Kaitlyn and Camaryn have some news!

They are going to be in another pageant together!  This one is a Sweetheart Pageant.  Kaitlyn has already had a lot of great sponsers: Her Grandma and Grandpa, Nana and Papa, Auntie Christina, Great Grandma Mauda and the Correctional Peace Officer's Foundation.

The girls have their dresses and their smiles all ready.  It will hopefully be a lot of fun!  If you want more details, or to come down and cheer the gorgeous princesses on, drop me an e-mail: tnkrbelll@aol.com

Wish them luck!

Kaitlyn learned a new word today!

The silly girl was reading her book, flipped to the page with the baby tiger on it and started saying Tiger.  Over and Over and Over and Over.  She was so happy with herself!  She kept pointing at the picture.  If she would have done it any harder I think she would have hurt herself.

So, our princess who refuses to say dada is saying Tiger clear as day.

Kaitlyn learned the Itsy Bitsy spider! She can do all of the hand motions for the song. She loves the rain and the sun the best!!

We're back from the doctor!

Kaitlyn has her first ever ear infection.  It's in both ears.  The doctor said that we caught in the earliest possible dectable stage, so I'm thrilled about that.  She doesn't seem to have any pain and is on anti-biotics to treat it.

Good News though!  She did put on 3 pounds since her well baby visit!  That brings her back up to the 42%!!  Yay Kaitlyn!

We don't know yet if we are going to take her to the Mervyn's shoot tomorrow.  She seems to be feeling better, but I want to be sure!

Kaitlyn's had a bad cold the last few days. She has a really bad cough and a runny nose. Luckily, there isn't a fever. Just to be on the safe side, she has a doctor's appointment today at 3:30. She isn't eating a lot and we don't want her to lose any weight.

BUT, if she's feeling better by morning, Kaitlyn did get asked to do another mervyn's shoot! Yay Kaitlyn! That would be her 5th one I believe! So, hopefully she'll be feeling up to it!

Kaitlyn spent a lot of today visiting her Uncle Ray in the hospital!  He was in an awful big-rig accident last week, and is having some serious complications from it.  He seems to be doing a little better, which we are all incredibly happy about and wish him a fast recovery.  Kaitlyn and Camaryn can't wait for their Uncle Ray to be his old self again!

There was some good news today!  Camaryn had another post-op appointment and our little pumpkin gets to start eating solid foods!  I think Kaitlyn is almost as excited to feed her as Aunt Christy and Uncle Dennis!

Kaitlyn had her 15 month appointment today!

The doctor was incredibly impressed with her development. She said she has the intellegience of close to a two year old. She was amazed with how inquisitive she is and how many body parts and animals she already knows.

She weights 19 pounds and 4 ounces, which brings her into the 7/8% for weight. She said it's ok that she is underweight. She said that because Kaitlyn is so active and always thinking and learning and taking things in her mind is too busy to take naps. And since naps are when babies do all of their growing, it makes sense that Kaitlyn isn't bigger. She said Kaitlyn will just end up like her mama.

She is 31" tall which puts her in the 75% which is awesome! She is growing nice and tall!

Her head grew some! It is 17 3/4" which is the 30/40% yay Kaitlyn!!!

because the doctor she last saw at another hospital made many mistakes when it came to getting Kaitlyn the appropriate vaccines, she was really behind. So, instead of just getting one today, she ended up having to get 5. Poor baby! :(
The doctor does think we need to wean Kaitlyn from the sippy cup, she is getting too old for it and we agree.  We'd like to transition her to cups by the time she is 16 months, so wish us luck!

Overall , the visit went really well.

Our poor little princess!

Kaitlyn isn't feeling too good! She threw up once today and slept away most of the day. If she isn't feeling better by morning, we'll be headed into the doctor! We don't want her to get as sick as she did at Christmas time!

Kaitlyn is getting to be such a big girl and we are so proud of her.

Tonight, we converted her bed to a big girl bed. She went right to sleep. It amazes me how much she has grown in the last 14 months.

Kaitlyn is using a fork 70% of the time now and actually getting food into her mouth. Her hand/eye co-ordination is incredible.

We had company for dinner last night and had a blast. Auntie Christy, uncle Dennis, Cousin Camaryn, Nana, Papa, Uncle Raymond, Jamie and Joel all came over for some dinner and delicious dessert. Kaitlyn loved showing off. She loves to look at her belly button and show it to you. She was amazed with Jamie's belly ring and you could see the wheels in her mind spinning.

