Sunday, March 7: Mommy celebrated a birthday on Friday and a baby shower on Saturday! Daddy and I got her a special photo frame for my baby brother's first picture for her birthday. Then her friends at work, Elizabeth and Leslie, had a "double" baby shower on Saturday for Mommy and her co-worker and friend, Jessica, who are both expecting and due within a week of each other! (Jess is having a girl, so the shower had lots of blue and pink for both babies!) It was a lot of fun. Most of their friends from work came, and Mommy even had a few surprises...Aunt Kathy, Tierney and Delaney came from Princeton (Delaney chose to skip a basketball awards banquet to come to the shower instead, so that meant a lot to Mommy that they could come...THANKS DELANEY)! And Aunt Judy and Kristi surprised Mommy and came from Point Pleasant. Aunt Jenn also came from Princeton, and so did MawMaw. It was nice having so many family and friends to share the speical day. Mommy got lots of nice things to welcome my little brother. I loved looking through all of his cute clothes and toys...I can't wait until he gets here!  THANK YOU Elizabeth and Leslie for all that you did to make the shower so special and memorable!

Monday, March 1: We found a house in Charleston and we'll be moving in a month!  We're moving to a bigger house in a nice subdivision called Woodbridge.  No more long commutes or being stuck in traffic...we'll only be 5 minutes from my school and Mommy and Daddy's work!  If all goes as planned, we should have about a month to get settled in before the baby comes.  So there will be lots of changes in the next few months...new house, new baby, getting me registered to start kindergarten in the fall...we're going to be busy!

Good luck with everything! sounds like there are lots of exciting changes coming!!

Monday, February 8: Great news...we got an offer on our house and it's under contract!  (It's been a long 8 months of trying to sell it!)  We signed the paperwork this weekend.  Yea!  Now we just have to figure out where we're moving to!  We're watching two houses in Charleston...we've put a backup offer on one house that's currently under contract.  If that one doesn't work out, then we'll make an offer on another house in the same neighborhood.  Either way, we're sure everything will work out fine.  The man who is buying our house is moving from an apartment in the area, so he's being very flexible with us on timing.  But we're hoping to be moved by April 1 so we can get that behind us and get settled in before the baby comes.

Mommy had a good checkup at the doctor today.  She's 27 weeks and will start going to the doctor every two weeks now.  All is well...the baby's heartbeat sounded good and everything looked fine.  She gained one pound this month (for a grand total of nine pounds)!  Just three months to go!

Thursday, February 4: Mommy and Daddy took me to a sibling class at the hospital where I learned all about being a big sister!  We talked about the baby growing in Mommy's belly, what it would be like when he is born, and how I can help with him when he comes home.  We practiced holding babies (with dolls), changing diapers and how to play with them.  We also read some stories, watched a video about siblings, and walked through the nursery to see the newborn babies (they were so cute)!  Then I made a present to give my brother when he's born...a bib with a picture on it that I drew.  It was a fun class...I can't wait to be a big sister!

Sunday, January 31: I had a fun 5th birthday! The day before my birthday I had a party at school with all of my friends. Then I had a party on my birthday at Jump Street inflatable center. Despite a snow storm that hit that day, lots of people still came out to celebrate with me...friends from school, my family from Pt. Pleasant, MawMaw from Princeton, and my MeMaw from Texas (who is visiting us while Daddy's grandma is in the hospital). I got lots of nice presents and had a blast at my parties...turning 5 was great!

Monday, January 25: Mommy had another ultrasound today...everything looks fine.  My little brother is 24 weeks old.  He weighs 1 pound and 11 ounces, and he kicks and rolls around Mommy's belly all the time!  Mommy's gained 8 pounds and feels pretty good (but she says her belly feels bigger than it looks).  Mommy and Daddy are still deciding on a name for the little guy...my vote is for Garrett or Thumbelina, but Mommy's not crazy about either of those!  Stay tuned for more updates!

Thursday, Dec. 31:  We had a great Christmas!  We spent the holiday in Princeton with our family.  I must have been a very good girl this year because I got LOTS of fun toys...Barbies (my favorite!), DVDs, Wii games, a kitty cat that meows and purrs, a new baby doll, Tinkerbell poncho and umbrella, a new Leapster game, coloring pens, games, boots, money, savings bonds, and even a flat screen TV for my room!  (We could have used Santa's sleigh to get all my new stuff home!)  My baby brother even got some clothes and a high chair.  Now we just have to figure out what we're going to do with it all!

