Haley has been so excited to turn 5.  She loves the idea that she can go to school.  As I was telling her that it was her day and we could do what she likes, she said, mom we cant go to the McWane Center.  I asked her why not and she said, because I will be at school!  She then asked if they were going to give her a backpack in the morning.  I must say it brought a tear or two to my eyes.  I told her that it would be several months before she gets to go.  We tried to smooth things over by saying that we get to do a lot of fun things because she is not in school.  So here is how her 5th Birthday went.  She woke up to a groggy redition of Happy Birthday from Stephen, Heidi and I.  When she went to go find the birthday hat, she found chocoate cereal, some new spoons, a boa, make-up, yogert (the good kind) and princess place mats.  She was excited to try and read the banner that said, Happy Birthday Princess Haley.  After breakfast we got ready, and I mean, got ready.  The girls all dressed up in their favorite princess dresses.  Kate included.  Then we did up-do's complete with glitter and tons of hair bows.  We painted fingers and toes and did make-up.  She talked with Mimi and then we were off for her fun filled day.  She wanted to go and say hi to grandmother who took her on a mini shopping spree.  She also got to meet up with all her girl cousins.  I saw a lot of grinning from ear to ear.  Trust me I think she was glad she wasnt in school that day.  Then Stephen called and said we could take her out to lunch.  Well, to Stix we went!  What a yummy place and I was so glad they had a lunch menu!  We invited Faye, Patrisha, Audrey, Elena, and the boys.  We had a faboulous time.  I even heard Haley say that this was her "best day".  She loved eating with chop sticks, sitting next to her cousins, and watching the guy make the food.  At the end of the meal they brought her out some icecream with a cherry on top complete with a candle.  They put on a cute hat with a braid and took a quick pic.  Her eyes were huge when they were singing to her.  I think she loved it.  Faye invited us over after to check out the girls room (pink and purple) a must see for a princess like Haley.  We played and had a great time.  To finish off her night she chose a movie from RedBox.... Dora Super Babies Ulitimate Adventures.  Just before the movie started Luke, Josh, Leah, Jake and Claire all came to sing to her and drop off a little gift.  She fell asleep on Stephens belly.  Well, Haley we sure love you!  You have made our lives happy and bright.  We are so thankful for all you do for our family.  You are GREAT!  We love you!!!!

We had an adventerous week.  I have reciently suffered a severe burn on my wrist... ouch!  Steam hurts but I am slowly recovering.  Haley said to me the other day, mom i just lost some of my tooth.  I started looking around in her mouth to find that she had lost half of her molar.  Ouch!  I was suprised she hadnt told me it had hurt earlier.  When I took her to a local family dentist, he showed me all the decay.  He said my option was a pedieatric dentist or an oral surgon.  I set the appt with the pediatric dentist.  When we arrived the dentist informed me that the tooth was savable, she would need a root canal, and a crown!!!  I asked them to take more pics of her teeth, and they found 1 more place for a root canal and a crown and 2 cavities.  I was slightly in shock.  When I asked what was the problem, he asked me if I flossed her teeth.  I dont know about you but I had no idea 3 year olds needed to floss.  He immediatly started the root canal and crown.  I was glad, it only took him about 45 minutes.  Haley was such a trooper!  I was totally conflicted on weather I should give her laughing gas.  Any opinions?  I ended up giving it to her but most likely wont in the future.  I don't like seeing her in a loopy state, I like seeing her how she is.  It did not releive any pain.  The first thing she did after she was done was look in the mirror at her droppy face, she thought it was funny to see half her face smiling and half her face straight.  All in all we have committed to be better at flouride, floss and brushing.  Sorry haley!

Jill, I didn\'t know Haley was only 3! How far apart are all your girls? You have a whole cheerleading squad!

Oh, she is almost 5, sorry that was confusing. I was supposed to start flossing her teeth at 3 to prevent all the decay and the 2 crowns/root canals. I had no idea.