Considering the fact that she is teething and molars are breaking through and making her gums bloody, Kaityn has been in amazing spirits. She has been happy and full of energy. She is starting to nap for shorter and shorter periods of time. She has been down to one nap for a couple of months now. That used to be a 2-2 1/2 hour nap and now it's maybe 45 minutes. She still gets her 12 hours of sleep at night so we are very grateful.

Kaitlyn is turning into a little girl right before our eyes. She loves to help mommy with the cooking and cleaning and lights up when Daddy gets home. She loves to give him kisses and run from him.

Kaitlyn is so incredibly smart! She is already saying many words, including: buh-bye, hi, baby, mama, up, bad and more. Her new favorite word is ball! We are so impressed with her vocabulary! Kaitlyn loves to run and jump, she enjoys giving love and dancing, and she loves spending time with cousin Camaryn! She is always trying to lift her and pick her up! She can't stand to be near her but not giving her love, or holding her hand, and lately even kissing her! When you ask Kaitlyn if she wants to go bye-bye, she'll start saying bye-bye as she walks to the door and trys to turn the knob! She also knows where the key goes and tries to insert any key into any door knob! Kaitlyn has learned to blow kisses and to give kisses. She loves to hug and has started to become incredibly jealous! Kaitlyn has always been a quick learner. She started on a sippy cup at 3 months and we omitted the bottle completely by 7. She gave up the pacifier at 4 months. Now if she sees a paci or bottle, we'll tell her, that's for baby's and she'll try and give it to her doll! At Auntie Christy and Uncle Dennis's house the other evening, she figured out how to turn the door knob to their bathroom and get inside! We're in for it now! She is truly a magical princess and every day is brighter because she is in it! glitter graphics

We're back from our wonderful trip to Alabama!! We got to see and meet so many people and have such a wonderful time.

A special thank you to Uncle Johnny and Aunt Theresa for being such wonderful, caring hosts. You made the trip magical until the late hours of the night.

Kaitlyn got to meet another cousin her age: Jake! Jake is the cutest little boy, he is so smart and so handsome! They had a blast playing together, and of course Kaitlyn had a ton of fun wanting whatever toy Jake was playing with!

Kaitlyn got to meet and spend a lot of time with her Aunt Linda, Uncle Earnest, Aunt Theresa and Uncle Johnny, Cousins: Amber, Aaron, Ashley, Aeriel, Cory, Tegan, Jake and even her Maw Maw! She also met her Aunt Jeannie and Aunt Faith.

We had some delicious food! Not only is Maw Maw an excellent cook whose food we could eat every night of the week, but the rest of the family knows the best places in town to get some good grub. We all came back with our pants fitting a little tighter!

Kaitlyn got to go to so many places and eat so many new foods. She played nearly 24 hours a day and went to bed almost willingly after all of the fun!

Kaitlyn also loved having her cousin Camaryn so close. For an entire week she was never farther than a set of stairs away. Kaitlyn loved to give her hugs and kisses and on more than one occassion tried to lift her.

Everyone was so incredibly wonderful and we absolutely hated to leave. The entire family did so much to make us feel so welcomed. Some did a bit (and a lot) of traveling to see us, but it made the visit so memorable. Amber is getting married this June and we plan on going back to Alabama for the ceremony and celebration!

Kaitlyn did so good on the plane! Even though she fussed some on the way back, she did at least 10 times better than I thought that she would. She did a lot of snoozing, and a lot of eating and drinking. We learned a lot to prepare for next time, like purchase Kaitlyn her own seat to ensure we have plenty of room.

Camaryn did so incredibly well. We were all so proud of her. She was the perfect baby, she was so well behaved in such a new environment. She even behaved during church services (Kaitlyn wasn't so good), and she looked so gorgeous in all of the clothes and headbands her mama brought. And Cami even came home with two new holes in her ears! That's right, she got those ears pierced to make room for her gorgeous diamond earrings!

While we were in Alabama, we had a suprise visitor meet us right after breakfast on our last day! Hope met us at the Huddle House in Alabama! They drove 10 hours through the night to send us off!

Kaitlyn was so sick the day after Christmas that we took her to the doctors.

At first, the doctor suspected she was mildly dehydrated and wanted to get a little bit of IV fluids in her and do some blood work.

When the blood work came back, it showed that Kaitlyn was much more dehydrated, that her glucose and sodium levels had both plummeted and that she was one sick little girl.

After 7 hours of fluids, some vomiting medicine and the promise to bring her back in the morning, she was able to go home. Her glucose had risen from a dangerous 36 to a low 87.

The next morning, Kaitlyn seemed to be feeling much better. She was still vomiting a little and diarrhea had set in, but she was acting much more like the Kaitlyn we all know!
