5-26-09  What a great Memorial Day weekend!!!  Mommy took us to the Uhrichsville water park on Saturday with Jamie, Aubrey and Zane Thomas.  What a blast!  Ella wore mommy out, she just kept going and going and going.  We had to bribe her with food to get her out of the water during the breaks.  Then we had a little bonfire at our neighbor's Sat. night.

Sunday after church we went to Brynn and Kylee's to swim. Then off to Minerva for Rowen's 2nd b-day party!  It was a fun day but we were beat by the time we got home.

Monday morning we got up and watched the Memorial day parade.  It only lasted 6 minutes, but we did get some candy :)    Then we went over to the bike trail in Bolivar with the Senter Family.  We rode 5 MILES!!!  Next, off to lunch at El Ducko's, then on to Tuscora Park!  On the way home we stopped to see Elaine and Maizey.  What a funfilled day.

Last night when we got home mom and dad really weren't sure what to do . . . no roof to shingle, no shutters or doors to put on, no mulch to do, no running club or softball game . . . so . . . off to visit Uncle Duck and Aunt Judy (did you really think we could stay at home and just relax)

WoW!! You guys are truly one busy family!!! Where do you find the energy?!
  - Debbie

12-28-08   Christmas was so much fun this year and busy as ever!   We went to church @ 7:00 on Christmas Eve.  It was supposed to be over at 8:00 but for some reason it lasted until 9:00 so we didn't get to Grandma Mary & Papa Roger's till really late.  I was ready to open all my gifts, but Ella saw the cheese tray and chips that Grandma had set out and she headed straight for the table.  She never left the food, I had to open her gifts too!  After that we went out to the Senter's to visit with Uncle Chris' family for a little bit.  Then we headed home to get ready for Santa.  I couldn't go to sleep . . . At 12:00 am mommy showed me Santa's path on the computer.  He had already been in Strasburg!!!!  I cried and cried, but mommy assured me that he would come back if I went to sleep . . . and sure enough he did!

I opened sooo many gifts and just kept looking for my Hannah Montana guitar, but gift after gift . . . no guitar!  Then mommy got mad at daddy and told him to quit teasing me.  He hid it behind the tree!  I was so excited to play it.  We took it out of th box and . . . nothing!  It wouldn't work!!!!  Mommy changed the batteries . . . it still wouldn't work.  Daddy said the reindeer played with it too much (they love Hannah Montana as much as I do).  So now, mommy has to get ahold of Santa and see if he can send a new one.  I'm not sure how that works, I thought he would be sleeping by now!

Ella came downstairs and couldn't care less about opening presents!  She wanted FOOD!!!  She would eat, then come into the  living room and look around, then go back into the kitchen for more food!  She didn't want to put forth any effort into opening her gifts.  Once again, I opened everything for her!!!  Her favorite toy is a little play cell phone that Santa put in her stocking!  she carries it everywhere.

At 10:30 we headed to Minerva for more fun!  We opened a ton of gifts again then had dinner.  In the middle of dinner the doorbell rang, who could it be????  AUNT JENNY!!!!  She came to surprise us!  After lots of tears and hugs, I was able to steal her away to play "vacation" with me!!  What a perfect Christmas present . . . we love her soooo much!

Then around 6:00 we headed back to StrasVegas for more!  The Gilkerson family came down to Grandma Mary & Papa Roger's for dinner.  We missed it, and only got to see them for a couple of minutes.   Then out to Uncle Duck and Aunt Judy's for some leftovers and a little family time!  Aunt Sue was still there and she was teaching us how to limbo and we did wheelbarrow races!  So much fun.

What a busy day . . .  but mom and dad say they wouldn't have it any other way!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

12-5-08  Well it's almost Christmas and we've been very busy shopping and decorating and shopping and shopping!!!!  We just love this time of year.  Ella is loving the snow, she just giggles and giggles as it hits her face.  It is so much fun to watch her.  I'm still keeping busy with preschool and dance.  I had a pampered chef party a couple weeks ago with all my friends.  We got to make all the food by ourselves!!!!  It was so much fun.

Daddy is still working all the time but, football is over so we do get to see him more!  Next week we are going to stay at a hotel with him for a couple days because he is working so far away.  I'm excited because we will get to swim!!!

