute, holding his hands up in the air and telling Papa, "go, go!"  Everytime Papa stopped, Daniel would hold up his finger and say, "one more, Papa!  One more!" so Papa would take him again.  He'd stop, and Daniel would do it again, "one more!"  That went on for about 15 more times!

Tonight, we went to a Chinese place for dinner that was really good.  They had a pond inside with fish and the boys just loved looking at them.  The owners were really nice and gave them some fish food to feed the fish.  They loved doing that.  After dinner, we drove around and looked at Christmas lights, which was fun.

When we got home, I checked my e-mail, and our realtor, Kam, had e-mailed me a bunch of houses.  One of them was one that I had seen on-line a few weeks before, but it was much more expensive when I looked at it.  Now, it was about $40,000 less and in our price range!!  We are definitely going to check that one out.

12/25/07-  Merry Christmas!  The boys were up and ready to go this morning, but they actually wanted breakfast first.  I guess they were really hungry.  Of course, after breakfast, they were ready to open presents.  We all had a great time and it was really neat telling Nana and Papa about the new baby that will be coming in June.  I made a book of pictures from all the Christmas' since Caleb was born, and then on the last page, I had a picture of the ultrasound and across the top: I'm due in June!!  Of course, they flipped through the whole book and missed that last page and closed it, so we had to have them open it back up and look at the end!  They were so surprised and so excited!!!!!!!!!  It was fun telling them.

The rest of the day, we just relaxed and the boys enjoyed playing with their new games and toys.  Nana got Caleb a lot of educational games to have at their house, so we got to play those and they were neat.  Daniel enjoyed playing with his little remote controlled fire engine.  He was really cute driving that all around!

12/24/07-  We headed up to Nana and Papa's and had a great dinner for Christmas Eve.  Then, had yummy cookies and eggnog before bed.  The boys stood on stools by the counter as Nana cut the cookies and arranged them on the plates.  Their eyes were huge just waiting for the cookies!  It took a little while for them to settle down for bed, but they eventually did.

We're excited that Daniel has started sleeping in a big bed at their house.  They have one of those trundle beds, and tonight he wanted to sleep in the same room with Caleb and not sleep in the crib, so we let him.  We'll see how this goes!

12/22/07-  We did our own family Christmas morning this morning at our house with the boys, which was a lot of fun.  This was just our gifts to them and we had a really nice relaxing morning.  The boys enjoyed all their stuff and it was so neat to see their faces light up.

In the afternoon, we headed over to Gigi and Papa O's for Christmas with them.  We had a great dinner/lunch, and then opened presents.  We got to tell them the news about the new baby, so that was very exciting!  We had packed the boys stuff so they could spend the night at their house, and then Aaron and I went over to the Watkins for a surprise birthday deal for McCord.  It was a great day!

12/21/07-  Today, we went looking at houses with Kam.  We found several this trip that we liked and in the area that we liked.  The last one we looked at was a foreclosure on 2 flat acres and the home was only 5 years old.  We would need to add on to it for it to work for us, but it was so cheap that we would be able to do that.  Definitely a possibility...

Tonight at dinner, we decided to tell Caleb and Daniel about the baby.  Of course, Daniel was too young to understand; he just said, "baby?"  Caleb was really excited.  We told him we needed him to keep it a secret until we told each group of people: Gigi and Papa O and Nanny, Nana and Papa and Matt, everybody at church, and school.  He's pretty good about keeping things a secret when we tell him to, so we'll see how this goes!

12/19/07-  Well, today we went to Dr. Brody's for my next check-up and I am now 14 weeks already!!  I was so surprised that we were going to find out what our baby was going to be.  Dr. Brody started doing the ultrasound, and the baby was moving around so much.  Aaron said, "wow, he's really moving around!" since we're so use to saying "he" after having 2 boys.  Then, Dr. Brody said, "yeah, you're right about one thing that you said," and he paused.  We both asked what he meant by that and he said, "about the baby moving around..."  All of the sudden, I just started saying, "Dr. Brody!  Are you kidding me?  Are you being serious?"  He kept looking and said, "I'm 95% sure that it's a ...GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!"  I couldn't believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Aaron was in shock, but excited.  I was ELATED!  I would have been so happy if it been a boy, but I was so excited about having a girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it's really been hard to keep this secret from everybody, but they'll all be finding out very soon!  As soon as we tell all of the family at Christmas...

12/13/07-  Today, I took the day off and the boys and I went to the mall to have their Christmas pictures done.  They turned out so great!!!  They both did really well.  Then we ate lunch at Chick-Fil-A, played in the play area at the mall, and then went to the Chattanooga Choo-Choo like Caleb wanted.  He's been asking to go there for weeks, so this was the special day to go.  We went up to see the Model Railroad Museum, which they loved.  Daniel was able to enjoy it more this time, since he's older.  They both saw Thomas on the track, which was neat.  I love spending these special times with you, boys!

12/9/07-  We went to the Watkins for lunch today and did Daniel's birthday, which was really nice.  He just smiled from ear to ear when we sang to him and he blew out his candles.  He made a real good mess, but looked so cute!  Happy birthday, Daniel!