We are so excited for our upcoming little girl.  The girls first reaction was, but dont we need a brother?  They were quickly excited when I told them they could dress her up and feed her a bottle.  I have loved see how each girl has reacted.  Haley has said over and over again how excited she is. She has been carrying around a little pink outfit saying she cant wait and that she is going to be soo tiny.  Heidi is not sure what to name the baby but hopes she has red hair like her.  Kate has been so excited.  She has nodded her head yes anytime I ask her if she wants to hold the baby.  She also trys to lift up my shirt to see the baby....
I am also exicted.  When I went into my appointment I thought that I was close to 12 weeks.  I wanted to make sure that things were in the safe zone before hearing a heart beat.  The morning was a little stressful, dropping the kids off at a babysitter, and getting downtown pretty quick. They told me they tried to rescheudle my appointment but I got no such phone call, just a confirmation call.  I insisted that all I wanted was to have the ultrasound and could talk to the Dr. next time.  The ultrasound lady was oh so kind.  I told her how far along I thought I was.  She started poking around and said..."honey you are much further along than 12 weeks.  You are about 16 1/2."  So then I quickly asked her, so can I find out what I am having?  She poked and prodded a little more, and determined that it was a girl!  With my other girls it seemed somewhat clear that they wernt boys.  Well, this little one had the ambilical cord right between her legs.  So needless to say I was a little hesitant at her prediciton.  She seemed pretty sure though. We are excited to have anohter girl.  Stephen is even excited.  He is such a great daddy of little girls.  They really shower him with kisses and hugs.  He is also an expert at thowing the girls around to prepare them for cheerleading, dancing, and singing.  Following the quick appointment we headed to eat some burgers and fries at 5 Guys.  It was delicous.  Now because of my nervousness we had not told anyone that I was pregnant.   This breaking news was going to be alarming to not only us but to everyone around us.  We loved hearing peoples reactions.  It was fun telling that I was pregnant and having a girl.  I have decided that this is a girl, with all the drama surrounding her annoucing.  We love pink and we love girls.  Now we just need to come up with a cute name!

You may wonder why the Canadian Flag is our background.  Li-Ann the newest member of the Farnsworth Clan is a fellow Canadian.  She was born and raised in Vancouver.  We are so excited to have her in our family.  Her and Nate make a great couple.  We fell in love with her when we met her.  She is a warm and welcoming person that makes you feel comfortable when you are around her.  She also knows what a garbarator is.  Weldome to the Family Li-Ann!!!

Kate is growing so fast.  She loves to twirl, clap, kiss, say "Hi-di", blink, and scrunch her nose.  Heidi is speaking very clearly.  Haley can type and write her name.  She also loves calling Daddy, Mimi and Wapa on the phone.  She often leaves them messages wishing them a safe drive home.  I love my cute little family.  I am truly happy.  Stephen is the best.

"Smoke Garbage"  So this is a story that I hope I never forget.  Haley said while we were driving in the car the other day.  "Mom, that man is smoking",  she went on to say how gross it was and how it was bad for our bodies.  Then she said that he was going to be smoking until he found a smoke garbage.  She thought a little bit more and said.  "Mom if he does not find a smoke garbage then he is just going to keep it in his mouth.  What a very observant little girl.

Heidi's favorite word is "awesome" which is pretty cute coming from someone who is so calm and quite.

Kate is over 9 months.  She has 2 teeth.  She is crawling like a champ.  She is cruising the furniture and starting to let go and stand by herself.

