What a great and busy weekend! Kaitlyn went back to school on Thursday, very excited to be surrounded by the friends she had missed so much! After school, we piled in the car to Chick Fil A for our awesome weekly play date.
On the way, we were in stopped traffic on the freeway when the driver behind us got a bit distracted and rear-ended us. Other than some minor back pain I've been having, we're all fine! Kaitlyn was a little scared, but she was back to normal as soon as I pulled out her DVD player while I talked to the other driver. :) She's a champ!
We went to Chick Fil A, where Kaitlyn played and played. Then we came home to get ready for Daddy's holiday party! Kaitlyn looked gorgeous in her purple velvet dress and matching shoes. I got sick right before dinner was served so our prince charming, aka Daddy, took us home to feel better! Grandma and Grandpa brought our food home and it was delicious!
On Friday, Kaitlyn had school. For "J" week she took in her little Jasmine character. She had fun playing, painting and having a great time. After school we had lunch with daddy before heading to the mall to meet Camaryn and Auntie Christy at Build A Bear to make some Moose. Kaitlyn got super grumpy shortly after so we headed home for a nice rest.
Yesterday Kaitlyn had dance class in the morning. She's progressing nicely and looks so cute doing her positions! We ran a couple of errands and then headed home to rest. Daddy and I worked on putting up the outside decorations while Kaitlyn cleaned her room. Then, we headed to Nana and Papa's house where Daddy made some delicious chicken and steak! No complaints here at all! After we picked up Auntie Chisty, Uncle Dennis and Camaryn to look at some Christmas lights. It didn't take long at all for both girls to be sound asleep.
This morning we headed to Shelby's 3rd birthday party where Kaitlyn bounced and bounced and bounced. Unfortanetly we had to leave early to make it to Nico's party a tad bit late where Kaitlyn got to bounce and bounce and bouce some more! She's so excited she got to play with so many classmates and really looks forward to one of her best friend's party's next week!
This week, we have a lot planned. Adventures to look at lights, Christmas parties, Santa's Secret Adventure, a trip to Imax, Kaitlyn's gymnastics show and her Christmas show at school, and of course the rest of our Christmas shopping/wrapping and making!
Keep your eye's open tomorrow for new pictures. I added more disk space to Kaitlyn's site so I can add more. :)
We hope everyone is having a joyous holiday season! May all your dreams and wishes be filled
It's been a tad bit busy around here, which is just how I like it!
Of course, some of it isn't so great. Kaitlyn had a really bad reaction to her vaccines Monday night :( She went to bed around 8:30 and was up shortly after midnight with a high fever and bad headache. She refused medicine and tossed and turned all night. She developed a yucky rash on her face, it was miserable!
This of course meant no school on Tuesday for Kaitlyn! She was still feeling sick, so we gave her some medicine thanks to the advice nurse. She started to feel better so we headed to FairyTale Town to meet Auntie Jamie, Miss Bobbi, Carmen and Jaylee! But, FairyTale town was closed, so we headed to the Bounce Spot where we got the whole place to ourselves! It was awesome!
After a couple hours, Kaitlyn's headache came back and we headed home for more medicine and rest! After a long rest, we heard "Ho! Ho! Ho!" outside! We ran out and it was Santa on the firetruck! He was dancing up a storm while his helpers handed out candy canes! Kaitlyn was so thrilled to see him!!
Kaitlyn stayed home again today and is napping again. Hopefully she'll back to normal tomorrow!
Friday night we went and got our Christmas tree with Grandma and Grandpa. It's HUGE in the words of Kaitlyn. We followed that up with a trip to Red Robin for Reid's birthday dinner! Happy Birthday Reid! Kaitlyn was so cute and kept cuddling up to him. As soon as we sat down, she said "Mommy, did you bring your camera?" I said yes, she grabbed Reid and started posing with him. It was so cute!
We got home rather late, but still got up early Saturday morning. Kaitlyn had dance class with Shelby and Claire. They did great! Kaitlyn was SOOOO close to doing the splits and did great with her positions.
From there we headed to Target and then to Nana's house to play and pick up daddy! When we got home, we started getting ready for the Fair Oaks Parade to celebrate Christmas in the Village. We arrived there and boy was it cold! Kaitlyn and I represented our titles along side Camaryn, Hope, and Shelby. I got to be the grown up in charge :P The girls did wonderful. It was so cute, when the photographer was taking pictures in front of the grand stand, he got close to Kaitlyn to take her picture, she totally hammed it up and posed while smiling. It was adorable. Ever since, she has been asking if she will be in the newspaper.
