11-3-09 Halloween was a lot of fun this year! Both Paige and Bailey loved going trick-or-treating. Paige was at first a scary witch. Shane painted her face and she was all excited until she looked in the mirror! It was the cutest thing ever. She went in the bathroom to look at herself and she quickly sat on the floor and almost started crying saying "I'm too scared, take it off!" I would have never guessed that would happen! We did take her makeup off shortly after that and she said, "Mom, will come and look in the mirror with me because I am scared to look at myself." She covered her face and peaked through the cracks of her fingers slowly and then was very pleased to see her self again! She ran out of the bathroom and said "Look at me Bailey, see I'm not scary." Bailey was also relieved that the scary witch was gone! She kept on saying, "I want Paige to go in her room." Poor things!!! I had no idea it was going to be that scary or we would not have even attempted it! She did look quite scary though- check out the picture! Bailey enjoyed being tinkerbell and Paige decided that she would be something pretty from now on. ;)
Both Paige and Bailey got ochies while trick-or-treating, nothing major, but they required bandaids. Regarding this I have the cutest story to tell. Bailey want to show her owie to Shane in the morning- it went like this.
Bailey to Dad - "Look at my owie."
Mom - "Don't take your bandaid off because we don't have anymore."
Bailey - "Ok."
Mom to Paige - "How are your owies?"
Paige - "My bandaids fell off during the night."
Bailey to Paige - "Oh my gosh Paige, we not got more bandaids!"
It was just so funny how quickly Bailey reacted to Paige!! She was soooooo concered that the bandaids were gone! I love those funny little moments. :)
10-13-09 We have been batteling sicknesses since last Sunday. It has been horrible!!!! Shane was the first to get sick, then Paige, then myself all on Sunday, and Bailey decided to wait and get sick after everyone else was getting better last week. I brought Bailey to the clinic yesterday because she worries me so much how she can play one minute and then be just laying on the couch the next minute. She tested positive for Influenza A which they are considering H1N1. What a horrible sickness!! :( She is on Tamiflu and Augmentin for an ear infection to go along with it. She is one sick girl. Paige never tested positive for Influenza when I brought her in so I guess that means she could get sick again. We're crossing our fingers that this is almost done with for the season! Because of everyone being sick we missed the Bergh Thanksgiving :( and saying good-bye to G'pa and G'ma Bergh as they headed off to Arizona on Monday for the winter. (We got the leftovers so we didn't miss out completely!)
Paige is enjoying piano lessons. I am very impressed at how well she is doing. She does not have to look at her fingers at all once she starts playing a song! I think I have always struggled with that! It is so fun to listen to her practice and see how excited she is when she makes no mistakes. Bailey is already getting ready for piano lessons ;) She sat at a lesson with me a few weeks back and we could hear Paige and the teacher counting as Paige was playing. Now Bailey will tap her fingers on the table and say "quarter, quarter, half note" I love it!!
Paige's fundraising stuff comes in today. I'm excited as that the braided bread will be my birthday cake!! As soon as I heard pick-up day was my birthday, I had it all planned out! Just hope the fam is up to eating it also!!