Mommy has been sooooo busy taking pictures.  She gets to work with Santa Claus tomorrow!  He is going to be at the Lutheran Church from 10-4 to get pictures with all the kids.  Mommy doesn't seem to be as excited about it as I   am . . . what a great thing it is to work with Santa and all those little kids for 6 HOURS!!!

Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!!

9-22-08

Emma Jane:   Well, time sure is flying!  We are busier than ever with school, dance, football & indian parades!  We are having a great time staying busy and mommy will be back home with us soon.  Daycare is OK but we would much rather be with mommy.

The OX Roast parade was so much fun, we all dressed as Indians and rode on the wagon!  It was great, but I was a little upset that the Indians didn't have pink face paint, I settled for red instead.

Daddy's football games are fun too.  I don't watch the games much but, by the look of the scoreboard I'm not missing much.  Preschool has started again and I love being with all my friends.

Ella Grace:

Last Monday I had to go through all those horrible tests, just to find out that everything is just fine with me!  I knew I was perfect, I guess they just had to see for themselves.

I like being 1, I feel like such a big girl now.  I actually got on a bike yesterday and rode up and down the sidewalk.  Watch out world!!!

9-3-08

Happy b-day Ella baby!  Ella has spent the last 2 days in and out of the Dr.'s office being poked and prodded in every place imaginable.  What a way to spend your 1st b-day.  Hopefully we are now on the road to recovery (after 2 days of getting a shot in each leg, you should be on the road to something).

I just wanted to take a minute to tell my Ella that she is my perfect little angel and she has added so much to our lives.   I was just telling Micki the other day that is was a little more than 1 year ago that I remember thinking, how am I going to love a baby as much as I love Emma.  Then our Ella Bella was born.  I have loved this little angel more than life the day I laid eyes on her.  She completes this family in the most remarkable way.  The past year with her has brought us so much joy and great memories.  I sit in amazement and watch how she has changed over the year.  What is most amazing to me is the love between her and Emma.  Ella wants to be Emma, she follows her around trying to do everything that Emma does (it is just the cutest thing to watch).  I am THE LUCKIEST mommy in the world to have such wonderful and beautiful girls (and such a great husband).  HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY! -Love, Mommy

8-31-08

We had a great day yesterday for the big b-day party!  Ella was a little under the weather, but she managed to have a great time anyway. With cake and presents who wouldn't have a good time!  The 3 babies were so cute, it's hard to believe it's been a year since they were born.  Time sure does fly.

A big thanks to everyone who came to celebrate with us.  It is so great to have such wonderful families.  We love you all!

7-15-08

We just got back from a mini vacation to Cincinnati!  We went to Coney Island and to the Zoo.  I wanted to go back to the water park, but we had to come home.  I could stay in the water all day and all night if mom would let me.  There were big water slides and diving boards, and even some rides to go on after we dried off.  Ella liked the pool because she could walk around in the shallow part by herself.  She fell alot and went under, but she just thought that was sooooo much fun.  The Zoo was pretty cool too, we went to a 4-D movie and a bird show.  The bird show was crazy.  There were birds flying all around your head, we had to duck a couple times so we didn't get hit.  Daddy was afraid that they would poop on his head.  They didn't, but that would have been really funny!!!  Anyway, it's back to old StrasVegas.  I think I'm goingto go swim now!!!!!    -Emma Jane

7-9-08  BABY KYLEIGH IS HERE!!!!!!!  She was born at 7:41 weighs 6 lbs. 13 oz. and is 20 inches long.  We only got to see her for about 30 seconds last night, we waited until 10:30 but they never brought her back to her mommy and daddy.  So we just watched her through the glass in the nursery.  She was very content laying there, that is until someone would touch her.  We will get some pics on here when we get back from our visit with our new baby!!!  Hopefully we will finally get to hold her!

Emma Jane:  Happy 4th of July!!!! I am so excited for the fireworks tonight, I hope it doesn't continue to rain.  I just had a great weekend with my cousin Kyla.  She was here with her 3 brothers and her mom and dad, they all got to stay at my house!!!!  I had so much fun with her.

