What a great 3-day weekend this turned out to be!!

Kaitlyn is now reading 3 whole books!  She even showed Grandma and Auntie Christina.  Of course it cost Auntie Christina $5, but I'm sure it was worth it ;)

Friday afternoon, Kaitlyn helped me bake a cake and played her heart out outside before Uncle Allen and Auntie Alicia came over for dinner.  Kaitlyn was really excited to spend time with them and we all had a good time.  When it was time for them to go home, Kaitlyn was so tired she couldn't even walk them out.  She insisted on being carried and fell asleep moments after they were on their way home!

Saturday we spent most of the day hanging out.  Daddy got a new lawnmower, which he was super excited about and then we had dinner at Nana and Papa's.  Auntie Barbara, Uncle Dean, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis and Camaryn were all there.  Kaitlyn had a great time and I've yet to meet someone who could grill better than Daddy can!  Kaitlyn was fast asleep before we got home, and Archie was pretty worn out too ;)

Sunday, I did the grocery shopping before everyone came over here for Sunday dinner.  Kaitlyn was excited for her visitors: Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Christina, Uncle Brian, Auntie Sammie, Uncle Davey, Uncle Scotty, Auntie Jamie, Auntie Beth, Uncle Paul, Uncle Davey's Mommy, Daddy, Sister, Brother-in-law and nephew, and Uncle Brian's mommy and daddy.  We had tacos and sundaes and the boys all played horse shoes.  It was a good night!

This morning, Daddy and Kaitlyn snuggled and did art while I took pictures of Kayla and hung out with Miss Sarah.  They brough lunch over and the girls played before Kaitlyn had to get ready to go to the cemetery.  After we visited the cemetery, we came back home, cooked dinner and hung out together!

Wednesday is back to school night and we cannot wait to hear what Kaitlyn's teacher has to say!  We hope everyone has had a safe and fun holiday weekend!

Kaitlyn finished her third week of school today!  She's doing awesome!!

In the last 3 weeks, she's gotten great at writing to the number 30!!  She's learning all about science, social science, addition and subtraction and is super proud and excited to announce that she is reading!!  She read her first full book on Monday, and has learned a new book every day.  She's in one of the highest reading groups (with some 1st graders!) and is reading level 2 books.  She's up to 3 books and has learned a ton of site words!  I have a cute video of her reading that I'll post soon.

The last couple weeks have been so busy.  Grandma is doing well after her surgery and is healing nicely.  Tomorrow she goes back to work with Mommy, Daddy and Auntie Christina ;)   She had a fun play date with Hailey, Ashley, Hunter and Gage and has been talking about the girls non-stop since then :)  She really misses going to school with Hailey.  She enjoyed a fun play date with Kayla and Dylan at Chuck E. Cheese!!  She played and played, the girls get along so well.  We went to Camaryn's birthday where Kaitlyn had a lot of fun.  After Kaitlyn had a sleep over with her cousin Hope, where she said she had a blast when she came home the next afternoon.

We have a lot coming up.  Mommy is getting ready for her trip to NY, and Kaitlyn is getting ready for her Daddy Kaitlyn time.  Kaitlyn is also getting ready to go back to dance class!  She is going to be taking ballet/tap and tap/jazz lessons.  This month she also starts Cheer which she is really excited for!  We also have many birthday parties, baby showers and get togethers!!

We're still working on Kaitlyn's site.  In just a couple more weeks, it'll have a whole new "flow" to it.  All of her pictures will be stored on an outside website that is set-up really nice.  You'll be able to order anything you'd like, decide if you want email notifications when new pictures are updated, and every month's album will be linked on our picture page :)  We're going to also be turning our picture page into the family page, so look for new family pictures added with much more ease :)

The summer is coming to an end and we're getting ready to steam ahead to fall!  We hope everyone is doing well!!

You may notice that you can't see all of Kaitlyn's pictures right now.  I pay for a lot of extra storage space for the 14,000+ pictures we store on here, and sometimes there is a slight lap when new storage is needed :)  So, there are new pictures that you should be able to see in the next day or two.  I'm also going to start deleting some of the older ones :)  If they are repetative and stuff like that :)

Kaitlyn would like to wish her little cousin Camaryn a very happy and very special 4th Birthday!!