9-25-09 It has been awhile since an update. Paige is really enjoying school. The first day was horrible before she got to school as she was very nervous and was going to miss her mom because she couldn't see me for sooooo long! :) Yeah right, when she is home she wants nothing to do with me! I think it might just be easier for her to pin point her nervousness on that rather than trying to figure out why she really gets so nervous. She just has her mama's genes! One of my traits that I hoped none of my kids would get. At least she has been easing up on her fears of storms for now. Paige also started piano lessons and is really enjoying that. I can't believe how much needs to get done in the evening each night....homework, piano, and reading. It really almost takes up the whole night and then it is time for bed! Bailey had her eye appointment today in Willmar. I was looking forward to this as we did not get any answers when we went back for her check up in the cities. This Dr. did see that her eyes are still crossing, but are still sooooo much better than before, but still crossing an unexceptable amount. She is going to have glasses again with bi-focals. We went today to find her a pair. They are so cute!! I just hope this works, and of course if it doesn't then they will do another eye alignment surgery. It is not uncommon that the first surgery does not correct it 100%, so some kids do have to wear glasses after it and some will have to have another surgery. We will see what happends. We are having a garage sale this weekend at Josh and Brie's. So we are busy, busy, busy. 8-21-09 Paige has been busy riding her bike! The first day we got her out there she was doing it all by herself. She loves it!! Everynight she asks to go again and we pretty much have except for the days the weather was bad. Holly is a great teacher and is getting lots of practice for when she has her own kiddos! G'pa and G'ma just bought a convertable and the kids got to go on a ride the first day. Boy were they excited! It is called the DQ car since they say it is for taking Barney to the Dairy Queen. We'll have to see if it is for the dog or REALLY for them!! :) I'll have to say, it really was fun. The last time I was in a convertable was when G'ma Karnes took me to a Little House on the Praire play in their corvette. I was probably 13???? So long ago, but that was fun! A memory that I will never forget. Especially all of the random waves that we got from people because we were in the corvette!! Remember that G'ma?!?!?! The kids are staying overnight at G'pa and G'ma's this weekend. It seems we have had so many babysitters lately for them. Not even that we have asked anyone, G'pa and G'ma's have just been asking like crazy and we love it!! The kids enjoy it too. I think they like getting out of the house to a new atmosphere sometimes. Paige got her teacher in the mail today. It is Mrs. Dunham. I have not heard of her, but I am sure she will be great! She has open house on the 1st. She is so concerend that she will not know where her class is so we will be making many walks from the front door to her classroom to make her feel more comfortable. Bailey is busy, busy, busy and I am loving every minute of it! I think when you know it is your last child, you cherish all of those little moments more and more. I tell her that she can't grow up and she has to stay 2 forever. She tells me "I don't grow up. I 2 ever." I tell her to say forever over and over agin and she won't. She says 2 ever. I'm sure to her it sounds like 4 ever and she is not 4, she is 2!! Last night I tucked her in bed and as I walked out of her door I said,"I love you Bailey" and she said "Mom, I'm Peanut" So I had to say "I love you Peanut." That made her happy!! Sometimes she gets in these moods where you have to call her peanut. She even tells the daycare kids to call her that sometimes and they think that is so funny! 8-16-09 This was the first weekend in 5 weeks that the boat hasn't gotten any use. It was nice to be home, but we sure missed being at the lake!! I can't believe all week was beautiful weather and then the weekend hit and it was ugly outside! We didn't really know what to do with ourselves because most of the work that needs to be done at home, needed to be done outside. We went to the mall for a few hours today to check things out. It seems we never go there so we thought that would give us something to do. The kids enjoyed getting out of the house! I made 4 batches of buns today for Grandpa's 70th birthday party. Started at 4 and got done at 8!! Feels good to have it done. Of course 2 of those batches are for us, since the bread machines were out I had to get use out of them! There is nothing like Grandma's buns!! It is hard to have a store bought bun after having these! Our plan for the next few weeks is to get Paige out on her bike. We have friends that have kids that are pros on their bikes and Paige has to tell them that she still has training wheels!! That is our fault. We never let her ride her bike. I always think that since our lawn is fenced in, it is so much nicer than being in the front, but that means she doesn't get a chance to ride her bike! Last year she was going to go out to G'pa and G'ma's and try to learn since they have a long driveway, but as soon as it was time for that she broke her ankle on the trampoline!! This year lets hope all goes well with learing with no training wheels. Daycare has been busy this past month. I am finally full!!! It is nice, but VERY busy! The day seems to go by quick with all the kids around. Shane starts softball this Tuesday. The kids and I will hopefully make it to most of the games. Paige would enjoy watching her dad play!