I wanted to let everyone know.... We have officially moved in! We passed inspection and less then 6 hours later we were moved in. A big thank-you to ALL who helped us while we were in transition. We are thank-ful to Mom and Dad Norris who so graciously allowed us to come and stay at their house. We know it is not easy to have a family of five come and crash for 3 months. Thank-you to Don and Mindi who also kindly kept an eye on our children while we stayed there. Thank-you to Rachel who let us use her room. It was such a perfect space for us. Thank-you to everyone who was so excited for us and helped us along the way. Thank you to Jeffrey and Dad for letting us use so many of the tools. Thank-you to Will Tipper who got us started and gave us a vision. Thank-you to Justin and Bebe who helped us non-stop to get it done. Thank-you to our Financial Institution who loaned us the money so we could embark on this project. Thank-you to everyone who came and visited while we were working on it. Thank you to Michelle and Faye who took my kids. Thank-you to Mom Norris who always brought by lunch. Thank-you to Dad Norris for all of the insight and time that you took to help us. We are grateful for all the outside improvements that were made. We are thank-ful to the plumbers, electricians, tile guys, glass shower door guys, granite guys and the fellow Mexicans who helped us get to this day. Thank-you to Norris Injury Lawyers for allowing him to finish this house and then come to work. Thank-you to Dad also for all the help with the closets. This house is such a dream. We are so blessed to be in it. What a miracle. Well, I must say the biggest THANK-YOU goes to you babe... You are the MAN! I have no idea how you did it. I know that you said a lot of prayers and got a lot of inspiration from Him. I know He told you things you needed to know. I know He guided you everyday. I married a great guy. Babe.... YOU DID IT! You finished this what used to be a hole in the wall. It is now a beautiful creation. I realized this is the perfect way to end this Thanksgiving Day.... with my heart full of gratitude.     What a whirl wind... we have had such a great time working on this house.  Well, I guess if you ask me I say it is great.... I pick out the paint, appliances, vanities ect.  If you ask Stephen (who is doing all the work) you might get a less excited response.  We are almost done.  We hope to be in by Thanksgiving.
Life has been going great.  The girls had a great time at their birthday party.  We were excited to have Mimi here for the Royal Ball.  It was magical and I think every little girls dream.  Thank-you to all who participated.
We had a great Halloween.  The trick-or-treating was so much fun this year.  The girls really got into it and had a great time with their cousins.
Life is going well.  We are soooo blessed!
Also Stephen  is officially a part of the  Alabama State Bar. We headed to Montgomery watched Stephen take the oath.  I have high hopes for my babe.  I think he will be a great lawyer.  I know he is actually anxious to put on a suit and dress up.  He has had saw dust in his hair and paint on his skin for the past 3 months.  Thanks for all your hard work babe!  You are the best!!!!!

We have made a ton of progress on our house this week. It is really coming together! The painting is almost done. The flooring except the carpet and tile is in! Stephen and I were working on the door casings and had great time. I learned how to use a saw and nail gun. The girls and I adventured to Home Depot to get all the door casings and base molding. We were grateful for all the people who helped us load it in and out of the car. I have been so impressed with how Stephen has tackled this project. He has worked non stop since the 1st of August making this house everything it needs to be. Stephen never mentioned on his bachelor resume that he knew how to custom make a home for me. He continues to blow me away with all of his talents and abilities. I feel very blessed to have him in my life. He means the world to me!!! Thank-you babe! I love you!

So I asked Haley this morning (9-15-08) "Why do I have such cute girls?"  She said, "Because you want them."  She is right.... I love my girls to death.
Haley has been very adventerous and bold reciently.  She asked Stephen at chruch if she could bear her testimony.  With the new rules parental assistance is not recommended so I was a little nervous at her abilites to give her testimony.  Well, I was blown away.  She went up and sat on the stand.  When it was her turn she got up and bore her testimony.  "I like to bear my testimony......(long pause) I know this church is true.... (long pause) I love my family......(long pause)  I love the prophet.....(longest pause)..... AMEN."  We were soooo proud of her.  What a great example.
We had the ward talent show this past Saturday.  We as a family sang "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton.  Stephen played the guitar and sang.  I held Kate and had Heidi close by and we handed Haley a microphone.  We started and Haley was not singing so we started over.  It was adorable.  Haley did a great job.  Heidi must have been nervous because she kept lifiting up her shirt.  We had a great time and glad we participated.

