Kaitlyn is getting so big and so smart. Sometimes it's hard to believe she isn't already 3 and instead is just approaching it.
Kaitlyn knows all of her ABCs, can count to 20, can say "hello", "good-bye" and "good" in spanish. She knows her left and her right, her opposites, and has an awesome memory. Kaitlyn will recall things that happened weeks ago as though they just happened. She remembers songs and even the made up songs and verses we make up (like our own twist on Wheels on the Bus!). She is in no way a baby anymore and will tell you if you accidently say it.
She likes to play tricks on you. She'll point to Daddy's hair and say it's Matthew's hair until you agree and then laugh and say "Silly mommy, I tricked you!" and she loves to scare you. She'll hide or sneak up on you and jump out and yell boo!
Kaitlyn has also developed an opinion on everything. Whether it is what she is going to wear, how she wants her hair done, what color her nails should be, if she should dress up, if she should put shoes on first or drink milk first or what type of diaper Matthew should wear!
Kaitlyn is just gorgeous, inside and out! She grows more and more everyday and is becoming such a precious young lady.
Today was the Family Picnic at William Land Park for Kaitlyn's head start program. All of the preschool classes from the Sacramento area attended for a day of arts and crafts, jump houses and good times.
Kaitlyn jumped from house to house until she had been in all 12. She saw some of her school friends and played with them. Since I had Matthew with me, there were too many kids (at least 500) for my comfort level so I asked Kaitlyn if she would like to go to the deserted Fairytale town. Of course, she eagerly agreed.
She had a blast!!! Check out the pictures to prove it. She listened so good, made new friends and had so much fun playing on all the character slides and toys. She even left when it was time too!!
I was so proud of her.
Kaitlyn did amazing at Speech Therapy!! Pam said she's at least where she should be in expressive speech and far ahead in receptive. She said she doesn't think she needs therapy anymore, but we'll continue until the end of next month! This is amazing, great and wonderful news!!!
We don't have cable in Kaitlyn's room, so, she when she watches TV in her room, it is a DVD. Tonight, Kaitlyn came to me and told me "Me watch Dumbo." So I went into her room to put Dumbo into the DVD player and noticed that she had got the DVD out of the case, put it into her DVD player, turned the DVD player on, the TV player on and pushed play! I guess if she wants something, she wants it right then!
She insists on getting everything for herself. And she's completely potty trained, as long as she's in panties. Even in public, she asks to go, as long a we don't put her in a diaper.
Kaitlyn has grown so much, it's hard to believe that she's not quite three yet!
Kaitlyn has been so busy lately! She shot her Mervyn's ad on Wednesday. They called her back that day to shoot on Thursday (I told you they loved her!) but with Matthew in the hospital we were unable to do it.
Thursday, she spent the day with Daddy and Grandma. She told me she had lots of fun and got to go to "her" Walmart. That girl and Walmart let me tell ya!
Friday she had a blast. She went to school and then to Grandma's house. From Grandma's house she went with Uncle Brian, Auntie Christina and Reid to John's Incredible Pizza. She told me she had so much fun playing games, eating Pizza (Uncle Brian was glad someone was taking advantage of the buffet since Kaitlyn ate more than Auntie Christina and Reid!) and of course ice cream. Her favorite part? It rained on the way to the car.
On Saturday, Matthew was discharged from the hospital so Kaitlyn came home to see mommy, daddy and Matthew. She was a very good girl and told me all about all the fun she was having!!
Saturday night, Kaitlyn got to go to Uncle Joel's cowboy Birthday party! She said she had so much fun! She played with Milo (the bunny she asks about every day now) and ate yummy food and even got to roast marshmallows for the very first time!! She was so happy. She told me that Daddy has to have a cowboy party for his birthday now.
On Sunday, Kaitlyn got to go to Mackenzie's 5th Birthday party! It was a Cinderella party and Kaitlyn said she had a blast. Auntie Christina took her to the party at Funderland and helped her to ride on all the rides. Then Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Brian all came over and brought dinner with them (yay!) and Aunt Barbara and Uncle Dean stopped by for a little while shortly after.
On Monday, Kaitlyn was back at school and happy as can be. Monday night, Kaitlyn got to wear her Snow White Costume and take Princess pictures with her Princess cousins! I should have them up on the site tonight, so be sure to check those out.
Today, I took Matthew to the doctor (him and Kaitlyn share Dr. Kono) and he said he saw Kaitlyn in the paper!! Her interview came out! I am trying to obtain some copies of the paper so I can share :)
Now that I'm all caught up on stuff, look forward to new pictures and new video very shortly!
Kaitlyn had a great day! She booked a Mervyn's ad that will be released on November 25.
She did amazing!! She did so well in fact, everyone was bragging about her. Not just to me or one another, the head of the marketing department for Mervyn's was telling other parents their kids should be more like Kaitlyn!! He said she would be working WAY more now. To prove it, she booked for tomorrow! Unfortunately with Matthew being sick we have to cancel, but it's nice to know she'll be back to work!
We had such a fun weekend!! The Circus was amazing. It was beautiful and so perfectly done!
