1/13/2010 Happy New Year everyone! We had a good Christmas and hope everyone else did as well. Nana came to spend Christmas with us. Matthew and Nicholas enjoyed getting ready for Santa's visit, including Matthew leaving him a note telling him to be quiet so he wouldn't wake up Nana, who sleeps in the same room as the Christmas tree. On the day Nana was to leave, we spent the morning at The Living Desert in Palm Springs. Nicholas and Matthew got to feed the giraffes and it was a nice way to spend Nana's last day.
Then, the holidays were over, and it is now back to work, school, and daycare. The boys have started swimming lessons again. Matthew got to move up to Preschool 2. We are SO proud of him; you would never know he was once afraid of the water. Nicholas is no longer in Mommy and Me classes, but gets to take big-boy swim lessons and is in Preschool 1. He is also doing very well, and luckily never fully developed the fear Matthew had. Both boys are still in their gymnastics program, Matthew at TumbleTots and Nicholas in Gymboree. Matthew is going to have a gymnastics program in March that we are really excited to see. There's not much more excitement, but have started the process for Kindergarten. We are working on the enrollment packet and have some schools and programs we are looking at. Our first choice is a full-day Dual Immersion Kindergarten. This will allow Matthew to learn Spanish while also learning to read in English. We're hoping it will also provide enough challenge for him, as he is already ahead of most the Kindergarten readiness skills. We can not believe that our eldest is going to be starting Kindergarten!

It has been awhile since we have updated the website. Since our last update, we have been to Minnesota and back...and are now getting into the Christmas spirit. While in Minnesota, we spent two weeks with friends and family. It was great to see everyone that we saw! We had an early Thanksgiving/Christmas with Sarah's family...and spent Thanksgiving with Christine's family. Having Christmas early has confused the boys a little...but it has definitly gotten them in the spirit. Coming home was an adventure...when we were eating a late lunch on Saturday afternoon, our plane (unknown to us) was taking off...so when we arrived at the airport, we were told that our plane was gone. We arrived in the early afternoon on Sunday and were able to fly stand-by and arrive Sunday afternoon. It did not leave us much time to get ready for work on Monday, but at least were home safely.
Since being back home, we have been getting back into the routine. Nicholas is at Crystals, Matthew is at pre-school, and Sarah and I are back at work. We have also been getting ready for the holidays...we have gotten our Christmas tree, decorated the house, got most of our shopping done, and are now waiting Nana's arrival on the 18th. Matthew is still enjoying gymnastics. He was in his first parade for TumbleTots....he got to ride the Tumble Bus! Nicholas is doing well in MyGym and enjoys playing with us and trying new skills.
We are working on our holiday letter, which we hope to send out before the New Year. Wish us luck on that. We will also post pictures from the trip to Minnesota, as well as some other pictures of events here soon!
We hope that everyone is having a joyous holiday season.
10/28/09 We have posted pictures of Pimp Your Pumpkin which was on Saturday! Everyone had a GREAT time. Nicholas made a ghost and Matthew made a pirate pumpkin. Nicholas won an award for the best use of orange...Matthew won an award for the best use of adhesive foam. Mommy and Mama made their pumpkin into Cat in the Hat....we won the award for the best use of a gourd. In addition to having a great time pimping pumpkins, there was good food and great company. Thank you Skip and Brian!
The rest of our Halloween week will be busy as well. Thursday will be gymnastics fun in Matthew's costume...he also gets to bring a friend to gymnastics...Matthew is choosing to bring his friend Mason. On Friday, Matthew has his party at school...Sarah and I are planning to attend. Then, we are trick or treating with Lucas and Dillan. I am sure that we will post pictures at the end of the weekend.
