Mother's Day is a day spent celebrating all that Mother's do and all that Mother's are. I think it is also a time of reflection and appreciation for Mother's as well.
I wasn't always a mother. I have a beautiful little girl that made me a mother over 2 years ago, the day I found out I was pregnant. She ended any selfishness I could have possibly felt. She made me realize that there are so many glorious and amazing things in this world that make it such a beautiful, amazing and wonderful place to be a part of.
Kaitlyn has made being a mother an honor. She has been the most amazing person I have ever met. The fact that I could raise such a smart, thoughtful, loving, sensitive, outgoing and incredible person makes me so proud. I know that I couldn't' be half the mother I am without a wonderful father to support me.
So, I would like to take this time to thank Kaitlyn and Dusty for the incredibly thoughtful cards and suprises. I'd also like to thank them and give them credit for the mother that I am. I love them both very much.
We had a peaceful Wednesday of relaxing and working followed by a super busy Thursday! Kaitlyn went with her Auntie Christina to San Francisco for a Mervyn's booking in the morning. Unfortunately there was a major landslide in Pinole and they didn't make it there in time. While Kaitlyn was able to play with all of her friends, she didn't get to have her picture taken.
Later that day, we got in the car and went to watch her daddy play! Kaitlyn had so much fun outside. She loved all of the kids and tried to hug everyone! She learned to drink from the water fountain, played hide and seek behind the trees and played catch!
Today, Kaitlyn has been playing like crazy! She has been playing catch with Archie like you wouldn't believe. Tonight we are going to a dinner to celebrate a birthday/engagement.
Kaitlyn got a call from her agency today. Storybrook Heirlooms loved her skybolt account and want to see her on Monday to discuss the upcoming catalog they will be shooting in June. They have the cutest stuff! Go to storybook.com to get an idea of what she could be modeling!
Her antibiotics are working well. The runny nose is gone and the cough seems to be on it's way out!
We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
******************CONTINUED******************
We had another call from Kaitlyn's agency! She is under serious consideration to model for the Enfamil Toddler Formula! We will meet with them next week and the shoot dates are May 31-June 2!!
Kaitlyn went back to San Francisco today! She had a go-see for Macy's! It's so wierd to get used to the fact that as we are starting to strip down to our summer clothes and Kaitlyn can enjoy shorts, sandals and tanks, the "industry" is bundling up for winter clothes!
It was a pre-fit go-see which means Kaitlyn tried on the outfit she would be modeling and took a picture in it. The photographer said she got a great shot and kept looking at it saying how cute she was, so hopefully she'll get the ad!
Kaitlyn helped me pass out notices and now she's resting! Life's hard for a supermodel!
We got to Kaitlyn's grandma and grandpa's at a little before 9 AM. We were soon followed by Kaitlyn's nana, papa, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis and cousin Cami. Auntie Christina and Mackenzie were already there.
We piled into 2 cars and off we went to San Fransico.
We did hit some traffic, but Kaitlyn was happy as can be watching and holding Elmo.
We arrived at the San Francisco zoo at about 11 AM, and there we met Jamie and Joel. We started by looking at all of the giraffes, zebras, gorillas and other fun animals. The zoo wasn't too packed and we were able to see everything this time! I think everyone had so much fun!
Kaitlyn got to see everything and has soon as we saw the last animal, she fell asleep on Grandma!
We got back into the car and hit a bit of traffic, but got to Grandma and Grandpa's in a couple of hours.
From there, we rested for a couple of minutes before getting into the car and hitting a new Sushi resturaunt downtown.
It was Kaitlyn's first time having sushi and while I thought she would mostly eat rice, she loved it! She really, really loved Tofu and Misso soup. She liked my sushi with tempura shrimp, avacados, and eel! Eel was her favorite part of it! She also ate rice, Teryiaki chicken, tempura veggies.
Then we came home after a long day of fun! Kaitlyn was so happy to see Archie. She kept saying his name over and over while giving him hugs and petting his back. She slept really good!
This morning, Kaitlyn had a new ad out for Mervyn's!
Here are some pictures!
Kaitlyn and Mackenzie hugging and then kissing:
Cami had a super cool stroller that she got to steer!
Unfortunately for Cami, she fell asleep!
So, Kaitlyn car jacked her for it!
Kaitlyn found a great way to see the polar bears better, on top of Grandpa's shoulders!
Here is Kaitlyn with her daddy looking at the Giraffe's!
Kaitlyn loved climbing on the caves of the African exhibit
She even liked going through the tunnels to find more animals!
