As of today, Kaitlyn is a whole month older! I cannot believe 3 months have already passed since her birthday. Before we know it, Kaitlyn is going to be 3 years old! Don't worry, we've already started planning the big birthday bash, you know it's my favorite time of year! Her birthday falls on a Saturday this year, so be sure to mark your calendar for November 17 and be ready to wrangle your way to celebrate cowgirl style with us! Kaitlyn is growing like a weed! She's so tall. She's at a little over 34 inches now and weighs 28 pounds. While she's a little skinny for 3T, she's too tall for 2T now. So we love belts and adjustable waists! Kaitlyn is getting so smart. She can get anywhere she wants since she's mastered door knobs, climbing, crawling and now locking and unlocking doors. She's getting so good at talking, her vocabulary grows every day. She loves to run, to jump, to ribbit like a frog (which means getting on the floor and hopping like one too!) and ends every night saying good night to everyone she loves (believe me that is a long list!). Kaitlyn loves to read. She'll spend hours looking at her books, as though she's trying to make out the words. It's amazing to watch our baby being such a good little girl. Kaitlyn is such a loving little girl. She's so good with her please and thank yous, her sorry's, her hugs and kisses. She gets so excited to see those that love her so much. As another month quickly comes to an end and another begins, I wonder if I'll have time to blink before her next birthday? 1/16/07
Happy Tuesday everyone! Kaitlyn is a bit of a grumpy butt today. She woke up with a cold and was not in the modd for anything but hugs and resting. She's all stopped up and very irritable! This morning, we had dentist appointments! It was Kaitlyn's first and she was a bit hesitant to get into the chair. She did though and showed off her teeth! She was okay with the mirror in her mouth (my little diva) but nothing else. So, we have been referred to a pediatric dentist for an exam. Kaitlyn's teeth are coming in perfect the dentist said, the spacing is good, the sizes are good, they appear strong and healthy. All good news. Kaitlyn fell asleep right after the appointment and is still asleep now. I'm hoping she is having dreams about beating that cold up! She seems to be resting comfortably, which is nice. I have a passion for high density, loose eye shadow. I love the little pots of fun color. I store them in a heart shaped basket in the bathroom since I don't wear them every day. While I love them, they can be a bit messy and not quite as easy to use or wear as basic eye shadow. In the basic I have quite a few colors, turquoise, black, 4 different browns, a few different golds, purple, silver and so on. Well, I should say had. While I was uploading video last night I thought Kaitlyn was watching the Woof Woof (Lady and the Tramp). That was until I went into the bathroom to get the last of my medication and discovered a mess! As it turns out, Kaitlyn really likes turquoise, gold and native sun brown loose eye shadow. It was everywhere! All over the floor, walls, clothes, robes, towels, and of course my princess. Kaitlyn had it all over her white sweater, white stockings, skirt, turtleneck and all over her face. It was a shimmery mess. She was so proud of herself and her pretty make-up until Mommy and Daddy reminded her of how bad it was. Believe me, it was hard not to laugh. She kept fluttering her eye lashes to show us everywhere it was! We had to run a bath while Kaitlyn helped me clean up. Luckily we got it all off of her before a rash started, and I learned a very valuable lesson, ALWAYS lock the bathroom door. In other news, it appears Kaitlyn has caught Daddy's virus that caused his eye infection. Kaitlyn has a cold sore. We are treating and watching it now to make sure it isn't bothering her. Her daddy feels terrible. For the next few days Kaitlyn isn't to be kissing on the lips, sharing drinks or utensils. Poor baby! 1/15/07 (again)
As promised, Pageant Videos!! The first video is of Camaryn, then Kaitlyn then Martina during their turn on stage: This video features Kaitlyn and Camaryn discussing the important things in life: This last video is of the awarding of tropheys! Congratulations beautiful little girls! The three of you were amazing and we are so proud of you! 1/15/07
Kaitlyn had a busy, busy day. This morning, she had a play date with her friend Daniel. She had a lot of fun and did a lot of playing. She played so good that she slept the whole way home and an hour after that! This evening, we headed out to see Camaryn in her pageant. We had not intended on putting Kaitlyn in the pageant, since we were going to limit ourselves to one per month. Then, we got there and Kaitlyn threw a fit to go on stage. She wanted to compete. We were not at all prepared and didn't even bring pictures, but she's the princess. Nana sponsered her so she could have her turn in the spotlight. Camaryn's age division was up first. Camaryn did amazing. She won Angel Face, Full Body Photogenic and Her age division! CONGRATULATIONS Camaryn! Kaitlyn's age went up next. Kaitlyn loved seeing the tropheys. She spun and took a bow and smiled and smiled. Kaitlyn came first runner up in her age division. Martina went up next. This was Martina's first pageant and she looked like a beautiful princess. She won her age division too!! Congratulations to our little princesses! I'll post videos as soon as they are uploaded and start posting pictures now! 1/14/06
