We hope everyone had a very safe, happy and spooktacular Halloween!
This has been a busy week!
Friday night was Kaitlyn's last soccer game of the season. We already miss it. After a great game, we came home and Kaitlyn helped Grandma make a scary gingerbread house. I got to work on things for the soccer party and then it was time for bed. Daddy, Grandpa, Uncle Paul and Uncle Brian all went camping for the weekend with only what they could carry on their backs!
Saturday morning we went to Great Grandma Mauda's house and Kaitlyn met her doggy Babs, who she loves. From there we went to the awesome soccer party that included a lot of bouncing, some good friends and yummy pizza!
Saturday evening we went to Fairy Tale Town to do some serious trick or treating. Kaitlyn and Camaryn dressed up like Tinkerbell and met Captain Hook and Peter Pan as well as many mermaids.
Sunday we went to see Grandma Bobbie in the hospital. Kaitlyn took her a stuffed doggie to snuggle with "so she wouldn't be scared", some pictures and a card. She sang her songs, told her stories, gave her kisses and told her how much she loved her.
From the hospital we went to the Pumpkin Patch with Grandma, Auntie Christina, Auntie Jamie, Uncle Joel, Baby Carmen and Zoey. Kaitlyn picked out a lot of big pumpkins. She had her picture taken by the photographer there who asked if Kaitlyn could model for his studio, she was thrilled to say "Of Course!"
After the pumpkin patch, we got to see Daddy!!! Kaitlyn was thrilled. Daddy and I went to the cemetery and then the hospital before going home to see Kaitlyn before bed time.
Monday morning was a school day for Kaitlyn. It was followed by gymnastics and time with Camaryn! Kaitlyn loves spending time with Camaryn. She keeps asking if they could just be sisters instead :P
On Tuesday, Camaryn went with me to pick up Kaitlyn from school and we headed straight to the pumpkin patch. The girls had a blast in the hay maze, seeing the animals and picking out some big ol' pumpkins. From there, we headed home to carve them :)
Wednesday was another busy day! When Kaitlyn got out of school we headed down to Fairy Tale town to take some pictures of Dorothy with the Yellow Brick road and then play at Fairy Tale town and then the zoo :)
Thursday was time for the kid's Halloween party! After Kaitlyn got out of school, we headed to Mrs. Sarah's house to set up and get ready for the fun! The kids got to decorate pumpkins, picture mats, foam candy corn, cookies and make candy apples and candy necklaces before putting on their costume fashion show!
Friday was Halloween. Kaitlyn decided that she didn't want to be without Mommy or Daddy after the passing of her Great Grandmother and stayed home from school. While Daddy rested, I took her to Daddy, Grandma and Auntie Christina's work for trick or treating. Then, we headed to Nana and Papa's for a while to visit. Then, we went home to get ready for trick or treating. Kaitlyn got on her costume while the rain continued to pour down on us. Kaitlyn had a blast going to all of the houses. We ended up going to my old teacher's house and getting a lot of candy through the night.
We spent today at Nana and Papa's house playing with Camaryn, eating pizza and Chicken and Dumplings. Kaitlyn is going to be well rested tonight that's for sure!
What a busy few days leading up to what will be a busy weekend.
On Wednesday, we spent time at the cemetery after Kaitlyn got out of school. She was great, as always, of helping me water the grass and clean up the flowers on Matthew's "funeral" day.
After that we went to Fairy Tale Town and met up with Auntie Jamie, Cousin Carmen, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis, and Camaryn. Everyone played, a lot. I think the girls got a great work out! From there we headed to the park to chase feed the ducks before loading into the car.
We went to pick up daddy from work and then headed to a fantastic soccer practice! It's amazing to see how much these kids have made! We are so proud of Kaitlyn, she hasn't missed a single game and only 2 practices (one in Vegas and Matthew's angel day). We are so proud of her commitment, her dedication and how much improvement we've seen from her!
After practice we headed to Nana and Papa's for dinner! Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis, Camaryn, Auntie Jamie, Uncle Joel, Carmen and Auntie Barbara joined us. It was delicious (thanks Daddy!).
