Kaitlyn did so good at Daddy's game last night! She loved playing in the dirt and really liked chasing the little boy that was there around.

Today, Kaitlyn gets to go shopping for Auntie Christina's birthday present and then tonight she is going to dinner with her to celebrate! Tomorrow is the pageant so wish her luck!

What a day!

Kaitlyn, her nana and I left at 6:00 this morning for a Mervyn's shoot! Kaitlyn did so well. The first outfit (yup, I did say first) she wore was pretty cute. It was a brownish grey color, cordoroy skirt and a matching cream long sleeve top. It was adorable on her. She had the prettiest shoes to match. Her and JD took about 65 pictures in under 10 minutes. She was so smiley and so into it all. The second outfit was adorable. It was a pair of light pink pants with a white top and hot pink sweater. This time she was by herself and Hudson was her photographer. Again, they had 40 "perfect" (Hudson's words not mine) shots of her on a cute red background. These are due out on September 1!!

After 2 hours at Mervyn's, we drove to Richmond, which just happens to be on the way home and had lunch. Kaitlyn was a little antsy but had a blast playing with her balloon. After lunch, we headed to Le Top for a go-see. Kaitlyn had so much fun playing with the other kids. She tried on a cute pair of brown capris with a cute pink top all adorned with butterflys. She was really cute.

After the go-see we loaded back into the car and started the drive home. Kaitlyn slept most of the way after her long day and is still asleep now!

Last night, Kaitlyn got to watch her daddy play softball. He played really good and so did she! She made a new friend and had a blast playing with him. She rode her trike around, played catch and really enjoyed being outside. She was our perfect little girl!

Well, I know it's a few months away, but I've already started planning Kaitlyn's birthday party. I'm pretty happy with the theme since it's probably the last year I'll get much of a say in it and I think it's going to be really nice. I can't believe that in just a few months she'll be 2!! Where did this year go??

I hope everyone has had a great week!

Well, Kaitlyn is on her way back home! She had a booking this morning with Mervyn's! Her grandma, Auntie Beth and Cousin Felecia all took her down to San Francisco. She did amazing! She was all smiles and eagerly had her picture taken by Hudson with some help of her stylist Courtney! Kaitlyn wore jeans and a long sleeve white shirt for part of the Back To School Campaign that will be released the third week of September.

Our schedule for this week is pretty cramped!  Last night Kaitlyn went out with mommy, daddy, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis, Cousin Camaryn, Aunt Jamie, Uncle Joel, Chet and his friends to celebrate Chet's birthday.  She really enjoyed sushi and tofu.  The spicier the better.

This morning, Kaitlyn went to her booking in San Francisco and this evening she is going to her daddy's softball game in Folsom.  That is her favorite place for him to play because she can catch little frogs all she wants.

On Thursday Kaitlyn will spend the morning in Richmond for the Le Top go-see and then another one of Daddy's softball games at night.

Friday is Auntie Christina's birthday, yay!!  So Kaitlyn gets to go out with her whole family to celebrate with some yummy Italian food!

Saturday is Papa's Birthday, another yay!!  In the morning, Kaityn will be in the pageant with cousin Cami and then spend some time with papa for his birthday.

I'm sure Kaityn will sleep well Saturday night!

Wow, What a week!

On Thursday, Kaitlyn got to see Cami around lunch time for some playing at the mall! Kaitlyn was so cute, she just ran over, jumped in and got in the middle of all the big kids. She made herself some new friends and a little boyfriend! We don't have to worry about Kaitlyn protecting herself, she's one tough girl. A little boy about 4-5 tried to "help" her down the slide, she turned around and gave him such a look. He tried again and she pushed him away! That's my girl! After a couple hours of playing, it was time for a nap.

Thursday night Kaitlyn went to Daddy's game and cheered them on as they won against their rivals. That night, she joined mommy, daddy, Nana, Papa, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis and Cousin Cami for dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory. She was such a good girl. She was very happy to be drawing. When I asked her what her picture was that she was so seriously working on, she said "Meow Meow" It was too cute. Turns out, Kaitlyn is a HUGE fan of white clam sauce!

Friday was an early morning. We drove to San Francisco where Kaitlyn had a go-see for Macy's. She did great and the outfit fit her so well! That included some time with friends and playing to her heart's content! After the go-see, we drove to AT&T park. Kaitlyn and her daddy got to look at the records for the past Giant's teams. Then we all got to run around the "Little Giant's Park" Kaitlyn LOVED it!