It was nice spending time with my family during the holiday.  I always like going to Aunt Kathy and Uncle Mike's on Christmas Eve after church.  We throw reindeer food in the yard before bedtime, put out cookies for Santa, and we always go to bed full of excitement!  (I woke up three times during the night on Christmas Eve and asked Mommy if Santa had come yet.)  The most fun is waking up on Christmas morning with my cousins and opening our gifts together.  It's a little crazy on Christmas morning, but that's what makes it so fun!

Happy New Year!

Saturday, Dec. 19: Let it snow! We woke up to a winter wonderland this morning. It snowed all night and through the day. We got about 8", which is the most snow that has fallen in our area in at least 10 years! I was so excited...we bundled up in lots of layers and played outside all morning...it was great! We made snowballs and snow angels...Daddy pulled me on my sled up and down our hill...and we made a snowman in the front yard. Some of the kids from across the street came over and played for a little while, too. It was lots of fun...I love the snow! Then we came inside and warmed up with hot chocolate...yummy!

Wednesday, Dec. 16: It's official...I will retain my Princess status in our household because Mommy is having a BOY!  I went to the ultrasound today with Mommy, Daddy and MawMaw and saw the little guy myself.  He's a cutie!  Although I was kind of counting on a sister, a brother sounds pretty neat...I just hope he likes Barbies, nail polish and dresses (look out Daddy)!

So AWESOME!! Congratulations!!!

I have been counting the hours until we knew. I am so happy for all of you. Congrats. Boys are MUCH easier!

Sunday, Nov. 22: This morning in church when I went up front for children's time the leader asked all the kids, "what would you like to be when you grow up?"  I rasied my hand and when it was my turn, I said loud and clear for all the church to hear, "A Princess!"

Wednesday, Nov. 18: Mommy had a checkup at the doctor today...she's 15 weeks and all is well.  The baby's heartbeat sounded good and all test results have come back fine.  Mommy's only gained one pound, but her belly is starting to pooch out a little!  I can't wait to feel the baby move...it won't be long now!  The magic day is Dec. 16...that's when we'll find out if we're having a baby brother or a baby sister...stay tuned!

Sunday, Nov. 1:  I had a great Halloween!  I dressed up as Princess Belle from Beauty and the Beast.  I loved my beautiful yellow dress, sparkly shoes and crown...I felt like a real princess!  First I got to wear my costume to school for a trick-or-treating field trip...it was fun seeing all of my friends in their costumes!  Then I got to trick-or-treat at the baseball park in Charleston where I got lots of yummy candy!  And to top it all off, I got to trick-or-treat AGAIN with my cousins in Princeton (that's always my favorite).  So needless to say, after all that trick-or-treating I have enough candy for the entire neighborhood!  But it was a fun Halloween...dressing up, getting lots of candy, spending time with my famly...what could be better?!?!

After church today we went out to lunch with Aunt Kathy for her 40th birthday...HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AUNT KATHY...I LOVE YOU!!!

I am very excited about my baby brother or sister on the way!  Mommy is 12 weeks now and she's feeling pretty good.  She had some nausea early on and a little bout with a cold last week, but she's feeling better now.  I kiss her belly and talk to the baby every day...I can't wait until the baby gets bigger and I can feel it move.  I'm so excited to be a big sister!

Sunday, Oct. 11: We're back from another fun adventure! We just returned from the Smoky Mountains. We stayed in Pigeon Forge, TN, and also visited Gatlinburg. I loved seeing real black bears (in cages, but they were cool), swimming in the pool at our condo, and riding fun rides. My favorite was the go carts! First I rode with Daddy and he went real fast! I squealed and laughed the whole time...it was great! Then we found some smaller go carts that I got to drive all by myself. I pushed down on the gas, steered and drove around the track like a pro! (I even passed other kids on the track like I had been driving forever, but this was my first time.) The highlight of the trip was our visit to Dixie Stampede...it was an awesome dinner show! There were horses, trick riders, soldiers, southern belles in beautiful ball gowns, and nonstop action for nearly two hours...I was captivated during the entire show. And dinner was yummy, but interesting...we had to eat without utensils! They brought us tons of good food, but I wasn't sure about the cornish game hen they plopped on my plate (I took one look at that thing and said, "I'm not eating that!"). But once Mommy pulled out the meat for me, I liked it. I just hadn't seen one of those before! So the Smoky Mountains were a hit...I can't wait to go back next year! Thanks for coming with us MawMaw and taking good care of me while Mommy and Daddy enjoyed a few days of rest...I had a great time with you, as always!

