Hi everyone - I realize that it has been a very long time since I updated Es page.  I went back to work full time then got to go part time and well now we are pregnant with our second child whom is due September 21, 2009.  We are having a great time with our little toddleer - he is crazy busy and so much fun.  Hope everyone is doing well.

Hi everyone, it is safe to say that life is very full.  I hardly have time to update this web site.  I am going to try and go back and upload a monthly picture so everyone can at least see how E is growing.  Recently, we spent a week in Mac while Rob was hunting.  Ethan has had several nannies in the last few weeks and we are still perfecting that situation.  He is doing so many fun things, like pulling himself up to lower furniture and making all kinds of noises as well as mimicking sounds.  He is really a bundle of fun - we love him lots and he is just the best thing that has ever happened to us.  Hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving!

Hello, we made yet another trip back to Kansas - E is getting good at the drive.  This time the main event was my class reunion.  We had a good time - there are a few photos from that event on the Pictures page.  Ethan loved seeing everyone and looks forward to the next visit.  We go to the doctor for his six month check up on August 19th.  The Kramer's are all coming out in the meantime for a white water rafting trip.  E will be hanging out with Shauna while we go because he is just not quite old enough to make it.  Hope everyone is having a good summer!

Happy 4th of July everyone!  We went back to Kansas and visited friends and family.  Ethan did very well except he did not really care for the screaming fireworks.  Ethan went swimming for the first time in Grandma and Grandpa's pool.  He loved the water - lucky for us it was over 90 degrees.  Ethan also got to meet his Aunt Connie and Uncle Vince and more cousins.  He really enjoys the other kids.  I have updated the photos as well to include several from this weekend.  One thing is for sure, Kansas is hot in the summer!

Hi everyone, Ethan had his four month check up and they said he was super healthy.  He is 26 inches long and 17 lbs.  A big boy!  The doctor said off the record that if he kept growing like this, he would be a 6 foot tall man - I guess he gets that from his uncles Rodd and Brian.  Because clearly he does not get it from me!  He had to get shots too, but only cried for a minute.  I think it is harder on me than him.  The doc also said that we could start Ethan on cereal because he is such a big boy he is probably more hungry than most.  Ethan has started to wake up at 3 or 4 every night so we thought maybe this is because he is hungry.  So we gave him cereal on 6/30/08 for the first time.  He really liked it and the next day he could not get enough.  We finally got him his own soccer ball, which he alternates between kicking with his feet and eating.  And Uncle Brian, E said he is almost ready to go hunting with you guys, he has his big boy camo on and he can almost sit by himself.  Me on the other hand, I think there are too many bugs, animals, trees, and unknowns so I put the veto on it... for now.  We will be back in McPherson for the 4th of July.  If you would like to stop by and see us, Debbie is having an open house for Ethan on the 5th from 1:00 to 4:00.  Hope to see you there - and Happy 4th of July!

Ethan had his first plane ride over Memorial Day weekend.  He fell asleep almost as soon as the plane took off and slept both flights.  I think the biggest change was all the stuff we had to take with us.  He did not make it into the water at the Lake of the Ozarks because the water was too cold.  He slept in his new tent/bed and loved the flip flop room at Grandma and Grandpa Kramer's lake house.  He rode on Deb and Doug's speed boat and took in a few rays - literally a few.

Today is little E's three month birthday.  It is hard to believe that it has only been three months; I can not imagine life without him.  He is having so much fun these days, reaching for things, chewing on things, smiling, and making tons of "talking" noises.  Rob and I have so much fun with him.

5/19/08 - We made it through my first week back to work, well I only worked Wendsday - Friday.  My mom was here for my first day and a half.  Then Brook had Ethan for the rest the afternoon and on Friday, I had Ethan and worked from home.  I did not shed to many tears, thank goodness for those two ladies.  Little E is taking his first airplane ride this Friday.  It is a late flight so he might be sleepy or maybe he will be the loud baby on the plane, who knows...

Ethan went to his first Baseball game yesterday with our friends, Tyson, Stacy and Haliey.  We celebrated cinco de mayo with some mexican food pregame.  He had a good time, watched a little, slept a little, cried a little.  Overall, a good time was had.

Ethan had his two month check up on April 24th.  He weighed in at 13 lbs and 8 oz and he was 24 inches long.  The doctor checked everything else out and he is doing great.  He is spitting up a little less but still spitting up a lot.  We went to seven falls and garden of the gods on April 27th.  Ethan was awake to see the water falls but soon went to sleep.

Ethan is noticing toys and peoples faces a lot more now.  He will give you a full mouth smile if you talk with him.  He is evolving into so much fun I don't know how I will be able to leave him when I have to go back to work.  He has started sleeping really well on most nights anywhere between five and seven and a half hours.  It is amazing how good I feel after a seven hour sleep.

After we got back from Kansas, I called the doctor because Ethan was spitting up a lot and crying.  The doctor wanted us to go in to Childrens Hospital and do an ultrasound to ensure Ethan did not have Pyloric Stenosis.  So on 3/27/08, Ethan and I went to the hospital (poor little guy could not eat for three hours before the test).  The tech gave him his first bottle of petialite and scanned his tummy.  The doctor called a few hours later and told us the test was clear - that he did not have Pyloric Stenosis.  I have Ethan on a liquid Zantac to help with the acid and that has kept him from crying when he spits up.

We went to McPherson for Easter and Robs birthday.  We had a great time and Ethan got to meet some Aunts that he had not met before.  He also got to meet a few of his friends, Carter, Reed, and Adyson.  You can see some of the fun we had on the pictures page.  It was a quick trip but it was nice to see everyone.

To date, Ethan has been able to meet many friends and family.   Grandma and Grandpa Martin, Uncle Rodd, Aunt Michelle, Cousins Javier and Joelle, Uncle Brad, and Aunt Callie were all anxiously waiting with Rob and me when we welcomed Ethan to this world.   Grandma and Grandpa Kramer came to visit Ethan on 2/23/08 and Uncle Brian and dare I say Aunt Erica came to visit on Ethan's proposed due date (2/29/08).

We have had many friends come to visit too.

·         Tijuana , Kris, and Mila

·         Shauna and Beau

·         Adam and Deanne

·         Anne, Kristin, Brooke, Briana, Malina, Kelly, and Holly

We have also received many kind letters and gifts from our friends and family.   Also, a big thanks to everyone for all your kind words, thoughts, and gestures.   We appreciate everything you have all done.

Ethan lost a little bit of weight at the hospital and at our five day check up he was still below his birth weight.   However, at his two week check up he had started gaining and weight in at 7 pounds 14 ounces.   He had grown half an inch to make the full 21 inches.   The doctor gave him a clean bill of health and we won't be back at the doctors office till he makes his two month birthday.

After years of trying Rob and I found ourselves with a positive pregnancy test.   We were so excited and surprised but could not wait to share it with everyone.   We made the decision to wait to find out if it was a boy or girl which turned out to be very hard but well worth it in the end.   Overall, my pregnancy went very smoothly.   In the last few months Doctor Johnson thought that our baby was going to be about 9 pounds but she was wrong, we welcomed a 7 pound 2 ounce baby after 18 hours of induction and the eventually cesarean delivery.   It was all worth it to get to hold our little baby!
