3-14-10 Bailey got to do a first with me lastnight. It's kinda sad when I actually realized it was her first or at least with me. We made chocolate chip cookies! She loved it! I put the sugar canister right in front of her thinking she could use the spoon inside the container to scoop into the 1 cup measuring cup...yup sugar all over the floor!! She just whipped that spoon out not thinking anything about it...I'm really not use to kids helping. I like to do things and get them done quicker, but I'm hoping that will change. We had 2 eggs to crack. I told her to hit it on the counter and then I helped her open it and drop it in the bowl. I turned for honestly 3 seconds to put the shell in the garbage and looked back and she had already cracked the second egg and completly smooshed the shell trying to get it in the bowl. So funny!! She is very independant. She knew if she waited I would be there to help and she does not want that! Thankfully we did the eggs in a seperate bowl! ;) Most of her rolled cookies turned into hot dog cookies so when she got down from helping I balled them up. Paige got to help daddy in the garage with his motorcycle. She loves to spend time with dad. She got to have her own can of Mountain Dew and that never happends around here! Now today she is at her friend Becca's house for a play date. It's kinda funny that she calls it that!

We had our first incident at school on Friday. She came home very sad and I asked her what was wrong and she started crying and crying and said I was going to be very mad. I was clueless...what could a 6 yr old do at school that would make me that upset???? She wrote the word "moose" on her desk before her spelling test. She said the boy next to her wrote it on his desk and she was going to write it on her name tag, but he told her to write it on her desk. That was a big part of the story to her...not known to her where ever you write it, it is still cheating...we had to get into that also! I'm sure she learned her lesson. She is a very good girl and listens to the teachers. We have never had 1 bad thing said about her from any of her teachers. I'm just glad she got caught when she did, now she knows she cannot get away with it! The teacher wrote us a note telling us what she did and even said, "She is so good. I'm sure it will not happen again." Oh Paige...............

I think I will take a trip to goodwill today. It has been awhile! Shane absolutly HATES when I go there!! He thinks only people that don't have money go there...completely wrong!! I don't care how much money anyone has, you should always try to save money, so you have more money! And anyway goodwill is actually an expensive garage sale to me and I love garage saling also! Can't wait until it is that season again! :)

Oh Paige, hopefully she learned her lesson to not always listen to the other kids. Just think mom, it could have been alot worse. And little Miss Independent Bailey, glad you like making cookies and dumping and stirring. Gotta teach them young so they cook and bake when they are older

3-11-10  Is spring actually coming? I can't believe that!! It seems it has been years that snow is over before April!! But just maybe we'll be lucky this year! Bailey's birthday is coming up soon. I can't believe that she will be 3. She seems too little to me!! Still like a baby...probably because she is my baby! We went shopping last weekend and just had Bailey walk around the toy aisle to see what she would pick out. We really have NO idea what we should get her for her birthday. She gravitated towards the strangest things... an elmo microwave that had like 5 buttons on it and it talked and the inside tray would turn and this green guy that I guess is from Yo Gabba Gabba. It swung its arms and started singing a song saying yo yo yo. I thought maybe she would want a set like littlest pet shop or something like that. I thought Paige was into that on her 3rd birthday.

Paige starts swimming lessons in a couple weeks. Two nights a week. She will love it! This year she will finally be in the big pool the whole time and learn real strokes! It will be good for her! She is reading soooo well. She can pick up almost any kid book and read it to her sister. Bailey really depends on her! She was invited to her first sleepover already!! I don't think she will be spending the night, but she will be able to go for awhile. I don't know what age is a good age to start that, but right now Shane and I both don't feel comfortable with it and I'm sure Paige would also back out when it came down to it!!

We're heading to Breezy Point in a couple weeks. It will be a nice relaxing break!! The girls are going to G'pa and G'mas so they will be having fun also!

Bailey decided a couple nights ago that she was not a baby anymore and she did not need a fire at bedtime and naptime. We were shocked!! She would never wake up with it in her mouth  so I think it just turned into a habit. Now she cries almost everynight because she doesn't want a diaper on because she is not a baby!! I am not ready for that! She is dry almost every night...but I don't think it is time. Nap time she wears undies. She feels like a big girl now!!