Here is Kaitlyn with her mommy and daddy looking at the Lion Fountain:
Mackenzie helped hold Kaitlyn's hand on the way to the Penguins!
Mackenzie and Auntie Christina at the Penguins:
Kaitlyn with her mommy and Mackenzie looking at the super cool squirrel monkeys!
Kaitlyn and her mommy and daddy looking at the squirrel Monkeys:
Kaitlyn really enjoyed the petting zoo inside the Children's zoo. She got to ride the saddle, and the tractor while all the goats and sheep came to her!
Then, Kaitlyn, daddy and Grandpa were being silly and put their heads in the cutouts at the bird sanctuary!
Kaitlyn did such a good job of holding Daddy's hand!
And she loved playing with Mackenzie in the cave!
Daddy helped Kaitlyn go up the stairs to see the big Gorillas!
Now you know why Kaitlyn just had to fall asleep!
There are many, many more pictures from the zoo. Click on the happy Giraffe to see them!
Kaitlyn really enjoyed her sushi! She just couldn't figure out how to eat it!
This morning began with a 9:00 AM trip to the doctor. Kaitlyn still has that awful cough and occasional runny nose and has had it for 3 1/2 weeks.
Dr. Walsh was filling in for Dr. Chao and recommend X-Rays of the nasal cavity and of the lungs.
This was Kaitlyn's first time getting x-rays and the most dramatic event of her entire life. Kaitlyn was put into a contraption called the piggy seat. It is made of wood and the base comes to about my waist. In the middle there is a whole. In the whole is a "seat" that the child's legs go through. Kaitlyn was sat in it so her feet were dangling. Next plastic body guards are built on the side of where Kaitlyn's body is. They have straps to attach to each other. Kaitlyn had the guards strapped tightly against her body so that she could not move at all and her arms were straight in the air. They then pressed a "holder" for the x-ray film against her nose. She screamed and cried the entire time. They did 4 x-rays like that. Finally we were able to remove her from the awful disgusting seat. Next, she had to lay on the table. She was still screaming. I had to lay her down and then hold her from her shoulders down to keep her from moving. It took 2 large men to then hold her head completely still and back to get the x-ray. This took 2 tries. I have never heard her cry so hard or for so long in my entire life.
The x-rays did reveal that Kaitlyn does have a sinus infection. She is to take antibiotics for the next 10 days. At that time we will return to have her tested for both seasonal allergies and for asthma.
We dropped off her prescription and then went home for lunch and to pack her bag.
At about noon we got into Kaitlyn's nana's car and headed to San Francisco. We went over the Golden Gate bridge and everything this time! We arrived in the most beautiful residential area and entered into the Pottery Barn house. This house is gorgeous. It was completely done in Pottery Barn memorabilia. Kaitlyn got dressed in a cute outfit of pink pants and a white long sleeved onesie embroidered with the name Grace. She put a pink sweater on and her socks and headed up the stairs to meet Dylan, he co-star for the day. After several pictures it was determined Kaitlyn was wearing the wrong pants! Oh no! So, they decided to switch outfits. Kaitlyn was put into a darling pink long sleeve onesie with the name Emma on it and a white peter pan collar. Over it, she wore a very pretty sage green corduroy dress that had a double ruffle at the bottom. Kaitlyn stripped her socks and put a pretty clip in her hair. Then her and Dylan played in the fun nursery Pottery Barn set up. Kaitlyn fell in love with the recliner they had in the room and played in it over and over again!
After that outfit, the photographer decided he had to have Kaitlyn for another outfit. She was on a role. This time she put on a really cute long sleeved white onesie with blue stars on it and a pair of green corduroy overalls! They were all so soft. She then went and played with a beautiful little baby named Ruby. Kaitlyn loved Ruby. She gave her toys, hugged her, waved at her and stared at her. All you could hear from the staff was the snap snap snap of the camera and the awwwwweeee "isn't she sweet" as Kaitlyn played with her.
Kaitlyn got to put her own clothes on then and tell everyone bye-bye. Her hard work will be displayed in the fall Pottery Barn Kid's Catalog! Yay Kaitlyn!
We got in the car and then stopped at the first place we could for some yummy's! Kaitlyn did so good, she got to have french fries, a rare treat, with her dinner. We then had a long, peaceful drive home in traffic.