Two weeks ago I went to VBS, it was so much fun.  Mom wanted to put shorts on me everyday . . . I just couldn't do it . . . I love my dresses!!!  There was this one day that she wanted to put my hair in all kinds of rubber bands for crazy hair day.  I told her that I wanted to be pretty for bible school.  Mom called Micki and she talked me into having wild hair.  It was o.k. everyone else had their hair crazy too!

I almost forgot about my fun in Minerva.  I went to the homecoming parade and Hera and I each got a bag full of candy.  We never did make it to the actual homecoming because it was too busy the 1st night, then it rained the next time we went.  I did get to spend the night at Hera's house and Uncle Mike cooked us pancakes, which by the way, aren't as good as mommy's!!!

It hasn't been very nice around here, but I get in that pool every chance I get.  I ask my friend Molly over alot, because she is the only one crazy enough to get in the cold water with me!

Ella Grace:  Well, it's full speed ahead for me.  I have absolutely no use for that crawling thing anymore.  I love walking around carrying as much stuff as I can fit in my arms.  I really wore myself out last night because I slept until 6:30 this morning.  I couldn't figure out why mommy was so happy (I guess I haven't done that in a long time).   I'm still tired . . . I think I'll go take a nap with my daddy . . . yes, for those of you who don't believe it . . . He took the day off today!!!!!!    HAPPY 4TH!

6-15-08 HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DADDY!!!!

We had such a great day.  Everyone came over for a cook-out and swimming at our house.  I LOVE SWIMMING!!!  Uncle Mike, daddy, Hera & Ella swam with me.  Ella is really starting to like the water.  Mommy & Daddy put her under all the time and she just laughs!Last night we got to go out to Brynn & Kylee's pool and I stayed in that pool for 2 1/2 hours.  I didn't really want to leave but daddy threw mommy in the pool with all her clothes   on . . . she was a little upset, so we had to go home.

Ella and I got to go pick strawberries last Saturday at the Krantz Berry Patch.  It was Ella's first time and mommy wouldn't even let her taste the berries.  I supervised and daddy held Ella while mommy picked all the berries.

Ella went to the Dr. last week.  She had to get 2 shots and her finger pricked, boy did she scream!  She weighed 21.7 pounds and is 29 5/8 inches.  She sure is growing.  She's walking alot more and getting into everything.  Dad took a great video of her climbing over the toy box to get on the steps.  As soon as mommy figures out how to get it on here we will share it with all of you.  Speaking of videos, she has my dance recital, swimming, and some other good ones to get on here as well.  Keep checking back, maybe they'll come by the end of summer!

5-30-08

Emma Jane:  Boy have we been busy lately!!!  School's out for summer. I'm not sure how I feel about this, I will really miss all of my friends. I have my dance recital on Sunday, I am so excited.  I'm sure mom will take lots of pictures so you can all see my outfits!  Dad started opening the pool this weekend.  IT'S GREEN!!!  The temp is 62, but I keep begging mom to let me get in, of course you know her response, but I think I can talk Dad into it!

Ella Grace:  I have also been very busy.  I'm learning lots of new things.  I now have 5 teeth.  Great for chewing all that real food I love so much.  I took my first steps 2 weeks ago, I can't seem to get past 10 steps yet . . . but I'm getting better every day.  I have fallen down the steps, fallen into the tub, and love playing in the toilet.  Maybe mom and dad should baby proof this house.  I go to the Dr. next week, mom thinks I'm gonna weigh in at 22+ lbs.  What can I say, I'm a growing girl!!!

4-9-08  Emma Jane:   We had another great day at the park yesterday!!!  We stopped at El Ducko's for ice cream.  I switched it up a little and got cookie ice cream instead of blue moon or superman.  Mommy was happy because she can actually lick the cone if it starts dripping, for some reason she refuses to do that with my favorite flavors.  We came back home and Fro and Gracie stopped over.  We played for awhile, but our fun was cut short because I had to go to dance class (got to practice for my upcoming recital).  When we came back from dance we ate and went back outside for a little walk with daddy.  I rode my new bike!!!

Ella Grace:  I LOVE the park!!!!  I rode the swing again, got up on Noah's ark, rode the train and ate some green grass with a little mulch mixed in (not too tasty).  I was so exhausted at the end of the day that I fell asleep eating dinner!

