August 30, 2009-  Evan has had a pretty busy summer.  We have visited with family several times this summer.  Health wise he is doing ok.  We do not like having to clean the bowels out every three weeks.  He has to go on a liquid diet and he does not like jello and popsicles.  So we both get kind of cranky before it is over.  We have gotten good reports from all his doctors so far.  In October we have to go see the Urologist again to make sure all is well there because we are having trouble with potty training but we don't know if it is medically related or just his age.  It is hard to get on to him if he can't tell.  He starts preschool on September 1st.  He should have a good time and he likes playing with his cousins all the time now too.  He loves being outside and playing at the pool.  He loves visiting south ga especially when he can ride the tractor and the horse or "cow" to Evan.  Well that is all for now and I will keep you posted as we go along.

5/20/2009:   I know I am so bad.  I need to do a better job of keeping everyone updated.  Evan is doing well.  He had is 12th surgery on March 30th and everything is doing good.  We have to do probes every night to try to soften scar tissue but other than that no lasting complications.  He has to be on a high fiber diet and on a daily laxative to prevent constipation which is a serious side effect for Evan.  Other than that he is all BOY.  His knees have scraps on them and he runs everywhere.  Right now he is napping.  That is the only time I can accomplish anything.  I am updated pics so hopefully this will satisfy some for awhile.  Love to all.

March 4,2009:  OK OK I know it has been forever since I last updated and I apologize.  I am making up for it now.  Evan has been growing like a weed. He only has an on button and an off button.  He likes to run and hop everywhere.  He loves to be OUTSIDE.  He got a new slide set for Christmas and loves to slide and dig in the dirt.  His drink of choice right now is COW (aka milk).  He does not have a true favorite food at this time but he will eat Chicken Nuggets and Fries.  Pizza runs a close second.  As for vegetables, we can get him to eat on occasion spinach, raw with italian dressing.  He is becoming more vocal this year but he is still not talking much or not that you can understand him anyway.  We are trying to potty train but he will not tell us when he needs to go.  He knows what to do once we place him on the potty but he will not volunteer.  We are going to go see Dr. Heiss on March 10 to schedule another surgery. This one will be minor and mostly cosmetic.  His ear infections are bascially gone since the Tube placement.  So over all he is a healty two year old.  He still has allergy issues that we deal with but nothing major at this point.  He loves to play and watch Scobby Doo, WOW WOW Wubbzy, and TOM and Jerry and CARS!!!!!   Ok now I am going to upload pics for Aunt Meri.  Talk to you later.

August 17,2008-  It has been a busy summer.  At the beginning of Summer, we went to Texas and visited with Aunt Amy and Serena.  We had lots of fun.  We went to the zoo and to the beach.  And Evan would always stick out his toungue at Aunt Amy.  Evan had fun at the beach but he did not understand why the water kept disappearing.  He loves to swim in the pool and play in the playground.  He is speaking more words everyday.  His favorite words are cow, purple, bubbles, ball, and daddy.   He also likes to crow like a rooster.  He loves Scobby doo.  If you want him to sit still which is not often, play scobby doo.  He is growing like a weed and loves to eat.  His favorite foods are pasta, fruit, and mexican.  I hope you enjoy the new pictures and I will try to update more often.

3/14/2008:  Sorry I have not updated anything in a while.  I will try to put in new pictures this weekend. I just wanted to update everyone on Evan.  He is growing like a weed.  He had surgery on Tuesday 3/11/08.  He had to have tubes put in his ears and his adnoids taken out.  He is doing well.  He bouced back pretty quick.  He like to play outside now that is it finally getting warm again.  He is walking/running everywhere.  He is not talking all that much but he does have his favorite words such as..DAD, cow, cat, and MOO.  To Evan all large animals are cows and all small animals are cats but all animals MOO.   He loves to go to Mimi's and play with GAT (garrett).  He is no longer sleeping in his crib.  We had to move him to the twin bed in order for him to sleep; however, he is sleeping much better.   I will do my best to update the picutres this weekend and try to keep it updated more.  Thanks.