Kaitlyn finished her first full week of school this week.  It went fantastic.  We frop her off at the playground now and she gets to play with her friends before she goes into the classroom.  She loves it.

Kaitlyn's been great this week.  She went to work with me Monday and Tuesday afternoon.  On Thursday I went to Reno to work and she let Daddy get her ready and take her to school.  After, Auntie Christina picked her up and then Nana watched her for the afternoon.  I ended up staying the night in Reno, so Daddy got Kaitlyn into bed and then up and dressed again the next day and to school!  She was very excited when I picked her up that afternoon!

Friday night, Kaitlyn hung out at Nana and Papa's house while Daddy and I went to the movies.  Saturday morning Kaitlyn and I headed to the mall.  She had a blast at Build A Bear, adding to her ever expanding collection, adding to her wardrobe at Gymboree before coming home.  I started to get ready to go out with daddy when he started feeling sick :(  So, we all ended up staying home, eating yummy pizza and enjoying the Giant's game and the food network :P

Today daddy made us all breakfast and we're getting ready to head to the cemetery and then go to Grandma and Grandpa's house and maybe to the Stockton ball game tonight!

This week promises to be busy.  We have a few playdates schedules, back to school night on Wednesday, Camaryn's birthday party, and lots of fun stuff planned!  We also have a picture appointment tomorrow and then we're placing a picture order, so if there is one in a particular size, speak up :)

Kaitlyn had an amazing day at school today!!  She was so excited to go, and so happy when I picked her up!  It's going to be a good year :)

08/16/09

Well, Kaitlyn finished her first week of school!  3 days down and 177 days of instruction left :P  The last day of school is June 4, and I know Summer vacation is going to have a whole new meaning now!

School is going well.  She's made a lot of new friends, her and Kaylee both LOVE Barbies and both LOVE Care Bears, and both actually take a care bear as their cuddle toy.  So, I'm really glad to see her happy!  All of the kindergartner's also have a big kid buddy for lunch time.  Kaitlyn loves hers and says her buddy loves her, thinks she's adorable with the cutest hair :)

Friday was a bit of a rough start.  Kaitlyn was super tired when I woke her up.  She's been allowed to go to bed around 11 every night when Daddy goes to sleep and get up around 8:30 - 9.  Now she needs to get up between 6:45 - 7 to be at school on time.  Thursday night I was at the hospital until late, so she stayed up later than she should have.  Outside of the classroom she had a total melt down.  Luckily, it was Friday, and for Friday morning sing the principal was in the class room to help explain to the little ones what the Friday morning sing was (the whole school gets together in the auditorium for an hour to sing songs, we did the same thing when I was in elementary school!), and she walked Kaitlyn into the classroom.  I hung out, hidden for about 1/2 hour watching and she did great.  When I picked her up she said she had a blast.  She had a good day at school, so we headed to the mall for pictures, and shopping :)

On Thursday I finally got the welcome letter in the mail from her teacher.  Part of their school supply list is to have a change of clothes, in case of accidents, 4 family pictures for their classroom family picture album, and a cuddle toy in case they want to cuddle with something during story time.

Kaitlyn has adjusted well to the long school days and has of Friday night, really adjusted well to going to bed no later than 8:30 and getting up nice and early all on her own.  Bye Bye sleeping in until June!  Lol!

We've been visiting Grandma who is doing better.  She's at home now where she can rest a little easier.  Still in pain and still pretty nauseous but good otherwise.

We have a lot going on this month: River Cat's game, Stockton baseball game, Daddy's softball starts up, I have a trip to Reno, Back to School Night, Camaryn's birthday, play dates and just a whole lot of fun!

