Stories 4/17 It has been an absolutely BEAUTIFUL spring so far here in Wisconsin!! Friday was the first day of Spring Break and it was close to 80 degrees!! So we started our Easter celebrating by having an Easter Egg hunt in our backyard. Joey did a GREAT job and loved picking up the eggs and putting them in his basket. Joey and Mommy also dyed Easter eggs. When Joey tried one, though, he really didn't like it. On Friday we also went to Grandma Sherry's and had a really fun time. Daddy said that Joey was "very entertaining!" Then on Saturday, Mommy and Daddy went to church and Joey got to play with Auntie Alanna. Daddy was baptized, confirmed and had communion. It was a fun day also. Finally on Sunday we went to Grandma Scott's house for Easter. Joey had TONS of fun with Michael and Jenny, and he really missed his cousin Matthew! It was a great weekend!! 3/16 Joey got to play in the snow for the second time! He really seemed to enjoy it. Of course, riding in his sled was a lot of fun. He giggled when daddy and mommy had a snowball fight. He also went down the small hill in his sled ALL BY HIMSELF!! He laughed all the way down the hill. Joey, Daddy, and Mommy all had a blast playing in the snow!! 3/11 Joey had an echocardiogram done because both his first doctor and current one have thought they heard a heart murmer. Super Joey didn't fall asleep, even after his special medicine to help him do so! So he had the test done without being sedated, and he did great! The test results came out good, and there is no other testing needed to be done. Joey's heart is A-OK!! 2/20/06 Joey had his 15 month appointment today. He is now 25 lbs and 32 inches. Joey has been ear infection free for two months now! But we are making the appointment with the pediatric opthamologist to have his blocked tear ducts looked at. Hopefully he will not need surgery!! 1/21/06 Joey FINALLY got to play in the snow for the first time!! Wisconsin had a lot of snow in December, but it was also pretty cold. The couple of times it snowed when it was warmer, Joey had ear infections. So FINALLY, we were to go out and have fun! Joey wasn't quite sure about walking in the snow. He loved when mommy threw it into the air and it fell all around him. But he ABSOLUTELY loved when daddy pulled him around in his sled. He was giggling and laughing and really enjoyed going around in circles! 12/25/05 Merry Christmas Everyone!!! We had a great Christmas here! It warmed up a bit, so we weren't freezing when we went everywhere. Grandma Sherry came over for Christmas Eve dinner and then Joey had his first round of presents. Santa came, so Joey opened more gifts in the morning. Then, we went to Aunt Cindee's for round three! Joey must have been a very good boy this year, since he sure made a haul!! We also went to Christmas mass at Grandma Scott's church where she sings in the choir, and Joey was extremely well behaved because Jesus was watching him extra closely there! We hope everyone had a beautiful, fun, and joyous Christmas with family and friends. 12/11/05 Joey is now thirteen months old. Thankfully, he has been ear infection free since the weekend of his birthday. So, he is now an official FULL TIME WALKER!! Joey loves to walk down the hallway the best. It is a nice straight shot, with none of those difficult turns. He has moved to the toddler room at the day care center, and seems to like it. Joey is doing great! 12/2/05 Joey saw Santa Claus for the first time today! Although he really wasn't so sure about sitting on his lap! He had a very quick visit, since he squirmed and wanted to go back by Mommy and Daddy. He's sure to like seeing Santa more next year! 11/24 Joey's Second Thanksgiving! Last year on Thanksgiving, Joey was only two weeks old! Dinner was at our house this year, and mommy and daddy were busy cleaning and cooking all morning and early afternoon until Grandma and Grandpa Scott and most of Joey's Aunts and Uncles came over. Matthew and Joey played well together. Joey ate the big people food...he had turkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing, bread, hmmm, what else??? He enjoyed the feast a lot! 11/14 Joey had his one year well baby check-up. He is now 22lb, 12 oz and is 30.75 inches tall. He is tall for his age, we don't know where he gets that from...mommy is 5'3" and daddy is 5'6"! The doctor is happy with his development. We need to watch his tearing eye and those ears that are getting infections this fall! Other than that, Joey is doing GREAT! 11/11/05 Today is Joey's First Birthday!! He is not feeling very well, though. Joey has another ear infection. But we have medicine now, so hopefully he will be all better by his birthday party on Saturday. He is taking a few steps to go into mommy's arms. He pointed to mommy and said "Mama," then immediately after pointed to daddy and said "Dada." Joey brings so much joy to mommy and daddy's lives and we are so proud of him! Happy Birthday Joseph Lee! 10/31/05 Joey had a very exciting Halloween weekend. On Friday, Joey celebrated Halloween with his friends at the day care center. He dressed up in his pumpkin suit before he went to school! On Saturday, Daddy and Joey carved the pumpkin and put a funny face on it. On Sunday, Mommy and Joey went Trick-or-Treating with his friends, Jenna, Julia, and Kyle. Monday was Trick-or-Treating in Muskego, so he helped pass out the candy. It was a very exciting weekend!! 10/28/05 Joey got his very first haircut today!! He looked like such a big boy in the barber chair. And Joey did great! He hardly squirmed at all. Tim, the barber, put in a Baby Einstein video, and Joey watched it while his hair was cut. Our big boy is certainly getting big. In two weeks, Joey will be turning one year old. 10/18/05 Joey is getting ALL FOUR of his top front teeth in right now, all at the same time! He will finally have more than two on the bottom, but he sure isn't happy about them coming in. Mommy and Daddy want them to come in really fast so he can be happy again!! 10/11/05 Joey is 11 months old today. Just one month until he turns one! Where has the time gone. He can now stand for about thirty seconds but isn't quite walking yet. He does walk behind his push toys. Correction: Joey almost runs behind his push toys. Can't believe the little guy will be one year old in 31 days!! 10/8/05 Daddy, Mommy, and Joey went to the pumpkin farm today! We took a hayride out to the patch. Along the ride there was some spooky Halloween decorations! When we got to the pumpkin patch, Mommy and Daddy looked for the best pumpkin for Joey's first Jack-O-Lantern! We can't wait to carve it!! 9/11 Joey is 10 months old today! He is now able to stand for about 30 seconds on his own, but only when he wants too! Because Mommy is back to teaching, he is now at a day care center full time. He seems to like it there. This weekend Joey has his first cold though, so he is not himself. Awww, Daddy & Mommy can't wait for Joey to feel better! 8/27 Joey went to the zoo for the second time today! This time Daddy, Mommy and Joey met some other babies there! Jenna was there also, along with his new friends Malachi and Lakota. Everyone ate lunch together in the ape house, and then walked around the zoo together till it closed! It was a long, exhausting, but really fun day! 8/25 Today was Joey's last day of going to playgroup and his last day of summer vacation. Tomorrow he starts at the day care center full time! He seems to like it there so far! So for Joey's last day of playgroup, all of the kids and moms played at the park! There was swinging and slides. Joey LOVED the slides and liked the swings, as long as Mommy kept on reminding him that she was right there. Mommy is going to miss Joey so much during the day when she is teaching!!! 8/18 Joey had his nine month doctor appointment today. He is now 20 lbs and 15 oz. He is also 29.25 inches long. Joey has a new doctor since we moved as well as his doctor. His doctor is very nice, and made Joey giggle and gave him a tongue depressor to hold when he got a little squirmy. The doctor said that Joey looks very strong for being nine months old and that we can now go to three baby food meals a day and get some table foods in there also. Way to Grow Joey!!
