On Friday, it was hot. Kaitlyn went with me to do some shopping at the mall for birthday presents and ended up with a few new outfits herself. She loved that. She went with me to the fabric store, our favorite place and then we went to her friend Caden's last day of Kindergarten celebration at a bounce house place with lots of bounce houses and giant slides. She had a blast, enjoyed her pizza and was a very tired girl when we left.
We picked Daddy up from work and then headed to the hospital to visit Papa. Kaitlyn was a pretty good little girl for the couple of hours we were there. I was very proud of her.
From the hospital, our awesome friends Dorin and Nicole took us out to dinner with their son Dominick to celebrate my birthday. Yay for great friends. We had a blast and Kaitlyn was asleep before I could even get her buckled all the way in her car seat.
On Saturday morning I ran to the mall for one last thing while Kaitlyn played with Daddy and Grandma and her butterflies. She loves talking to her butterflies, when I ask her what they are talking about she tells me that she's teaching them stuff. It's really cute.
We spent a couple of hours in the pool, enjoying the heat before coming in and showering to get ready. Saturday night we went to the grown-up dinner and Kaitlyn and Camaryn went to Nana and Papa's. Papa was out of the hospital and I'm sure both girls had a lot more fun playing at their house than they would have at dinner or than they did in the hospital. Mommy and Daddy had a ton of fun and when we went to pick up Kaitlyn, you could tell she did too!
On Sunday, we woke up nice and leisurely. We took Daddy to Nana and Papa's house, and then went to Taveon's birthday party! Kaitlyn had so much fun playing with Taveon and Dominick and of course beating the pinata with a stick! From there, we headed to get Daddy and go to the cemetery. Kaitlyn was asleep the entire time. We added new flowers, some toys she had picked out for Matthew, new pinwheels and fixed the flags.
After the cemetery, we came back to Grandma and Grandpa's where Daddy made some delicious chicken that Kaitlyn just could not get enough of and then we went to sleep!
Our plans for today include Gymnastics and dinner at Auntie Barbara and Uncle Dean's house. We hope everyone has a great day!
Kaitlyn is very excited to announce that her caterpillars are now butterflies!
This morning, she went straight to them and started running through the house "They are butterflies!! The cacoons are butterflies!!" and through the day has insisited on calling people to tell them!
I was so dissapointed. I thought I had left my camera cord at the hotel in San Francisco and couldn't upload pictures :( But, then I realized, I didn't lose it, it's the same one that I use for my camcorder :P Silly me!
This has been a fun week. On Tuesday, we went to see Kung Fu Panda with Sarah and Kayla. Kaitlyn loved it! She's been talking about it all the time. It's funny, Kaitlyn loves to watch scary, gory movies with the lights off, but during the two "scary" parts in Kung Fu Panda, she said it was so scary she had to go potty :P Silly goose.
Tuesday night we got to play and hang out with Daddy :)
On Wednesday, we waited for my car to be finished. When it finally was, we walked down to get it and felt the cool breeze of air conditioning. We ended up having a late lunch with daddy. Wednesday afternoon, we went and saw Papa in the hospital. Kaitlyn is sending him lots of "feel better" wishes :)
Wednesday night we saw Auntie Jamie and Uncle Joel at their softball game! Kaitlyn had a blast with her friend Mason and Mason the puppy dog. She had such a fun and busy day, we were barely out of the parking lot of the ball field before she was fast asleep!
Yesterday was fun. Kaitlyn and I had lunch with Daddy, sent off Gracelynn's birthday present, visited the cemetery and then came back home to wash the cars before Daddy got home. When daddy got home it was time for swimming!! Yay for swimming! Kaitlyn is a pretty good swimmer. We insist on her wearing the floaties or her "floating" swimsuit, but sometimes daddy lets her take them off. She can easily swim to me at the opposite end of the pool and back. Daddy has been doing a really good job teaching her how to use her feet to kick and arms to move :)
Today we are going to do some shopping and go to Caden's Kindergarten party at the bounch house place :) Kaitlyn is so excitied!
Over the last week and a half Kaitlyn has mastered story telling and asks everyone if they want to hear a story about her favorite characters and draws the best butterflies! Her caterpillars made themselves into cacoons last Saturday, so we are anxiously waiting for them to become butterflies. She wants to be the butterfly mommy and take care of them "forever and ever" she keeps telling us! She's also started wanting to teach Archie new tricks. She loves him so much and he is so good to her. They rest together and Kaitlyn cuddles with him to tell him stories. A kid and their dog, what an amazing story.
We're home! Nothing welcomes you home better than going from a pefect 70 degree day to quickly entering those high 90s!