4-8-08

Emma Jane:  I finally went back to school after being off for 2 whole weeks.  I love school and I missed all my friends.  I am so excited that the weather is finally nice enough for me to play outside.  I got this sidewalk paint for Easter that is so much fun.  I painted the bushes last night and wrote a message to daddy in the driveway.  For those of you that are close by, you need to check it out!!!  We went to the park last night . . . boy did I miss that place.  Anyway, I have to go because it is another warm day and I have to talk mommy into taking us to the park again!

Ella Grace:  Man have I been busy lately.  I started crawling the day after my 7 month birthday.  I wasn't really interested in it, but now that I figured out that it can get me around, I kinda like it.  I really wish that I could go faster.  Mom says it is a pretty funny looking crawl, but hey, I am just learning.  I haven't given up on that walking thing, I think that it is a much better mode of transportation!!!  I can pull myself up on just about anything now, although I have fallen quite a bit.  Yesterday I even tried to pull myself up against a wall . . . that's not so easy!

I'm also figuring out that mommy and daddy's food is much better than this runny stuff they give me.  These 2 teeth are good for more than just biting people.  I am NOT going back to that baby stuff, maybe they will get the hint here soon and quit shoving it in my face!!!

I was able to experience a warm day in spring this past weekend. . . if summer is anything like this, we are going to have a great time!!!  The park was so much fun.  I got to swing, ride a see-saw, and go on this thing that goes 'round and 'round.  Mommy didn't let us go very fast, maybe I can get daddy to push it faster!!!

3-26-08

Emma Jane:

Easter was so much fun!!!  Saturday I went to an Easter Egg hunt at the church.  Luke helped me look for eggs and Jordyn helped me play a Tic Tac Toe game that was really fun.  You had to run and find your pieces that were hidden around the church, then come back and stick them on the board.  When we got home, there was a knock at the door.  IT WAS THE EASTER BUNNY!!!  He came to see us a day early.  Mom took our picture but the Easter bunny and Lisa couldn't stay.  They had to go visit the Coles' family and Grandma Grace and Papa Fred.

I went to Hera's new house on the hill and we had an Easter egg hunt.  I ran really fast and got a lot more eggs than Hera.  Unfortunately Hera found all the $$$ eggs that Grandma Mary sent over.  Mom says she found them because she wasn't being greedy and taking all the eggs.  Oh well, I still got more candy!!!  After a delicious dinner at Aunt Angie's and Uncle Mike's we were off to Aunt Judy's house.  I love playing with all my cousins.  Jordyn made a game for us to play called going to Jerusalem.  It was really fun.

Saturday night we wrote a note to the Easter Bunny telling him to fill our baskets while we were in Minerva.  Daddy had to work and I didn't want to find my basket without him.  Mommy said that writing the note was a great idea, since she had to get us all ready for church by herself.  When we came home from Aunt Judy's we searched for our baskets.  I found Ella's right away and had to look a little bit for mine.  What a great day!!!

Ella Grace:

My 1st Easter was alot of fun.  I got to meet the Easter Bunny on Saturday too.  Don't tell Emma but it wasn't the real Easter Bunny . . . it was Shelley.  I thought it was great that Shelley & Lisa drove around visiting everyone in the bunny costume, but they didn't fool me.

At Aunt Angie's and Uncle Mike's, I played with my Uncle Kenny all afternoon.  I think he really likes me, I really like him too!  I got to have real sweet potatoes for lunch, they are much better than the ones mom feeds me out of the jar.

I took my first steps around the furniture yesterday.  I like getting around by myself.  As for that crawling stuff . . . . well, I really don't think it's worth my time.  Eventually I'll have to walk so why waste my time on my hands and knees!!!!

Aunt Sara's belly is starting to grow, we are getting really excited for our new  baby!

3-6-08

Ella Grace:  Well, I went to see Dr. Markle today.  She thinks that I am in perfect health.  She doesn't think I'm eating too much.  As a matter of fact, she said that I am right where I should be on my growing curve (mine must be higher than most 6 month olds)  Anyway, I weighed in at 18 pounds 12 ounces and I am 27 1/4 inches long.  She said it is time to give up that infant carrier.  Mom thinks that is great because I'm breaking her back!!!

