Some people have been doing a lot of asking about what Kaitlyn wants for her birthday and for Christmas (That means you Aunt Beth!) so today Kaitlyn and I used this awesome invention called the internet and got started on a wish list!
Please know, presents aren't at all expected or requested but this will make it easier for those who want to buy something for the Princess who has everything :)
Today, Kaitlyn and Camaryn were in the California Sweet Pea pageant in Carmichael. Both girls did beautifuly and gave award winning performances. I sure do feel sorry for the judges today!
Kaitlyn walked away with 4 tropheys, two sashes and 2 crowns. She won most photogenic, Personality Plus and Best Smile. She also won Supreme Queen! We want to be sure to congratulate Camaryn on Best Dressed, Prettiest Hair and Grand Supreme Queen! The girls were gorgeous and did so well!
Matthew and Kaitlyn ask that you keep their Aunt Barbara in your thoughts and prayers. She was in a bad car accident earlier today and has serious injuires.
We're back from speech therapy. Kaitlyn had a blast and got to do crafts today. Miss Pam was on vacation so Kaitlyn played with Miss Jan. Miss Jan has been there the longest and is incredibly nice. She said Kaitlyn was the cutest and sweetest girl she's ever worked with. She also said Kaitlyn is definately caught up to where she should be for her age. School is making a huge difference and expanding her vocabulary by leaps and bounds. Right now her favorite two sayings are "Whatcha doin'? or "Awe Man"
After we finished Speech Therapy we hit the fabric store. I got Kaitlyn everything I need to make her overalls for Halloween. She got to pick everything out and said she wants to be the Halloween princess in her tutu skirt. She also picked out some art projects for herself to work on. I also got everything I need to stone her pink pageant dress. Kaitlyn was going to wear a blue dress in Sunday's Pageant, but she decided that it wasn't Princess enough and noticed her pink dress shell in the closet and said that was the only one she could wear. So, I'm staying pretty busy ;)
Kaitlyn is growing by leaps and bounds every day. She's been dry in her pull up all day and eagerly goes to the potty as soon as she thinks she needs to go. She's also loving her role as big sister. She sings Matthew songs and asks him which songs he likes and has determined he needs his own baby song. She likes to tickle him and show him everything and of course "pat him" which she always wants to do :)
On August 31, 2007 a terrible tragedy struck the Cooley family. A wonderful mother and friend lost her beautiful 3 year old little girl in a tragic accident.
Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.
Kaitlyn's decided she is sick of diapers and wants to go on the potty like a big girl.
Over the weekend she went poo poo and pee pee on her potty without any prompting. She woud come and tell us afterwards with the biggest look of pride on her face :) Yesterday she went pee on the potty at school (she was super proud) and this morning she started her day with a pee on the potty.
My goal was to have her potty trained by her birthday, but I haven't put much effort into it, luckily she's decided to be a big girl!
Kaityn is still enjoying life as a big sister. She asked that he stop crying at night. I'm really trying to oblige her royal highness.
Kaitlyn is really enjoying life as a big sister! She wants to be near Matthew all the time. She likes to hand me diapers, makes sure his pac is near by and pats him if he's upset.
Kaitlyn has finished her first week of school and loves it. Every day she eagerly runs into class and can't wait to go back the next day. She loves all of her friends and really likes all of her teachers.
Kaitlyn's vocabulary is really increasing in the short week she's been at school.
Kaitlyn has also decided on her Halloween costume. She wants to be Snow White. Right now, Snow White is her most favorite person in the world. I cannot wait to start on her Halloween costume and every day she asks me "C'mon mommy, snow white dress ready now!?" She's a little on the sassy side.
We're also busy planning Kaitlyn's birthday party! I can't believe that in 2 1/2 months our princess is going to be 3! I also can't believe that there is only 2 1/2 months left and I haven't done anything!! Luckily, it's all planned and my to-do lists are ready so I can start scratching some stuff off with a little help. It's definatly going to be the best birthday so far and you don't want to miss it!