We want to send good thoughts with Uncle Dennis. He flew to Mexico to be with his very sick grandfather. We wish him a safe and peaceful trip and can't wait to see him when he gets back!
Today was another fun day! I got to pick up Camaryn in the morning to spend the day with us! Kaitlyn was so excited that Camaryn picked her up from school. Then, the girls went and picked out balloons and cards for Miss Sarah's birthday.
For Miss Sarah's birthday we went to Chuck E Cheese for a few hours. The girls made new friends, went through a couple hundred tokens and had a blast. I don't think there was a single complaint :)
After that, we went to the mall and ran some errands. Daddy is heading out tomorrow with Grandpa, Uncle Paul and Uncle Brian for a camping trip!
We have such a fun weekend planned! I can't wait to share pictures!
Hello Family and Friends! Did you see how close Kaitlyn is to having 100,000 visitors?!?
Well, I'm sure it's coming to no surprise that we had a busy weekend!
Friday night was a great soccer game! It's been amazing and fun to see how much improvement the whole team has shown this season! The team did great and we were so proud of Kaitlyn and watching her get in the middle of the scrimmages! It was a great game!
After the great game, we picked up the Burger King we promised Kaitlyn and then headed home.
Saturday morning started bright and early. Mommy and Daddy laid Sod at the cemetery for Matthew for a couple of hours while Kaitlyn hung out and helped Grandma clean.
We got cleaned up and pretty before heading downtown with Grandma to meet Auntie Christy, Nana and Camaryn for the Ballet of Alice and Wonderland. Alice came out just to meet the girls and they were so excited! The show was sold out, so we headed to Downtown Plaza to see the Christmas store, the sales and the carousel!
Sunday morning, Kaitlyn and I went with Grandma to scout a place for Auntie Sammie and Uncle Davey's wedding.
From there, we headed home to get ready for the pumpkin patch! We met Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis, Camaryn, Nana and Papa at the pumpkin patch for pony rides, a haunted barn, huge slides, hay rides, train rides and of course pumpkins!
Yesterday we had gymastics, errand running and a lot of fun!
Today, was Kaitlyn's picture day at school. I have been told they got some great shots, I just can't wait to see them! We picked up some things for the soccer party, went to the cemetery to water the new grass and then Kaitlyn took a nap!
This week we have soccer practice (YAY!), Soccer Game (YAY!), Chuck E Cheese, Tutu and Bow making party :P, Fairytale town, more pumpkin patches, and daddy's camping trip! It's going to be a great and busy few days!
And here we are getting close to closing another week. It has been a whirlwind, that's for sure.
This weekend Kaitlyn and Camaryn were so excited to have a sleep over at Nana and Papa's house! Thanks so much to Auntie Barbara and Uncle Dean for helping to get the tents set up and looking great with a lantern and everything!
Saturday morning we took our time getting around before heading to Luke's birthday party! Kaitlyn was so excited to see Luke and his mommy and Melanie. She had an absolute blast playing, eating cake and watching cars.
When we got home, we got all of our overnight things packed and headed over to Nana and Papa's house. Kaitlyn and Camaryn ran towards each other as though they haven't seen each other in years. They sure are dramatic ;)
We had dinner, roasted marshmallows, ate smores and then everyone got in their tents to sleep. I was so surprised and impressed with both girls for sleeping outside all night!! They had a nice and lazy morning, running, playing, cleaning up, drinking hot cocoa and enjoying each other's company.
From Nana and Papa's we headed to REI while Kaitlyn stayed and played with Nana and Papa. After REI, the three of us headed home with Archie so we could have Sunday dinner with Auntie Christina, Uncle Brian, Auntie Jamie and Uncle Scotty. Kaitlyn slept through it all :)
Monday morning started bright and early. Kaitlyn had school but Daddy was home from work for the holiday. Kaitlyn's day at school was great and followed up by some fun gymnastics! From there, we met Daddy at the cemetery. Kaitlyn was a good helper with mowing and watering the grass. After the cemetery we went to the pumpkin patch where Kaitlyn picked out even more pumpkins. She loves pumpkins and how can we tell such a pretty pumpkin princess no?