Wednesday, Sept. 16: We just returned from Washington DC, where we had a busy three days. First we visited our friends Matt, Leslie and Garrett. Daddy and Matt became good friends when they went through officer training in the Army six years ago. Since then, they've both served in Iraq, had kids, and changed jobs. Matt now does diplomatic security in Washington. He treated us to a delicious italian dinner, complete with appetizers, wine and the most amazing chocolate cake ever (okay, so the cake was from a bakery, but it was awesome)! Thanks for a wonderful dinner, Matt...we had no idea what an awesome chef you are! And thanks Leslie for having us over the night before your big triathalon...we saw your pictures on your website from the triathalon...you are amazing! Garrett and I became fast friends and had a blast playing together (he's just six months older than me, so we got along great).  Let's not wait so long to see each again...we have too much fun when we're together!

Next we spent a few days sightseeing in DC with MawMaw and our friends Markham and Gayle from Little Rock, Ark. We saw lots of memorials and landmarks...the White House, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, WWII Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Iwo Jima Memorial and the National Law Enforcement Officers' Memorial. We visited the Vietnam Veterans' Memorial, where we saw MawMaw's brother's name inscribed on the wall. (Uncle Kenneth, MawMaw's only sibling, was killed early in the Vietnam War.) We also toured Arlington Cemetery where many American heroes are laid to rest. We saw where President Kennedy was buried, along with his brothers Teddy and Robert. We also saw the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the changing of the guard, which was amazing.

The reason for our trip came on our last day there. PawPaw was laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery in a beautiful Navy ceremony, which began at a chapel on the military base and concluded in the cemetery. PawPaw would have been proud...he was honored by navy soldiers with a 21-gun salute and the playing of taps. MawMaw was also presented an American flag for his service to the country. PawPaw was a proud Navy man who will forever be surrounded by his fellow soldiers in the most hallowed military resting grounds in the country, which was exactly what he wanted. Now he's at peace and probably having a ball reuniting with all of his Navy buddies and swapping war stories with them in heaven :)

Sunday, Sept. 6: Kaylee and I had a fun play day at Danner Meadow Park. We rode our bikes around the bike path, played on the playground, had snacks, and just enjoyed being outside on a beautiful day. The weather is starting to cool down a little, so we have to make the most out of these pretty days while we still have them!

A big THANKS to MawMaw for helping me treat Mommy and Daddy to a nice anniversary. MawMaw came up and we had a fun evening out while Mommy and Daddy had their own "date night." We also surprised Mommy and Daddy with flowers and a cake (I picked out the cake myself...it looked like a puppy dog, kind of like my Lexie). Mommy and Daddy had a great anniversary, and MawMaw and I had a fun night together. Thanks MawMaw!

Thursday, Aug. 27: Today was move-up day at school! I moved from the Captain's room to the Seagull's room with all of my friends. (The Seagulls is the Pre-K class at the childcare center I've been attending for four years.) I had a great year in the Captain's room with my teachers Ms. Jill, Ms. Greta and Ms. Stacy. But I'm excited to be a Seagull now because my class is the oldest class in the building...kind of like the "seniors" at school (so we think we're pretty hot stuff)! Our class is called the Seagulls because after this year we'll all "fly away" to kindergarten (which I'm excited about, but Mommy's not so crazy about the idea)!

My new teachers are Ms. Angie, Ms. Carmen and Ms. Kersten. Ms. Carmen was one of my teachers a few years ago when I was in the Seahorse room (then she moved to the Seagull's room), so I'm happy to have her again. This year we'll do a lot of educational activities to prepare us for school. I'm ready...it should be another fun year!

Tuesday, Aug. 11: I'm back from a fun week in Florida! I had a ball with Mommy, Daddy, MawMaw, Aunt Kathy, Uncle Mike and my cousins. I watched Daddy and Uncle Mike scuba dive in one of the largest aquariums in the world (at Epcot), which was really neat! They swam with sharks, fish and other sea creatures. They even swam over and waved to me as I watched them from a viewing area...it was cool! I love going on vacation with my MawMaw and cousins...we had a great time swimming, playing golf and just hanging out together. The highlight of the week was celebrating Brayden's 8th birthday at Magic Kingdom. We met Ariel and the Princesses; rode all the fun rides (Peter Pan was my favorite); had lunch with Pooh, Tigger and friends; watched the electric parade; and ended the night with an amazing fireworks show. After nearly 14 hours at the park, we all went home pooped, but we wouldn't have had it any other way! It was a great day and a great week...we made lots of special memories that will last a lifetime!