12/8/07-  Today, we went to pick up Daniel at Gigi and Papa O's.  He's doing so much better and we're so glad.  Mommy and Daddy actually went out to eat and both boys stayed with Gigi and Papa O for a few hours, which was nice.  We're glad to have Daniel back home now, though!

12/7/07-  Caleb and I got out of school early today, because the South Pittsburg Football team made it to the state championship game, and they let everyone out at noon to be able to go to the game!  Caleb and I went home to watch it on TV and Daddy was able to make it home in time, too.   THEY WON!!!!!!!!  Yay!!!!  We watched the whole game, had pizza, and then waited to hear when they were about to arrive back in South Pittsburg so we could welcome them back as they walked through downtown.  One of my friends called and told us an approximate time and we headed over there to see them.  I think the whole town was there- it was so neat!!!  We are so proud of all of them and proud to be a part of this great community.

12/5/07- Oh, my sweet Daniel.  I cannot believe you turn 2 today!  You are such a bright and special spot in our lives and we love you so much!

You are such a sweet and loving little boy.  You love to give hugs and kisses and many times, you give them freely.  You are so friendly and love everyone you meet.  You love to cuddle and be held, but you are also getting very independent as you get older.  You love to climb in bed with us on Saturday mornings and just snuggle.  You tell us "I love you" by trying to sign the "I love you" sign with your hand, but it actually looks like your saying "stop in the name of love!"  That's okay, because we know what you're saying when you hold up that hand and say, "ah, luv."

You LOVE to play outside.  Everytime we get home, you go in the garage and want to get toys to play with outside.  You love balls, tricycles, and anything that moves.  You are so cute to watch.  I love watching you walk, run, and play.  Sometimes, you walk with your hands behind your back, and it is so cute!  You look just like a little version of your Daddy.

You love your "bubba."  You love to play with Caleb and as you get older and bigger, you are able to do more things with him.  You two have your moments, as all siblings do, but all in all, you two love each other and play well together.  You try to do whatever your brother is doing, even if you are not big enough.  You really look up to him and it's so cute to watch the two of you.  I love hearing you both laugh and do cute things together.  I pray you will always love each other this much.

You love to look at books and pretend they are song books.  You hold them just like song books with hand, and then wave your other arm like you're leading singing, and sing, "Ahhhh, ya, ya, ya!"  It is so cute!  You'll mumble some words before you do it, like you're announcing the song, and then all of the sudden, we hear this loud, "Ahhh, ya, ya, ya!!" and it just brings such a smile to our faces.

You are talking more and more everyday.  It's so cute to hear you speak in "code."  Sometimes, you'll say, "daday, mm, vrooom!!!"  in other words, "daddy drove away in his car!"  You have started this adorable little thing, where you ask about something, like, where daddy is, and go, "dadday?"  and I'll say, "he's at school," and you'll go, "oh," just totally understanding what we're talking about, like, "oh, that's where he is!"  You have been doing that a lot, and we're all getting a kick out of it.

There are so many cute things that you do, Daniel, and I could go on and on.  But, these are just some of the highlights of your life right now as you turn 2 years old.  We all love you and are so glad you are a part of our lives.  You are a special gift from God and we are so thankful for you!  Happy 2nd Birthday, little guy!

12/4/07-  Daniel stayed with Nana and Papa today, so she took him to the doctor.  He couldn't confirm for sure if it was truly hand, foot, mouth disease, but he thought that he should stay out of daycare just in case, and also since it was going around the daycare.

We still had his birthday party with family in the evening, because it was planned and he was fine.  He was so cute.  We did a sports theme and had a basketball cupcake cake.  He was hesitant about blowing out the candles, but with brother's help he did it.  He ate his cupcake so cute, as you can see in the pictures.  Then, when he opened his presents, he carried a present to each person in the room and then took turns going to each person and opening a present.  And he is such a neat person, when it comes to cleaning.  He'd tear a piece of paper off, and then say, "trash?" and run the trash to throw that piece away.  Aaron said, "we'll be here all night if you do that with every little piece of paper!"  We got a big trash bag and one of us just stood by him when he was opening a present, so he could throw the paper away.  He got some really cute things:  clothes, a new coat, a little xylophone, a little mini laptop for kids, one of those v-tech educational reading book things, and a little drum machine.  He loved all of his new things.  He and Caleb took turns dancing to the beats and songs on the drum machine.

After the party, he went home with Gigi and Papa O, because we think he can't go to school with this hand, foot, mouth disease, so we'll just keep him out the rest of the week.

12/3/07-  Nana and Papa came down so Papa could work on the laundry room ceiling.  We all went to Rock City's Enchanted Garden of Lights, because the SPES Chorus was performing.

Daniel had been fussy the whole day and we found out that another little boy at the daycare was diagnosed with hand, foot, mouth disease, and had about 35 sores in his mouth.  They told me the saw a sore in Daniel's mouth, so I guess he'll be out the rest of the week!  It's highly contagious.

12/1/07-  Christmas Parade day!  Pre-K rode in a float for the Christmas parade and they all had fun throwing candy.  Daniel enjoyed watching and waving and picking up candy.
