Sorry this is so late! We had to wait for comcast to get out here and replace our modem!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by their loved ones and lots of yummy food!
We had a Fantastic Holiday! The day started early at Grandma and Grandpa?s! We had some delicious food with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Christina, Auntie Beth, Uncle Brian, Uncle Paul, Uncle Scotty and cousin Felecia! Kaitlyn had a blast running and playing, and of course getting in and out of her Cadillac!
Kaitlyn napped on the way to Nana and Papa?s, once we were there she decided that the fire was so warm and cozy she just had to finish her nap in front of it. When she woke up she was ready to go! We had a delicious meal while the girls played and played.
Thanksgiving is the perfect time to reflect on all the things that we are incredibly grateful for. We are grateful that we are surrounded by an amazing support system of loving, caring family and friends. We are so grateful that we have a spacious roof over our heads, full bellys, and everything we could ever ask for. We are incredibly grateful that Kaitlyn has a cousin and best friend that she is close to not only in age and location, but also in relationships. It makes us so happy to see Kaitlyn play with Camaryn. She has so much fun. When it comes down to it, we are grateful that we are living a good life without any complaints.
At 4 AM this morning, Kaitlyn participated in her first ?black Friday? She went with Mommy, Grandma, Auntie Christina, Auntie Beth and Auntie Jamie to do some Holiday shopping! I?m proud to say that other than Camaryn and Kaitlyn just about everyone else has a nice big check next to their name. Now, I get to start the fun job of wrapping presents. I honestly cannot wait to get started. We are actually on our way out to get some more wrapping materials.
Kaitlyn was being a bad girl the other night. She kept hitting Archie, and we DO NOT allow that! He is a member of this family and deserves to be loved and respected. She would not listen when we told her no. Her daddy said she needed a spanking (which I am adamantly against) so that she would learn and understand. Kaitlyn looked at him and walked over to where he was sitting and said ?n-n-n-n-noooooo Daddy? and put his arms around his neck and gave him a HUGE kiss on the cheek! He decided she didn?t need to be in trouble!
In the blink of an eye, Kaitlyn, our little princess turned 2. Somehow, time managed to pass us so incredibly quickly. Only two years ago, we anxiously awaited her arrival. We carefully cleaned everything, laid out her first outfit and packed our bags waiting for time to hurry up and pass so that we could meet our angel. At 9:02 PM on Novmeber 17, 2004 we hit a time bump. All of a sudden, we were in warp speed. I desperatly clung to every smell, every memory, every sight; religiously writing everything possible in her baby book and snapping pictures every 3.5 seconds. It didn't work, time didn't slow down.
After the first year, I figured that she had grown so much and it slipped by us so fast, it is impossible that it could happen again. The second year had fewer milestones, she could already walk, climb and communicate with us. The second year was all fun, slow fun, and memories galore. I was right about the memories. But, on November 17, 2005 at 9:02 PM, time hit another bump and everything went even faster. In less time than it takes to boil an egg Kaitlyn turned into a little girl. She morphed into this typically well mannered little lady. She taught us what SHE likes, what SHE wants and WHO SHE is. She has taught us so much and become such an independent, headstrong and amazing little girl.
In two years, Kaitlyn has managed to grasp a hold of everything that we are. She has changed us in so many ways, and I am so incredibly proud and happy to have her in our lives. I know that Kaitlyn is destined to do and be many great things. Strangers notice this of her on first meeting. It's who she is. I feel so honored to have been intrusted to care for and raise Kaitlyn. I am so proud of the oppurtunity to be her mother. I am so happy that I have the oppurtunity to introduce her to the world. I get to be the one that introduces her to the moon, the stars, the flowers, the bees, everything imaginable. I also get the oppurtunity to be re-introduced to the moon, the stars, the flowers and the bees. Kaitlyn makes every day a brighter happier day. She is the prime example of what it is to revisit the world through a child's eyes. We love her so much.
