The Gooden family came to visit from Arkansas. The boys really enjoyed having their best friends in for a few days. I am fairly sure they played with every toy, game, or costume in the house. We really need to all get together more often.

Last weekend we went to Lake Gaston for my end of year gymnastics celebration. They boys had fun riding jet skis (with grown ups of course), riding towables, and also riding on the motor boats. Both were working on the swimming abilities and Jacob was even willing to jump off the dock. Joshua really enjoyed getting to play with the big kids and Jacob had a blast with the powerwheels.

The boys went bowling at one of my gymnast's birthdays. They did really well considering they had bumpers and Jacob used a slide to help him. They really enjoyed it and are asking to go bowling again.

Mr. John came home for r and r so we loaded up and went to Savannah for the week. We really enjoyed our time on Tybee Island and walking downtown Savannah. The boys have learned that they really like seafood to include salmon, shrimp, and crab legs. I wonder what other adventures the summer has to offer us...

Christmas was an ongoing adventure this year. The boys went to their Dad's to celebrate with his family and their Ma and Pa, their dad's parents, who came to see them. Then I picked them up Christmas Day and we celebrated Christmas at my house and the next day we went to celebrate with the cousins. Now Oma and Opa, my parents, are down for a visit.

For Thanksgiving we went to our cousins' house. The boys had so much fun seeing the family and then we went to see Arthur Christmast in 3D at the movie theatre. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Our beloved Mr. John deployed just prior to Halloween so the boys dressed up like Spider-Man and Captain America to say goodbye. They decided that if he was in uniform they should be too.

We went to Wilmington for Jacob's birthday. We had a blast at Happy Days eating cupcakes and icecream to celebrate with our family.

For Memorial Day Weekend we went to Charlotte to see the Coca Cola 600. We went to the race a little bit early and played in the bouncy castles and the petting zoo and watched the ultimate dogs jump in the water to fetch toys. The boys were able to see Lightening McQueen on the track and enjoyed the beginning of the race. We left after lap 30 and headed to the hotel to go swimming. In the morning we went to the Discovery Place, a science children's museum. They loved it and had a blast. This may be on of their favorite weekends for awhile.

The boys kindly reminded me it was May and I promised them their pool in May. We blew it up in the back yard and they had a blast swimming in it. Now if it can just stay sunny :)

We went to the 1st Annual Fayetteville Duck Derby. The boys each had a duck in their name to be dropped into the Cape Fear River and then it was a race to the finish. Unfortunately after two hours of enjoying the festivites we needed a nap and missed the Derby itself. They had a blast and we can't wait to do it next year.

We went to the Dogwood Festival and had a blast playing in the bouncy castles and Joshua had his face painted like SpiderMan. We rapped up the day with ice cream at Dairy Queen and then made home made pizzas...yummy!

Wow, Spring is here! The boys have had blast playing outside since it warmed up these last few weeks. There was a cold snap there for a few days and it didn't stop them, they just lugged out their winter coats and hats and went back outside to play. Now if it could just warm up enough that we could go swimming...

Christmas was very busy for the boys this year. They spent Christmas Eve and morning with their dad and opened all the presents Santa brought them. Then it was off to E and K's house to open presents with Meg, Kyle, Alex, and Zach. The they came back to mommy's to open gifts with Oma,Opa, Uncle Mike, Aunt Nichelle, and Mr. Patrick. They had a blast and really enjoyed the books, movies, and toys they were given. They enjoyed them so much that Jacob went to bed at 6:45!

We are gearing up for Christmas. We went to K and E's house tonight to bake cookies with Alex for Santa and then we went home to see Oma,Opa, Uncle Mike, Aunt Nichelle and her Patrick and Ruger the dog. Now there are 2 giant chocolate labs running through the house. We opened our Christmas jammies that K bought us and our new toys to match. Jacob got Cars and a Lightening McQueen and Joshua got Toy Story and a Buzz Lightyear. Thank you!

We celebrated Thanksgiving at Karen and Eric's house this year. Our cousins Meg, Alex, and Zach came to see us and brought Kyle. We had a blast helping to cook dinner and then playing our hearts out.

We had a very busy summer! This summer we have traveled to Ohio to see our Grandparents. While we were there, we went to the Columbus Zoo with our close friends, Shannon, Connor, and Deacon. We had a lot of fun at the Bratwurst Festival an realy enjoyed the parades, even in the rain.

Christmas Eve we spent with Jay's parents and the boys had piles of presents as high as their heads...no spoiled children here. Christmas Day we spent opening presents at home then going to Karen and Eric's house for a big family dinner. Unfortunately the boys stayed up late looking for Santa and did not nap well so they were a bit grouchy. Jacob took a late nap and Josh went to bed at 7:30...now if the quiet will last.

We spent Thanksgiving with the boys grandparents and cousins. The boys had a blast and stuffed themselves with yummy food.

The boys went trick or treating this Saturday with some friends. Joshua started the evening as a cat burgler and finished the evening as a bumble bee. Jacob was a skunk because he is such a little stinker but after stealing kisses and snuggling with a dalmation he became a lost boy from Peter Pan. We pulled them around in their wagon until Josh decided to pull- he is quite the little tug boat. They had fun and we enjoyed ourselves too.