Right after the parade we did a quick change of clothes before we headed to the bowling alley to meet some awesome friends I've known since High school! Daphne and Sierra! Daphne brought Isaiah and Justice and Sierra brought her niece Madeline and nephew Leland. The kids had so much fun! William and his mommy ended up there too Saturday night and Kaitlyn was on cloud nine!
After another late night, we woke up early on Sunday to put the lights on the trees. We got dressed and ready for the parade in Placerville! Auntie Beth went with us. The weather was GORGEOUS! It was warm, sunny and fantastic! There were so many people there and such a great parade! Kaitlyn did better than I've seen her do before. She yelled "Merry Christmas" to everyone that we passed while waving, blowing kisses and keeping her gorgeous crown on!
After all that sunshine, it was time to head back. Our original plan was to head to Fairytale town, but since the parade took so long and traffic was so bad, we nixed that idea. We did go to the cemetery and visit Matthew's site, his tree is still standing with ornaments. I promised Kaitlyn we would go and pick out the perfect tree star for him this week.
We had Sunday dinner with the family and Billy. Auntie Christina made yummy lasagna and we put all the ornaments on the tree! It looks gorgeous!
Kaitlyn had school this morning and then her 4 year old check up! She is officially 40 3/4" inches tall (75 percitile), 37 pounds (60 percentile), has perfect vision and perfect hearing. The doctor did notice that she has developed a heart murmur. He believes she's probably always had it and it's the same as Matthew's, it's just hard to hear until their heart is this age. Matthew's was found through ultra sound in the NICU. Since they knew he had it, it was easier for them to listen too. He believes it is a systolic murmur and probably won't cause her any problems. Kaitlyn "passed" all the developmental milestones for a 4 year old, a 5 year old and nearly all for a 6 year old! All she has to do is learn to tie her shoes to be there! She had 4 shots today and didn't cry at all! She was too excited to go to our Super Secret Surprise place!
For Kaitlyn's Super Secret Surprise, we met Camaryn, Carmen, and Jaylee at Build A Bear! Those girls had such a good time! Kaitlyn made a Christmas Bunny she named Alexa, Camaryn made the Moose Hal and Holly, and Jaylee made a moose Kaitlyn named Alexis. From there, they had a ride on the carousel before we headed to Chick Fil A.
If you haven't received your Thank You card yet, I am so sorry! Kaitlyn is writing her name on all of them and that's taking some time, there were quite a few ;) Expect them no later than Monday!
Kaitlyn is getting really close to grasping reading. She is great at writing all of her letters and *building* words using them. For most words, she can sound out the first 2 letters of the word. We're just working on the rest of the syllabels down :) I'm sure she'll be reading by Kindergarten (which is next year!!!!)
We're looking forward to a busy week, super busy weekend and a fantastic holiday season!
Here are some pictures Kaitlyn drew me today. The blue one is supposed to be me. She said it's me being beautiful. :P And, we finally got back Kaitlyn's school pictures!
Comments What a beautiful picture you drew of Mommy, Kaitlyn! It looks just like her!! =)
What a busy week this has been! We have enveloped ourselves fully in the Christmas Season with Holiday season.
Thanksgiving was wonderful. As a family, we have a lot to be grateful for. We are surrounded by wonderful family and amazing friends. We are blessed to have our health, a gorgeous happy preschooler who is smart as a whip, and we are blessed to be the proud parents of an incredible angel who touched our lives and that of so many more. We have truly been blessed.
Thanksgiving this year fell on Daddy and Grandpa's birthday. We started the morning giving presents, cards and birthday wishes. Grandma made a delicious dinner and we were joined by Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Christina, Uncle Brian, Uncle Scotty, Auntie Jamie, Auntie Beth and Uncle Paul. Kaitlyn made the cutest Thanksgiving cards for Grandma and Grandpa, Daddy and Nana and Papa. All by herself she wrote: "Happy Thanksgiving" and on the inside she wrote her name, "I Love you" and the recipient's names. She made her own hand turkey, added glitter, pom poms, used paint, markers and crayons and did every little bit by herself! She was quite proud.
After a delicious dinner and browsing through the ads at Grandma's we headed to the cemetery to visit Matthew. We took flowers to his cemetery "friends" so they could all look festive and fall like. Matthew was very much missed this year.
From the cemetery, we went to Nana and Papa's where we had another delicious dinner. This time we were joined by Nana, Papa, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis, Camaryn, Uncle Dean, Auntie Barbara, Uncle Dean's mommy, "Pop" Mike, Auntie Stephanie, Uncle Craig, Hope, Beau, Dorin, Nicole, Dominic, Billy and Chet! It sure was a houseful. Everyone had a great time!