Next week, I am taking Kaitlyn to have her pics done once more in a new outfit I picked up for her, and then I'm going to order pictures.  If there is anything in particular you want, be sure to speak up.  I know it's going to be a large order :P

Kaitlyn is home from her first day of school!!  School started with all the kids (there are 20 in the class right now) sitting on the carpet, going over the rules, the teacher's name and what they would be learning this year.  All of the kids are expected to be reading, writing, adding, multiplying, subtracting and learning a lot of science this year!!  On top of having full day classes, they will also be having homework every day.

I snuck out after the first 1/2 hour.  Kaitlyn said they spent a lot of time reading.  They also make apples with worms in them.  They had a short recesses and didn't really have much playing time, it was all for learning.

She said she had a lot of fun making new best friends, making new friends, showing them all her "tricks" lol.  She got to go to the bathroom by herself :)  She also had lunch at school today.  During lunch, the Kindergartener's get to have a "big kid" buddy to sit next to.  Kaitlyn's buddy brought her a pretty white carnation.  She was so excited.

After school, we headed to the hospital to visit Grandma.  She's doing pretty good, she was still sleeping and in pain, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Tomorrow is day 2 of school :)  Kaitlyn can't wait!

Kaitlyn would like to wish Amber all the way in Alabama  a very happy birthday!!!

Tomorrow is the big day in a couple ways!

Kaitlyn is excited to start Kindergarten and nervous at the same time.  She's worried since she doesn't know anyone and for some reason thinks she is going to have a hard time making friends.  We know that isn't going to be an issue :P  Her backpack is all packed, her clothes are laid out, and tomorrow she'll officially being a Kindergartener.  :)

Tomorrow, Grandma is also going to have a mastectomy for breast cancer that was detected a couple of weeks ago.  Her surgery is scheduled at 9:30 in the morning, so it promises to be a really busy day.  Lots of positive thoughts and prayers :)

Today, Kaitlyn would like to wish her baby brother a very happy second birthday in Heaven.  We love and miss you!!!

Kaitlyn would also like to wish one of her best friend's Kayla a very happy birthday!!

Well, one of our biggest concerns with Kindergarten was getting Kaitlyn into the morning class.  We were worried that we wouldn't find out until Friday if she was or not, and then if not, have to find her another kindergarten and get her approved.

We found out today that is not going to be a concern since her Kindergarten is going to be full day!  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, she'll be in school 6.5 hours.  Wednesday she'll be in school for about 5.5 hours!  It seems like so long, she's going to be such a big girl!!  And of course, they don't do nap time, which I don't think any school she's been to has!

I'm working on updating the whole website, so check us out next week!!

Happy Monday!!  This week marks the last full week of Summer Vacation for Kaitlyn.  She starts school on Wednesday, August 12 and is getting so excited!!!  She is completely registered and ready to go, on Friday we'll get her teacher and class assignment.

We've had a busy weekend!  We went to Daddy's ball games on Wednesday and Thursday, and saw Nana, Papa, Auntie Jamie, Uncle Joel and Carmen.  We spent both days running errands.  Kaitlyn saw her doctor on Wednesday and got a clean bill of health.  She was prescribed Zoflan for nausea since she was still slightly dehydrated and not really eating or drinking.  By Thursday, she was back to eating and drinking and by Friday she was back to her normal self!

Friday we spent a lot of time working on the yard.  We got one tree almost all the way down, a lot of weeding down, and the garden beds ready for new flowers.  Friday night we met Dorin, Nicole, Dominick and Isaiah for dinner, where they had a blast!  When we got home, we watched the Giant's game on TV, hoping to see Daddy and Papa, but we didn't.

Saturday was more of the yard work.  Luckily the weather was perfect for it.  We got all the trees and bushes around the pool we hate taken out.  Which of course meant a lot of the debri went into the pool so we started on a deep clean :)  We finished out the day with some of Daddy's delicious chicken, probably the best he's ever made!

Sunday was finishing up the yard work and deep cleaning of the pool.  Then we visited the cemetery and went to Auntie Christina, Auntie Sammie, Uncle Brian, and Uncle Davey's house for dinner.

Today we head to get some work done on the videos.  This week is going to be busy.  We have a lot of work to do, followed by a lot to do to get the balloon release ready for Saturday!