10/23/2009 Sorry it's been over 2 months since we added pictures and updated everyone on the boys. We've had some very busy weekends the last couple months. The highlights were going to the LA County Fair with our friends, Route 66 (sorry, no pics on our camera), and a weekend in San Diego at SeaWorld and Wild Animal Park. We love all the fall festivities, and they had special events at the San Diego parks when we went. One fall activity was cancelled, unfortunately. There was no Apple Day because the apple season ended exceptionally early this year, but we still went to Skip and Brian's for chili, cornbread and a homemade apple desert (apple fritters). Coming up is the 3rd annual Pimp Your Pumpkin Potluck, family game night, and Halloween! Then, in a few weeks, we will be going to Minnesota to visit family (and hopefully have time to visit friends again)
![]() 8/11/09 It has been a LONG time since we updated the site, so a lot has happened since our last update. We went to Minnesota for a NICE 2 1/2 week visit and got to see many friends and family members that we haven't seen in a while. The boys had fun hanginig out with everyone, and I hope that everyone had fun seeing (and in some cases meeting) them! I know that there are a few people that we wanted to get together with, and if we missed you, we can always try again in November when we come home for Thanksgiving. Our time in Minnesota had great weather, which apparently left with us....but that's ok. Back in California, it has been HOT! Since we have been back, we have been trying to get back into the routine of "school." Before school started, though, we took a trip to San Diego and went to (OFCOURSE) Sea World and then decided to stay and go to the San Diego Zoo. We each got to pick an animal that we really wanted to see: Mommy wanted to see the new elephant exhibit, Matthew wanted to see the giraffes and Nicholas and Mama wanted to see the monkeys. So we walked quickly, and got to see all of the animals that we wanted...plus a lot more. The new elephant exhibit was AWESOME....and the boys loved watching the elephant throw sand on itself to cool itself off. Matthew also got to spend some time playing with Mason, and we had a playdate with their friends. It is good to be getting back into the swing of things for everyone. The boys are at Crystal's house again...Matthew will be with Crystal until September, when he gets to go back to preschool. He is very excited about going back to preschool. When Mommy and Mama went to Office Depot to get some back to school stuff (they had a teacher appreciation day) Matthew insisted on buying something for his teachers...we settled on smelly markers...but I think Matthew would have boubght them one of everything in the store! Sarah and I laughed...but we know that this could become a tradition that we would have NO problems with....we know how hard teachers everywhere are struggling to make ends meet. Since we have been home, Matthew started taking Gymnastics classes at TumbleTots and Nicholas started doing classes at MyGym. Their classes are on Thursday nights...and it is GREAT! Matthew is doing very well at his gymnastics class....he is always the first one to stand in line, is usually the ONLY boy to follow directions...and seems to enjoy trying all of the fun things that they do. The teacher even told Sarah that Matthew has very strong arms....but we knew that already! Nicholas is doing well at MyGym...his favorite activity is swinging...they have cool swings that they take out, as well as just some normal swings. He loves to do excercises...and while most of the kids let their parent help, Nicholas will only sit next to us...and we often hear, "ME!" Sarah and I have really enjoyed being able to "trade" off and we think they like having an activity that is just for them. Some good news....Sarah and I got our school calendar for 2010 already....our school district is going modified traditional...that means that for Christmas of 2010, we will get to be home for Christmas. Our summer vacation will be about 6 weeks...we are looking at doing a road trip home that summer. Just to let you all know... That is what is new...hopefully, we will update sooner than we did the last time...but who knows... 5/31/2009 It has been a long time since we updated. I am sure that you will all be happy to know that we have also added pictures! We hope you like them. So...what's new in the Hagerman-Holm household?? Matthew has started his second season of Spudball. Coach Dennis returns, as well as Coach AJ. Matthew has gotten a lot better at being able to catch, hit and throw the ball during practice. He is also able to follow along better. This year, he seems to be at the front of the pack during their run. Coach Dennis even said that Matthew will probably be ready to join a T-ball team next year. Although, Nicholas will not be able to join Spudball for 2 more years, he is an honorary member of the team. He wears Matthew's shirt from last year, and loves running with the 'big boys.' He even is learning some of the skills...like the ready stance and alligator catches. Matthew continues to go to Rex's, and loves it! The school year is coming to an end though, and we have to find plans for Matthew over the summer. We think he will spend