Kaitlyn's mommy had an appointment following that, so Kaitlyn and her daddy walked all through San Francisco. They got to see a band, look at the seals and go all the way to the pier! They were might tired after that! A drive over the Golden Gate Bridge and we were on our way back!

When we drove into town, we went to Nana and Papa's house. We had dinner at Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis and Cami's house. It was really good! The girls got to play in a very cool ball pit Auntie Christy got! They seemed to love it. They had a lot of fun together, Kaitlyn even brushed Cami's hair for her, and Cami is becoming a pro walker!

Kaitlyn came home and went to bed. Saturday we got up nice and early again, loaded in the car and headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house. There, we met up with Auntie Beth and Uncle Paul. Everyone loaded into the van and we were on our way to Monterey! The trip there was really nice and pretty quick.

We met Auntie Samantha at her house and then headed to the beach. As expected, the beach near them was pretty cold, but it didn't stop anyone from having a blast! From there we headed to The Fisherman's wharf. It was so much fun! We all ate at a cute little restaurant overlooking the Ocean. So close, you can see Seal's playing while you eat!

After lunch, we went to another beach. It was the perfect weather. Kaitlyn loved playing in the sand and her daddy even went swimming. After an hour or so, we headed to the car, changed and went to Cannery Row. There we did some fun shopping, got to see where David worked and even got the biggest, most delicious Carmel Apples!

From there, we headed to Auntie Samantha's to get freshened up and then started the drive to David's parent's house in San Jose. We had a delicious BBQ dinner before heading home! We had a great action packed weekend and there is still Sunday left! Kaitlyn woke up really early this morning, but by 9:30, she fell asleep in the hallway playing with her dolls.

As I am sure you can imagine, there are plenty of pictures that are uploading and that will be uploaded! And, new video will be on soon!

Hello Everyone!! Happy Belated Independence Day!!

We had a great holiday! It started on Saturday night at Bridgefest where Kaitlyn got to meet up with her Grandma, Grandpa, auntie Christina, Brian, Aunt Jamie and Uncle Joel. Later on we also saw Nana, Papa, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis, Cousin Camaryn and Kaitlyn even saw her friend Daniel!!

Here is a short video of Kaitlyn enjoying her neon toys! Sorry it's so dark, I'm going to get a new flash so I can get better night shots!

Kaitlyn really liked the fireworks. She would say ooooowwwwww and awwwwwwee for each one. It was a great show that lasted a really long time! Kaitlyn did so good during the entire thing and as soon as we strapped her in the car seat she was out like a light!

Tuesday morning we had an early lunch with Nana, Papa, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis and cousin Cami. Both girls were so good and well behaved!! Kaitlyn was a good little eater and anytime Cami would fuss she would try and feed her mashed potatoes, it was so cute!

After lunch came nap time. When Kaitlyn finished her nap we went to Aunt Sue and Uncle Jim's where we met Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Beth, Uncle Paul, Uncle Scotty, Jamie, Cousin Brian, Auntie Christina, Brian, and of course Aunt Sue and Uncle Jim. As the day went on, Cousin Inez and Cousin's Michael and Heather came too! Kaitlyn LOVED her corn on the cob and had so much fun swimming!

Kaitlyn swam with Daddy and Uncle Scotty, you can see her on video here!

She did have one accident where she walked in the pool. But she was in the arms of Grandpa before her butt could even get wet and was completely fine!

Kaitlyn sure was tired by the time darkness fell. She fell straight asleep and we went home. She slept all the way until the next morning!

Last night she had so much fun at Daddy's game. She ran and played and even tried to car jack some little boys for their ride. Kaitlyn isn't the least bit shy, she sees where the action is and squeezes herself in the middle of it. She really does believe she's a big kid! A little boy was sitting alone and Kaitlyn kept offering him animal cookies, water, softballs, and of course kisses. When he didn't respond, she would go and sit next to him with her head about 2-3 inches from his arm and go mmwwwuuuaaaahhhh really dramatically followed by a lip smacking noise! She got to see more frogs and imitated them jumping. She loves being outside!

Kaitlyn is doing really good. She likes to count and play hide and seek. The highest she's counted to is 9. She likes to point out body parts and facial features and tell you what they are. She has gained some weight and is up to 26 pounds. That is in the 66 percent tile for development. She hasn't let me measure her, so I am going to try again today. She is easily wearing 2T and in many brands now has to have a 3T!! She is growing so fast!!

Kaitlyn's first article has been published!!

