We got to Grandma and Grandpa's at about 9:30 and started on our way to Vallejo to go to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom!
We parked and walked into the gate to be greated by a HUGE elephant! Kaitlyn was so excited! Dumbo is one of her favorite movies so to have an elephant so close to her was a lot of fun!
We called Aunt Jamie, Uncle Joel and Uncle Dennis who were already in a long line for a ride. We decided that we would make the trip to see the penguins while we waited for them. Kaitlyn loved the penguins. They would get really close to her and swim all around.
We started walking towards where Aunt Jamie, Uncle Joel and Uncle Dennis was. Daddy and Grandma saw that the Boomerang line had nearly no one in line and decided to go on the scary looking ride. When Kaitlyn heard people screaming on it, she got very upset and cried out for Daddy and Grandma! Luckily, they were done in no time at all!
After the ride, we saw the big ol' elephant getting a bath! Kaitlyn screamed with glee! She was so excited to see the "dirty elephant" get a "bath" and couldn't take her eyes off of him!
Then, we saw Bugs Bunny! Kaitlyn even took a picture with Bugs and Mommy!
From there, we headed to Tava's Jungle Land. It was so neat! First, Kaitlyn and I played in the jungle area. Kaitlyn kept climbing up and sliding down the slide. Each time, she would get braver!
After a little while, we decided to see what else was going on around there. Kaitlyn saw the first ride she wanted to go on, the Jeep Safari! Kaitlyn and grandma rode on it and Kaitlyn was so happy to be driving!
Next, Kaitlyn wanted to ride the hot air balloon ride! Her and grandma went on! As the balloons went up, Kaitlyn twirled their basket faster and faster yelling "weeeee!"
We walked a little ways further and saw it was time to feed the giraffes! How could we miss this? It was quickly our turn and Kaitlyn fed the hungry giraffes a carrot! Kaitlyn wanted to do it again, so she got back in line and Daddy helped her feed the giraffe some greens! They were such good giraffes!
After the giraffe feeding, we decided to ride the elephant! Aunt Jamie, Uncle Joel and Uncle Dennis were all done with their ride now and met us over there. Kaitlyn was a little nervous about riding the elephant, but was such a brave little girl!
Once we finsihed our ride, we headed to the bird show! It was such a great show. The birds were beautiful and Kaitlyn clapped and "woo-hooed" every bird! There we met Auntie Christy, Camaryn, Nana and Papa!
After the bird show, Mommy, Daddy, Grandma and Kaitlyn were all really hungry. We went to get some food and then met up with everyone inside Tava's Jungle. We were there in time to see the animal parade with all of the animals!
After the parade, Kaitlyn got to pet the possum! She wasn't so sure about him!
We decided then that we should head to the butterfly hut. Kaitlyn was in heaven! She ooohhhed and awwwwed at everything that passed and thought they were so pretty! She petted a butterfly and stared at the beautiful fish in the koi pond!
After the butterfly's we headed to what would be our last stop, Shark Experiance! Kaitlyn found her new home! She was so happy and excited we went through twice. She saw so many sharks and Nemos that she was thrilled. She even picked out her own shark at the shop afterwards!
After that, we went on a search for Thomas the Train. Kaitlyn was so excited to see Thomas! After nearly 45 minutes of searching we were informed that Thomas had not yet made it there yet. It looks like we'll be back this summer to see him!
On the way home, Kaitlyn was so sleepy. She was also very sick and ended up throwing up all of her food for the day. From there she rested. She just woke up a few minutes ago in much better spirits asking for a pop tart!
Oh my, Oh my what a night! Let me tell ya, last night was really rough.
Kaitlyn does not like her medicine one bit. We have to wrestle her to get her to take any. It's definatly not any fun!
Kaitlyn fell asleep last night around 10 or so. At 12:30, she woke up with a terrible cough that continued to wake her up in tears every 5 minutes. I tried to get her to take some cough syrup but her "Please, No Mommy" over and over made it really hard.
At 3:10 AM, enough was enough. We were all exhausted and she was so tired that we decided to make her take the medicine. It was no easy task. By 3:30, the cough was gone and she was ready to play and watch Sponge Bob. Mommy and Daddy however were ready for sleep.
At 4:40 AM, the medicine wore off and the cough returned. It was far too early to give her more medicine so we tried to comfort her the best we could. She continued to cough and cry and stay up until we took at shower at 6:30.