most of his time with Nicholas at Crystal's house. We went camping this weekend. It was Nicholas' first trip, and he did well! He only woke up when he lost his papa, or when he crawled out of his sleeping bag and got cold. It went a lot better than we had planned, and are ready to camp with Mommy's family while we are in Minnesota. We are planning Nicholas' party on Saturday afternoon. Can you believe that he is 2??!!?? He is having a fish theme, and we are planning a bunch of games for the kids to play that have to do with fish--they will get to dig for treaures in our sandbox, go fishing, and have a duck pond. It will definitely keep us busy this week getting the house ready for guests. As our school year comes to a close, we know that our summer month will be busy...with the highlight being trip to Minnesota! We are excited to spend time with our family and catch up. 5/18/2009 Sorry, but only a new story added today. I don't have any new pictures ready. It has been over a month since the last update, so I figured I better do something! Since our last entry, Matthew has started Spudball. It is his second year doing it and he is so much better, both behavior wise as well as skill. Nicholas is an honorary Spudballer! He wears Matthew's old shirt to each practice and likes to get in the middle of the action. The coaches are great and actually include him as much as possible. He'll have to wait another 2 years before he can actually start because they changed the starting age from 3 to 4. Next year Coach Dennis says we should look for an actual T-ball league for Matthew because he will get bored with 3 years of Spudball. We are really looking for an activity for Nicholas to join. Matthew has been involved in something since he was 1 (starting with Gymboree), but when Gymboree closed, we haven't found anything else for Nicholas that we can actually make it to (a lot of things for his age are during the day). We have stopped swimming lessons for now. Nicholas can't really get anymore out of Mommy and Me classes (we do family swim twice a week instead). Matthew's class was getting bigger and he got almost no time with the teacher, so we figured he might as well stop for awhile and work on the skills with us. The other day Matthew got brave and was actually swimming by himself with the "backpack" on (it's like a lifejacket, but the floatation pads are all worn on the back with a single strap around the chest). The weather has been getting nicer and we spend lots of time outside (when we aren't busy with another activity). We have gone to some baseball games too...Matthew LOVES the mascot Bernie and the cheeleaders. Coming up we have Nicholas' birthday party. It is going to be a Fun in the Sun party featuring Nemo because he loves fish. It's going to be at our house on June 6th...we will definitely put up pictures after his 2nd birthday, if not sooner. This warm weather also means our trip to MN is coming closer...we will be in MN from June 27th to July 15th and hope to see lots of family and friends. 4/6/2009 Mommy is home with Nicholas today because he's not feeling well (he has been sleeping since 10am and it is now 3 1/2 hours later...and he slept over 12 hours last nigh), so Mama asked me to update pictures. The pictures loaded today are from when Erin and Bailey came to visit. We went to the beach, SeaWorld and DisneyLand. There are also cute pictures of the kids playing and hanging around the house. Matthew's birthday party was yesterday. We will celebrate again on Friday, his actual birthday. We are surprising him at Preschool and then going to get birthday pictures. Then, on Saturday, we will celebrate both Easter and his birthday. The morning is an Easter Egg Hunt and then that afternoon we are going out for his birthday dinner. Matthew wants to go to Red Lobster and Uncle Skip and Uncle Brian, Jo, Yenly, Mr. and Mrs. Schneider and hopefully Grandpa Mark and Uncle Wil will be joining us. I will put up pictures of Matthew's birthday celebrations when the festivities are all over. 3/16/09 It has been awhile since we updated the site. We will upload pictures later tonight too. Since we last wrote, we have been very busy. Nana came to visit for two weeks. Mommy and Nana spent the first 5 days on their road trip to Arizona, while Mama stayed home with the boys. Then, when Nana and Mommy came back home, we spent a few days just hanging around. Both boys have swimming lessons on Saturdays now-Nicholas is still in the Mommy and Me swimming class, and doing well. Matthew moved up to the Beginner 1 Level, which means he goes into the water on his own. He is beginning to work on doing the back float and front float on his own, as well as working on blowing bubbles while being submerged. We also went to Joshua Tree National Park and hiked around for a little bit. We found a great place with some awesome rock formations that the boys LOVED. Matthew wanted to climb the rocks higher and higher, but we made him stay on the littlier rocks, as Nicholas insisted on following his brother. We also spent a day at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. While we were there, we decided to go on a whale watching excursion. We got to see seals, a mega-pod of dolphins, and the blow of a whale. Mama saw the tail fin of