Last time I checked in, I forgot to tell you my most important news . . . I got my first tooth!!! (2-26-08) It wasn't so bad, but I'm not so sure that I want to do it 19 more times just to have them all fall out and start over again.

3-3-08    Happy 6 month b-day to Ella Grace!!!!!!!

Emma Jane:  Man have I been busy lately.  I had 2 birthday parties on Saturday.  Mom got us lost on the way to Brynn & Kylee's party and we ended up in Portage Lakes.  She was freaking out, but I was o.k. 'cause I had Cole with me.  I love my Coley.  We were about 40 minutes late, but we still got to make our lunch (except the pizza)  What a great party!!!  Then we drove down to Alpine Alpa to meet the Senter's for a 2nd lunch.  That was fun too.  Then off to party #2.  It was for a girl in my preschool class.  I had fun.  That night I went to Micki's then to Grandma Mary's to spend the night while mommy & daddy went to the fish fry.  Daddy got home to late and mommy had fallen asleep.  Daddy came out to pick up Ella and by the time he got back home, I wanted to come home too.  Sunday we went to Grandma Debbie's while daddy was working (again).  I spent the night there.  Now today we are going shopping (mommy's favorite pastime).  Anyway, talk to you all later!!!

Ella Grace:  I have been really busy too.  Of course I have to go on all the road trips too, which is o.k. with me because I get in some good nap time.  Saturday I got to play with Jake a little bit.  We like to touch each others heads.  I wish he had more hair so I could use him to pull myself up off the ground.  I am now standing with one hand holding on, which is alot more fun. I am such a big girl and I know it!!!  Mom & Dad are still trying to get me to crawl, not gonna happen, I want to stand up!  I go to the Dr. on Thursday.  Mommy is afraid that she is going to get in trouble because I weigh so much (I'm so much bigger than Jake and even bigger than Rowen was at my age!)  I'm just healthy and I like to eat, so what.  Going shopping today, I'm sure mommy will buy me something.  She tries to tell daddy that I need more clothes (he's not buying it).  But he works hard so I can have whatever I want . . . I'm spoiled!!!!

Oh yeah, we got to share in Uncle Ryan & Aunt Sara's ultrasound on the 19th.  IT'S A GIRL!!!!  They will name her Kyleigh Marie.  Ella is so glad that she has a playmate like Emma does.  Sorry Rowen, maybe next time!

2-13-08

Emma Jane:  Last night we went sled riding with Jordyn, Luke & Cole.  It was so much fun.  Today I am going sledding with Miss Elaine!!!  Mommy & I made my Valentine cards yesterday (Aunt Micki taught us that).  It was a lot of work, but I finally finished them.  Mom has been trying to take my picture, I don't like it too much.  She takes forever getting me ready and then makes me sit in all these crazy positions.  What can I say . . . I hate sitting still.

Ella Grace:  I went sled riding for the 1st time last night.  It was raining and I loved letting the rain hit my face.  Mom said that wasn't good so she made me go inside.  I found out that I can stand by myself if I hold on to the ottomon.  Dad says that is where Emma learned to walk.  Mommy is not ready for that, she wants me to stay a baby for awhile.

1-25-08

Emma Jane:

I turned 4 on Tuesday!!!  I had a birthday party at Grandma Debbie's and Micki's house.  Mom & Dad took me skiing on my birthday and I went to Chuck E. Cheese with Hera!  I'm going again this weekend with Aubrey.  I love that place, but my mom is not to fond of it.

Let me tell you about our little ski trip.  It was just my 2nd time skiing and I loved it as much this time as last year.  Mom and Dad got me all bundled up, I  had like 3 layers of clothes on including my adorable new snow bunny long underwear from Grandma Mary.  I put on my ski boots and was ready to go.  Dad asked me about 10 times if I had to pee, but I just wanted to get out there and ski!!!  My daddy takes me up the hill and mommy waits at the bottom to catch me cause I like to go really fast.  Anyway, about half way up the hill on our magic carpet ride, I got this incredible urge to pee.  Needless to say by the time I got to the bottom of the hill, I was soaked.  Mom and Dad were not too happy.  Mommy took me into the bathroom and took off all my clothes.  I peed through all my layers.  I was so upset because I wanted to ski!!!  So mom said that I could go down a couple more times with just my bibs on (naked skiing at age 4, mom says there is something wrong with that).    I was having so much fun that mommy went and bought me a very overpriced pair of long underwear so I could ski a little longer.  What a fun time we had (well me anyway).  I'm trying to get Daddy to let me ride the rides (ski lift) and go down the big hills.  Mommy doesn't think that is such a good idea either!!!