Tuesday was another early morning with a good day at school with Kaitlyn. She loves her teachers and all of her friends. Promising they will be best friends forever. :)
On Tuesday afternoon we met Auntie Jamie at the fabric store to get the things to make tutu skirts for Halloween :) Kaitlyn was so excited, she still can't wait to make hers. That evening Great Grandma Mauda came over with some prizes for Kaitlyn. She LOVES her scary, haunted carosel and new shirt and sweater :) After dinner we decided to do our first round of pumpkin carving! What do you think of them?
Wednesday was Matthew's angel day. We all miss Matthew so much, and Kaitlyn is no exception. She misses her baby brother every day. We went to the cemetery early in the afternoon and saw Grandma and Auntie Christina. From there we went to a pretty good lunch (where Kaitlyn was reminded of how much she loves calamari even if it is made of squidworth!) and then headed to the mall. Daddy bought some stuff for Daddy and Kaitlyn bought some things for her and Camaryn. After that we went back to the cemetery with Nana, Papa, Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis and Camaryn.
Daddy made us a delicious dinner when we got home.
Today was a good day too! Kaitlyn loved school. She had such a blast with her friends and was so happy to go. After school, she got her clothes changed and headed to a super fun playdate with her bestest friends and cousin Camaryn and Kayla. She was so excited to go. We spent 3 hours before we realized that the entire resturaunt was now empty and it was time to go to the mall!!
At the mall, Camaryn eagerly introduced the world of Cheese on a Stick to Kaitlyn, who, to my surprise, LOVED it! The girls were great and I know Kaitlyn did not want to leave :)
Tomorrow is another fun day! Kaitlyn has a soccer game in the evening (let me know if you're interested in going and I'll get the details) and Kaitlyn gets to take something to school for D day so she couldn't be more excited!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of the loving comments, cards and messages. It touches us on a level you'll never understand.
Kaitlyn wants to send all of her love to Matthew today on his Angel Day. Not a day goes by that she doesn't love, miss and talk about her baby Brother and all of the wonderful things they did together and he now does in Heaven Above.
We also send our love to all of the other baby angels mommies and daddies honoring their little ones today for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day.
We have done a great job this week of staying busy :)
Kaitlyn had a blast at school. It was C week, so today she took a Crown to school. She really wanted to take Camaryn, but when I explained you could only take things, a Crown was the winner!
She was also very excited because she got to be the lunch helper twice this week!
Monday's gymnastic lesson was wonderful. It went really good, she's learned so much and is so obviously ready to go to the next level. Soon, she'll be in the 4 year old class :) We then hit some Halloween shops to find Kaitlyn's Halloween costume. She's decided to be Dorothy and have Zoe be Toto. We also took balloons to the cemetery for Matthew's 14 month birthday.
On Tuesday, Kaitlyn had an array of costumes to have her pictures taken for her birthday invitations. It was so hard making a selection! She was such a ham and worked her way into the arts of some photographers.
On Wednesday we hit Chick Fil A for lunch with Camaryn and Auntie Christy. They had a blast before heading to the mall.
Practice was canceled Wednesday night, so we headed straight to Daddy's game. We got to see Auntie Jamie, Uncle Joel and beautiful Carmen. She is growing so fast! Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis and Camaryn joined us too to cheer on Daddy, Papa and Uncle Joel.
Yesterday we headed to San Francisco with Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis and Camaryn. The girls had so much fun. One of the neatest parts was the end at the giraffes. The zoo keepers took both Kaitlyn and Camaryn into the Giraffe pen and helped them feed and pet the giraffes. Check out the video:
This has been a great week! Kaitlyn has been eager for school each and every day!
This was B Week. All week she learned about the letter B, Best Friends, Family and Pets. On Friday she took a Barbie to school. She said it was perfect for B week because it has two B's in it! She's learned how to do add and subtract this week and is super excited about that! She's made more friends and is working on spelling some words! She'll be reading at no time!