Kaitlyn's birthday party was today. After months of hard work, it was a brown and pink success! Considering that Kaitlyn had a double ear infection (we made a trip to urgent care this morning), she was in great spirits and had a blast. There were a lot of friends and relatives there who love her very much. She had no desire to open presents, but found some joy in quite a few of them and in the end, made out like a bandit! After the clean-up, we did another birthday cake I had bought for her to have on her birthday (she didn't get to have it because she was sick and fell asleep), Kaitlyn eagerly and excitedly ate her Banana Split Ice Cream cake! When she was done, she practiced using the doors on her brand new Cadillac, courtesy of Grandma and Grandpa!
Thank you so much for everyone who helped out with Kaitlyn's party. It was a lot of work and couldn't have been done without you.
We should have some great birthday pictures up tomorrow :)
Happy Birthday to our beautiful little princess! I have a lot to write, but no time right now. Be sure to check back later for an update! In the meantime, check out her new headshots on the picture page!
My, My My. It's the day before Kaitlyn's birthday and we have some bad news. She's sick. Not a little cold, or the sniffles, but full blown vomitting, fever and really pink cheeks. She, has always, is in pleasant spirits. I put her back in her jammies and set up a bed for her in the living room so she could cuddle with Archie. Hopefully, she'll be done with it by Tomorrow. We'd hate for her to not fully enjoy her birthday!
If you have PBS sprout, please watch tomorrow. I submitted a birthday card for Kaitlyn and I would love to see if it's shown. If it is, I'll be sure to catch video and upload it :)
Kaitlyn is now represented by the Ford Modeling agency for all of her print and fit work! Generations will continue to represent her for all commercial and film work.
This is awesome, it'll mean a lot more opportunities for her and with that, a lot more fun!
She is officially on their website, you can see her at:
http://www.fordmodels.com
Just click on San Francisco, then select children. It's in alphabetical order. The picture is from May, but her new headshots should be in today and hopefully by next week the new pictures should be up!!
Last night we took Kaitlyn and Cami to get their pictures taken. You can see them on the picture page. They were both so cute, but by howdy that photographer earned her money with those two!!
On November 15, 2006, Ford Model's is opening their San Francisco office. We got the notice today that Kaitlyn's agency, Generation's has merged with Ford! Kaitlyn is now a FORD model! How exciting is that???
First we would like to thank Aunt Linda, Uncle Earnest, Cory, Ariel and Jake for the very generous birthday present! I know Kaitlyn will be able to put it to good use! Thank you also to Raquel and Domingo for the very nice Birthday gift!
Kaitlyn had a pretty good weekend! Friday night she went with us to Nana and Papa's for dinner. She got to play with Cami, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis, Aunt Jamie and Uncle Joel. She was super tired by the time we left!
Saturday, Kaitlyn went to Daniel's second birthday and had a blast! She was running all over the place! After, we visited Grandma and Grandpa!
Sunday we went to a Memorial in the memory of her Step-Grandfather that passed last month. We saw Great-Grandma Mauda and learned that Uncle Bobby is the new Governor of the lodge.
A while later, we went to Grandma and Grandpas, so did Nana, Papa, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis and Cami. They saw all the neat things Kaitlyn has ready for her party!
We are super duper happy to announce that the weather forecast this weekend calls for sunshine! Yay!!! Keep doing the rain, rain stay away dance everybody!
Kaitlyn's new headshots should be in any day now! As soon as they are, I'll excitedly post them!
Kaitlyn had a great day today!! It started with taking Daddy to work and heading to San Francisco!! Kaitlyn had a go-see for Gymboree, she is on hold with them for a shoot on November 22 and 23. She did really good! She met an online friend named Sarai who is going to be at the same shoot!
After that, we met with JE Model Management to determine if it's in Kaitlyn's best interest to change agencies, we'll let you know when we decide.
We came home for a little while before we went and got Daddy at work. On the way home, Kaitlyn fell asleep so she stayed home with Daddy while Mommy went and got her hair done. She was a good girl for Daddy and happy when her Mommy got home.