11/4/07:  well it has been a crazy couple of months.  Evan is doing well.  We have been fighting diaper rash, but I think we have finally gotten it unger control with a prescription cream.  He is starting to eat table food.  He loves pasta, bread, and fruits.  He also loves grits.  He is currently 22 pounds and 12 ounces and 29 ans 3/4" tall.  He is trying to talk.  He can say dada, up, out and some other babbling.  He is a daddy's boy unless Mimi is around.  He is still crawling but it will not be long that he is running everywhere.  We do not have to go back to the surgeon till April and all is doing as it should for now.  We go on Nov 15 for tests for the urologist to see if his bladder reflux is getting better.  He was a monkey for Halloween.  He also loves Mexican food..refried beans and chimichangas are his favorite foods.  He loves to be outside and he likes to play at football practice with all the big boys.  Well i will try harder to keep in touch.  I have been very busy.  Hope you enjoy the latest pics more to come in the near future.

August 11, 2007 -  We went a visited my new cousin today.  His name is Henry Robert.  He sure is little and Mom thinks he is cute but I mostly ignored him.  He is 8 pounds and 14 ounces and 21 inches long.  I did not like going into the hospital at all.   I just got out myself late Monday night.  My last surgery went well and I am now having poopy diapers.  Although it has given me a roaring case of diaper rash.  I am also teething.  I am trying to get some top teeth since I only have two bottom teeth. I am making it hard for mom and dad to get some sleep but they are doing ok i guess.  I am crawling everywhere and getting into everything.  If it is on the floor it is in my mouth.   I am also pulling up pretty good now and I almost pulled up on the feather couch but not quite yet.  Well that's all the news for now.

7/18/2007-  Well Evan is getting bigger every day.  He had his nine month check-up.  He is 20 lbs 13 ounces and 29 1/4 inches long.  He has two bottom teeth.  He is trying to crawl.  He goes a couple of feet on his hands and knees; however, his favorite crawling position is the army crawl.  He can zoom around using it.  His next surgery is still on target for August 2.  Hopefully, this will be it for awhile at least.  I will try to update pictures sometime this weekend.

5/16/2007:   We saw the surgeon yesterday.  We have scheduled the next phase of surgery for June 11th at Egleston.  This is the cosmetic phase of surgery to remove the mass, and to make his bottom look normal.  The MRI showed his musculature for the rectum is asymterical and atrophied (small).  The doctor is not sure how this is going to effect Evan and we may not know until it is time to potty train.  The surgery is going to be a day surgery and we should be home later that day; however, jokingly Dr. Heiss told us to pack a toothbrush since this is Evan we are talking about.  Otherwise, Evan is doing great.  At last count he weighs 17 pounds and 14 ounces.  He is sitting up by himself and when he is on his stomach he is trying to learm to scoot but has not quite figured it out yet.  He is teething but not teeth as of yet.  And loves his food.  Poppy (my dad) does not know how he can hold it all.  Well I need to get back to work.  I will keep you posted on the continueing SAGA of EVAN.

April 26, 2007:   Well, I finally had my MRI.  Dr. Heiss briefly talked to Mom and said the extra tissue is all fat and that my spincter is atrophied (which means there is not much there); however, Dr.  Heiss wanted to look at the films and then decide what to do.  They weighed and measured me at the hospital and I was 17 pounds 5 ounces and 28 inches long.  I am still trying to get my teeth and I am getting chubby again so I must be having another growth spurt. I have been sleeping through the night for the most part lately, but I still have some 3 o'clock Mommy wake up calls.  I hope you like the new picutres.

April 13,2007:   Well Evan has had some pretty eventful days. On March 28th Evan and I (Kelli) were in a car accident.  Evan is fine but his mommy got banged up pretty good.  That weekend, we went to South GA for his first Singletary Reunion.  He was passed around and admired by all.  Then he had his first Easter.  Mimi gave him his easter basket. He is turning over better now and we are working on sitting up but he wants to play with and eat his toes so he falls over.  He is eating babyfood.  Carrots are currently his favorite.  He finally had his MRI thursday.  Now we are just waiting on the results.  Well I have to go someone woke up from his nap.

March 1, 2007 PM:  Evan is doing much better.  He is playing and wants to be held and be up now instead of laying on his back all the time.  He is back to cooing and smiling.  So our first day out of the hospital went very well.  Stay tuned for further information.