We had put a lot of planning into Kaitlyn's Easter Pictures this year. Since this was the only day the props I wanted were going to be here, I decided we should try anyways. Worst case scenario, we wouldn't get any.
Kaitlyn absolutely amazed me. These were some of the best pictures we've gotten in a really long time. I cannot wait for them to get in! Our princess was just that, a beautiful princess, a vision of beauty.
While we waited to view our pictures, we went into the mall and Kaitlyn played for a little while. She had a blast with the tree slide and the other kids. We went, picked out our pictures and now have to patiently wait until April 4 to pick them up.
After that, we tried to meet the Easter Bunny. Kaitlyn's evening caught up with her and she wanted no part of it. We decided to head home. As soon as she was in her car seat, our angel fell fast asleep. She's still asleep now and in a moment, I'm going to join her!
Hopefully, tonight will be better and we'll get plenty of rest for our fun trip tomorrow!
Kaitlyn would like to be sure to wish Camaryn the best of luck in her pageant tomorrow!!
It turns out, Kaitlyn has a sinus infection as well as Seasonal Allergies. She is going to start treatment for both and hopefully be back to our little happy girl soon!
In about an hour, we are going to get in the car and Kaitlyn is going back to the doctor's office.
Her condition isn't really improving. For the most part, she's in good spirits and her normal happy mood. But, she's barely eating. She still has the gas bubble and she's had this cough/runny nose since February 9. It keeps her from sleeping at night and keeps her from napping during the day.
Kaitlyn seems to be feeling better. She's not quite her normal self, but she's getting there. She's a little clingy today, but she's eating and hasn't thrown up. I'm so glad she has her appetite back!
Yesterday, Kaitlyn spent most of the day resting. She was so excited and happy when her daddy got home though. It broke her heart when he left for his softball game.
Kaitlyn's "fancy" Easter Outfit is all ready fo pictures on Saturday. We got her a matching head piece, socks, shoes and a beautiful matching basket. I can't wait to see how the pictures turn out! We probably won't get them back until the beginning of April, so be patient with us ;) The only thing left I want to find is a really soft bunny rabbit for Kaitlyn to have in her pictures.
After we have those pictures done, we are going to go in the "fun" Easter Outfit to say Hello to Mr. Easter Bunny! Hopefully, Kaitlyn will be as excited then to see him as she is now!
Sunday is our day of super, duper fun! We are all heading to Discovery Kingdom, AKA Marine World! It's going tobe so much fun, they have a ton of new stuff for toddlers, including Thomas the Train land and Tavia's Jungle. I know Kaitlyn is going to love Shark Experiance as well. It's going to be a blast!
Kaitlyn is beginning to understand that there is a baby on the way. We've been watching Birth Day and all the baby reality shows to get her to understand that the baby was in the mommy's tummy and now the baby is here to love. She's always referred to my breasts as her's (points and screams "mine") but hasn't done it in a while. She recently started to do it again so, I've started letting her no, now it's for baby food.
In only 6 months, Kaitlyn will trade in her role of Baby for the role of Big Sister and I don't think any of us could be any happier.
Yesterday, Kaitlyn refused to eat breakfast. I didn't think anything of it since she was still incredibly happy and energetic. Around lunch time, Kaitlyn went to Auntie Christy's to play with Camaryn while Mommy had a meeting for work.
Kaitlyn seemed so happy to see Camaryn's puppys and Camaryn herself. When I went to pick her up a couple hours later, I found a not happy little girl.
Kaitlyn was so sick. We got in the car and went to pick up Daddy and headed straight to the Hospital. Kaitlyn was seen immediatly. She had a temperature of 101.5 and was still pretty lethargic. The doctor could hear the rattling in her chest that I had felt and ordered chest x-rays.
I wanted to be there for Kaitlyn, but since I'm pregnant, I couldn't be in the x-ray room with her. Daddy was there though. She had to be put in a device to keep her still and she didn't like it. Outiside the room I could hear her calling for me and crying and it broke my heart.
After what felt like an eternity, she was finally done. The x-rays showed that her lungs looked clear, but she had a HUGE gas bubble in her tummy. It was so large that it was pressing against her diaphram and making it difficult for her to breath.