It can be found by clicking on her picture:

And here is the article:
"Building up Baby, An Interview With Denise Miller by Shauna Smith Duty"

Kaitlyn mom started out much like other mothers who think their baby will make a great model. Hard work, research, and an enormous investment of time paid off for Denise Miller. Kaitlyn has had 19 photo shoots with Mervyn?s, as well as shoots with Picture People, Pottery Barn Kids, and Red Envelope. How did Denise kick off Kaitlyn?s career? Let's find out.

SSD: Tell us about your child and why you thought he/she would make a good model.

DM: Kaitlyn was born happy. She'd go to anyone, smile at anything, and was incredibly good-natured. She was "hamming" it up for the camera by the time she was 4 months old. She was born the center of attention. Kaitlyn loves to be noticed. She runs up to everyone we encounter and says, "Hi!" After winning a couple of photo contests, it was suggested to me that she should model. I figured, if she made it, modeling could be something that we enjoyed doing together.

SSD: Tell us about yourself.

DM: I am happily married to my high school sweetheart. I stayed at home with Kaitlyn the first year [of her life], and the week of her first birthday, I returned to work. I am an apartment manager and live on site. The benefit of this job is that I can stay at home with Kaitlyn and raise her while still helping to provide for the family. [My job] is incredibly flexible, otherwise we wouldn't be able to continue with her career. I was born and raised, the oldest of 4 in West Sacramento, CA. I am a firm believer that a strong family foundation is the best possible start for any child. We are incredibly close to both sides of the family. We have Sunday dinner at my parents and my husband plays softball with his dad every week. Kaitlyn and I always cheer them on. SSD: What were the first steps you took toward your child's modeling career? DM: I did my research. I read up on what agencies and clients look for regarding children/baby models. I learned that [children] under the age of 2 [need] full body [and] head shots. I wanted Kaitlyn to appear marketable when I approached the agencies. I picked 5 pictures, 3 full body and 2 close-ups. I read some of the agency requirements and suggestions for sending pictures. They typically include happy, clean, smiling faces looking at the camera. Backgrounds that were simple or outdoors, and focused on the subject, and of course, clean non-seasonal clothes [were a must]. On the back, I [added] labels with her name, age, weight, height, hair color, eye color and our contact information. I wrote a short letter with the same information, her accomplishments (standing and smiling), and why I thought she would be a good model. I included those with a SASE (self-addressed, stamped envelope), and mailed them to 5 agencies.

SSD: How did these steps pay off?

DM: We were called on 2 interviews and received 2 "try again in 6 months" letters. The agency closest to us was a complete scam. In order to sign the contract, we had to pay $1500 up front for portfolio costs. Then we met with Generations and it was amazing! They were incredibly nice, courteous, and asked us to sign with them.

SSD: What would you do differently?

DM: I would have researched the agency closer to us prior to sending them information. They now call on a monthly basis to see if we've reconsidered. We have informed them that she has an agent and is working, but they still try to get $1500 from us. It's almost laughable.

SSD: Have you had any negative experiences? What were they?

DM: At a shoot recently, another mother . . . had a couple of children involved, and her youngest was a back-up that day. She was a mother that had been in the business a while and acted as though she knew everything. It was a busy shoot . . . and there were a lot of kids that had the same call-time. As each mother and her child would leave, this lady would trash the mother and the child. I think what bothered me the most is that the other parents would sit there and listen to her, but not defend the child at all. It was a disgusting display. Typically, parents are all so nice and helpful to one another. I have met so many great people while Kaitlyn's been working.

SSD: What are Kaitlyn's career accomplishments, and how long has she been in the business?

DM: Kaitlyn's first job was in October of 2005. It was about 2 weeks after she was signed. In 7 months, Kaitlyn has had 19 shoots with Mervyn's. Many ads have already been released and more are still awaiting release. She has had shoots with Picture People, Pottery Barn Kids and Red Envelope.

SSD: Where is he/she headed next?

DM: She was recently booked to do the Story Book Heirlooms catalog, and she is booked to be in an independent film.

SSD: Do you have business plan (goals) in place for Kaitlyn?s career?

DM: As long as Kaitlyn is enjoying herself, we'll continue with it. As far as business goals, we haven't set any.

SSD: How has your child adjusted to working, and how do you handle socialization?

DM: Kaitlyn loves working. It's like a play date for her. Typically you see many of the same kids at shoots, go-sees or open calls. It's a great way for Kaitlyn to be able to socialize since she isn't in any type of day care program.