the whale as it did a deep dive, which was cool, but Nana and Sarah and the boys missed it. Nicholas slept through most of the whale watching trip, but he enjoyed seeing all of the fish at the Aquarium. While Nana was here, Mommy and I were able to go on our hot air balloon ride. It was SO AWESOME! The view was amazing. And....after a long trip in the air, we landed in a secured Native American Reservation. So...we landed with a large welcoming party, and had to be escorted off the reservation after we got all packed up. When we arrived back home, we found the boys had a GREAT time with Nana, making forts and playing in the living room. After Nana left on Saturday morning, Erin and Bailey came. With Erin and Bailey, we spent Sunday at DisneyLand. With it being a weekend and the first day of many places spring break, DisneyLand was busy. We got to DisneyLand at about 10:30, and had to battle long lines just to get a parking space. Once we got into DisneyLand, and got Bailey and Nicholas their ears, we got started. First, we rode on Dumbo. Then we decided we had to go see some characters before they left for the day. Erin and Bailey waited in line for the princesses, while we went on Small World. They have updated the ride, and it was so awesome! They have included different characters from different storybooks. Then we went on the teacups and went on some other rides. Everyone's favorite ride was the new Nemo Ride. It was so realistic. Unfortunetly, none of our pictures turned out, so you will have to believe us when we say it was the best! Then, we watched a new show called "Fantasmic!" It included water, land, fire, fireworks, pyrotechnics, and lasers into one show. The kids loved it. After the show, we watched the fireworks. Matthew fell asleep during the fireworks, Nicholas woke up from the fireworks, and Bailey fell asleep right after them. It was a busy day-finally arriving home after midnight. Today, we spent a quiet day playing in the backyard. The kids had a lot of fun just playing and relaxing. Tomorrow, we are going to SeaWorld; Wednesday we are going to Santa Monica Pier; and Thursday we are going to Hollywood. It has been a busy few weeks, but we have loved it! 2/23/2009 As Grandma Leenie reminded us, it has been over a month since any update. January was event filled as everyone helped celebrate Mama's 30th birthday for an entire month. Some mini-celebrations included breakfast with Jo, a picnic with Skip and Brian, some special treats just for Mama, and ended with a visit from Grandma Leenie! Then, in February, Matthew and Nicholas started swim lessons. Some days are better than others, but overall Matthew is getting much more confident in the water (although he still won't let us let go of him yet), and Nicholas continues to be a little fish who is actually attempting to swim from the side to us. As Nicholas is moving closer to 2 years, he has started showing a lot more skills. He is able to do a board puzzle (where each piece goes in its own spot), trying to talk more, and is already playing pretend. Matthew has started going to Preschool full time and really likes it. He talks about his teachers and friends all the time and can't wait to have a birthday party that his school friends and "all his teachers" can come to. Some events we are looking forward to are Nana coming to visit this Friday. Five days of her visit her and Mommy are going on a road trip to Arizona to celebrate Nana's birthday. But, the rest of her trip, there will be lots of fun activities with everyone. One highlight will be going camping in Joshua Tree National Park...Nicholas' first time in a tent! 1/8/2009 Happy New Year everyone! We kicked off the New Year with Mama's birthday...she turned 30 this year. We were going to go on a hot-air balloon ride so Nana watched the boys for an evening and over-night. Unfortunately, the balloon ride was cancelled due to a tear the night before. Mommy and Mama still went to dinner on the 1st and a movie on the 2nd, and then when they got home the boys and Nana had a Surprise Party waiting! They decorated, had party hats, and baked a cake. It helped put a smile on Mama's face after the disappointing night. We will reschedule the balloon ride later this year and hopefully her 30th year gets better! After Mama's birthday, Nana had to leave and we all went back to work, daycare, and preschool. Matthew will start going to Preschool full-time in February. Even though he has fun playing there, he says he's getting "bigger and bigger" so "only Nicholas goes to Crystal's." Nicholas still loves it there, but Matthew has more friends his age at preschool to play with. Just 2 hours ago we had a 5.0 earthquake with our city as the epicenter...it was the first earthquake Matthew felt and he got a little scared (him and Nicholas had just about fallen asleep). He wanted to know why people shook the ground. Trying to explain to a 3 1/2 year old that the ground just shakes was not working very well :) Finally, he started telling a "silly story" about giraffes and elephants and gorillas running under the ground and shaking it...gotta love a preschooler's imagination! For now, life is back to "normal" until March when Nana comes to visit again followed by Cousin Erin and Bailey...we can't wait until then!