Friday morning we woke up at 3 AM and headed to the sales. Grandma, myself, Auntie Christina, Uncle Brian, Auntie Jamie and Uncle Scotty hit all the sales and accomplished a lot of shopping. We spent nearly the entire day out shopping and then went back home to do all the wrapping before doing more shopping, then more wrapping and more shopping then more wrapping.
It was a busy day!
Saturday morning was a good day! We started it eary with Daddy and Billy going out shooting, Grandma going out shopping, Grandpa going out fishing and me and Kaitlyn working on bows and tutu skirts!
For dinner, we had some delicious pizza from my favorite place while I worked on some Christmas presents before it was bedtime!
Sunday morning we headed to the mall to see the big guy in red, Santa! Kaitlyn was so excited. She patietly waited her turn and then ran to see Santa and give him a whole lot of hugs! He asked her what she wanted for Christmas and she told him all that she wanted was a blue bouncy ball! She was so excited and so happy!
After, we went by some more stores and Sonic before heading home! Once we got home, we headed to the cemetery and decorated Matthew's cemetery with all of his Christmas decorations! A pretty blue tree, lots of Christmas decorations and beautiful Santa's.
We followed it up with Sunday dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's! Auntie Christina, Uncle Brian, Auntie Beth, Uncle Paul came over and we were joined by our fantastic friends, Jacob, Daphne, Isiaih and Justice! Kaitlyn had an absolute blast running back and forth between playing with Isiaih and playing with Justice.
Monday, it was back to school for Kaitlyn. She couldn't have been happier. After school she started her 4 year old gymnastics class and did amazing. I was really impressed with how well she did doing so many mre complicated routines.
After gymnastics we picked up Auntie Christy and Camaryn and headed to Roseville mall for more shopping. The new wing is absolutely beautiful. If you haven't been yet, go! It has so much to offer! We got more Christmas presents, came home to see daddy and wrap them.
On Tuesday, Kaitlyn went to school and we had a "home" day. We wrapped more presents, made more crafts and got to work on a lot of holiday necessities.
Wednesday morning started off with school again, as always. After school we headed to pick up Aiden and Miss Cynthia to go to John's Incredible Pizza. I hadn't been to the one in Roseville yet, and it was so much fun! Auntie Jamie and Carmen joined us. There as some delicious food, I mean absolutely delicious and the games were so much fun. It was fun! After John's we headed home to see Daddy!!
This morning was another day at school. We followed it up by going to our weekly Chick Fil A play date! Yay! This time we were joined by Auntie Christy, Camaryn, Auntie Jamie, Carmen, Miss Sarah, Kayla, Dylan, Miss Shawna, Izzie and Austin! The girls had so much fun!! After lunch we headed to the mall and had a whole lot of shopping to do!
We have a ton to do this weekend and next week! Tomorrow night we are going to get our Christmas Tree and it's Grandma and Grandpa's anniversary, after we are going to Red Robin to have dinner for Reid's birthday! Saturday Kaitlyn has dance class followed by the Christmas in the Village parade in Fair Oaks, followed by a play date with friends! Sunday Kaitlyn has the parade in Placerville followed by a Winter Wonderland treat!
Next week we also have holiday parties, play dates, Christmas Tree lightings and a whole lot of Christmas magic to take a part in!
We hope that your Thanksgiving was amazing and your holiday season has gotten off to a magical start!
Comments Woooo girl! I got tired of running around by just reading!LOL! I thought I was the only one that ran around like that for the Christmas season! - Mercedes
We would like to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!!! May you be surrounded by those you love, everything you are thankful for, and filled with peace!
What an amazing weekend! Yesterday was Kaitlyn's 4th Birthday Party! As you probably know it was an Alice in Wonderland type theme. The goal was to make the party as bright and colorful as possible. Thanks to many late nights with Auntie Christina, many busy afternoons of Auntie Christy and Auntie Jamie, non-stop days and nights with Grandma we were able to get a lot of work done before the party! Auntie Christina showed up nice and early through the dense fog to look at our wet wonderland haha, and Auntie Jamie, Auntie Christy and Nana came over early to help get everything nice and beautiful!
The party started at noon. We had over 50 adults and nearly 30 kids! Everyone got to use glitter, glue, pom pom balls, scissors and stickers to make their own mad hatter hats! Tweedle Dee (Auntie Christina) and Tweedle Dum (Auntie Sammie) were on hand to help all the kids out! Auntie Beth helped out with face painting and The White Rabbit (Uncle Davey) was on hand to give out tattoos!