SSD: What advice would you give parents considering modeling for their children?

DM: It is an incredible opportunity and a great way to save for college. If you think your child has it, and YOU have the time and dedication, go for it!

SSD: Do you work with an agent? How has this been for you?

DM: We do work with an agency. Kaitlyn is signed with Generation's Model and Talent in San Francisco. Without an agency, I have no idea where we would get her work. This has been an incredible tool. The agency makes money when Kaitlyn does, and that acts as an incentive to get her work. It's a win-win situation.

SSD: How do you find work?

DM: The agency calls us whenever there is a booking, go-see or open call for Kaitlyn. All we have to do is show up.

SSD: Tell us about your marketing.

DM: I found a photography student that did Kaitlyn's first headshots for free. Since then, I take the pictures. Kaitlyn does have [an] online listing at skybolt.net through her agency that we pay $9 per month for. We haven't had comp cards or headshots printed.

SSD: How has your child's career affected your life socially, emotionally, and practically?

DM: It can take 2-3 hours to get to San Francisco. There are times we go 3 times a week. Those weeks, I'm exhausted, but it's well worth it. Many times we are back at home before 2 PM. We don't miss out on any time as a family, and Kaitlyn still has a lot of time to play and draw. Typically, she finishes sleeping in the car in the morning and is back in the car in time for naps. I think it has allowed us to take her to many places we may not have [otherwise visited]. It encourages us to visit places in the Bay area that we may not have thought to go to otherwise, such as the Pier [and the] San Francisco Zoo. There have been a few times that my husband has gone with us, and that's been wonderful. It's a mini family vacation.

SSD: Is the financial reward worth the work you and your child are doing?

DM: The financial reward is very nice. It allows for Kaitlyn to have more in her savings account than we would have been able to provide for her otherwise. I like that when Kaitlyn is older she can say "I'm paying for my own college" and know that she did it all on her own. Every penny Kaitlyn earns is hers. We do not spend any of it on any aspect of her career.

SSD: Describe a typical go see, and take us through a shoot.

DM: For a typical go-see, you are called to a studio, residence, or casting agency. You sign in and often fill out a form with your child's information: measurements, agency, name, contact info. You then wait your turn with the "competition", which is a great [play]time for . . . the kids. When it is your turn, you are usually called back to a room a little more private, though this is not always the case. Occasionally, the child puts on the clothes that are to be worn. Then, the child stands on the X while their picture is taken. A shoot is . . . different. [For] a shoot, you sign in with the studio teacher. That includes giving them your child's work permit and voucher. The voucher is what the "client" fills out and you send to the agency so they can be billed for your services. Each studio is different. With Mervyn's, you are then called to hair and make-up. That typically entails a bit of blush and a clip in the hair. Then the child is dressed. There have been a few shoots that did not have hair and make-up. Most of the time the child goes to the set. They have a place to stand. The photographer is there and a few people . . . get the child to smile, laugh, play, jump and have fun. Of course, your child could be like mine, where they smile for 1-2, pictures then run off the set giggling. Then, as the parent, you get to put them back in their place while it all starts over. It's a lot like going to a portrait studio, except way more fun. Who wouldn't love to see 2-5 adults acting silly? When you are finished, you receive your completed voucher and go home. A couple [of] months later, you see the finished work!

SSD: What's a typical work day like in your home?

DM: Many times, we have to be to San Francisco by 9 [AM]. I get up and ready at 5. I load up the car with toys, water, milk, snacks, breakfast and directions to wherever we are going. At 6, I get Kaitlyn out of bed and try not to wake her. Most times I am successful. We drive to San Francisco. I always stop at the same place for my breakfast, which is when Kaitlyn wakes up to [eat] hers. We get to the location, have an hour or two of sitting and then shooting. Afterwards, it's usually nap time. Kaitlyn gets in the car and falls asleep before we hit the freeway. It's an easy drive back. I make lunch and work next to Kaitlyn while she eats. She finishes and watches "Sesame Street" and plays with the dog while I work and then make dinner. When my husband gets home, we eat. Then another hour of playing, followed by a bath and then bedtime.

SSD: How have your family, friends and neighbors reacted to your child's success?

DM: For the most part, everyone has been amazing. Family has been incredibly helpful, and [they have] taken Kaitlyn to San Francisco when I couldn't. They are always proud of the work she does and brag about her to everyone. Friends are the same way. We have had some minor run-ins with people who make rude comments, but you are bound to run into that with anything, from breast-feeding to bed time routines.

