4/18/06 - Emily had a great first Easter. Gram made her a beautiful basket that she can put out every year for the Easter Bunny. She loved playing with the plastic eggs. She laughs when we roll them around on the floor. Emily's new favorite thing to do is stand at her bookshelf and pull all the books down and then sit and look at all of them.
4/2/06 - Emily is crawling quickly all over the place and standing up at anything she can pull up on. Of course she likes to crawl wherever she isn't supposed to go. She discovered where I keep the diaper bag in the kitchen and she likes to crawl over to it and pull everything out of it. She had her first pieces of banana today and she loved it.
3/22/06 - Well, it was only a day or two after Emily would be sitting in her crib that she is now standing in her crib! I guess we are going to have to lower the mattress again. Every time Emily wakes up from her nap, she is now standing in her crib shaking the rails. It is so funny. She can crawl across a room pretty quickly now and she loves to play with any doorstop she can find.
3/16/06 - I just turned seven months old and I can do so many new things. I can now get to a sitting position by myself. In fact, I surprised Mommy because when I wake up from my naps, I'm just sitting there in my crib playing with my mobile. Today Mommy had to lower my crib mattress and take down my mobile. I ate my first cheerios today. I seemed kind of confused when I had one in my mouth. I have been getting on my hands and knees for about a week now, but tonight I actually crawled a little!
2/17/06 - Yesterday Emily had her six month checkup and she weighs 18 lbs. 3 oz. and is 26 3/4 inches long. We have to start baby-proofing because Emily rolls around so much that she can get across a room in a matter of seconds!
2/13/06 - I'm six months old today! Mommy and Daddy can't believe how fast I'm growing up. I eat cereal, vegetables, and fruit now. Mom and Dad are very happy that I sleep about eleven hours at night now. We went swimming again and I loved it. I acted a little scared when I saw the water, but once I was in, I was fine. I even kicked around in the little boat.
1/31/06 - Last week Mommy and Daddy took me swimming at the indoor pool and I loved it! It helped that the water was a nice, warm 86 degrees. I actually swam on my belly and kicked around. Daddy even dunked me completely under water. I can't wait to go back!
1/24/06 - I had a very special day on January 22 because I had my baptism. I was such a good girl during church, and I didn't cry at all when the minister took me. I am so glad that so many family members could be there to celebrate with me.
After my baptism I had squash for the first time. By the look on my face, Mommy and Daddy don't think I really liked it. But I had it again the next night!
1/5/06 - I had a wonderful first Christmas. First, I had an early Christmas in Maryland with my cousins. Then we went to Pennsylvania for Christmas. I was so happy that Aunt Andrea came from San Francisco.
Yesterday I had cereal for the first time. I really opened my mouth and tried to eat it. I'm just not sure how much I actually swallowed, but it was fun!
12/17/05 - Last weekend I went to my first Christmas party and I got to sit on Santa's lap. I wasn't scared at all. Gram came to visit this weekend and she got to babysit me while Mommy and Daddy went out. Gram got to see me roll over for the first time and I smiled and laughed like crazy for her.
12/6/05 - This morning I rolled over from my back to front for the first time! I had a great first Thanksgiving. I even slept during dinner so Mommy and Daddy could eat. My favorite thing to do these days is take a bath. I kick and laugh the whole time.
11/12/05 - I will be three months old tomorrow! This past Thursday I rolled over from my front to back for the first time. I did it three times! I also slept through the night that night for the second time.
11/1/05 - I just had my first Halloween and I dressed up as a flower. Gram came to visit me, and I even went trick or treating at Grandma and Pop-Pop's. I got to see all of my cousins too!
Last week I slept through the night from 10:30pm until 8:00am! Mommy and Daddy couldn't believe it, but I haven't done it since. I usually only get up once though, so they are very happy with that.
10/19/05 - Today is Mommy and Daddy's third wedding anniversary. They took me on a nice, long walk around Centennial Park. Last week I went with Mommy to visit Gram and Grandpa in Pennsylvania. As you can see in the one picture, I got to lay in the cradle at Nana's house. That cradle was originally my great-great-great grandmother's when she was a baby!
I had a doctor's appointment this week and I weighed 12 lbs. 14 oz. and I was 23 3/8 in. long. I am now in the 90th percentile for height and weight at nine weeks old. I must take after my Daddy!
9/28/05 - September has been a big month for Emily. She had her first trip to Ocean City New Jersey. She took naps on the beach and Daddy even put her toes in the ocean. Right after the beach, we went to Gram and Grandpa's house in Pennsylvania for the first time for Uncle Brendan and Aunt Jess's wedding. Emily came to the reception and she got to dance with Daddy for the first time.
On September 26th, when Emily was just over six weeks old, she weighed 10 lbs, 14 1/2 oz. and she was 22 3/4 in long. We can't believe how fast she is growing.
Emily was a little stubborn and came eight days late, but once she decided to come, she came quickly. Mom and Dad went to the hospital at 4:30 am on August 13, and Emily was born at 11:03 am. Although we did not find out ahead of time if Emily was a boy or girl, we thought she was going to be a boy, so we were very surprised when the doctor said "It's a girl!"