Happy Sunday!! Kaitlyn had fun today! She got to play at home with Archie for most of the morning. She took a relaxing and fun bath that resulted in 1" of water on the bathroom floor. She went with me to take Archie to Daddy at Nana and Papa's. After we dropped Archie off, we stopped at Mervyn's, then headed to Grandma's. We loaded into Grandma's car and went shopping. Kaitlyn helped pick out presents for Connor's birthday! Kaitlyn picked out a drum set like hers and a Thomas the Train steam engine. She fell asleep on the way to Connor's birthday party, but woke up once we arrived. Connor's birthday party was held at a special place that is filled with jump houses! After she finished waking up, the Queen of jumping took her throne. She had a blast making new friends, throwing balls and jumping. I uploaded pictures onto the picture page. After the party, we went back to Grandma and Grandpa's house where Daddy, Archie, Uncle Paul, Auntie Beth, Auntie Christina and Uncle Brian were all waiting for us. Before dinner, Kaitlyn put on a mini fashion show of two of her pageant outfits and her nearly finished Valentine's Day outfit. Here is Kaitlyn's sleepwear. There are matching bloomers underneath and I also made matching capris that she might wear instead, I haven't decided yet. She also has marabou trimmed slippers and hair ties. ![]() ![]() ![]() Here is Kaitlyn's pageant dress. I still need to make the hair bows, do more sequins in the skirt and make the socks. ![]() ![]() ![]() Here is Kaitlyn's v-day outfit. She needs a 3T for length, but it's too big in the waist, so I still need to make her belt and I really want to find a couple of heart shaped tie thingies to cinch the shirt with. And of course, she still needs the hairbows! ![]() Comments are always welcomed! ![]() I hope everyone had a great weekend!! 1/13/07
Happy Saturday everyone! Kaitlyn did wonderful at Speech therapy yesterday. She was sent home with her Speech cards so we can practice at home. She has mastered the "t" and "s" and "x" sounds and just needs practice combining them with more sounds. After Speech therapy we went to JoAnn's to get some supplies for the pageant outfits. We came home, rested and then Kaitlyn fell asleep. Auntie Christy came over and we were some crafty folks! I am proud to say that Kaitlyn's pageant dress is complete! I may sew more sequins into the skirt, but that's if I have spare time and nothing to do. Kaitlyn's sleep wear is also complete. I even finished the shoes. The winter wear outfit is complete too! All that is left to do now is hair bows for her pageant dress, socks for the pageant dress and we just found out that there is a whole other category she can enter, Western Wear so we need to do that outfit. Last night, Kaitlyn went to Nana and Papa's house. She had so much fun playing with Cami! The both did lots of summersaults, flips and cooking! Today, Kaitlyn has been able to play most of the day. She napped while she went shopping with mommy and now she is waiting for Daddy and Papa to get done with the new door so she can go eat! Tomorrow we may be going to a birthday party for Kailtyn's friend, and we are going to Grandma and Grandpa's where she can model all of her pageant attire! Have a wonderful evening! 1/11/07 PM
Kaitlyn is sleeping right now, and I'm bored. I'm so used to playing with her at this time of night that for her to be sound asleep is so odd to me. I've done nearly all of the prep work for the release of the Valentine's Day website and am quite pleased with the outcome. I nearly cannot wait for February to release it! Look forward to new graphics, new features and of course new pictures. Kaitlyn had a full day today. At around lunch time she had a suprise! Camaryn and Aunt Christy came over! Kaitlyn was so excited to see both of them. You never would have guessed that they just saw eachother Tuesday night! Kaitlyn and Camaryn played pretty good together. Kaitlyn decided to feed Camaryn applesauce and share her Nemo movie with her. They both had a blast tormenting poor Archie and of course in between all the sharing, they had to play the "No, mine, mine, mine" game. Fortunatly, they are at the age where most of the time they settle the issue on their own. Camaryn was very proud of herself, she was able to climb up everything Kaitlyn did and did everything she did. Both girls copied eachother's words, actions and of course copied which toys to play with. I always REALLY enjoy watching them play. The bond they share is amazing. I'm sure strangers would be more likely to guess them as sisters than cousins. After Camaryn left, Kaitlyn raided the pantry to find "brother bear" to eat. Brother Bear from the Bearstien Bears in on the label of her individual serving of macaroni and cheese. She had to have it right then. Once it was heated, she got her own "poon" and dug in. That was until she heard Daddy's car. Then, she bolted to the door, jumping up and down squeling "Daddy Home!" over and over. He came in, got his kisses and she was back to eating. When Kaitlyn saw Daddy grab a piece of pizza she wanted "pisa" too. So of course, she got a piece of pizza, sat in her bean bag chair with Sponge Bob on while mommy sewed Cousin Cami's dress. Then, she slowly fell asleep. She only got a few bites into that pizza. She's growing so much every day. Her hair is really growing. We need to go and see Jen about a trim before the pageant. Kaitlyn has speech therapy in the morning. We've decided not to go to the go-see. I'm still on pain meds so I'd rather not drive to San Fran. I keep having migraines at night thanks to my new soft food, no soda diet, so I'm not sleeping enough to feel rested for the trip. I know there will be other go-sees and other bookings so no worries. I hope everyone has had an absolutely amazing day. We send our love, hugs and kisses your way! 1/11/07
The following images were made possible by Victor Strelkovsky at Photo911.biz. He is incredibly talented and created these works of art from photos that I am sure you might recognize. Click on any picture to be re-directed to his website where you can create your own works of art! Wish Kaitlyn luck, these images were submitted for her pageant on January 21!