We had an absolute blast! It's a shame we didn't have another week there because we certainly could have filled the time :)
A lot of the week is somewhat of a blur from getting so much in.
On Wednesday Auntie Christina arrived much to Kaitlyn's delight. Most of the day was relaxing. We had lunch at the Elephant Bar and Kaitlyn and I walked around looking for a beach. Kaitlyn spent a good part of the day in the hot tub. She insisted that the pool was much too cold for her.
Thursday Kaitlyn spent another good part of the day in the pool. Mommy and Daddy took her to the mall to run some errands. Thursday night was the memorial dinner. Kaitlyn was a pretty good girl while the dinner program took place. Daddy went to his softball game and on his way back picked up Uncle Brian to bring him with him. Kaitlyn was fast asleep by the time he got back.
On Friday morning we took daddy food at the Memorial Service and found the most amazing park. Seriously, this park was amazing, it had this huge castle that had a long tube slide going down. There were at least another 10 slides if different shapes and sizes and colors, 2 dragons to climb on, 9 swings and a tire swing. It was so awesome. Kaitlyn had a blast. We took a walk at the park and found a beautiful beach made of Kaitlyn's favorite things, rocks.
After the memorial, Kaitlyn went to the Kids club pool party and had fun in the hot tub. Later that afternoon, Nana and Papa came down. For Father's Day, we got Papa and Daddy Giant's tickets. They went to the game and Nana hung out with us.
Saturday morning was a trip to the kid's room after breakfast and then another pool party. Kaitlyn definately had her fair share of the sun this week. You should see our Golden Goddess.
Saturday evening, Kaitlyn hung out with Grandma and Auntie Beth while Daddy, Auntie Christina and Uncle Brian and I went to China Town and the pier. We had a blast and got back moments after Kaitlyn fell asleep.
This morning we went to the breakfast, watched the kids sing, the slideshows and then got ready to go. Kaitlyn got her last swim session in before we all loaded up to go back home.
Kaitlyn's very excited to announce that her catepillars are in their cacoons and soon will be butterflies!
On Friday, Daddy drove home the big Penske truck for CPOF's annual project conference. Kaitlyn was so excited to see it that she insisted on "driving!" with her sidekick Archie by her side! It made for the cutest pictures.
Friday night and Saturday morning was when we finished most of our packing. I went to a board meeting with Chicks in Crisis while Kaitlyn reluctantly stayed home with Daddy. They ended up having a lot of fun together and Kaitlyn got many "good girl" prizes when I got back.
The mailman dropped off Kaitlyn's catepillars on Saturday as well. She was SO excited to see them. They have grown so much since then. In the next few days, they should start in their cacoons and will soon be butterflies! Kaitlyn is so happy to be a butterfly mommy.
On Sunday, we had dinner at the Golden Palace with Nana, Papa, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis, Camaryn, Auntie Jamie, Uncle Joel, Auntie Stephanie, Uncle Craig, Hope and Beau to celebrate Father's day early since we would be out of town until at least Father's Day. The food was so good. I have been wanting to go back every day since then to recreate how yummy their food is. Daddy wants to thank everyone for his awesome gifts!
On Monday, Kaitlyn got to visit with Nana and Cousin Camaryn at Nana's house while I went to the gym with Auntie Christy. Kaitlyn was so happy to see Camaryn. It had been a whole week since they played! That is a REALLY long time for those girls to go! From there, we were going to head to gymnastics. Kaitlyn got dressed and ready and we made 1 stop on the way. At that stop, Kaitlyn stuck her leg in the van door as I was closing it. Needless to say, it didn't feel so good and she has a bad bruise on her ankle. So, she decided to reschedule her lesson.
Around 2 on Monday, we all loaded up and drove to San Francisco. Kaitlyn was so good watching Max and Ruby with her catepillars next to her.
When we arrived, we quickly went to our room and unpacked before having room service bring us some food. We spent some time wandering the hotel and finding everywhere we would be hanging out and visiting this week and then went to bed, very tired!
On Tuesday, Kaitlyn helped me get some things set up in the Kid's room before it was time for lunch. While we were visiting lunch, we had an awesome surprise, Auntie Sammie and Uncle Davey came up for the day to visit!
We headed to the mall and Target to pick up some snacks and things we needed for our room and trip. Then, Auntie Sammie, Uncle Davey, Daddy, Kaitlyn and I headed to the wharf. Kaitlyn loved the hat store and Sea Lions and seeing the water. Her and Daddy played the giant crane game and she rode the carosel before getting her huge ice cream!
Kaitlyn fell asleep on the way home and didn't wake up unitl 4 in the morning. Of course, she's been geared up and ready to go since then!