We saw the 10 day forecast for Kaitlyn's birthday party and it looks like rain :( So, we will more than likely be moving everything indoors. Bummer, guess we don't need a jump house afterall. I'm sure it'll still be great. We are sad to announce that Aunt Barbara and Uncle Dean may not be able to make it. Uncle Dean had surgery yesterday and Kaitlyn's wants to be sure that he gets well soon:
Kaitlyn is getting really good about sitting on the potty. I know as soon as she goes the first time, she'll be easy to potty train. It's just getting her to go haha.
Kaitlyn said Camaryn clear as day today. I was so proud of her. Kaitlyn has speech therapy tomorrow and in the afternoon we are going to take her to Trick's Gymnastics. If she has fun, we're going to sign her up!
We have a very busy weekend, Daniel's Birthday on Saturday and on Sunday, Grandpa Zeke's memorial luncheon followed by dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's. Hopefully we'll be able to tie up all the loose ends on Sunday for Kaitlyn's party.
I am off on Kaitlyn's birthday, so we are going to take a trip to Toys "r" us and then work on birthday baking! We have a lot of cookies, cakes and cupcakes to make on top of the food! We'd better get busy I suppose!
Have a wonderful evening everyone! And be sure to check out the new feature on Kaitlyn's page at the front bottom!
Kaitlyn is learning and talking so much more every day. I am so happy for her and proud of her!
She likes to tease her daddy when he is playing video games. If someone gets a hit off of his pitcher, she says "see ya" it's so cute. She also in complete control of Archie. She tells him, No, Down, Bad, Out and pulls him where he should be. If he is out of water, she brings us his bowl and tells us. If he is out of food, she takes his bowl and fills it, if he has to go out, she lets us know and brings his leash to us. It's so cute to see how responsible she is with her Archie.
For the past couple of days, Kaitlyn has been drinking out of a cup. She's long given up sippy cups but we had her using the cups with straws. Well, she's been so good and hasn't spilled anything at all! She walks around with her little cup and sips here and there. It's really cute to watch. She's such a big girl!!
Kaitlyn's birthday party is only 10 days away!! I can't believe she's turning 2 already. It seems like she was born just last night. Her birthday party is going along well. We have nearly everything prepped and a good plan for getting everything done in time. So far, we are expecting 40 adults and 12 kids. We still have 7 *maybe* kids. If you haven't RSVP'd yet, please do so.
Tomorrow Kaitlyn has a go-see for her Gymboree shoot. She is on hold for November 21 and November 22 to shoot. They just want to be sure the clothes fit. We expect her Gymboree ad to be online anytime now!! She was wanted today for a go-see for fit modeling, but we had to turn it down :(
We hope everyone has a warm day!! Keep your fingers crossed for Sun on the 18th!!
Kaitlyn would first like to wish Uncle Scotty a huge Happy Birthday!!
Yesterday, Kaitlyn went to Disney on Ice! She had so much fun! She ohhhed and awwed and was so enthralled with everything she saw. She woke up with a head cold, so by the last presentation, Lilo and Stitch, she kept saying Night Night. As her mommy and Daddy we were so proud of her!
After that, we headed home for a few minutes to get Archie. We went to Nana and Papa's house for a while before Kaitlyn, Mommy and Nana went out shopping for Mommy to get Uncle Scotty and Aunt Jamie's birthday presents and some supplies for Kaitlyn's birthday party.
We all went to Denny's for dinner before calling it a night.
Sunday morning, Kaitlyn played and played with her Daddy while Mommy headed out to get more goodies for the treat boxes. Kaitlyn then took Daddy to Nana and Papa's house while her and Mommy went to get even more birthday stuff! I can't believe it's only 12 days until Kaitlyn's birthday and 13 days until the big event!!