Kaitlyn had Gymnastics on Monday. She loves Gymnastics, she always has so much fun and excels so much in her class. I'm sure she'll be more than ready for her promotion next month to the older class. She's such a great listener and learner! We followed gymnastics up with a trip to the mall to start making a dent in a Fall/Winter Wardrobe. Kaitlyn's taste have gotten incredibly picky, so it made it interesting ;). While a few months ago she loved everything at Gymboree, this time she would have nothing to do with most of it. Instead she chose to do most of her shopping at Macy's! She is growing up fast!
Wednesday was mostly a day of sewing and relaxing. Kaitlyn had soccer practice that night and made me proud! The team did great! They were all perfect listeners and practiced SO hard!
On Thursday we got to Babysit Camaryn while Auntie Christy had some work done at the Dentist office. While Kaitlyn was at school Camaryn helped me pick out and pack a picnic lunch. Then she helped me pick up Kaitlyn at school, where Kaitlyn got to show her off and introduce her to everyone! From there we headed to William Land Park to feed the ducks and have a picnic before heading to Fairy Tale Town.
We went to Daddy's game that night with Nana, Papa and Uncle Dennis! Yay Underdawgs on your win! Kaitlyn was thrilled to watch Daddy play :)
On Friday Kaitlyn had school and then we had a fun playdate at Chick Fil A with Auntie Christy, Camaryn, Miss Sarah, Kayla, Dylan, Miss Marilyn and Alexis. The girls had a blast playing until it was time to go. Kaitlyn was being a bit on the onery side and showed that she needed a nap :P We headed to the mall, ordered some pictures and then a nap she took! After her nap we arrived at Miss April's Dance studio to visit and drop off cookies!
Friday night was a soccer game! YAY All Stars on a Great Game!! Even 2 players down they played like champs and everyone was eager to get in there and play in the mud! Thanks so much to Grandma, Nana, Auntie Barbara, Uncle Dean, Auntie Christy, Dorin, Nicole and Dominick for coming to the game!! It's always great to have a strong fan base! After the game we got some delicious Mexican Food (except for Auntie Christy who believes her Taqueria is best :P ) and then went home for bed!
This morning we went to the Neighbor's Day Parade and Tomorrow we have the Elk Grove Pumpkin Festival on our agenda!
Things have continued to busy and we wouldn't want it any other way :)
On Friday, Kaitlyn had a great day at school. She was anxious to go, it was A week and on Friday she gets to bring something that starts with an A. She chose to bring an Ariel.
After school we got to have lunch with Daddy. Kaitlyn was so excited to do so! She sure is Daddy's biggest fan! From there we headed to Fairy Tale Town and the zoo, 2 of Kaitlyn's favorite places! We had a whole lot of fun!! Kaitlyn got to play on all the slides, jungle gyms, see a lot of animals, watch many get fed and watch the "rain" fall in the chimpanze cage! At Fairytale Town we also got to see Matthew's yellow brick in the yellow brick road. Check out the pictures to see it :)
From there, we headed to Kaitlyn's best friend Kayla's house. We got to meet Beautiful baby Dylan :) He sure is cute and so incredibly sweet.
That led us to the soccer game! Kaitlyn played great! We were so proud of her! She stayed concentrated, got in the huddles, and kicked that ball! Way to go Princess!
Kaitlyn went home with Grandma since sh had a runny nose and Daddy and I went to see Papa in the hospital.
Saturday morning we started running pageant errands! This weekend we were SO excited to have our state pageant! Saturday night was the pizza party. Grandma, Kaitlyn and I were joined by Auntie Christy, Uncle Dennis, Camaryn and so many wonderful members of our pageant family.
Today, the girls were absolute troopers and so much help at our pageant! We sure made good choices in our Ambassadors. They were helpful with crowning, playing with the kid and having a blast!
This week promises to be fun and entertaining. We have gymnastics, soccer practice, soccer game, ball games, play dates, school and a ton of playing!!