Soooo... on our way home from Colorado we were trying to figure out where to live....  As we were leaving we decided to buy a house that we had never seen.  We had bought the house before we had even seen it.  We were excited to design the insides that were completley "demo"ed.  Before we could even think about the house and all the renovations we had to pack up and move out of Tuscaloosa by the 31st of July and Stephen had to finish studying for the bar and take the bar.  After packing for over a week with 3 kids, Mom Norris came to the rescue and took the girls to have some fun.  We all headed down to Montgomery for 3 days.  Stephen stayed in a hotel while he took the bar and we stayed with Cindy and Cameron.  We had a great time going to the zoo and the outdoor mall.  Thanks for all the fun!!!!  Since the bar we have been working with a contractor to fix up our digs.  From the pics you see there is no kitchen, no toilets, and a lot of mess.  We are working on the house like crazy to get it done as fast as we can.  It is a great project to undertake.  When looking at the pics understand that it does have a lot of potential.  We are excited to say the least to see how it will turn out.

Ok... So a lot has been happening.  Not only has our internet been down, we have been sooo busy.  First of all..... Here are all of our travels in the car this summer.....  We traveled by car to all of these places... in a matter of a month.  First we went from Tuscaloosa to Birmingham.  Then we went up to North Carolina, to Williamsburg, VA.  Then we headed to Denver for a night.  Woke up and headed to Provo, UT for a night then to Rexburg, ID for 5 days.  My mom picked us up in ID and we headed up to Calgary (14 hours) where we stayed for 5 days and headed back to Provo for a night.  Then we headed back to Denver to meet up with Stephen for 2 weeks.  We then headed back to Tuscaloosa to pack up and move out.  I will have to figure out how many hours and miles that is.... I know it was a ton but it was soooo fun.  So I must say it can be done with 3 little kids in car seats.  Thank you to all who helped!!!!!

Well, life is definelty not slow and boring!  We have had quite a great summer.  One of my favorite stories of the summer is from Haley.  She was sitting on my mom's bed and said, Mimi, my bum is getting big.  Slightly caught of guard my mom said, Haley why do you say that?  Haley said because my underware are getting smaller.  We are grateful she is so observant.

We have not died. We are just traveling around the nation. We spent a couple nights in North Carolina with one of Stephens friends from his mission, the Browns. We had a great time. We passed by Spartenburg where BMW's are made and ended up in Williamsburg VA for a the Hickman Family Reunion. We had a great time playing at the indoor water park. Straight from the reunion we drove with Christy out west. Well, it was unbelievable. Our goal was to make it to my parents house in Denver. We drove straight for 30 hours in the car from VA to CO. What a haul. The girls were absolutely amazing. We sang several rounds of the working song from Enchanted. I personally fell in love with a song by jordan sparks called one step at a time. Well, I did my best to stay awake while driving through the night. I even resorted to pouring water on my head and letting it slowly drip down my face. We made it safely and started our next day refreshed thanks to Kylee. We had a great night sleep, a yummy breakfast and great company in CO thanks guys!!!! We then headed to UT to pick up a few things at Christy's apartment and then headed to our final destination Rexburg ID!!!! We were soooo excited to say the least to meet baby Taylor and baby Megan!!!! We had a blast meeting these two cousins. We got to tour around rexburg, taste some yummy Craigos pizza, sleep on a KING size air mattress and eat some of Roses yummy enchiladas! Thanks Rose for letting us hang out with y'all for a few days! We cant wait until y'all come to Alabama! Our partying doesnt end there. Mimi came off her week long alaskan cruise and met up with us in ID. Then the girls- who are officially world travelers- headed up to Canada. We made it just in time for Canada Day! We had a great time at a ward party complete with cotton candy, blow up gyms, hotdogs, missionaries with canadian flag ties, face painting, horse rides, "fishing" and a live band under a tent with chairs. We also had a great time seeing everyone's places in Calgary. We are sooo blessed. I will post pics when I see Stephen again. Have a great week. Reporting from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.... this is Jill : )