Kaitlyn came home and played with daddy and Archie before going to bed. Tomorrow promises to be a blast! A day at the San Francisco zoo with her Grandma, Grandpa, Nana, Papa, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis, Cousin Cami, Auntie Christina, Mackenzie, Jamie and Joel! We are going to represent 1/2 of the daily guests with a party of 14!!
Kaitlyn has some great news!! She found out last night that she has officially been booked for the Pottery Barn Catalog!! At 1 PM on Friday she will be shooting in San Francisco! We are all so happy with the time of the shoot because it is after her nap and after lunch! Which means she'll be in a happy silly Kaitlyn land!
Today has been another relaxing day for the princess. She's been able to play and play and is now peacefully napping. When she gets up we'll go for a walk with Archie, she normally loves that.
A littl while ago her agency called. Pottery Barn Kids has placed a hold on Kaitlyn for Friday. If there aren't any scheduling conflicts she'll be shooting the new catalog for them! Wish her luck!!
Yesterday she had a lot of fun! We spent the morning at the Roseville Auctions and then the Roseville Mall. She was so well behaved! Then we let her nap and went to my parent's house for dinner. She had SOOOO much fun playing in her sand box and playground! She was one happy camper! You can see her pictures in the picture section to see how excited she was.
Today has been much more relaxed. Kaitlyn played and napped while I worked! She is coloring now and getting ready for her yummy dinner!!
While updating her "resume" today for the agency, I was impressed and shocked to figure out she's done 18 Mervyn's ads!! That is so many in the short time she's been working!
Well, Kaitlyn had a blast last night. She got to go to Daddy's game and was so excited to play! She loves being outside. She cheered for her daddy when he hit the ball, she tried to run on the field on numerous occassions to play and she loved the dirt! She's our little adventerer!
Today she had an amazing time!! The day started at 7:20 am! We went with Auntie Christy and Cami to San Francisco. Kaitlyn had a go-see for the in-store Mervyn's display! Very exciting stuff! She did pretty good. They took her measurements, and just like at home she's 32" tall and 24-25 pounds. The shoot begins next week so we should know rather soon! Hope for the best!
Kaitlyn's agency has wanted her to register with an exclusive casting agent. They are only open Mon, Wed, and Fri and do nearly all the casting for SF and LA commercials. They also casted The Rock and Phenomenon. Kaitlyn registered for them and has already been submitted for 2 commercials being shot in the San Francisco area.
Then came the really fun part, a trip to the San Francisco zoo! I had never been so it was really a treat for me as well. The San Francisco zoo is located on the coast right outside of Daly City. It is HUGE. We didn't even get through 1/4 of it in 5 hours today.
We started with the African Safarri. That is where we saw all the Zebras, Giraffes and Gazelles mingling in the same exhibit. We then saw the huge gorillas!! We saw so many types of birds and African Wild life that it was truly amazing. We got to see so many animals and do so much today. I think the best part was the Children's zoo. It is a part of the zoo especially targeting children. You walk in and go see all of the owls, buzzards, vultures and exotic birds. They are all free so you come within inches of them. Then we hit the jackpot. The most amazing petting zoo I have ever seen! You go in through a gate and in this large area there are so many goats, sheep, ducks, birds and other animals running wild. Kaitlyn loved the goats. After being butted by a sheep she was mad at them. She loved riding the tractors around the farm! She saw baby chicks and ducks and owls that had just hatched that morning. It was the neatest thing!
After that we found the carosel. Kaitlyn did ok. She rode it about half way through when she decided she was done! Cami loved it! Kaitlyn also got to ride the steam train through the zoo! We stayed until close to closing time. Everyone was exhausted. Kaitlyn was sound asleep before we got home and hasn't woken up at all!
This morning started at dawn. We loaded up and had a peaceful drive to San Francisco. Kaitlyn was called back about 10 minutes to 9. She got dressed in a pair of blue cotton shorts with a ruffle bottom and a white tank with matching blue straps.
She did amazing. She loved getting her make-up done and was so still for her hair to be done. She couldn't wait to get on her piece of tape. She wanted so badly to be next to Riley. He was less thrilled about a girl next to him. Especially one that was anxious to kiss him on his lips.
They decided to do singles. Kaitlyn was done in less than 5 minutes. They got the cutest shot (I peek at the computer hehe) She is laughing really hard and has her hands behind her head stretching so her belly is sticking out. I love it! They loved it too! This ad will be released middle of June, I'll update the exact dates when I go downstairs.