Yesterday, we needed to do some grocery shopping. I opted to do it in the morning instead of the evening. Typically, Kaitlyn rides in the cart. She doesn't like to, but it's easier to watch her. Yesterday I ws still in some pain, and wasn't reeally up for the struggle of putting her in the cart and strapping her in. So, we decided that she would walk. Kaitlyn refuses to hold hands lately. She did so incredibly good in Safeway. We had a lot of shopping to do and she went up and down every single aisle with me. The only thing she asked for was a box of Macaronni and Cheese shaped like a dinosaur. Kaitlyn ran, jumped, hopped, skipped and walked down every aisle, helping to put things in the basket and telling me "this way" over and over. To reward her good behavior, I gave her a chocolate donut. She was thrilled, she was in love, she was satisfied. We made one more stop on the way home and she did great in that store too. When we got home, she had finished all the chocolate and sprinkles and asked for "Nemo Tv, Pleaaas" so I turned on Nemo. This is what I found 3 mintues later: ![]() That's right. Kaitlyn had so much fun running and playing in the store that she took her nap at 10:30 am! Kaitlyn's pageant outfits are coming along great. Her pageant dress is about 75% done being stoned and only really has to be attatched to the skirt and a bustle made. Her winter wear just needs snaps at the straps. Her Sleepwear is adorable and only needs to have the stitches put in the elastic and the marabou trim added. Hopefully it'll all be done tonight and we can get some pics of her in each outfit. Tomorrow, Kaitlyn has speech therapy. I think her therapist is going to be really impressed. Kaitlyn picked up the sound "sh and th and s" all sounds that are really hard to master after a tongue clipping. She's also picked up at least 100 words. She immitates everything we say and is up to 3-4 word sentences. We are really proud of her. Kaitlyn has also been asked to go to the Le Top Go-see tomorrow. If we are feeling up to it, we'll go straight there from speech therapy so wish the princess luck! Have a great day! 1/9/07
I realized that Kaitlyn needed new pics for her pageant and we never did officially do 2 year pics, so today we went to the mall in hopes of getting some pictures! Kaitlyn was a bit grumpy when we were leaving the house, so I did not have high hopes. When we got there, I got Kaitlyn dressed. She stayed still while I put her hair up and then she completely and totally suprised and impressed me. Kaitlyn did incredible. I was so proud of her. You can see all of the pictures from today in the picture section! When we first walked into the camera room she saw the big number 2 and started clapping and saying "2, 2, 2" Then she did the same with the 5 and the 8. It was adorable. We stopped by the fabric store on the way home. Kaitlyn didn't want to hold hands, but she did a good job. She attempted to drag a spool of yarn through the store. I told her no and that it wasn't a toy. She said "No Toy?" and put it back. After that she would point to everything and say "No toy" I had told Kaitlyn she could have 1 piece of candy for being such a good girl. I gave her a Hershey's kiss, and Archie stole it. She yelled at him and I gave her another. When she finished, she pointed to the candy dish and said "More Candy" to which I told her no. She then thought that perhaps I didn't understand her, because there is no way I would tell her no. So, looked at me and sternly said "More Candy" pointed to the candy dish, opened her mouth wide and pointed in there as well. After I finished laughing, I told her no. Now she's being a good girl, driving her car and playing with her baby. I hope everyone had a wonderful Tuesday! 1/8/07
What a day it has been. Last night, Kaitlyn fell asleep at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Since I had a dentist appointment this morning, we let her sleep. It's a good thing we did. I have been experiencing jaw problems for the last few days and my doctor's appointment turned into emergency gum surgery. Grandma brought Kaitlyn home right about the same time I came home. At first the 15 shots of novacaine lulled me into a false sense of security. I figured it wasn't that bad. Of course, a couple hours passed and I realized I was wrong. Kaitlyn and I headed to Walgreens to pick up my pain medication and special mouth rinse. As soon as we walked in the doors she said "knock knock, mommy Kaitlyn down" and pointed down. I asked if she was going to hold my hand and she told me no. So, I gave her the "if you walk away..." warning and let her down. She slowly made her way through the store pointing out