Now for the unexpected part of our vacation...I was diagnosed with the swine flu last week! Luckily I got started on medication early and after the first day I bounced back and felt fine. I was very lucky. The worst part of it was the medicine...Tamiflu is disgusting! I hope I never have to take that stuff again. (Mommy, Daddy and Aunt Kathy had to mix it in all kinds of crazy concoctions to get me to take it!) I was cleared by the doctor to return to school this week and all is well. I was happy to see my friends again and tell them all about my trip to Florida!

Sunday, July 26: I had a great time at Camden Park today with my friends Hadley and Henry.  We rode rides all afternoon and wore ourselves out!  It was a beautiful day and luckily there weren't many people at the amusement park, which was great because we could ride the rides over and over.  My favorite ride was the "Little Dipper" roller coaster.  I rode it about 15 times!  We took our own picnic lunch, had Dippin' Dots...what a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

We're heading back to Orlando in just a week...I can't wait!  I had such a good time at Disney World for my birthday (in January) that we decided to go back again, only this time we'll be going with Aunt Kathy, Uncle Mike, Brayden, Tierney, Delaney and MawMaw (for Brayden's birthday).  I love going on vacation with my family...we always have a blast!  We've been planning this Disney trip for months and now it's almost here...I'm counting the days!

Tuesday, June 23: There have been a lot of ups and downs this month. Sadly, my PawPaw passed away on June 10 after battling pancreatic cancer. He and MawMaw were married 25 years, so we're all missing him. I loved my PawPaw very much...we had so many good times together. I'll always remember how he made me laugh and smile! I'll miss our special times together, but I have lots of wonderful memories of him that I'll always cherish.

Last week Mommy, Daddy and I flew to Sanger, TX (about an hour north of Dallas) to spend a week with Daddy's family...my MeMaw, PePaw and lots of aunts, uncles and cousins (Aunt Brittany, Aunt Chrissy, Uncle Chad, Aunt Windy, Uncle Mark, and my cousins Lacee, Tyler, Mason, Trista and Austin). Daddy's family from Orlando also flew out to spend the week in Texas -- Aunt Punkin, Uncle Casey and cousins Brent and Leah. So there was quite a crew of us out there, and we had a great time! We swam in MeMaw and PePaw's pool, rode in their boat on the lake, cooked out, rode on their 4-wheeler, and just had fun together (that included playing practical jokes on each other from time to time)! We had a cookout at Uncle Mark and Aunt Windy's house where I played on my first slip-n-slide, which was awesome! They also had a cute little pony that Uncle Mark let me pet. I got to ride MeMaw's horses Phil and Malina, and I learned how to make the horses turn, back up and slow down. I got to see some Texas Longhorn cows that graze next to MeMaw's property, and I even pet them and fed them some grass. I was quite the cowgirl during my Texas adventure!

Before our trip to Texas, I took a tumble at school on the playground and did a number on my mouth! I fell on some climbing bars and my top teeth and gums hit the bars pretty hard. I really gave Mommy and Daddy quite a scare...there was a lot of blood (which also scared me), and my gums and mouth bruised and swelled up something awful! I had to make an emergency visit to a dentist, but luckily everything checked out okay. My mouth was swollen and sore for several days, but I bounced back pretty quick and I'm all healed up now.

Wednesday, May 20: I've finished my second year of ballet/tap class at January's Academy of Dance. The year concluded with our spring recital on May 19. It was lots of fun! Our recital theme was all about Broadway, and my dance was "Let's go fly a kite" from Mary Poppins. I loved my blue and white costume, getting all "glammed up" with makeup and curly hair, and I had a ball dancing on stage at the Municipal Auditorium! We practiced our dance for months, so I knew my steps and I smiled all the way through. Mommy and Daddy gave me some pretty flowers after the recital because they said I did a great job. MawMaw even drove up to see me dance (thank you, MawMaw)! I love dance class...I'm really going to miss it during the summer. I can't wait to start back in September!