1-15-10  Paige has her first piano recital tomorrow. She is playing Yankee Doodle and then just a song that is from her Technic book. She doesn't seem nervous at all right now...I hope that will continue. I don't remember being nervous for a recital at her age either, but I guess I don't remember those recitals!! ;) All I remember is being in about 3rd grade and being so nervous. This last Christmas we watched some old home videos and that sure did show. Everyone watching you as you walk up to the piano, getting seated, and then opening the books to the right pages. Geez.. it felt like forever!

Tonight we were watching American Idol and you know how Randy always says, "Man, you got skills!" Well Bailey heard that and laughed and said " He said he's got skittles!" Boy was that cute. Those skittles that I got for her as an incentive to keep her glasses on sure have an impact on her. She has been doing better with her glasses this past week, but we still are struggling more than we did at first.

We have been watching the High School Musical movies. We have only watched #1 and 2 so far. Those movies are pretty good. Paige just loves them and Bailey can't wait until they sing again. As soon as they start singing she jumps out of my lap and starts dancing. She does the same move everytime. Winds up with her arm at her chest and then spins and ends up on the ground everytime. Maybe she will be the dancer. Paige would rather sing than dance. She tried the dance thing, but turned out she was not into that!

We haven't been doing much lately. Just working. It's tough getting back into the swing of things after all the holidays. Just glad that Friday seems to come soon!

I added some pictures from Christmas time that Brie took. She seems to get so many good ones!

12-26-09 We all had a great Christmas. Spent three days with family and had a lot of fun!! The girls enjoyed opening their presents. They loved everything they got. Some of Paige's gifts were a radio alarm clock with nightlight, laptop, legos, bakugans, pillow, blanket, some pretty neat games...the list goes on and on...there are so many new toys in this house! Bailey got a new baby that she named Jesus, more babys, stroller, carseat, tinkerbell couch, legos, undies, littlest pet shop...and this list goes on and on also. Time to go through the old toys in our house!!! Shane and I got a Garmin that we have needed wanted for sooooo long, a very nice coffee pot (no more reasons to spend $1.29 every morning...Shane ;) , and also some very much needed nice bedding.

Santa showed up at our daycare Christmas party. The kids were pretty shocked! Paige was the only one that willingly sat on his lap.... Bailey and Chloe were bribed with an extra candy cane! Oh, what candy will do! Santa also  showed up at G'pa and G'ma Bergh's. Bailey was upset that he did not have candy canes!! Kinda confusing when that was what he brought to daycare .

I hosted my first holiday this Christmas and it went very well. It kinda helps get myself motivated to clean those not so important nooks and crannys of the house. We got most of the "To Do" list done. ;) Now only to clean everything again!!

Looking forward to another 3 day weekend to start the new year!

11-23-09 Bailey is starting potty training now. She has lots of interest, hope that will continue!! Today she did the funniest thing!! I set her on the potty and then someone came to the door so I told her to sit there and go potty. I went to the door and returned to the bathroom about 2 minutes later and Bailey was just walking out of the door with her pull-up at her ankles and her pants in hand. She looked at me all proud and said, "Mommy, I wipe my butt myself!!" I looked in the bathroom and about half of the toilet paper roll was on the floor in a bundle!!! It was funny how proud she was of that! Today she wore the same pull-up all day long and never went in them. This evening she even asked me twice to go potty and she did. I am so proud of her. She even got to eat on the special "Today is all about me day!" plate for snack. She loved that.

When I was putting Bailey to bed tonight we were looking at eachother, and she just stared in one of my eyes. She said, "What is in your eye?" I said, "I don't know, what is it?" She said, "A picture of me." I couldn't believe that she could actually see that and know what it was. Funny! After awhile of looking at my eye she said, "I don't like it." I had to look away quick because I don't want her to be afraid of my eyes!! :) She is afraid of a lot of things, it is always, "I don't like that man" or "That man scare me". That is all she needs to be afraid of my eyes!

Paige picked out a song from her patriotic and Christmas piano books  to play at a recital in January. I went through both books and played each song for her so she could pick which ones she liked the best. So far it is America and Jingle Bells. She can play Yankee Doodle from memory now. Very impressive!! She is looking forward to her break from school for Thanksgiving. We are going to G'pa and G'ma Karnes's for Thanksgiving. The buns are made and in the freezer! Both girls are staying overnight and G'pa and G'ma Bergh Thanksgiving night so I can get some great deals on Black Friday EARLY!! It should be fun though. Then they are going to G'pa and G'ma Jensen's Friday night, so I think Shane and I will try to get some Christmas shopping done since we have not started at all yet!