SSD: Are you scared of your child's success? How will you protect him/her from the hard parts of the business?

DM: I worry that Kaitlyn could grow up a bit more snobby because of her success. We try to keep her grounded and let her be a kid. I would never allow her to do something that would take away a normal childhood from her. We protect her from wierdos by password protecting her Website, tracking ISP addresses that visit it. We make sure we are always cautious, as I am sure all parents are. We want the best for our little girl. She's our princess first, and then a model. Kaitlyn would first like to give a big Happy Birthday wish to her Grandma!

Kaitlyn had a pretty fun and pretty busy weekend! On Friday Kaitlyn had her head shots taken and let me tell you the princess did great. I would like to get some more though to send to the agency to pick from. After that we headed to Auntie Christy and Uncle Dennis's to visit them, Cami, Nana and Papa. Kaitlyn had a lot of fun. She played with everything and tried to carry all the big toys to Cami to play with.

Saturday morning began with a mommy and daughter trip to the mall while Daddy went to help Papa and Uncle Dennis with some things at Auntie Christy's. Kaitlyn got to enjoy her first cinnamon roll and I think she's a fan! After that she had her pictures made for Grandma's birthday and got to do some major shopping. She got a lot of new clothes and shoes to be extra stylish!

After all that shopping, someone needed a nap. On the way out of the mall Kaitlyn fell asleep and stayed asleep until it was time to go and shoot her scenes for Fear of Flight. She did fantastic! I was so proud of her!

We came home and Kaitlyn played for a little while. When she was about to get into bed, she had a surprise visitor!! Her Nana, Papa, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis and Cami stopped by! Kaitlyn got to play a little and get a bit more tired out before hitting the sack!

Sunday morning started out with some more shopping and a nap. After nap time it was time to go to Grandma and Grandpa's for some BBQ! I got a new digital camcorder and made good use of it so you should be able to see some new video sometime today!!

Kaitlyn and Cami had so much fun playing in the water! They were really cute together! Kaitlyn did a really good job of sharing her toys with Cami at her Grandma's house, and there were a lot to share!

Tonight Kaitlyn gets to go and see some beautiful fireworks at Bridgefest!!

It looks as though our trip to Washington is post-poned. Since it is a summer weekend and we want to make the most of the summer we are going to Monterey to visit Auntie Samantha again this weekend! This time, Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Christina, Auntie Beth, Uncle Paul and Cousin Felecia are all going too! I am sure we are going to have a great time! We even got Kaitlyn an insulated water shirt and a few pairs of water shoes.

Some site changed may be going into effect soon. I am considering going to a more secure server that would better allow me to control Kaitlyn's site a bit better. I'd like to be able to keep it from being password protected but still keep it secure from people who may be looking at it with bad thoughts or intentions in mind. Please be patient with me, as soon as I have it all ready and transferred, I'll let you know :)

Another week is almost over! Which means June is almost over! It's been a good week though. On Wednesday, Kaitlyn went to her daddy's softball game. On the way she kept clapping and saying "Daddy, daddy, Yay Daddy." Until Daddy looked at her, then she smiled and said "daddy, daddy, boooooooo daddy." It was really cute! Kaitlyn had a blast at Daddy's softball game. She ran around and went up and down the slide by herself, even the really big slide for the big kids. She went on the baby swing and then the big kid's swing. Kaitlyn then discovered her favorite thing, water! This particular park had a water feature that squirts water up when you step on a certain spot. Well, it was off but there was still water from the day, about an inch maybe in a 3' x 5' puddle. Kaitlyn had a blast in it. She splashed it, stomped in it and did a tadpole swim in it. When she was done with the water, she ran over to the slide, sloping wet, and tried to go down the slide. Every foot or so, she would get stuck and have to try and push herself, it was really cute.

After that we started to walk back over to daddy. On the way we saw all the little tree frogs. There were so many I was easily able to catch one and show it to Kaitlyn. Then 2-3 jumped out for her to see. She caught one on her own and was so incredibly gentle. She looked at it closely, told the frog hi and then set the frog down. She did it again to another before daddy's game was over. Afterwards, she saw 2 little girls trying to catch frogs and went to them and loudly said Frog!