March 1, 20007:  It is early morning and I am writing this email at home and Evan is swinging in his swing.  I was on my way down to egleston and Mom called to say the nurse told her we were going home.  I got there, they showed me how to pack his wound and away we went back to Dahlonega.  We got home around 10 last night.  Evan had a good night. He bascially slept all night long.  We have to go back to the surgeon Dr Heiss on 3/13 and of course Dr. Corn for his 6 month check up.  I can't believe he is almost 6 months old.  Thank you everyone for your support and prayers they mean the world to us.

February 27,2007:  It has been pretty uneventful the last few days.  Evan is feeling much better and is getting bored and wants to be entertained.  They are removing his drainage tubes tomorrrow and then we will see.  Today he went on a wagon ride with Mimi and he loved it.  Aunt Kellie it might be time for the little red wagon.  He still does not want to be held very much and you can tell when the motrin is running out.  He is getting a breathing treatment once a day for his head cold. (the reason we went to the doctor in the first place).  stay tuned for further info as I get it.

February 24, 2007 @ 6:10 PM:  Evan is out of surgery and doing well.  They drained his scrotum and pockets and pockets of pus came out.  It was actually connected to the original abcess.  It ran under his fatty tissue that is why the did not find the pus in his scrotum to begin with.  They did a CT Scan and the fatty tissue still looks like a lipoma ( fatty tumor).  However, she said a MRI will be a better diagnostic test to determine exactly what it is.  They left a drain in and will try to unpack it on Monday and determine what else needs to be done at that time.  The surgeon stated his little scrotum is softer now and should be more comfortable.  I will keep updating as it happens so stay tuned.  Kelli

February 24, 2007:  Yesterday was a fairly normal day.  Evan's fever broke and he started to eat his formual.  He was  even playing a little in his bed.  However, this morning he started leaking from another abcess so this afternoon we are going back into surgery.  He is still getting his breathing treatments and the started hom on actual pain medicine which helps tremendously on comfort.  We are waiting on the new antibiotic to work.  He is still very swollen and red.  His left femoral lymph node is now swollen as well but that is to be expected with the infection.  Well that is the latest news.  I will let you all know more later this afternoon or tommorow.  Kelli

February 23,2007:  We are still at Egleston.  We were scheduled for an MRI under anesthesia today, but Dr. Heiss cancelled it.  He wants to wait until everything is normal again so the MRI will pick up what the abdomin and pelvis really look like.  Dr. Heiss is changing Evan's antibiotic since the swelling has not gone down yet.  The fever broke yesterday and has not returned.  He now has an upper respiratory infection as well (which is why we were going to see Dr. Corn in the first place.   They have respiratory therapists coming in and doing some treatments to break up the mucus and to stop the wheezing.  Dr. Heiss is going to do a constrast x-ray of the rectum to make sure everything is ok.  well I will update as it goes on....thanks for the prayers and support kelli

February 21,2007:  Well the drama of evan continues.  Evan has had a little cough and stufy nose for a few days now.  But on Tuesday February 20th, Mom wakes me up and Evan was runnung a 101 degree temp.  Well we were scheduled to see Dr. Heiss that morning or on the way to his office I called and got Evan an appointment with Dr. Corn as well.  At Dr. Heiss's office everything went well and we were told to call back once his cold subsides to schedule the next phase of surgery (removal of the fatty tissue).  However, at Dr. Heiss's office we notice his little scrotum was redder than normal but we did not really think anything was wrong since he was just examined.  Well at 3:30 Mimi was changing evan's daiper and notice it was swollen and hot to the touch.  When we got to Dr. Corn's office it was three times its normal size and hot and swollen.  She sent us to Egleston. He had an ultrasound which showed excessive fluid but no hernia.  He was admitted at 2:30 am and was placed on antibiotics.  At 2:30 pm on february 21st, he went in the OR for incision and drainage of an abcess on his little bottom.  He is still has a fever ranging from 100-102.  His little scrotum is still red and swollen.  Once again we tried to have an MRI but could not because he failed mild sedation because he was wheezing and had to have breathing treatments.  He has to have general anesthesia now for his MRI and he cannot have a fever because the MRI will  make him hotter.  Well that is all for now...I will update as the drama unfolds.  Thanks for the prayers and support.  Kelli
