Yesterday Kaitlyn was interviewed for a local newspaper on her success in both modeling and her recent pageant title. The magazine is monthly in Carmichael and Arden and will feature a picture of our princess as well. She is supposed to be in the September issue that comes out in the middle of the month! We'll be sure to get many to give to anyone that is interested :)
Kaitlyn has a very active imagination. She's thrilled as can be to be sleeping in her bed at Mommy and Daddy's house. Last night, she came to our bed and was scared so she ended up sleeping with us. This morning we asked her why she wanted to sleep in mommy and daddy's bed. She told us it was because the Monster ate her hair, toes, butt, tummy and nose. We asked her what the monster looked like and she said he was big, black and had 4 hands. She said her Winnie the Pooh scared him away!
On Friday night, Kaitlyn went camping with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Beth, Auntie Christina, Uncle Brian and of course Zoe.
Kaitlyn called regularly to say how much fun she was having at her beach. She got to sleep with her big Ariel pillow, play in th water, walk Zoe, push Zoe in her stroller, and eat lots of yummy food! There are a ton of pictures in the picture section! (Thanks Grandma and Auntie Christina!!!)
As you read, Kaitlyn is now a big sister. On Monday night, she met her baby brother. She was so good. She kept saying "Matthew sick? Where's Matthew's doctor?" I know that even though she saw pictures of him and we told her he was sick, this wasn't what she expected for her brother. She's had 9 weeks of seeing healthy babies in the nursery all wrapped in blankets. I know it makes her sad that she can't hold him, touch him, give him kisses and take him home, but soon enough she can.
Kaitlyn seems very happy to be going home :) She's at least 38" tall and talking so good, people are constantly thinking she's 3, 4 and even 5!! She's growing up so fast. And Kaitlyn is so smart. She loves to tell you stories, remembers everything you tell her and so many things you don't. She is an amazing little girl.
Kaitlyn starts school on August 20! We can't believe our big girl is so grown up!
Kaitlyn cracks me up lately. She is talking so much better that it's amazing to me. She's been telling me stories about what she wants for Christmas, want Camaryn wants for Christmas, what Matthew wants for Christmas and what Hope wants for Christmas.
Kaitlyn keeps saying she wants a blue car. Camaryn wants a pink car. Matthew wants a red or white toy box that Santa has to fill with toys. She's decided Hope wants a Sponge Bob. She decided that Hope doesn't like Scooby-Doo, Kaitlyn does now and Hope likes Sponge Bob.
Kaitlyn's getting closer to going on the potty. For those that aren't around Kaitlyn often, one of the biggest problems is the girl is a drinker. She easily drinks 64+ ounces of fluid a day. She does pretty good about going a while between urinating, but I think the feeling sneaks up on her. Now, she tells you she went pee pee (or poo poo), takes off her diaper, rolls it up, throws it away and brings you a clean one.
Kaitlyn really likes to tell us what's what. She's ok with Camaryn having a Sponge Bob party and Hope having a princess party and Kaitlyn having a circus party with "Neigh Neigh rides" but she insists that Sandy (the character from Sponge bob) has to be there. It's hard just finding a Sandy toy, much less a costume... So, I promised her Sandy cupcakes for dinner ;) Today she told me some of her guestlist. For some reason, she always tells me the boys first.
Kaitlyn loves to laugh. She's such a funny girl and has the best little memory. She's really excited for Mommy and Matthew to go home and can't wait to start school!! We love our princess so much!
We would all like to send our thoughts, prayers and condolences to Cousin Willy his entire family. Last night, Cousin Cassie (Cousin Willy's wife) was tragically killed in a car accident. She leaves behind 5 young children, a husband and a lot of family who loved her very much.
Kaitlyn is growing so much!! She's being such a big girl. She is facinated with babies. I think she's reached the point where she knows Matthew will be here soon and she wants to be sure that she is his favorite. She likes to share her juice and snacks with him through my belly buton. Then we remind her that Matthew will be too little for juice and snacks and all he'll eat is Mommy's milk. She always responds with an excited "oh, Mommy's milk!" and tells him "no, no juice Matthew" She's been great about trying to read him stories and sing songs with him. If daddy is here, she makes him sing too!
On Thursday night, at Daddy's softball game Kaitlyn was a really big girl and peed on the potty all by herself! Hopefully, this will be a sign of things to come and we can get her potty trained by the time school starts. Kaitlyn doesn't use the restroom in her diaper at all through the night and rarely during naps, so hopefully all we have to worry about is daytime training.
Kaitlyn's speech is also improving. Miss Pam noticed that Kaitlyn is talking in so many more full sentences. The main focus is just working on her being a tad more clear. Sometimes I think Kaitlyn gets so excited to tell us something, she doesn't take her time and everything comes out jumbled.
When Kaitlyn is here, her two favorite sayings are "Who's that" anytime anyone walks into the room or we pass anyone outside on our walks and "what's that for" when she sees something new. She's a very curious, outgoing little girl.
Kaitlyn would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Aunt Wende for all of the awesome things she received in the mail today. She got some very cute clothes, a new speedo bathing suit and her favorite, of course, books! She is a very happy little girl. Kaitlyn sends her hugs, kisses and love to Aunt Wende, Uncle Chris and her big cousins Kimberly and Lauren (mommy and daddy send the same).
Kaitlyn would like to wish her Papa a very Happy Birthday!
Yesterday, Kaitlyn went with Grandma to have some "Yay for School" pictures done! I saw the proofs and they are absolutely adorable, I really cannot wait for them to come in. Kaitlyn took pictures with Elmo on Sesame Street and then took some really cute ones on a plain background. Grandma had no idea how she would pick out the perfect ones and ended up spending a small fortune and getting them all. Since Kaitlyn was such a good girl, she got to have Cinnabun! Kaitlyn said it was very good!
After pictures, Kaitlyn came to see me and tell me everything that she did and everything she wanted to do. She wanted her finger nails painted blue and I happily obliged. She also watched Tom and Jerry and thought Tom was a big meanie!! She did not care for him one bit.
Kaitlyn left here to go to the birthday celebration for Auntie Christina! I heard she had a great time playing with Camaryn, Luke, Makenzie and of course little Zoe. Grandma said she would tease Zoe by hiding her toy where Zoe couldnt' see it (like on top of the table) and then crack up watching her look for it!
Kaitlyn's latest ad is out. Kaitlyn modeled for the Baby Couture Magazine. I have yet to receive my copies ( :( Bummer I know!) but a friend in NY had received them and took pictures of her pictures for me :D
I promise, when my copies come in I'll scan them so they are easier to see :)

This morning, Daddy took Kaitlyn to her school to get her tests all out of the way for her to start preschool!
Kaitlyn had to pass some physical tests including an eye exam, hearing exam and a weight/height check. It's official that we have a tall healthy little girl who flew through the hearing exam and the eye exam! They even accidently gave her the eye test for 3 and up and she did great on it! She had one proud daddy!
For being so good, Kaitlyn got a sticker and got to play on the playground for a little while!