On Thursday Kaitlyn went to another of Daddy's game. This time she had her shiny new trike to ride. It's a little smaller than her princess one so her feet reach better. She was such a big girl when it came to sharing with the other kids. Kaitlyn had a big surprise at this game, Aunt Christy, Uncle Dennis and Cami all came! Cami was so cute walking everywhere with her arms stretched out as far as they could for balance. Kaitlyn shared everything with Cami, food, water and even her trike! Kaitlyn played good and hard. She sure was tired. Nana, Papa, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis, Cami, Mommy, Daddy and Kaitlyn all went to the best Mexican Restaurant for dinner after. Kaitlyn did really good, she ate all of her rice, beans, sour cream and salsa without too much of a mess.

After dinner, Daddy went to show everyone the awesome toy box him and papa made Kaitlyn. When they went to leave in Auntie Christy's car, Kaitlyn couldn't believe her luck! There was a problem with the remote-start so they couldn't leave! She had Cami to play with until 11 PM! She had so much fun! She shared all of her toys with her, she helped her to balance and they went back and forth tackling each other to the ground.

All in all, it was a good week. Kaitlyn learned new words including: Teddy, Frog, Camaryn (twice now) and a couple of others. She's gotten good at putting the words together that she does know. She's also very expressive with her facial features!

Tonight Kaitlyn has an appointment for her head shots. Afterwards she'll probably enjoy playing at the park. Tomorrow she wraps up the film "Fear of Flight" and on Sunday she gets to go to Grandma and Grandpa's for a BBQ in honor of Mommy and Grandma's birthdays. Then, Tuesday is Fireworks time and only 2 days after that is Thursday and we are going to visit Uncle Ray!! Yay Uncle Ray!! Hopefully he has lots of fun places planned for us to visit!

Have a safe and happy Fourth of July Holiday Weekend! And be sure to enjoy the new pictures!

Yay for Wednesday! Kaitlyn has had a pretty good week so far.

On Monday she got to relax at home and enjoy not doing anything but playing and sleeping and eating yummy fruit!

Kaitlyn's grandma and grandpa had gotten back into town in the wee hours of Monday morning so Monday night we went and visited them. She was over the moon with joy to see them after their week long trip. We all went out to dinner and Kaitlyn was quite the little show off. She was so much fun to have a dinner guest and not only kept our table laughing but also the ones around her. She showered her Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Scotty and Auntie Christina with so many kisses and so much love!

Kaitlyn went to sleep nice and easy to have dreams of all things good, like Elmo and watermelon. Tuesday was an incredibly relaxing day. With the temperatures being so high, Kaitlyn didn't go outside once and was pretty happy to lounge around in her diaper in the nice and cool house. She did find a new use for Archie. She waits until he is sitting down and sits on his back facing away from him and "slides" down while saying "whhheeee", while comical she is getting into trouble for it so she can learn the importance of kindness to animals. So, this week as soon as we have a spare moment we are getting her an indoor playground similar to what her friend William has.

Kaitlyn refuse to go to bed last night and finally went to sleep at 10:30. She woke up once at 3 for about 1/2 hour and is still sleeping now at 10 past 9. Hopefully the little girl isn't getting sick.

Tonight is Daddy's game so we are sure to have many pictures by tomorrow! We hope everyone is enjoying their week!

What a great few days!!

Thursday was awesome.  Kaitlyn, her nana and I picked up Cami and took her to the mall to have pictures made for her mama's birthday.  Cami looked so cute as a "mini marine" that everyone stopped and commented!!  After that we took the girl's to Auntie Christy's before Kaitlyn and I headed home.  We ended the night at Daddy's softball game.  Kaitlyn was so cute.  She cheered the entire game and the umpire kept asking her if she wanted to play.  She just cheered her heart away!

Friday Kaitlyn was such a good girl!  Since Auntie Christy, Auntie Jamie and Mommy all have their birthday in the same week we decided it would be a good idea to have a "Babes Night Out" to celebrate all the birthday's at once.  We started the night out at a restaurant called Buca Di Beppo's.  Kaitlyn was soo good!  She ate her spaghetti like a big girl, drank her water and was well behaved.  When she saw Uncle Dennis with Kix, she would run to him, give him a big hug, get her fill and run back.  She did this 6 or 7 times before it was time to go.  She was just too cute!  Afterwards she went to her house with Nana, Papa and Cousin Cami in tow.  Nana said she was a really good girl until her mommy and daddy got home!