Kaitlyn played a little with Cami when we were done shopping. Kaitlyn didn't feel good, so it wasn't a whole lot of fun. We headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house for some good times and to celebrate some birthdays.
Kaitlyn napped the whole way there and was anxious to play when we arrived. Kaitlyn practiced some of her new words and phrases: see ya, come on, here go, stop, grandpa, sorry and even said Brian. Auntie Christina was not impressed with her saying Brian!
Kaitlyn and I would like to give a HUGE thank you to Grandma, Aunt Beth, Auntie Christina, and Aunt Jamie for all of their hard work today. We were able to decorate all of the goodie boxes and re-label all of the bubbles. Brian also gets a huge thank you for his assistance in the entertainment department! It looks like this party is going to be a great success! Thank you again everyone. I know it may not have been fun, but I sure know we appreciate it!
I recently got in touch with the photography who shot Kaitlyn's first headshots. The ones that she started the business with.
Well, Kaitlyn is indeed featured on her site, in 2 different places! You can see her by clicking on either picture below! If anyone is looking for a photographer, she is highly recommended by myself and Kaitlyn!
Kaitlyn had a blast last night. She got to stay with Nana and Papa and cousin Cami while Mommy and Daddy went with Auntie Christy and Uncle Dennis to see Borat. Great movie, absolutely hilarious!
Now, we are going to get ready to see Minnie and Mickey on Ice!!
Kaitlyn had a great Halloween yesterday! She drove with me to take Daddy to work and give him lots of kisses. Then, we headed to do a little shopping to pick up mommy's witch hat (it sure is fitting ;) ). Kaitlyn was so good in the store and stayed right by me the entire time.
Once we got home, Kaitlyn realized she was just in time for her FAVORITE! Sesame Street. While Kaitlyn watched Sesame Street, I got to work making two pumpkin cakes. When they were ready we met with Auntie Christy and Cousin Camaryn. Together we headed to a Halloween party. We saw so many princesses, octopuses, elephants, cowgirls and fireman. Kaitlyn and Cami both had a great time playing with all of the kids and all of the toys.
Kaitlyn feel asleep on the way home. She was a tired munchkin from all the playing. While we were driving, her agency called us! Kaitlyn is wanted by Gymboree for another shoot. She is only hold for November 20 and November 21. And, on Wednesday Macy's wants to see her for a go-see for a President's Day Sale Ad.
At around 5, I woke her up and put her costume on her. We headed to Grandma and Grandpa's to go trick or treating and to show her costume. Kaitlyn was an adorable little witch! We got in Grandma's car with Daddy and headed to Boo at the Zoo! We met up with Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis, Cami, Nana and Papa for some trick and treating!! The girls were so cute! They both participated in a costume parade, filling their buckets up with treats, and watching all the other kids in amazement. Kaitlyn did so good and partied hard until 8 PM! From there we went on a drive through were Daddy used to live before heading back to Grandma and Grandpa's. There were only a few trick or treaters so late, but Kaitlyn was certainly intrigued! Kaitlyn decided to watch Nightmare on Elm Street with us and giggle at all the parts I thought were scary. She is her daddy's daughter!
This morning, we took Daddy to work and Kaitlyn went to a Macy's go see. She was incredibly cute and full of life in all three outfits! On the way back, we took Daddy lunch and then came home to see Archie, her bestest friend!
Kaitlyn watched Sesame Street and I noticed that they were being awfully quiet together. I went to check on them and discovered that Kaitlyn's bucket of candy was in the living room as well! Archie had some tootsie rolls and Little Miss Kaitlyn was munching on a tootsie roll!! I asked her "what do you have little girl?" And she proudly exclaimed "CANDY, CANDY" Since she had figured out how many licks it takes to get to the chocolate center, I let her be.
We're expecting rain in the forecast, so it should be a quiet couple of days! I hope everyone had a happy and haunting Halloween!!
