Your Lia is precious! I came across your site looking for something else because my doctor is also Dr. D- because I have Spina Bifida. I also see Dr. H, although I see you no longer do. Unfortunately neurosurgeons especially do not have the best bedside manner in my experience. Again, congratulations and good luck!

troubleon4wheelz@aol.com

I am Denise, another AW person. We are waiting for RA for our Maggie who will be a little over 2 when we get her. I was interested to see that Lia liked a pacifier. What kind did she like...I hadn't even thought of packing any of those. I have bought Advent bottles with liners. Did you use Playtex? Please e mail me at fourguys@comcast.net. I am nesting now and trying to get what I will need.

Thank you for sharing your journey!
-Denise

Hey guys! So glad you've tracked your jouney in such detail. (I'll share some of the pics w/ Hannah as she's studying China in school). Lia Mei is adorable! I feel for her as she makes this transition but know that she is in good hands and showered in prayer every step of the way. I know three girls in Manlius that were adopted into American families in the same fashion Lei Mei is and they are all happy, vibrant and thriving...and soooo beautiful! Thanks again for taking the time to share the journey with others. Praying for God's peace and His unfailing love to follow you as your journey continues to unfold.
-Lori Potter

Bob and Cheri, Just caught up on your travels. Just think, 3 days and 10 hours from now you will be arriving at the airport and then the last jag of your journel. Will be nice to have you at home again. You would have been proud, as usual, of your kids yesterday. They did a really good job at the Christmas program as did all the kids. Linda Cole videoed the whole program so you will be able to see it. It was a super program and especially extra nice as most of the children had learned their parts. Have a good next 3 days. May God continue to keep you safe and give you guidance of the last part of your wonderful journey. Bob, you haven't missed any board meeting as it was cancelled due to storm. Will be having on right after the first of the year. We love you and your family.
-Bruce and Ruth

Yes you finaly have that baby in you arms. It takes special people to do this, we support you all the way. God bless and cherish every minute. We will contine to pray for you, and please continue to pray for us were hopping our adoption with David is FINAL soon so we can sleep better at night. Best wishes, Brenda and Randy stevens (and the little ones too)

For Cheri, Bob

Tis just a week before Christmas

When all through the towns, people were

praying, for a couple and a new found child.

The child was in need of family, love and hugs.

Mothers , Fathers, brothers, sisters and friends are

so proud. A new family member would soon

arrive home. Such a sweet gifted from above.

So we all can share our love. New sisters and

brother await for their new sister to share their toys upon

Christmas day.

Just so amazing how a child can spread so much joy.

I know a few tears will fall, but these tears will not be

of sorrow they will be for happiest, for one and all.

This coming Christmas will be so bright with all the

smile, hugs and Kisses to set things right. A family member hold one

another oh so tight. This gifted of a child from so far

away will make everyone Christmas bright.

May God Bless you all!
-Grandpa Don

Cheri,

I am so happy to hear how well things are going for you guys. I can't wait until you, Bob and Lia Mei come home. I read your entry about Jordan's store. I liked that store too. We talked to him for a good half hour when we were on Shamian Island. He will make you a beautiful calligraphy of Lia's name. Lia Mei is a little love bug and we love you guys very much.

Love,
Jonni, John & Sofia

We pray for your safe return and look forward to meeting Lia in person. We feel honored to have her as part of our Church family. Hearing about her special needs upon return, we also keep that in our prayers.

Bob and Cheri:

It's been a few days since I've followed your journey. I just finished "catching up" with your journal. Such an awesome experience! It sounds to me like ya'll (I'm Southern now) r doing the right things to help her adjust to a new mommy and daddy. Proud of you! We remember you often and pray for you. We will talk when you get home!
-Pastor Tim and Becky Hildreth

Cheri, Bob and I just looked at the website, GREAT pictures ! Glad to hear Lia is adjusting to you. She is so beautiful. I think we should probably get size 3 clothes. She is tall. See you when you get back.

Greetings from a fellow AWAA family...we traveled last Dec. to get our daughter (20 months, NSN) and she had been in foster care and grieved hard. She hated our hotel room in Nanning, did better in Guangzhou. I hope that will be true of Lia. Also, sitting and holding her while watching tv seemed to help our daughter fall asleep. She slept "on alert" for several months...the slightest noise or movement would awaken her. It is tough, but it does get better. Praying for all of you traveling together...I still read the boards of both SN and NSN groups, and have enjoyed following your journey. Just wanted to encourage you regarding the meltdowns....GZ is more relaxed, and China Marriott breakfast buffet is fabulous! Be sure to go to the park near the CM, and the Dong Fang shops next door to McDonald's. Enjoy!! Neila Pannell

I will be praying for continued bonding, sound sleep and especially for her grieving heart as her life has been turned upside down. Also praying for your family back home...you'll all be together soon!!! God is still in control!!!

What awsome pictures of the stone forest. Beautiful. Also all the other pictures. You, Cheri, have a glow about you which I know comes from within for your love for the Lord and your thankfulness in having such a beautiful addition to your already beautiful family. Lia will soon come to realize the two of you truly love her and will not leave her and she will respond to that love and her lonely tantrums will gradually disappear. Just remember God has promised never to give us more than we can cope with. (My translation) Can't wait for you to arrive safely at home.
-Ruth and Bruce (although he doesn't know it)

Bob & Cheri,
Thank you for your updates. It keeps our hopes up as we continue to wait, and also helps to prepare us for our time in China. I'll be praying that Lia will continue to sleep well and adjust to all the changes in her little life. The Lord bless you and strengthen you both. Amy (AWAA group 262)
P.S. The pictures are wonderful!
-Amy