We were told to give her gas drops and tylenol and to keep an eye on her. She came home and slept and slept.
She is in a better mood this morning, but still really clingy and refusing food. Poor baby!
Kaitlyn does want to tell her Auntie Christy thank you for taking such good care of her and Thank you to Camaryn for wanting to be so loving.
On a brighter note, Kaitlyn's sweetheart pageant pictures came in! Here they are for your enjoyment! You can also see more pics from this past weekend on the picture page!
This morning, Auntie Christina came over and we went to the Yeah Baby Expo! Kaitlyn was so excited to see Dora the Explorer!! As soon as we got in the doors, that was the first place we headed. Kaitlyn got a little shy when she realized it was the REAL Dora and buried her head in my shoulder as hard as could be.
After she said hello and good-by we went to the next booth which was toys! Kaitlyn picked out a new Sponge Bob bucket before we headed over to the petting zoo! Kaitlyn LOVED the petting zoo. She chased all the goats, petted the bunnies and really wanted a duckling! She was such a good girl. From there, we walked all the exhibits, Kaitlyn got candy, her picture taken and had a blast.
Auntie Christina dropped us off at Nana and Papa's house where Daddy was. There she got right to playing! She played and played until we decided to go shopping. She was a good little shopper! She ended up so tired that she fell asleep while we were out and stayed that way well past until we got back to Nana and Papa's house.
When she woke up, she played and then Camaryn got there! The two little girls ate their dinner and played really hard until it was time to go home. Kaitlyn is getting ready for bed with Daddy now and ready for more excitment tomorrow!
Tomorrow Kaitlyn gets to see Grandma and Grandpa and will get to do even more playing in her own house and playset.
Grandma also has a surprise for Kaitlyn! Grandma went out and bought Kaitlyn tickets to see Elmo live in May! We get to sit on the floor nice and close to him! She's going to be so happy!!
Next weekend is even more fun when we head to Discovery Kingdom (Marine World) with everyone, Grandma, Nana, Papa, Auntie Christina, Uncle Brian, Reid, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis, Cousin Camaryn, Aunt Jamie and even Uncle Joel! It's going to be a blast!
We hope everyone had a safe St. Patrick's day and is surrounded by loved ones as we enter this Easter Holiday!
Kaitlyn would like to wish everyone a very safe and happy St. Patrick's Day!
Kaitlyn had a lot of fun yesterday! She did great at Speech Therapy and had so much fun that as soon as she was strapped in her car seat, she fell fast asleep!
When Kaitlyn woke up, we had already picked up Daddy and he was in the car with us. She was so happy to see him after a long day of him working.
Papa came over to help Daddy with some repairs and Kaitlyn was thrilled to see him. She wanted him to stay with her. Of course, when the pizza got there she was easily distracted. She's been asking for pizza all week. This time we learned, she doesn't like the crusts, she would just prefer to feed them to Archie!
Kaitlyn went to bed and woke up this morning at 4 AM wanting in bed with Mommy and Daddy. She must not have gotten the memo that it was Saturday because at 7:30 she woke up and said "uh-oh, Daddy work" she leaned over him and whispered "Daddy, wake-up, work" so I explained, Daddy stays home today and she was happy as can be with that!
Right now, Kaitlyn is dancing to the music her singing Easter Bunny makes, while yelling "yay" and "woo-hoo" she is absolutely precious.
Today, we are going to the Yeah Baby Expo with Auntie Christina. Kaitlyn will get to meet Dora the Explorer and play in the petting zoo. Afterwards, we are going to try and brave the mall so our princess can meet the Easter Bunny!
Be sure to check out the site tomorrow when it'll be all ready for Easter!
We hope everyone has a magical St Patty's day filled with lots of fun and green!
On Tuesday, we went to have an ultra sound to see the baby. We found out that Kaitlyn is going to have a little brother!! He is looking so cute and so healthy! Check out his website to see all the ultra sound pictures. She was being so good, but as soon as the baby came on the screen, she was fast asleep!
On Tuesday night, Kaitlyn, Daddy and I went to Nana and Papa's for dinner! We were joined by Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis, Cami, Aunt Jamie and Uncle Joel. The girls had a blast playing together and forcing Uncle Joel into their pink room for more playing!