From there we came home. Well, Kaitlyn came home and I came to work. She played and I worked. She ate and I worked. But it'll all come in handy because I get to take tomorrow off and take Kaitlyn to San Francisco! She is up for the In-Store Display for Mervyn's. Kaitlyn's agency is pretty confident about Kaitlyn since she is a favorite with them. It doesn't hurt that she did amazing today either!
Kaitlyn did get to play with me and Archie outside and loved it. Tonight she gets to go to Daddy's softball game after she finishes her dinner! It's a very busy time of year and we couldn't be happier!
We're back from Kaitlyn's doctor's appointment. Dr. Walsh was filling in for Dr. Chao and said that Kaitlyn's cough seems to be caused by the cold. We can give her cough supressents and keep using the cold mist humidifier. If it isn't gone in a week we have to take her back for chest x-rays and a whole work up to rule out asthma.
It looks like Kaitlyn has another busy day tomorrow! She has a Mervyn's shoot in the morning and 12 hours later, Daddy's softball game! We need to stock up on plenty of baby sun block since she has so many acitivities planned this week! The weather is nice and we want to protect her from the meannie sun and skin damage!
Kaitlyn is starting to talk! She learned three new words yesterday. She saw a bird on Baby Einstein and said Bird. Then, her dinner was hot, so she said hot after she touched it and then said blow and blew on it. She's way too cute!
She still has that darned cold so we are going to the doctor's this afternoon to verify it hasn't progressed into something else!
Before her nap, Kaitlyn and Archie went for a walk. Kaitlyn got to ride her bike and Archie got to smell everything he could find!! She loved the walk. She got to see all the horses that live near-by, some new doggie friends and a lot of fresh air! They are both worn out and sleeping now!!
We were also able to get some video of her this morning! Now that I've unpacked the camcorder expect much more video!!
Kaitlyn had such a fun Sunday. After a peaceful morning we went to her Grandma and Grandpa's for the afternoon and dinner. It was the first barbeque of the year now that it isn't constantly raining! Kaitlyn got to play on her very own swing set in the backyard. It seems every Sunday she gets a little more adventerous when playing!
This weekend she got to use the monkey bars (with a little help) and after that decided everything she could find was a pull-up bar! She loved climbing up the slide and loved running after Archie and Johnny who were playing together.
Yesterday was Kaitlyn's Nana's birthday. After Kaitlyn and Cami gave their presents, we went to Denny's for a late dinner. Both girls did so good! They were little angels!
Today, to celebrate Nana's birthday, she decided a trip to the circus was in order. We went to the 11 AM showing of the circus!
The girls did so good! Cami took a brief nap for the beginning, but Kaitlyn really enjoyed it. She loved the clowns! She had a lot of fun looking at and playing with the other kids there! Kaitlyn was very impressed with the man who stood on like 20 chairs stacked on top of one another!
Afterwards, we went and got some yummy food. Kaitlyn did a great job of not getting it on the floor and ate her food like a champ!
Next was a nap on the way to see a house Auntie Christy and Uncle Dennis might be getting. It sure was pretty!
A perfect end to the day was a shopping trip to Babie's 'r' Us!
Kaitlyn had another busy day yesterday. She had developed an Eczema rash on her face that we have been treating. She got to visit her grandma and Auntie Christina at their work and play for a little while. Then she got to have lunch with daddy. After a nice and long nap Kaitlyn got to play for a little while before we loaded up and headed out to another baseball game!
Kaitlyn got to go and watch the River Cats play last night. She was so excited when she saw Cami! She got to go with us, her nana and papa, Auntie Christy, and Uncle Dennis. She was a good girl and got to sit in her seat for the first 3 innings, right behind home plate. She discovered ketchup for the first time, at first she hated it, then she loved it. After sitting for a while we went for a walk. On the walk she met Dinger. She didn't know what to think. He was really nice and everytime he made a step toward her, she took an unsure step back. She got to meet a lot of really nice people who work at the park.
We then ventured back to our seats for another 1/2 an inning. After she decided she was done watching we went to the Kid's corner! Kaitlyn had a blast playing on the playground with the other kids. She went up and down the slide, followed the little boys through the tunnel and playing in the bark! Kaitlyn had a lot of fun.
When we got back to our seats, Kaitlyn had a couple of licks of my ice cream. She rested for a few then her cough started again really bad and she didn't feel so good. We didn't get to see the rest of the game, but we still had a lot of fun!
To celebrate her Nana's birthday tomorrow, Kaitlyn gets to go to the Circus. Then on Sunday she gets to go to Grandma and Grandpa's for some yummy dinner and if the weather is nice enough, some fun on her very own playground!