12/29/2008 Christmas is officially over, but we are still celebrating. Nana came to spend Christmas with us and will stay through New Year's. We went to Grandpa Mark and Uncle Wil's house on the 23rd to spend some time with close friends after picking Nana up at the airport. Then, on Christmas Eve, we had our neighbor Jo over for our "traditional" Christmas meal of Ham and Cheesy Potatoes. The boys got to open a few presents, like their new pajamas, but had to wait for most of their presents on Christmas, which was spent with just the 5 of us (4 plus Nana). They were very excited to see all the presents that Santa left...but Matthew first had to check to see that Santa ate the cookies and drank the milk! Santa left a tool table and vacuum cleaner for Matthew and brought Nicholas a Little People's car garage and motorized four-wheeler. Both boys enjoy each other's toys though, so it's like they both got 4 GREAT presents from Santa! After breakfast, they then opened the rest of their presents and spent the rest of the day just hanging out at home and playing with their new toys. We spent the next couple days re-decorating our bathroom...Nana's present to Mommy and Mama...including a new sink. We took one night to go look at the lights in Riverside (the largest lights display in the country). Then, today, we went to SeaWorld to celebrate SeaWorld's Holiday Nights. There was a special holiday Shamu show as well as a comedic seal and sea lion show. This should be the end of the Christmas celebrations...but then we get to celebrate New Year's and Mama's birthday...she's turning the big 3-0! We will be adding new pictures of all the celebrations soon, but for now you can go and look at the Christmas pictures taken at JC Penney's by clicking on the link below and typing in Sarah Hagerman-Holm for the user name. https://www.smilesbywire.com/home.asp?AC=LTPP0296110246JCP
12/7/2008 We had a great vacation in Minnesota. We celebrated Thanksgiving, as well as Christmas while we were there. The boys had fun playing in the leaves, seeing the snow, spending time with family and celebrating the pre-holiday season! The boys also got to see Santa while we were in Minnesota. Matthew and Nicholas really seemed to enjoy him, and neither one of them were scared.... Since we have been home, Mommy and Mama started work right away. Matthew also went back to pre-school, and getting into the swing of things has been nice. He is also doing very well in preschool still. Nicholas is still doing well at Crystal's. He is always busy and running all over. This weekend, we decided to make it a decorating and getting ready for Christmas weekend. On Saturday, we picked out our Christmas tree and decorated the house. On Sunday, we decorated the tree, shopped for decorations for the yard (we bought candy canes and a reindeer because Matthew INSISTED on having one), and took Christmas pictures. Pictures turned out so CUTE!!! Everyone will be getting one soon. We hope that everyone has a great holiday season!