We hope everyone is having a wonderful week and can't wait to see everyone!
So, as many of you know, Dusty is a HUGE movie buff which makes this news all the more exciting for us! There is a website than many are familiar with called IMDB.com which is Internet Movie Data Base.
Well, if you do a search for Kaitlyn R. Miller, our little princess and movie star shows up for her work on The World's Astonishing News! We're working on getting everything up there and a picture!
First we would like to send a huge congratulations to Aunt Ashley and Uncle Aaron who just got the exciting news that they are expecting their first baby!
This week has been busy. Kaitlyn had gymnastics on Monday. She was not too excited at first to participate with her class, but as soon as she got in there, that quickly changed! She got to work on her rolls, tumbles, jumps, bar work and just have some silly fun!
The rest of Monday was fairly low key. It was a nice and relaxing night which I suppose was to get us energized for what the rest of the week held.
On Tuesday, we had lunch at Chuck E. Cheese with Kayla and Miss Sarah. Auntie Stephanie, Beau and Hope joined us too! Kaitlyn had a blast! Tuesday night we had dinner at Nana and Papa's house and Kaitlyn got to see Aunt Barbara and Uncle Dean.
Wednesday morning, we attempted the gym. Kaitlyn wanted nothing to do with the play area, so it was kind of a bust. From there we had lunch with Daddy and Kaitlyn played and played. We went to playdate where Kaitlyn got to play and play some more. After that we picked up Daddy and went to the ball game where, you guessed it, Kaitlyn played and played some more :)
Yesterday we had a very relaxing morning. I worked on some things while Kaitlyn got to swim, paint, color and play. Daddy had his ball game where they won! We went to Red Robin after for some delicious food!
Today we will visit the cemetery for Matthew's 10 month bithday. We also have some packing and cleaning to do. On Monday we leave for San Francisco for a week! We hope everyone is having a blast and enjoying their week!
Kaitlyn would like to wish Auntie Sammie and Uncle Davey a HUGE congrats on their engagement!
We spent this weekend at beautiful Lake Tahoe! The weather was absolutely gorgeous, the company was great and our accommodations couldn't have been any better!
On Friday night, we left and caravaned up to Lake Tahoe with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Christina, Uncle Brian, Uncle Scotty, Auntie Jamie and Uncle Davey's mommy and daddy Mike and Mary. The plan was to surprise Auntie Sammie and Uncle Davey as a part of Uncle Davey's elaborate proposal plan! We arrived at the beautiful cabin late Friday night. We were getting ready for bed when we looked outside and right across the street there was a bear!!!
Saturday morning we had a delicious breakfast Mary made. At about 10, Auntie Sammie and Uncle Davey arrived! She said yes! After lunch, we went to the visitor's center, shopping back for dinner and then of course the casino.
We came back today very tired. I'm working on all the pictures now so enjoy and comment on your favorites :)
We hope everyone has had a wonderful Memorial Day.
This has most definately been a busy week.
The week was fairly uneventful. Kaitlyn helped me run a lot of errands to get ready for this weekends pageants. We made a couple of trips to the hospital to wait for Auntie Stephanie to have Beau and Kaitlyn spent more time not wanting to go to school than actually going.
On Saturday, Kaitlyn competed in the CA Sunshine pageant and helped crown for the NES pageant. Auntie Christy said Kaitlyn did great on stage. She had a blast and from what I could see (I had to be on the stage with her at this one) she did amazing. She had a long and full day, earned a princess title, cutest face and 1st runner up for Centerfold for the program book. Congrats on Miss Camaryn for winning the Divisional Queen title for NES and CA Sunshine! The girls had fun but were so exhausted after the pageant day.
While we were at the pageant Auntie Stephanie had baby Beau! After the pageant, Kaitlyn was very excited to go and meet Baby Beau. We headed straight there. Kaitlyn was so exhausted, she fell asleep on the way home!
Sunday was the pageant debut for Enchanting Dreams Pageants. It was a great day and went so well! I was so proud of Kaitlyn for being so well behaved. She was a really good little girl.
Kaitlyn quickly fell asleep after the pageant, so while she slept we went to the cemetery and then headed to the hostpital to visit Auntie Stephanie, Uncle Craig and baby Beau. We got back just after Kaitlyn woke up from her nap. We then went to Joe's Crab Shack. The Jazz Jubilee was going on in Old Sac while we were there and Kaitlyn loved hearing the music and haning out in the toy stores while we waited for our table. We had some very yummy food and then Kaitlyn was so happy to be able to go to bed.
Today was a nice and relaxing day. Tomorrow marks the first day of the last week Kaitlyn has of preschool. I promised her that after we'll go and see Horton Hears a who! She is so excited.