Auntie Sammie brought a great, gorgeous, over the top cake with her and we had cookies, cupcakes, cucumber sandwiches, cheese, crackers, salami, peanut butter and banana sandwiches, chips and so much more food!
Auntie Beth made an awesome 4 of hearts pinata that everyone enjoyed beating, the candles were blown out and everyone played and played and played! I'm sure Kaitlyn wasn't the only one to sleep good!
Kaitlyn was so glad to be surrounded by so many members of her family and so many friends. We are truly blessed!
After the party, Kaitlyn sure was spoiled with more toys than any kid could ask for!
Today we went wedding dress shopping with Auntie Sammie before Sunday dinner!
Kaitlyn is off school all week for Thanksgiving and we are looking forward to a lot of updates, a lot of fun and a lot of art!
Thank you so much to everyone that made yesterday so amazing.
After the fun of Monday, I decided there would be no school for Kaitlyn on Tuesday, it was truly a day of rest! We spent the day lounging, playing with new toys, looking at Birthday Day pictures and having fun!
On Wednesday it was back to the busy life we're used to :)! Kaitlyn went to school and then when I picked her up Auntie Jamie and baby Carmen came over to help us get some things ready for the birthday party. Soon, Auntie Christy and Carmen joined us to do some more birthday party planning!
Thursday morning was more school and then a trip to Chick Fil A for playdate before we worked on even more birthday stuff! Can you tell we're excited about the party?
Today at school, Kaitlyn made friendship stew with all of her friends. When I picked her up, we went with Daddy to have lunch before coming home for more birthday stuff!
We are SUPER excited for tomorrow! As of right now, we have 60 adults and nearly 30 kids RSVPd Yes! We can't wait to see all of our awesome friends and family! We have nearly 250 tissue paper flowers, several dozen super glittery signs, dozens of neon balloons, dozens upon dozens of tea cups and a whole lotta fun in store! We cannot wait to see everyone tomorrow! If you aren't able to make it, stay tuned for pictures!
First off, thank you so much to everyone that made today absolutely amazing!! Kaitlyn was thrilled with all of the birthday messages and phone calls!
It was a super busy day to say the least. Expect a couple hundred pictures and a few videos!
This morning started with Kaitlyn waking up ready for presents! She opened up her presents from Mommy and Daddy and then Auntie Christina called to say Happy Birthday! Then, Kaitlyn had to say Bye Bye to Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa. While they all headed out, Kaitlyn took her morning bath. While she was in the bath tub, she got a phone call from Princess Auroa to wish her a Happy Birthday!
After Kaitlyn was ready for school, off to school she went! While she was at school I got to set up the house for her make-up party.
When School was getting ready to finish up, I took cupcakes to her class for after lunch. Everyone sang her happy birthday and wished her many, many, many happy Birthday wishes while eating their yummy cupcakes.
After school, we rushed to the car to go to gymnastics. On the way, we went by the post office, Kaitlyn was SO excited that she had a card from MawMaw Dora. She carried it around with her everywhere, so proud of it. We got to gymnastics and found out that today was team pictures! What a surprise! Kaitlyn did great for her pictures and I can't wait to get them back!
Kaitlyn had a fantastic class and at the end of her class she graduated to the 4 year old class! Way to go Princess!
After gymnastics, we headed to Auntie Christy's house to pick her and Camaryn up where we got to wish Uncle Dennis a Happy Birthday and where Kaitlyn had some presents waiting for her! And then we headed to Carl's Jr. on the way back to Grandma's house! We arrived and so did Miss Sarah, Kayla, Dylan, Auntie Stephanie, Hope and Beau. The girls got make overs, pretty hair, pretty make-up, pretty nails and lots and lots and lots of glitter. A lot of glitter!
While we were having make-over time, the mailman came and had a package for Kaitlyn from Erika, Noah, Adam and Joshua. Kaitlyn was so excited to open it and see a new 5-in-1 story coloring book and new barbie magnetic dolls (her favorite!)! Kaitlyn's pictures from Silverbend pumpkin patch!
After the girls finished getting gorgeous, we headed to the mall. The girls went to build-a-bear. Kaitlyn made a new sparkly blue bear with an angel outfit and some jammies!
From there we headed to Sears to have pictures taken. The girls did awesome.
After Sears, we went to Chuck E Cheese. Holy Moly am I exhausted! Thank you so much to everyone who came out to celebrate Kaitlyn's birthday. Thank you to Nana and Papa for the awesome gifts and to Dorin, Nicole and Dominick for the fantastic Diamond Castle Barbie gifts!