11/20/2008 We are in Minnesota for the Thanksgiving holiday! We have just begun to visit family. The Holm family is celebrating Thanksgiving early (Sunday) and then we will celebrate with the Hagerman family on Thanksgiving. With everyone's busy schedule, we're not sure we'll have time to visit any friends unfortunately. We will post pictures of our visit when we return to California. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! 11/2/2008 Well, the Halloween fun is over. The boys had a GREAT Halloween this year. The first party was at My Gym, where they got to run, dance, and play games. Then, later in the evening, it was time for the annual Pimp Your Pumpkin Potluck at Uncle Skip and Uncle Brian's house. The boys pimped their pumpkins by painting them this year, while Mommy and Mama carved a pumpkin with all four of our Winnie-the-Pooh character faces on it. We were there until 11:00 and the evening ended with awards being handed out...Matthew and Nicholas won prizes for their pumpkins! The following weekend was Halloween. Matthew had a party at preschool, which Mommy, Mama, and Nicholas got to join in on. They both enjoyed yummy treats and had fun playing outside...Nicholas loved being at preschool...too bad they don't change diapers! Later that day we went Trick-or-Treating. The night started with visiting Jo, Grandpa Mark, and Uncle Skip and Brian. Then, we went to Boston and Trenton's house where the boys met up with their friends for trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. Nicholas did his trick-or-treating from the stroller, but insisted on going up to every house. The boys got lots of candy which they will be eating for months to come! We hope everyone else had a great Halloween too. 10/22/2008 The fun fall festivities have begun. The boys had pictures taken...they were supposed to just be of their Halloween costumes, but the lady convinced us to take some Fall pictures that turned out adorable (check out the pictures on the front page). We did our annual apple picking with Uncle Skip, Uncle Brian, Uncle Wil, and Grandpa Mark. We also decided to have the boys pick out pumpkins at the pumpkin patch while we were there. The boys had a great time picking apples...Matthew helped reach the high ones and Nicholas was not about to be left out of the action either...they were both GREAT apple pickers. After picking apples, we always go back to Uncle Skip and Uncle Brian's to make yummy treats with our apples and have chili (the only chili Mommy will eat)! Our Halloween festivities are about to begin now. This Saturday Nicholas has a Halloween party at My Gym and that evening is the annual "Pimp Your Pumpkin Potluck Party" at Uncle Skip and Uncle Brian's. Then, on Halloween Matthew has a Halloween Party at preschool that Mommy and Mama are volunteering at, followed by a possible trip to the new bounce-house in the area for Halloween fun and then more Halloween fun trick-or-treating either with friends or at a local organized event. Besides Fall and Halloween fun, Matthew has started back at preschool...and he LOVES it like before. He goes 3 days a week because the days he doesn't go, he has TaeKwonDo after daycare. Sadly, Gymboree had to close its doors, so we signed Nicholas up for My Gym temporarily. They have similar events such as circle time, songs, games, etc...but there is more of a gymnastics emphasis mixed in. It's lots of fun, but their schedule isn't as conducive to working parents with busy family weekends. We did add a couple of the pictures we had taken, but will add snapshots of all the fall fun soon. 9/28/2008 It was brought to our attention that the comment about needing to protect our family when we move back to Minnesota (in the story on the 27th) was not clear why. In California Matthew and Nicholas were automatically considered the legal children of both of ours. However, when we move back to Minnesota, our marriage will not be recognized and the boys will not be legally considered both of ours...it turns out a birth certificate is not a legal document of parentage, just birth. Therefore, we need to legally adopt the child we did not give birth to before we move. This is just one example of the rights afforded by marriage and why it is so important to our family and other families like ours to have marriage across the country. Speaking of marriage...Mommy and Mama got married "legally" the end of August. It was decided there would not be a large ceremony again because the wedding in Minnesota five years ago was beautiful. So, we just exchanged vows at the Hall of Records with a Justice of the Peace and Skip and Brian as our witnesses. Matthew and Nicholas got to be a part of the day by carrying the rings. 