Kaitlyn's birthday is only a month and a half away! We're so excited for her parties! (Yes, she's demanding two)
Yesterday was SO busy! We started in the AM with Kaitlyn going to school. While she was there I worked on sewing and pageant things. Typically when Kaitlyn is picked up, the parents wait outside until the teacher starts the good-bye song and the they are dismissed individually to their parents. Yesterday was different. All of the parents were asked into the room where we were scolded. She went on about the children being bad listeners and needing to work on it. After a few moments, she ended her lecture by saying she had one exemption, Kaitlyn. :) Way to go super star!
From there we headed to the hospital to visit Papa for a few hours. He's still pretty sick, but hopefully he'll be feeling better soon.
After the hospital we headed to Caden's Birthday Party at All About Fun! Kaitlyn was so excited for the Pirate Jump House Party. She had a blast and jumped her heart out.
After the party we went straight to soccer practice. Kaitlyn is doing great with her dribbling and we just need to work on her concentration ;)
From practice we picked up Daddy and took him to his softball game. Kaitlyn did a great job watching the first half and then got too tired and was ready to go to sleep, so she did :)
It was a great and busy day!
This morning Kaitlyn was at school while I sewed some more and got even more pageant stuff ready. When I picked Kaitlyn up from school we went and saw Daddy and then headed to our playdate at Chick Fil A! Kaitlyn was so excited to see her cousin Camaryn and best friend Kayla and little Alexis! She sure was tired when we left!
Tomorrow is another busy day in preparation for a busy weekend! Kaitlyn has a soccer game tomorrow night, if anyone is interested in going, let me know and I'll get you the information :)
Huge Congratulations to the Pong Family who just found out they were expecting their first baby! Auntie Sammie and Uncle Davey have been a great aunt and uncle so far, I'm sure they are excited to add in another niece or nephew!
Also Congratulations to our friends Dorin, Nicole and Dominick as well as Patty, Christian and Uziel who are both welcoming second babies into their families! We know Dominick and Uziel will be amazing big brothers!
To say things have been super busy wouldn't even begin to describe the last few days!
Grandma said Kaitlyn did wonderful on the flight home Friday. Daddy and I drove and met her there much later. After a long nap, Kaitlyn went to her soccer game with Grandma! She said she did wonderfully and her coach said she did great as well! She sure was happy to see us when we got home!
On Saturday we went to Monterey for Auntie Sammie and Uncle Davey's Engagement Party. They both looked great and everything went beautifully! Kaitlyn had a boyfriend named Matthew that she paraded around the party showing off. There was also an accordion player who Kaitlyn was in love with! She ha a blast singing with him, doing the Chicken Dance and dancing her heart out!
We stayed the night at their house and had a lot of fun playing into the night! We want to wish a huge congratulations to Uncle Davey's sister and husband, Jenny and Yong on their pregnancy!
Uncle Davey made a delicious breakfast on Sunday morning and started home soon after!
Once we arrived home, we headed to the cemetery and then to Nana and Papa's! Even though Kaitlyn and Camaryn had just spent an entire week together and were only apart for maybe 24 hours, when they saw eachother you would have thought they had been seperated for a lifetime! Their bond is so sweet and so special!
We had a yummy dinner (Thanks Daddy!) and the girls roasted marshmallows and played soccer after.
From there, we picked up our cookie orders from Auntie Barbara's house! Yay for cookie orders!
This morning while Kaitlyn was at school, we sorted, labelled and put thank you cards on all of the cookie orders! When Kaitly got out of school we started deliverig them! She said she had a wonderful day and was so excited to see her friends and tell them about Las Vegas!
Kaitlyn delivered some cookies and the we headed to Gymnastics! She did great, as always! The we delivered some more cookies!! After we delivered all the cookies we had to deliver for the day we went to see Auntie Jamie and baby Carmen, who is looking gorgeous!
This evening Daddy's friend Billy joined us for dinner and Kaitlyn had a blast.
Looking around today it was and is amazing to know how many wonderful people we have as a part of our family and in our circle of friends. Thank you for making life such a bright and sunny place!
We have a BUSY week ahead! Stay tuned for many pctures and stories!