everything she saw. We when reached the pharmacy area, she patted the chair and told me "here go Mommy" and sat in the one next to it. She was really sweet. By the time we got home, I was in pain. So, I called Kaitlyn's daddy and I shut the office. We are so lucky to both have jobs that allow us to put our family first. Daddy was home in 20 minutes and started to take care of us. Kaitlyn watched Nemo twice and is now napping. To keep my mind off the pain and upset tummy I'm sewing the first 100 of a thousand sequins in the skirt of Kaitlyn's pageant dress. Now that my eyes and hands are hurting, I'm going to work on the site a bit. Just a reminder, Kaitlyn and Camaryn have a pageant in Modesto January 21. If you are interested in attending let Christy or I know and we'll get you all the information. Have a wonderful day! 1/7/07 PM
Today was a good day. Kaitlyn got to do her favorite thing: play. She played hard too let me tell ya. We spent the afternoon at Grandma and Grandpa's house while the boys worked on Kaitlyn's house. I know she can't wait until it's done. It's nearly there. By next Sunday it should be pretty close, at least close enough for her to play in it some. It was a beautiful day today. Kaitlyn enjoyed hours and hours of playing in the sun with Archie and Johnny. She drove all around in her Cadillac like the princess she is. She basked in the attention she received from her aunts and uncles. She had a good day. I have new video to share with you below. I told you that I love the new camcorder and would be updating often ;) I hope you like the new website design. I'm not sure if I'm thrilled about it, so don't be shocked if it's different tomorrow, I just have to decide if editing 57 pages of code is worth it hee hee. Have a wonderful night and start of the week! 1/7/07
We always knew Kaitlyn was a smart girl. She's always caught on to things quickly and is quick to figure things out on her own. The more she talks, the more obvious her intellegiance is. Last night, we were at Grandma and Grandpa's. Arche fell asleep on their couch so Kaitlyn covered him up so he wouldn't get cold. She kissed his head and decided that he needed his "night night book" She ran into her room at Grandma and Grandpa's and grabbed a book. One of her sets there is a box of different picture books. She brought one out and read Archie the entire book. She showed him the pictures told him what they were and didn't skip a single page. I was so proud of my princess! 1/5/07
We're back from Speech Therapy. Miss Sarah was really impressed with Kaitlyn's improvement! Kaitlyn started Speech Therapy on October 21 able to speak about 15 words clearly and not yet stringing them together. Now,. 2 1/2 months later, Kaitlyn's vocabulary has sky rocketed. She's easily speaking a couple hundred words, imitating everything we say and stringing together 2-3 word combinations. Most of her words are clear enough for even a stranger to understand. If for some reason I don't know what she's trying to say, she'll help me by showing me, walking me or saying it even slower to me. We're really proud of her! Kaitlyn's speech therapist said she is incredibly close to what is considered normal for her age, which makes us so happy! She is on to her second set of speech cards, and while it took her over a month last time to get through half of them, she mastered 7 of 16 today in her first session with them. Kaitlyn has a new daily game. It's called the Kaitlyn's Naked Game. Kaitlyn had decided that she's just too pretty for clothes. As soon as she's dressed, she completely strips naked, even her diaper. We're trying to use this time to potty train, but Kaitlyn has no interest in going on the potty. She'll sit on the potty for 30-45 minutes, get off and pee in the corner. If I didn't hate cleaning it up so much, it would be a lot cuter. Kaitlyn also has a new facination with Finding Nemo. It has to be on the TV 24 hours a day. She doesn't usually pay attention to it (unless it's close to nap or bedtime), but as soon as she notices it's off she'll tell us "Oh-No Nemo bye bye" "Uh On Nemo's Mommy bye bye" It's really cute and given me a new respect for what a great movie it truly is! Kaitlyn's had a good week. We look forward to the weekend ahead! Kaitlyn's room is rearranged to fit all the toys and her papa is going to come over today to install her new shelves. Then, she'll be as happy as can be! We wish everyone a safe, relaxing and happy weekend!! 1/5/07
We have a new video! We shot this last night and it's really cute! It's Kaitlyn saying hi to people! Enjoy! I have more to write, but it'll have to wait until we get back from Kaitlyn's speech therapy :-)