Friday morning, Kaitlyn had a shoot with Mervyn's. It is the feature ad and we were told it might be on the cover! Yay! It comes out December 20 and it is so cute! Kaitlyn is wearing jeans and a hot pink zip up sweater, pig tails and sitting on a stack of presents! She is a cutie!
Friday night, Aunt Barbara and Uncle Dean came to visit and showed Kaitlyn her new friend, Sasha. Sasha is a 4 month old Pug. Kaitlyn loved her, Archie, well, Archie was barely tolerable hee hee.
After much visiting, we went home. We returned to Nana and Papa's on Saturday morning. We worked on costumes and Kaitlyn played before she went to Aunt Inez's house for a Pumpkin Party!! Yay for Pumpkins. Uncle Jim had grown a special pumpkin just for Kaitlyn and Kaitlyn sure did love it.
From there, Kaitlyn went to stay the night with Grandma and Grandpa. It was her first night away from home! Mommy and Daddy went to do some trick or treating of their own with Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis, Aunt Jamie and Uncle Joel!
Sunday Morning started BRIGHT AND EARLY! Kaitlyn had her headshots taken at 8:30! She did AMAZING. The pics should be here in 1-2 weeks and I cannot wait to get them. Kaitlyn was an absolute doll. She did the first set in a green long sleeve top with her hair down. The second set was wearing a pretty teal shirt with her hair in high pig tails. The third set was with Kaitlyn in a light blue shirt with medium pigtails. The fourth set was with low, classy pig tails wearing a purple sweater dress and black boots. Then, the photographer was so nice and took pictures of Kaitlyn with her mommy and grandma. Had we of known that, we may have dressed for the occasion!
Sunday afternoon, Aunt Barbara and Uncle Dean took Sasha home. Kaitlyn will miss her, and them of course! Luckily, they will be back in time for Kaitlyn turning 2! Kaitlyn watched us carve pumpkins and wanted nothing to do with her hands getting dirty! Kaitlyn then went to the dollar store with Nana and Auntie Christy before coming back to eat. After a little lunch, we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's. Wouldn't you know, as soon as we pulled in the drive our little princess fell right to sleep!
With Kaitlyn taking a nice nap, we were able to get some headway on her birthday party! We assembled most of the treat boxes and stuffed them to the brim. We assembled all of the silverware and even made a practice cake! Kaitlyn's party is going to be a lot of fun! Be sure to RSVP!
We have noticed that Kaitlyn has started to talk A LOT more. Here are some new words that both Dusty and I can make out (and if we can't, she points to tell us):
Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, Nana, bye, hello, dog, truck, bus, hi, don't, no, see ya, Archie, door, more, hot, there, good, yum, ma (milk), and a few other things that escape me right now. She is trying a lot harder to talk and we are really proud of her!!
Kaitlyn had an early morning shoot this morning with Mervyn's. Her Grandma took her at 6 AM to be there by 8:30. Kaitlyn was scheduled to be the back-up, so she was able to just hang out and relax with the other kids.
Kaitlyn and Grandma made a stop on the way home at the outlets to check on some things Kaitlyn still needs for her birthday party (keep an eye out for poodle shaped balloons everyone!) and evidently they wondered into the toy store! Kaitlyn came home with armfuls of toys!
The rest of the week is pretty full. Tomorrow Kaitlyn will spend the morning with Daddy before going to a funeral. Great-Grandma's Husband, Kaitlyn's Step-Grandfather passed away and we will be paying our respects. Tomorrow Aunt Barbara and Uncle Dean arrive for a fun four days too!
Friday is speech therapy in the morning followed by a lunch date with mommy's friend and her new baby. Saturday is a FUN pumpkin party with her cousin's, they have a pumpkin patch in their very own backyard! Saturday night Kaitlyn gets to have fun with Grandma and Grandpa while mommy and daddy go to a Halloween party. Sunday Kaitlyn has her headshots with Kelsey Edwards. And on Tuesday, Kaitlyn gets to go to a Halloween party during the day and to the zoo for lots of fun to trick or treat!
