December 18th--- Emily is 1!!! It's so hard to believe our little girl is now one year old!! We had a very fun day. We had her 1 year pictures taken around 11, which as usual, she did wonderful. Then we headed out to Desin to the Build-A-Bear workshop. When we got there we had to decide which bear to make her, well Daddy picked out this cute little brown puppy and I picked out this cute cartoon looking kitty. So we made 2. :) She got to give the little heart you put in the bears a kiss,, well she drooled on it!! Then we picked out some clothes for them and named them. The doggy is Baboe (one of the first sort of words she said) and the kitty is LuLu,, a nickname I tend to call Emily some times.
After she did wonderful at Build-A-Bear we headed home. She was a little fussy in the car and Mommy had to ride in the back with her. Come to find out her one of her front teeth has actually broke through the gums and was bugging her all day, poor thing. When we got home she had a long deserved nap..........then.......... it was cake time !!!!!! We lit the candle and sung Happy Birthday to her, then mommy put the cake in front of her to let her have at it. At first she was not sure of the whole frosting thing, so I put some in her face,, then,,, watch out. She could not shovel it in fast enough. She began to take handful anfter handful of frosting. I took it away at one point to cut some for mommy and daddy and she began to cry!!!! Her little hands were shaking like she was going through withdrawl :) I tried to give her some cake then she spit it out and went to the frosting again!!
After that wore off we went to presents, She looked confused at all the presents. She opened them all and was sooo excited with all the fun noisy toys. She got the most adorable pjs from Grandma and Grandpa Berger which she wore all night and through christmas :) She also got all kinds of Tinkerbell stuff for her big girl room,,, once she is able to walk on her own we might put her big girl bed in there.
We finally put her to bed around 730 or 8 and she went right down. She was exhausted just like mommy and daddy. On the 19th she has her one year check up with vaccines and blood to be drawn for labwork..... I am going to dread that but daddy said he will be there for all of it. Thank goodness for daddy :) He will be strong,, and mommy can cry
I will update tonight with more pictures I'm sure and with how her appt went. Take care everyone and thank you for all the sweet comments I can't wait until she can read them and realize how much she is loved.. thank you all again. Love Emily's mommy and daddy.