On Sunday, we went to the pumpkin patch with Aunt Jamie and Uncle Joel. Kaitlyn has been asking to go ever since she saw the bilboards for Dave's Pumpkin patch go up. She was so excited! She got to take a long horsey ride, do the hay maze, pick out pumpkins, and go on the bouncy slide over and over and over again. She was so happy to be there!
The pumpkin patch sure did wear Kaitlyn out! She napped right when we got in the car to go to Grandma and Grandpa's. When we got there, Daddy carried her to bed and she woke up just long enough to whisper "I went to the pumpkin patch Grandma" and then sleep for a couple of hours.
This morning, Kaitlyn went to school. She didn't go on Thursday or Friday because she was sick. She insisted on taking 3 pictures she colored on heart paper. I mean, threw a fit to take them. As soon as she walked in the room 3 little girls ran up to her and were yelling "Hi Kaitlyn!! Kaitlyn's back!!" and she handed them all a picture. It was so sweet! I love that Kaitlyn has friends that she remembers, that remember her and that she can be excited to see!
The circus was a blast! Friday afternoon, Kaitlyn started feeling better and we kept her home to be sure she rested and it worked out perfectly!
We got to the circus early so we could see the preshow. Kaitlyn had no problem mingling with the other kids and enjoying the clowns and elephants. When we got close to one clown and he complimented her she kinda froze.
We made our way to our seats and the show began. It was a great show. We got to see the prettiest elephants, most amazing tigers and cutest puppies!! Kaitlyn was very into the show. She would get so excited and participate when it was time to. When the main clown climbed this tall pole to dance on, she kept yelling "you're gonna fall!!" and tell us, "he's gonna fall" and then yell back to him "be careful!"
Kaitlyn was such a good girl! She loved her popcorn and snocone and was so impressed with the whole show! Thanks so much to grandma for coming over and watching Matthew so we could go and have fun!
In just a little while we are going to head out to meet Aunt Jamie and Uncle Joel at the Pumpkin patch before going to Grandma and Grandpa's for dinner! Kaitlyn is super excited about the pumpkin patch!

On Wednesday, Kaitlyn got to go to the zoo. We got there earlier than everyone so Kaitlyn had plenty of time to play with the penguins, visit the flamingos and run around before her cousin Hope got there! The girls got to play inside the gift shop while they waited for cousin Camaryn and friend Kayla.
The girls had a blast and Kaitlyn was exhausted after her trip to the zoo. Wednesday night, she went to Daddy's softball game and halfway through wanted to go home. This was a big deal since Kaitlyn is always so excited about Daddy's ball games. She came home and went straight to sleep.
Thursday morning, Kaitlyn woke up and said she felt all better. She had a feve of 102.7 and to be on the safe side, we kept her home from school. She was a little sleepy and cranky all day, but other than that had no symptoms. That is until about 6:30 this morning when the vomiting started :(
For about an hour it was non-stop. Kaitlyn kept asking for juice and the "antedote" over and over for that hour. Finally, she decided she wanted to sleep downstairs on her princess bed (an inflatable sleeping bag Grandma and Grandpa got her) and watch Elmo. She insisted I come with her and she's sound asleep now. Hopefully this will pass quickly and she'll still be able to enjoy the circus tomorrow and the pumpkin patch Sunday!
Kaitlyn had a blast in Monterey. She's been talking about it nonstop and wants to go back to Auntie Sammie's house immediatly and take Cami there. She thinks there are going to stat a band! I heard Kaitlyn was a good girl and did awesome on the potty!! She got to play Uncle Davey's drums and get pushed by the wave in the beach!
I want to congratulate Kaitlyn in being the first runner up in the Natural Beauty Pageant Photo Contest!
This week is daddy's last week at home before going back to work. We don't have much planned, Daddy has softball on Wednesday and Thursday and we might go to the zoo on Thursday. Then, on Saturday night we are going to the Circus! Yay! Grandma agreed to come over and watch Matthew so Kaitlyn can enjoy all that Barnum and Bailey have to offer!
Kaitlyn's had a fun week! She got to go to school everyday. It's so cute to watch her come back from the cafeteria holding hands with her friends and giving hugs before she goes home. She's so sweet!
On Wednesday night, she got to have a blast at Daddy's softball game. She came home very tired. Thursday night Kaitlyn was very excited to go to a birthday party for Great Grandma Bobbie. She came home asleep, but the next morning told me how much fun she had. She got to spend time with Nana, Papa, Auntie Christy, Cami, Uncle Dennis, Daddy, Hope, Aunt Stephanie, Uncle Craig, Uncle Allen, Aunt Alicia and of course, Great Grandma Bobbie.
Kaitlyn went to speech therapy yesterday and is continuing to make a lot of improvement and have fun. She got to paint and use glitter on a picture of a kitty cat that is now on the fridge. She was SO excited.
This morning, Kaitlyn got a treat! She got to go with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Christina, Uncle Brian and of course Zoe to see Auntie Sammie and Uncle Davey in Monterey. She wanted to go to her Big Beach and see the dolphins, whales, sharks, fish and sea shells. I'm sure she's having a blast!