Before I get ahead of myself, if you saw the pictures on the front page, you've seen some of the shots from her photo shoot on Saturday! She did so good! She even let me change her clothes 3 times! I was so proud of her. She was a serious super star!
This morning, we all got up early and Kaitlyn got ready for her big day. It was her first day at school. Daddy and I took her and signed her in. When the door for school opened, she made her way inside. I asked her for good-bye kisses and she gave them to me and Daddy and then she was off! There were friends to be made and a playground made for playing! Kaitlyn did great the entire day and didn't cry once. When she saw Daddy standing at the door at the end of school, she charged at him. She can't wait to go tomorrow and has been beaming with excitement all day!
While I went to see Matthew Aunt Christy was nice enough to watch little Miss Kaitlyn. When I got back, Kaitlyn was wearing panties and told me she had to pee pee. She ran to the bathroom and I sat her on the potty and she peed! She earned herself a candy for sure! She was so proud and couldn't wait to tell daddy.
When we got home, I was busy trying to rearrange things so I could have some free time tomorrow to put together Matthew's crib. She ran to me and said I poo poo in Dora potty. I thought she needed to go, so as I started to help her on the way, she yelled at me and then showed me, she had already went poo poo in the Dora Potty!! She was so proud of herself and earned another little candy! She couldn't wait to tell Grandpa and Daddy all about it and of course anyone else that happened to call or come in the same room with her!
Kaitlyn is really becoming our big girl! She thinks she's 4 and tells everyone that and few people doubt her :P! We are so proud of her!
Kaitlyn is growing up so fast. She doesn't have a shy bone in her body!!
On Wednesday, we had her first home visit for school. Kaitlyn's teacher came to our home for the last of the paperwork. Kaitlyn wouldn't let her be for a moment. She wanted to show her all of her books, toys, prizes and of course her room and her baby's room! Her teacher doesn't think Kaitlyn will have any problems in school. She said she was incredibly smart and outgoing and wouldn' have any problems being the most popular girl in class!
On Wednesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon Kaitlyn got to visit Matthew. On Wednesday she went there while Matthew was sleeping. She kept asking if she could pat him. She blew him kisses and told him she loved him.
On Thursday, Kaitlyn came in while I was feeding Matthew. She was so excited to see him awake. Her favorite part? His little feet. She wouldn't let go of them and kissed them and held them. She really wanted to hold him, but he's still much too small for that. So, she had to make due by just patting him and talking to him. Matthew's nurse was surprised she was so young and kept commenting on how bright she was!
Today, Kaitlyn has speech therapy and will be picking up her crown and sash for her Tiny Miss Carmichael Title. Tomorrow she has a shoot for new headshots :) And of course tomorrow is Camaryn's birthday party and she can't!!
Today was Kaitlyn's first day of preschool. It was mostly an orientation. Kaitlyn played outside with the two assistant teachers while Mommy and Daddy were in the classroom learning all about Kaitlyn's first year of fun!
Kaitlyn told us how much fun she had and was even able to pick out her own cubby and cubby hole as well as her own toothbrush. We're both pretty confident that Kaitlyn is going to have a blast!
Kaitlyn's first day of school all by herself is on Monday, August 27!! Wish her (and us) a ton of luck!
Yesterday Kaitlyn was interviewed for a local newspaper on her success in both modeling and her recent pageant title. The magazine is monthly in Carmichael and Arden and will feature a picture of our princess as well. She is supposed to be in the September issue that comes out in the middle of the month! We'll be sure to get many to give to anyone that is interested :)
Kaitlyn has a very active imagination. She's thrilled as can be to be sleeping in her bed at Mommy and Daddy's house. Last night, she came to our bed and was scared so she ended up sleeping with us. This morning we asked her why she wanted to sleep in mommy and daddy's bed. She told us it was because the Monster ate her hair, toes, butt, tummy and nose. We asked her what the monster looked like and she said he was big, black and had 4 hands. She said her Winnie the Pooh scared him away!