On Saturday morning, Kaitlyn loaded into the car with Mommy and Daddy and dropped Archie off with Nana and Papa.  Then we were on the road to Monterey.  Well, Marina to be exact.  It was mommy's birthday and she wanted to spend it in the Central Coast visiting Auntie Samantha and David.  Monterey was beautiful.  On Saturday we went to the Ocean and Kaitlyn discovered that it has a lot of her favorite thing, SAND.  Kaitlyn LOVED the sand.  At the first beach she loved the water.  She would run up to it and then run back from it giggling.  Then, David showed her a sea crab.  At that time she was so enthralled she forgot to run back from the water and got all wet.  The water was really cold so she got her first change of clothes and we headed into Monterey for the second beach.  This beach was so sandy!!  It was also a lot warmer.  Kaitlyn LOVED it.  She adored the sand, she even let us bury her in it!

After the beach, we headed back to Auntie Samantha and David's house where they made us a delicious dinner for Mommy's birthday, followed of course by cake!  The night ended with goodnight kisses all around.

Sunday we ventured off to the Aquarium.  It was so packed.  We stayed in line for a while, but since there were easily a couple hundred people that went in before us and about a hundred behind us, there was no way we'd enjoy it.  So we decided to try again in the next month or so during the week.  We wandered around Monterey for a little while and then headed to Carmel.  In Carmel we ate at the Hog's Breathe.  Kaitlyn's daddy has been wanting to eat there for a while, it's the place that Clint Eastwood owns, but said it seemed way different since when he was a kid.  After that we did some shopping and Kaitlyn was getting tired.  We started to head back home and stopped for some yummy snacks and to go to Casa de Fruita for some fruit to bring home.

When we got back home we went and visited Nana, Papa, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis and Cami at Auntie Christy's.  We had a delicious BBQ dinner and got to watch Cami walk all over the place!!  Kaitlyn loved it!!  After we got nice and tired we headed home to start unpacking and all that goodness.  Kaitlyn went straight to sleep, as did Archie.  I have about a jazillion pictures to upload of this weekend but it'll probably wait until morning!

we got all the information for Kaitlyn and Cami's next pageant!  I cannot wait, I think it's going to be a lot of fun.  Both girls already have their attire!  We also set a date for the trip to visit Uncle Ray, which will be a lot of fun!

I hope everyone else was able to enjoy the weekend as much as we did!

Yesterday was Auntie Christy's birthday and Kaitlyn would like to say:

We had a pretty good day. Kaitlyn went with me to the office and then we went to the mall and she had her Fourth of July Pictures done at Sears. She was about an hour past nap time and I am suprised by how good she did!!

After that we did some shopping in the mall and then came back home and Kaitlyn had nap time. When Daddy got home for work we all loaded in the car to go meet Nana and Papa for Daddy's game. We drove to Folsom and Kaitlyn had a blast. It was pretty hot but the breeze kept us comfy. Kaitlyn drank two whole bottles of water and was still warm so I went to the snack bar looking for a popsicle. When they didn't have any, she had the Big Bopper instead. It's an ice cream sandwich made of two chocolate chip cookies. She wanted NOTHING to do with the cookies, but gladly gobbled up the nice cold ice cream!!

After the game we went to the parking lot and guess who we saw! Camaryn, Auntie Christy and Uncle Dennis. Kaitlyn was so excited!! You would not believe how happy she is everytime she sees Cami. After a couple of minutes we all loaded into the cars and drove to BJ's! We had a delicious dinner. Kaitlyn and Camaryn were both so well behaved! Kaitlyn had ranch dressing for the first time. She loved it, of course.

When we were all done eating Kaitlyn had a blast making Cami laugh. She was so happy to see her smiling she just kept being silly!! She truly is an entertainer.

Kaitlyn fell asleep as soon as we got in the car. Today we have a busy busy day planned, with a very fun weekend ahead of us! With temperatures reaching 112 on Saturday we have decided to take a trip! We are going to Monterey for the weekend to visit Auntie Samantha and David!! We want to go to the aquarium, the beach and of course enjoy the wonderful coast weather!

The second weekend of July we have another fun trip planned to go and visit Uncle Ray! Kaitlyn and Cami both miss him terribly so we are going to go and see what Washington has to offer!

Well, that little girl just got cuter and cuter today.  While running errands we made a stop to visit nana and papa at their house.  We said hello and Kaitlyn played and visited for a little while before it was time to get going.  She was playing with Papa's phone and "fixing" it so people couldn't call him anymore during "her" time when Nana asked for the phone.  She looked at Nana and said "Here ya go" and handed it to her before going to play with something else.