9/27/2008 It has been 2 months since we last updated the site...so, where do we begin. August was mostly downtime on the weekends after our great trip to Minnesota. Matthew finished up soccer...he didn't like it too much. It was hard for him to understand the concept of everyone running after one ball and taking it from each other. He has now started basketball. This time he is back in Redlands, where he took t-ball, and it is so far going well. The coaches in Redlands are great and Matthew gets to see Coach Dennis again! The beginning of September our schedule became much busier. We went to the LA County Fair the first weekend. Nicholas LOVED it...he especially liked looking at all the animals. The next weekend we went to a Parenting with Pride workshop, where we got some very valuable information on keeping our family protected when we move back to Minnesota. Then, on the 20th, Uncle Skip and Uncle Brian got married. It was a nice small ceremony and the boys got all dressed up. Today, we went to Playhouse Disney Live. The boys got to see their favorite cartoon characters on stage. They helped the Little Einstein's fly Rocket, Matthew did the "Hotdog Dance", and Nicholas just sat and stared in awe at the stage. After the show we went to dinner at Johnny Rockets. In all of this excitement the last month, Nicholas is fighting his 3rd sinus/ear infection. We are going to do further tests to see if there is fluid behind his ears and will hopefully see an ENT to check on the possibility of enlarged adnoids. We are just hoping to finally get to the bottom of the endless colds and relieve Nicholas of unnecessary infections. Next month our schedule isn't getting any slower. We are going to have a weekend of downtime. Then, we're going Apple Picking with Uncle Skip and Uncle Brian, have a wedding and birthday party to go to, celebrating at the annual Pimp-the-Pumpkin party at Skip and Brian's, and finally celebrating Halloween. We will try to update the website at the end of next month with the new adventures. 7-23-2008 We are in Minnesota and having a great time visiting with our family and friends! So far we went to the zoo, played at the Maple Grove MAZE, had a birthday party for Nicholas (which it POURED during...but the kids still had fun), watched the Hopkins Days Parade, and had a blast at the St. Louis Park Aquatic Center. Today we met Carrie and went out to lunch with her. The rest of our vacation will include going to see Grandma McNair's tree at the arboretum, have a BBQ at Ba's house to see Great Aunt Judy, and spend some more fun at the Maple Grove Community Center. Sunday night Mommy and Mama are going to Carrie's wedding and then we fly back to California early on Monday morning. We will be sad when it is time to leave, but we will not say "goodbye" and instead "see you later" as we will be back in November to celebrate Thanksgiving and an early Christmas. Look for pictures of our visit to Minnesota soon. 7-5-2008 With the update of pictures, comes a lot of stories to go with them! We have put up pictures of our trip to San Diego...those stories are below. We also have pictures of the 4th of July. We spent the 4th of July hanging around for most of the day. At 2:00, Joddie and her family, and Jordan and Charlotte came over for BBQ. Then, we went to the 66ers game with Joddie. We watched fireworks...the boys really watched fireworks for the first time. The boys did seem to enjoy their time at the game...playing with Tyler and Justin, watching the game. The boys loved baseball...Nicholas seemed to get impatient if they did not throw the ball fast enough...and both boys LOVED the cheerleaders and the mascot. It was our last day with Joddie, so saying good bye was hard for us. We will miss her and all that she has done for our family! With Joddie leaving, we have found two new places for our boys. Matthew has started preschool and LOVES it! On Friday, he asked if he would go to school, and we said no school today, he cried! He goes all day, and comes home with the cutest crafts. Each week (or 2) is a different theme...the last two weeks were Under the Sea-so Matthew has made fish, octopus, whales, dolphins, etc. For awhile, Matthew has been the only boy, so he has been a favorite of all of the little girls! He comes home talking about a few of them too. Matthew also seems to really like his teachers. Coming home from school, Matthew seems a lot more tired, and usually is sleeping in the back seat before we even get home. In addition, we have seen great progress at home. Matthew's speech has taken off...his teachers say that is something that they work on a lot...so even though articulation is still an issue, he seems to talk a lot more. While Matthew is at preschool, Nicholas is at Crystal's. Crystal is wonderful. Nicholas seems to be doing well there and has settled in to the new routine. There is a lot of time to play...she has a very big backyard where they spend a lot of time. Matthew will start going to Crystal's in August depending on what we can figure out with preschool. Overall, the boys have busy days...which is good. When they get home...we play play play some more and they are exhausted by bedtime! We are very excited to come home next week! We will see everyone then!