We went home and Kaitlyn was still pretty round up! She finally fell asleep around 11. We were so happy! Then at 3 Am we heard "WAKE UP MOMMY!" She was wide awake and ready to play. We played for an hour thinking she would go back to sleep and boy were we wrong. Finally, she started watching Lady and the Tramp while Mommy and Daddy got some sleep.
On Wednesday morning, we took Daddy to work and then Kaitlyn went with mommy to the doctor's office to check on the baby's development. The doctor has a hard time finding the baby's heartbeat so we got to see him again on the ultra sound machine. Kaitlyn was a very good little girl!
Wednesday night, it was just mommy and Kaitlyn. Daddy had a softball game with Papa. Daddy got home pretty late but Kaitlyn insisted on waiting up for him. I think she knew that he would have french fries to share when he got home.
Thursday was a relaxing day with Kaitlyn and Mommy! Kaitlyn got to watch her movies and play while Mommy cleaned.
Today we started out the day by taking Daddy to work, getting some yummy breakfast and then going Easter Basket shopping! Kaitlyn picked out several egg decorating kits, we got them all so we can have a blast coloring eggs in a couple of weeks. We also got a ton of goodies for Princess Kaitlyn and Princess Cami's Easter baskets! I can't wait! we even got some pretty bulbs for Kaitlyn to plant with mommy so we can have our own flower garden.
From there, we went to Mommy's office and then to the mall! Mommy's ring had a diamond fall out so we needed to drop it off for repair!
This afternoon, Kaitlyn has speech therapy! We're hoping to have a wonderful weekend and wish everyone else the same!
Saturday morning we rose and shone nice and early. After mommy ran a couple of errands, we got Kaitlyn all dressed and headed to Nana and Papa's where Cami was already playing hard outside! The girls got to play in the grass and flowers on the BEAUTIFUL spring day! After lunch, Aunt Jamie, Uncle Joel, Aunt Christy and Uncle Dennis all joined us at Nana and Papa's. We loaded up and headed to the zoo for a day of fun with the animals!
The girls were great! Kaitlyn loved the flamingos, the monkeys and all the birds. She walked along the feet prints on the ground and enjoyed the outdoors.
After the zoo, Kaitlyn, Mommy, Daddy, Nana and Papa all went to have dinner at the Cheesecake factory before calling it a day! Kaitlyn fell asleep nice and early and slept so good!
Sunday morning, we got up super early. None of us realized that the time change went into effect, so it wasn't as bright and early as we wanted! We headed to Grandma and Grandpa's so Daddy could go with Grandpa, Uncle Scotty and Uncle Paul to a gun show. In the meantime, Mommy, Grandma and Kaitlyn went to breakfast! Kaitlyn was such a good girl and really loved her orange juice. We got back in the car and headed to do some shopping! Kaitlyn got spoiled (like always!) with her Nemo and Scooby-Doo "candy" (if she wants to think fruit snacks are candy, I'm A-OK with that!), a new book, new clothes and fun stuff!
After shopping, Kaitlyn was beat. She fell asleep while Grandma unloaded her car and then we went shopping for a new car for mommy. Mommy is really picky and still hasn't found anything that she likes, so we'll have to keep looking and find something before the lil' bean makes his/her apperance!
Yesterday was another hot day! Kaitlyn was up all night so she was pretty cranky Monday. We think she is suffering from seasonal allergies. She borke out in awful hives last night all over her body. Only benadryl would get rid of them.
Today, we took Daddy to work and are soon going to go and have the ultra sound done so we can see how Kaitlyn's little brother or sister is looking!
At long last, here is Kaitlyn's pageant video! The lighting in the building is terrible, so please excuse that! Aunt Christy took the video and tried her hardest to get Kaitlyn's attention and videograph it. We only have video of her competing and none of the crowning, but it sure is cute!
So far, this has been a busy week for Kaitlyn! Yesterday afternoon, she went with Nana and Papa to spend some time with them since she didn't see them all weekend. She got to play and have fun until Daddy went and got her. She was happy when she got home and I love that!
This morning, Grandma came over to watch Kaitlyn while Mommy had work done at the dentist. Grandma took Kaitlyn shopping and told her she could pick out any toy she wanted! Kaitlyn was hesitant and in the end got a Mickey Mouse ball. She came home and has been watching Dumbo and Elmo and eating some yummy food.
She is growing so fast. I can't believe in a few short months, she's going to be a big sister.