Ella Grace:  I have had my first taste of baby food this month.  I have come to find that I hate green beans, but I do like spitting them at mommy.  I am growing so fast, I weighed 16-4 on January 7th and today at the doctor's office I weighed    17-2!!!!  That's almost a whole pound in 2 1/2 weeks.  What can I say, I'm a big girl.  It's been an interesting month for me, I finally rolled over for daddy, I've been doing it since 12-3 but just not for daddy.  I can sit on my own now but I love my feet so I usually end up falling over after I get ahold of them.  My absolute favorite thing is my jumper.  I love jumping, I'm exercising these legs so I can be a great ball player someday.  My daddy just can't wait to watch us in "girl sports"!!!

12-28-07

What a great Christmas holiday we had!!! Christmas Eve we went to church, then out to Grandma and Grandpa Gilkerson's where we opened gifts.  Grandma Mary and Papa Roger always give a ton of great gifts!!!  Then we went out to Uncle Duck and Aunt Judy's for a little bite to eat.  Emma had a hard time going to sleep that night.  When we got home at 11:00 Santa's reindeer had left footprints on our steps.    We explained that Santa had been here but he couldn't leave any presents because the girls were not asleep in their beds.  Emma had to leave 7 cookies for Santa (which she taste tested). She finally went to sleep around midnight!

Christmas morning both sets of grandparents came to watch the girls open gifts at 8:00am.  Emma came downstairs to see her BIG UGLY BIKE sitting beside the tree!  She was so excited!  Little Miss Ella just loved opening her gifts, how funny it was to see a 3 1/2 month old get so involved in ripping the paper.  The girls gave daddy his present (a picture book of him and the girls).  He loved it so much he cried!

Then off to Minerva we went at 10:15!  No time to play with the gifts, we had more opening and visiting and eating to do!  The girls had fun playing with cousins Hera and Rowen.  Uncle Ryan & Aunt Sara had the best gift of all:  an ultrasound picture of THEIR 1ST BABY!!!!!  We are so excited for them.

After dinner we headed to Brewster for a little Gilkerson Family time.  We don't get to see them very often so it was fun just catching up.  Emma had fun with Matt and Ben. And Ella has found a new friend in Zachary (he is 2 months older than she is).

Then at 8:00 we came back to town to see the Krantz family (or what was left of them after the long day).  We walked in to a not so friendly game of catch phrase!!!  Of course we ate again (Aunt Judy always has great food and lots of it), Emma played with the kids, and Ella got passed around a little.  We were so tired by the end of the day, but not Emma.  She wanted to spend the night with the Senter kids.  That is until 11:30 when she called for daddy to come get her.  When she woke up the next morning, the 1st thing she said was, "Can I go to Cole's?"  AMAZING!

Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Thank you to everyone who made ours so special!!!  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

12-10-07

WOW!  We sure have been busy since the last time we checked in.  I went back to work and have been very busy taking Christmas pictures.  The girls spent last Wednesday at Miss Elaine's house.  Emma made cookies and snow angels with Elaine.  She laughed so hard in the snow that she wet her pants.  Thanks to our babysitters for making going back to work a little easier.

Ella is now 3 months old.  She rolled over last Thursday (back to front) then later that night she rolled the other way!!!  I thought maybe she would stay a baby a little longer than Emma, but it seems she wants to be on the move like her big sister.

Yesterday, the 3 babies were baptized.  Ella and Jake were baptized in the morning, then we came to our house for brunch.  After that, it was off to Akron for Miss Avari's baptism (& Scott too).  It was a busy day, but well worth it.  God gave us these beautiful blessings and we will do our best to raise them knowing Him and what He has done for us.

Special thanks to my family for making the trip down to Strasburg to share in Ella's special day.