When we got home, at nearly 10 PM! Kaitlyn was exhausted and fell asleep pretty quickly, but not until she got to listen to her new Hannah Montana CD on her new Disney Princess CD player.
Over the next day or two, expect a couple hundred new pictures from the birthday day, the pumpkin patch pictures, pictures from Sears, and a few new videos!
Just think, the day after tomorrow, our little princess will be 4! My, oh my, how time has passed and boy oh boy has she grown!
Kaitlyn is so excited for her birthday! She has been telling everyone that will listen that her birthday is right around the corner!
We've had a pretty fun and busy week! We've spent a lot of time working on tissue paper flowers (thanks so much to Auntie Christy and Camaryn for coming over to help!)
On Monday, it was a "lazy" day. We tackled the obstacle that was Kaitlyn's room and sorted out clothes that she couldn't wear anymore, toys that she was too big for, and just things in general that would be better suited for those that needed them!
On Tuesday, we went to Daniel's bowling party! Kaitlyn had a blast and did wonderful, getting 4 strikes! Way to go our bowling princess.
Wednesday, Kaitlyn headed back to school. She couldn't have been more excited after their long Veteran's Day break. It was the day of her parent/teacher conference and that went great! Kaitlyn is excelling on so many levels! She's above age level for all 4 aspects of preschool, so great job Kaitlyn! She is going to start back into speech therapy. Her teacher and the therapist both feel that she was graduated prematurely (Daddy and I agree) so she is going to be re-evaluated so see if they can help her with a few more sounds, we want her to be easily understood by all before kindergarten.
Thursday was another fun day at school. Kaitlyn passed out the rest of her birthday invitations. After school we got to meet up at Chick Fil A with Sara, Kayla, Dylan, Auntie Christy, Camaryn, Auntie Jamie and Carmen. The girls had a blast, as always. And from there we went to gymastics.
Friday involved lunch with daddy and a lot of shopping! We had the chance to go to my high school's last football game, ever, so we took it!
Today was a lot of birthday party shopping!
We hope everyone has had an amazing week and we can't wait to see as many of you as possible next Saturday!
Kaitlyn would like to wish a very Happy 1st Birthday to her friend Alexis and a very Happy 4th Birthday to her friend Daniel today!! Have a blast friends!!!
Kaitlyn would also like to say a big thank you to all of the men and women who have and continue to serve our country.
Last week was incredibly busy. We spent the week with Kaitlyn going to school, doing gymnastics, dinner at Nana and Papa's, our weekly playdate at Chick Fil A, dinner with Grandma and Grandpa and plenty of time with friends and family and helping mommy prepare for Great Grandma Bobbie's Memorial services.
The services were on Friday. Everything turned out really nice. Thank you so much to everyone that helped and offered their kind words and support.
Kaitlyn is handling everything ok for the most part. She has had a few nightmares and constantly asks us to make sure that not everyone in the family dies and leaves her alone and to make sure that the bed next to Matthew in heaven is open for her for that day far, far, far, far, far, far, far away.
Uncle Ray, Uncle Calvin, Ashley, Nikki and Adrian all came up for the services. Kaitlyn was so excited to see Nikki and Adrian and wanted nothing more than to play with them non-stop. She was not a happy camper when it came time for them to leave! Kaitlyn was ecstatic to be able to spend so much time with Uncle Ray.
On Saturday, Kaitlyn had her first pre-ballet dance class and did wonderful. As always, we're incredibly proud of her and all of her acheivments. She was thrilled to be able to play with her friend Shelby and new friend Claire. Her teacher is great and so incredibly patient.
Saturday night we had dinner with Nana, Papa, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis, Camaryn, Auntie Jamie, Uncle Joel, Carmen and Uncle Ray. Since we wanted to be sure Uncle Ray had a good time before he left, we finished off the evening with drinks at Auntie Christy's house while Nana and Papa watched the girls. Ray made Washington Apples which were delicious!
Sunday, we did our weekly trip to the cemetery before heading over to see Uncle Ray before he left. Kaitlyn had a blast playing with her cousins. While she wasn't anxious to leave, that quickly evaporated when we got to Grandma and Grandpa's house where she got to play Guitar Hero and see Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Christina, Uncle Brian, Auntie Jamie, Uncle Scotty, Auntie Beth, Uncle Paul and Zoe. Of course, she did spend quite a bit of time running around like a mad lady excitedly screaming "Jimmie Johnson is the winner!" over and over again!
Today, we spent hours cleaning and organizing Kaitlyn's room. That girl has way too much stuff!
Tomorrow Kaitlyn is in the Folsom Veteren's Day Parade before going to Daniel's bowling birthday party!
We hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and week!