We ran errands, Kaitlyn took her nap at home and then had her dinner with daddy.  After her bath, I was working upstairs on invoices and Purchase Orders and such while Kaitlyn played with Daddy.  While I was working out of my two recent Purchase Order Books, Kaitlyn went downstairs, to the office, to my desk, to my bottom right drawer and pulled out my other Purchase Order book.  She came back up the stairs and gave it to me proud as can be!!  A few minutes later I inspected to make sure she didn't make a mess and sure enough the entire office and living room and kitchen were still clean!

A couple of minutes later, I heard the familar noise of Archie trying to drink after finishing his water.  Has I got up to go and get him some more Kaitlyn stood in the door way holding his empty water dish saying uh-oh.  We went downstairs and there was Archie, a nice dry floor and a little girl wanting to give her doggie some water.

She truly is amazing!

Kaitlyn has been so cute today!  I had to go to a Safety Meeting at work today so I took her with me.  It's about 45 adults in a room listening to why you check a ladder for grease before using it and why you don't touch someone elses blood and put it in your eye.  Silly, common sense things like that.  Kaitlyn did really good.

We got there early and Kaityn of course said HI! to everyone!  Well, I was feeding her grapes (she LOVES fruit) and as she finished one she would say "more" like always.  Well, each time I would give her one she would say "Aaankk UUU"  It was so cute!  She has the best manners!

During the meeting she was blowing kisses to everyone, waving and being such a good girl in her stroller.  She handed me her pen and paper to draw her a picture.  I drew her a cat and she began saying "meow" over and over to it and petting it.  The best part was when she gave the pad a paper a big hug.

Isn't she just way too cute!!

Hello everyone! Kaitlyn and family has had a really busy weekend and are enjoying a "normal" day.

As I've already updated, Kaitlyn filmed her role on Saturday. I am researching how we can get a copy to own. The Japanese title of the show is: Sekai Gyoten News!

Sunday was Father's Day. Kaitlyn got to spend the day with the most important father's in her life. The morning started with Kaitlyn pressing her itty bitty hands into clay for gifts for both Granpda and Papa. She had already had her portrait taken for them.

This is grandpa's picture:

This is Papa's Picture:

Then, Kaitlyn woke daddy up with a big kiss. After we were all ready we went to Hometown Buffet for breakfast. We met Nana, Papa, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis and Cami! We enjoyed a nice big breakfast of yummy food! We also learned that little Cami is already taking her first steps, 9 at one time!! I can't wait to see it!

After breakfast we headed to the mall. Auntie Christy had something to take care of so we went with Daddy to Suncoast, his favorite place ever! Papa got new movies and then we went to the jewelry stores. Kaitlyn has her eyes on a few things and her birthday is coming up!

When Auntie Christy finished her errands we headed to the funnest place in Roseville, Golf Land Sun Splash. Poor Kaitlyn was asleep when we got there, so she took a power nap. Kaitlyn, her Daddy, Papa, Uncle Dennis and I all played a round of golf. When Kaitlyn woke up, she was ok in the stroller for a couple of holes, then she realized we were playing her favorite game, so she started to help her mama! She putted the ball like a champ. After a few taps it didn't go quite to the hole, but past it so she picked the ball up and ran it to the hole!!

After that Kaitlyn went inside with Nana, Auntie Christy and Cami to play some fun arcade games and enjoy yummy pizza!

Following Golf Land we loaded into the car and headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house! Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Christina, Uncle Scott, Auntie Beth, Uncle Paul, Cousin Felecia and Brian were all already there. Grandma even set up Kaitlyn's very own pool in the backyard for Kaitlyn to swim in! She had so much fun and we have a lot of pictures to update with today!

Kaitlyn loved playing in her room at Grandma's, and really loved dinner. She even got to have a little bit of lemon pie, which she of course loved!

By 9, it was way past Kaitlyn's bed time and she was sleepy so we headed home. She had so much fun this weekend and with the 108 degree heat we are expected, she will probably spend a lot of time inside. She tans so easily. She has been wearing a constant, thick application of SPF 65 (with our family history's we want to ensure we are protecting Kaitlyn in every possible way) and still has a golden tan to match her shimmery blonde hair, that is growing like crazy!! She's our California Girl, a pure movie star even at 1 1/2!

This week, Kaitlyn's daddy and I are joining a gym. Kaitlyn is going to be a member too! They have a lot of fun activities for Kaitlyn's age and I'm sure she'll LOVE playing with everything they have while her daddy and I get strong!

We have a lot planned this week with all of the birthdays and extravaganzas scheduled so look for many more pictures and updates!
